You'd be surprised on how much you could really get done when you and some peep - or peeps - sit down for a good 3-4 hours, and write your heart away. I think Sgt and DPL and I did one that was around the length that Davi said. I would have to check to be sure, though.

In these kind of situations, it usually is. All you can do is say how sorry you are for their loss, and just be there for them. It probably won't seem like a lot, but it will be to your friend. I'm confident that just having you there(and whoever is also there) is enough.

As someone who's experienced a family member dying before, all I can say is he has to let the emotions come. Bottling them up inside isn't gonna do anything but make the experience a whole lot worse. He honestly just needs to grieve, and take some time off school/work/whatever. It took me a good couple of weeks to fully get over it, but it'll get better. Make a mini-memorial in his room, if he wants, of any good memories, and write a letter imagining what he'd write if he could send it to his loved one.

If you're up to it, Davi, offer yourself as a person he can pour his heart out onto. I can help you out, if you want. Honestly, I hate sitting here knowing there's so many people out there experiencing this. ;-;
