I lay asleep in my small apartment, Carnage talking in my mind, influencing my dreams. I watch as spiderman falls, landing on the pile of heroes i had faced before. I wake up and get dressed quickly, as i do so i smile about the fact that no one had ever seen my face, sure they saw carnage, but never me, my secret was safe...

David woke up and stretched as he woke up. He got up and read the note his mom left. She had to prepare for a case and will be gone for most of the day. He remembered the fight he had yesterday. He was fighting Juggernaut and a new carnage. This Carnage was female though. He once remembered his mom telling him a hero named Sentry rip carnage in half. He began to dress for the day

"Come on Carnage, it's time to start the day..." I say as I walk out onto the fire escape and watch as the red and black symbiote slowly covers my arm, and engulfs my body, ending with my head. I jump off the balcony and land on a building, I continue jumping from building to building...

A dark figure stands in front of me, his suit or flesh so black it reflects all light. He raises his hand and says, "I click my fingers and the world burns."

I scream out and open my eyes. I had that nightmare again, and I get into a jacket and some torn jeans. I slip into some black sneakers and grab my backpack as I walk outside. I see a blur of red in the canopy of this concrete jungle, and I start to run towards it, identifying it with my eagle-accurate vision as something humanoid but not human. I keep my field of vision slightly behind me, like third person view in a video game, it allows me to be better protected from behind where people aim for assassinations. I give up and get to the roof of a hotel, hoping against hope the red creature would come nearby.

A cord connected to the back of Penny's neck fed her energy, charging her for the upcoming day. The scientists referred to this as "sleeping" to make Penny feel more human than anything.
They flipped a switch on the generator that had been feeding her since last night, it turned off and the tube immediately disconnected from Penny. She automatically turned on, her dull eyes brightened.

"Good morning Penny, how do you feel?" They asked her.
"I feel combat ready." She would reply in the same enthusiastic tone every single morning she "woke".
"That's good," A female scientist patted her head, running her fingers through Penny's synthetic hair, "Are you ready to start the day?"
"Yes."

Penny stood a top a large skyscraper, a small smile danced across her silicone face. "Thar she blows!" She pointed at the small red figure; her objective. The scientists had given her strict orders to take her down, but why would she do such a thing? She wanted to make friends! Penny jumped off the building to get to a lower level and see the creature more clearly. "Please wait!" She yelled, her voice magnifying in sound.

David claws came out. He jumped from building to building but stopped smelling two smells. One was the female carnage and the other smelled like Silicon. He ran after the female carnage.

I continue across the buildings, feeling as if I'm being watched, I get into a hiding spot and quickly shed my carnage skin, i exit through another part of the building, no one having seen me change...

David lost sight of her but sniffed. He smirked and said out loud "You can change your appearance but not your scent." David continued running in her direction

I walk into a cafe and brush past a few people, my scent becoming intertwined with their's, and sit down near the counter...

Giving up I go back down and walk down the street, reaching a pretty old café, and since most tables are taken I ask a young woman with red hair if I can sit next to her, still in my 'third person view'. She's kinda cute... I think, but don't mention anything out loud.

David walked in the cafe. This is where the scent ends. She was in there but hard to find. If he was closer he could find her. He sat down and waited for a waitress.

"What a bummer... Gone already?" Penny stopped in her tracks and plopped down at the ledge of building, "Such a disappointment."
She drew her knees close to her chest, sighing all the while, "Now everything is boring."

A small habit of hers was staring down at all of the people walking down the street, she always wondered what kind of life they lead. Penny's AI always kept learning, with each new sight she saw, she grew with knowledge and a want for something that she couldn't quite articulate. A poor thing she was, a life that was born and could easily be terminated, a life that know one would know of, her death would be an unimportant one. After all, she was just a robot, she didn't have to right to bear children, or have a childhood, or have family and friends.

Penny pondered for moment, yet quickly forgot about what she had been wondering. She stood back up and jumped off the building and into the alley ways so the public wouldn't get disturbed.

"Huh? Oh yah sure…" I say, noticing the guy from yesterday enter the room...

David looked outside and across the street saw a figure land in the alley . He looked seeing it was a girl. "What the hell ?" He got up and walked outside. David went over to the girl in the alley. "Hey are you ok ?"

I relax slightly now that the guy has left. a waitress walks over, "what will you two have?" she asks. "Ill take a Caramel Brulée Latte and a Blueberry Muffin…" I say smiling. "and you sir?" she asks.

"I'll have the same, it sounds divine, thank you," I respond to the waitress with a smile, then I turn back the young woman beside me. "What's your name?" I ask, moving my vision back to first person, smiling.

Penny was surprised and confused, why was he worried about her? She wasn't hurt, nor upset. "I feel fine! Why are you asking? What's your name? I'm Penny! Why are you over here?" She began to blast a thousand questions at him, due to the fact that she was rather excited to get some company.

Uhh I'm David Walters. I was just making sure your ok because you fell from the building." David saw she looked perfectly fine. He smiled and said "Well see you around friend." He began walking back to the cafe.

Penny gasped and ran up to David, stopping him in his tracks, "What did you just call me!? Did you call me, friend? Am I your friend?" Her eyes widened with joy, "I've never had a friend before! We can go shopping and talk about boys!"
