The pain in his skull did not ease, Jacob heard her words still the pain in his skull wouldn't go away. "You know....we might be able....to get rid of that....voice" he said in a strained pain filled voice. His skull was still throbbing with pain, this one was worse than the old ones this one seemed to not want to let him go. Jacob didn't know how long he had left, but this was the worse kind of pain he's ever been to.

Elliot shook her head, "They would hurt me if I tried... I don't even know where it comes from... it is just always there."

She dropped her hands realizing that she has not helping any. She moved away and sat down. She stared at him. After sometime, she spoke again, "You said... that they took me away from you... that fhey'd give me the memory of you to hurt me after I killed you.... you made that warm feeling? How?"

Jacob shrugged, then winced as more pain shot through his skull. "I guess by loving you and you loving me back that's really all I can say about that really don't know what the rest of it was just that. You never really did say your feelings for me unless you got scared that I wouldn't come back otherwise you said nothing of the other feelings going through you."

Elliot adjusted herself slightly into a sitting position she found more comfortable. She blinked a few times, "I loved you?" She didn't remember anything of love and other than when they wanted her too, she rather felt warmth. She hadn't expected herself to have found love and just forgotten about it. What was love? What did people in love do? An image flashed across her mind and she moved her knees. She looked at him before leaning in slowly and pressing her lips against his. There was a feeling, in her gut, but nothing more, no warmth.

She felt something in her hair before she was thrown back. The woman from before stood over her. She looked angry, she wondered if she wasn't supposed to do that. It clearly angered the woman enough to throw her back by her hair. Savannah rose her gun and pointed it at Elliot as she spoke to Jacob, "You can't let her do that Jacob. They sent her after you. And we don't know what is going through her head... She could still be trying to kill you. You can't let your guard down like that."

Jacob stiffened, then it was gone as soon as it came. He grimace as he slowly rose to his feet, "so what savannah if she killed me right now I would welcome it still it would be better than dying slowly, so you either back off or I guess I can kick you out of here seeing I'm the only one trying to keep the resistance together." He pulled out his pistol aiming it at her, "you can either walk out of here with you life and never come back or you can die by my hand. You have to remember I don't care who I kill as long as I can keep the resistance going."

Kyle heard some commotion, he ran down the hall and found savannah pointing a gun at Elliot and Jacob pointing his gun at her. He quickly pulled his own weapon and aimed it at savannah, "put the weapon down you have two choices like Jacob said you can die here and now and it'll be for nothing or you can walk out of here with your life and you can do something but your out gunned."

Savannah looked at him as he pulled out his pistol. She shook her head, she hardly had a chance to move before Kyle ran in and repeated what Jacob said. She looked at Kyle and yelled, "I heard him!"

She threw her gun to the ground, not caring and looked at Jacob, "If you cared for my sister at all... you'd have shot her. But good to know you're protecting the android... I thought those were the ones we were trying to kill," She turned away and walked passed Kyle. She looked at him, "All your little fantasies about her coming back... They're going to get you all killed."

She left the room and shortly after, the building. Seemed like it was time to live on her own again.

Elliot looked up at Jacob, "She was my sister?" She didn't care that she had just gotten kicked out or that she was probably now facing death because of it. She had no connection to her, she just didn't seem like how she would imagine a sister. She kept looking up at Jacob, "Did you feel warm?" She asked quietly, addressing the kiss.

Jacob watched savannah leave, he shrugged "just been a long time since I felt any of that." He let out a breath, Kyle by his side in an instant "easy there Jacob easy you know not to push yourself when this happens." Jacob only nodded, the pain still pulsing in his skull. Kyle lowered Jacob back down to the floor, "just take it easy for a few hours just don't push yourself you know what happened last time when you did that."

Elliot watched as Jacob lowered back to the floor. She was propped up on her elbows, staring at him. She pursed her lips, "You aren't wearing a wedding ring..., So we weren't married...we were dating."

No memories were coming back to here. She couldn't fill any holes... There were no holes to fill... nothing was there. She remembered some things, how to walk, read, write, talk. But anything personal, how she learnt how to do those things were gone. She could remember how people showed affection for each other. How they kissed or hugged but she could not remember what that felt like or the emotion that drove the action. She sat up properly and looked at him, "When did we fall in love? Did we kiss lots? Do you want to again?"

Jacob slowly glanced up at Elliot, "the day that we fell in love it was like four months into the war, Ellie you were always the one making me kiss uo on the battlefield when it wasn't really the right time." Jacob shrugged, "the kiss is really up to you right now Ellie I'm in no condition to move not yet." He was using the shortened version of her name he always did it back then, he didn't mind he was doing it now.

Jacob and his squad were pinned down in one location, "Kyle where the hell is the extraction team we can't move anywhere right now without getting our heads blown right off!" He yelled over the gun fire, "I don't know Jacob just hold tight a little bit longer alright." Jacob leaned out of cover a little bit to see the enemy and saw them closing in, "Kyle now would be a good time to tell them to get the hell over here I'm losing men down here way to many injuries."

Elliot looked at him as he said that it was up to her what happened. She bit her lip a little, she didn't get the feeling, she had expected. However, she was curious if that feeling in her stomach was something. It was something she had ever felt before. Her curiosity over powered her and she moved to her knees again. She placed her hands on his neck and leaned in to kiss him again.

Elliot didn't like being on the field but she went with Jacob as he had requested. It had been a good plan, a lot of people had gotten injured. Fewer would make it back had she not been there. She heard Jacob calling to Kyle as she tried to tie up a bandage on a bleeding arm. She shook her head as she heard Jacob mention the injured, "Sorry, I only have two hands!"

It didn't help any that they were shaking. She could hardly tie the knot on the bandage. Dropping them in frustrastion, she turned to Jacob and grabbed the front of his shirt and kissed him. She'd be lying if she said she hadn't thought about doing that before. But she had reasoning, if anyone needed, or if Jacob didn't exactly share her feelings. She needed to calm down, to relax. Taking that moment to pretend like they all weren't going to die helped. She turned back around as though nothing happened and tied the bandage with steady hands before she moved onto the man's leg.

Again jacob stiffened, but responded to the kiss relaxing as best he could. With the pain going through him, he kept his hands at his sides though, knowing if he moved them he would only cause more pain to himself if he moved even the slightest.

jacob was surprised when he got pulled forward toward her and kissed, he smiled a bit he really didn't get much time to respond to it though. He looked baxk around the wall, he was calmer than he was before Elliot had kissed him, he changed the regular bullets to explosive ones. "Kyle that extration team better show up fast or were done for," he said calmly before he stepped out of cover and fired.

The clue saw robots getting torn apart by the bullets, he smiled then went back into cover. Jacob had bought them some time before they would try anything else for now, but not much time. He changed the mag from his gun, "Kyle come on we don't have much time down here and were losing bullets we don't know how long we can hold out here when we run out."

Elliot listened to Jacob as she worked on the leg in front of her. He wasn't helping calm her down, yelling about how little time they had. Securing another bandage, she checked that all those injured were in a stable enough condition before she turned back around to Jacob. This was the closet to death she had gotten in the field while being uninjured and coherent. She didn't like it. It let her brain think about her impending doom. She looked at Jacob and sighed, "If we die..." She pulled him into yet another kiss as she moved her own gun around her to allow her to shoot. She pulled away and whispered, "I love you..."

Elliot pulled away from the kiss and whispered, "I love you."

She sat there a moment before she blinked, clearly unsure where that came from. She moved back to sit down, greatly confused, "Umm.... I don't know why I said that...."

Jacob shrugged, the pain had finally faded away. He got back onto his feet, "kyle ill meet you in the command center I need a full out report on what went on when I get there." Kyle nodded and ran off.

jacob smiled a little, "I love you too Ellie" that'd when he saw the extraction trucks pull up. "Come on we need to move now," he got one of the injured soldiers onto his shoulders as gently as he could. Other soldiers followed suit getting them onto there shoulders no man was going to get left behind today. Jacob was the last one to run toward the trucks. Some robot got a lucky shot and the bullet hit his thigh. He grunted in pain and stumbled a little but kept moving he got to the truck and slid inside next to Elliot.

Elliot sat on the floor a little stunned. She watched him as he ran away then just stared into space. Why had she said that? She didn't love him... She hardly knew him.

Elliot felt stupid but her heart felt like it skipped a beat when Jacob told her that he loved her to. She thought he might have been smiling when she kissed him. However, that would have been because he was preparing to mock her for it the rest of her life. She nodded when he said that they had to move and quickly gathered her medical gear, throwing them into her bag and over her shoulder. To small to lift any of the injured soldiers, she was ushered into the truck. She helped Jacob get the man on his shoulder in. Noticing the blood, she looked at his leg to see that he had gotten shot. Grabbing his knife from his belt, she cut his pant leg open more. She shook her head, "Could make it out of there without getting shot at least once, eh?"

She laughed a little started to tend to it.

jacob laughed, "I guess I can't ever get out of a fight without getting hurt or shot its just always my luck when it happens." They drove through town trying to throw off anybody that had followed them, "I meant what I said back there Ellie I do love you glad you said it first or I uhh would have been a complete fool trying to tell you."

Jacob made his way toward the command center, once he was there he got the full report of the battle in downtown they had taken it back, his plan had worked they took downtown chicago back from the robots.

Elliot shook her head, "Or you just want me nursing you back to health," she teased. She looked up at him when he told her that he meant what he had said, that did love her. She blushed a little and sat up. She kissed him again, as she did, she pressed alcohol covered cloth against his wound to clean it. She pulled away when she finished. She laughed a little and bit her lip, "Sorry..." She gave him another small kissed before she bent back over him and went back to work on his leg. When she managed to bandage him up, she sat up and looked at him, "It's the best I can do in a moving vehicle, so I'll have to properly tend to it along with everyone else."

She rest against him and placed her head on his shoulder. She slid her hand into his and smiled at him, "I meant it too..."

Elliot had gone back to her room and was sitting on her bed. She was trying to figure out why she had said what she had. She pulled her legs close to herself. It seemed like every time she got a thought track that made some kind of sense, the voice managed to derail it in some form or another.

Jacob shouldered the gun, the memory had slowly went away. He went back to his quarters putting his gun on the floor, and sitting down on his bed. Some way he had tofigure out how to get the robots to surrender at some point, but he ddidn't know how to do that not really he was more of a soldier than a planner.

Kyle had watched jacob walk out, then he looked back at the map of the city. If they won this what then there were still more robots to deal with. Once they won, were they going tob help out the others or were they going to stay out of it there was no telling not yet.

Elliot curled up on her bed and under her blankets. She sat there with her eyes closed and started to make up memories. She had done this before. Although, she fished for faces, designing the people around her. People who looked nothing like those who had really been around her. She never imagined she had been in love or that she had really close friends. She had always thought... that she was alone. Like she had been when she woke up. She was always alone before... But at one point... some point she could no longer remember, she hadn't been.

She lay there and found herself crying. She didn't want to be alone anymore... However, all she could think about was the danger she put people in by being around them. The Voice always got to her. She always ended up doing what it said. All it said now was kill.

Jacob lay back on his bed, starring up at the ceiling. He soon got up knowing he needed to do something before he would start punching holes into the walls. He went to the training room grabbed a punching bag and hooked it up. Letting out all the anger and frustration into it, soon he was breathing hard but he didn't stop "why is my life so screwed up!" He only yelled it once while he was punching.

He didn't want to be in this life anymore he wanted nothing of it, he didn't care if he would die by robots hands all he wanted was to be out of this life out of the war out of everything that he would consider his life here.

Elliot jumped when she heard yelling. She wiped under her eyes and climbed out of the bed. Grabbing the blanket at the end on her bed, she wrapped it around herself and walked back to the gym. She found Jacob in there, punching a bag and yelling. She sniffled and laughed as best she could, "You think your life is screwed up..."

She pulled the blanket around herself tighter and leaned against the door jab. She wiped her cheeks again, as a tear escaped her eye, "You don't know the worst of it..."
