Rustboro Gym | Cinque | Type-0

The Rustboro Gym can be found in the heart of Rustboro City, in the basement floor of the iconic Rustboro Skytree that can be seen even from the city outskirts. This underground gym has a pretty standard appearance, except that it has a layer of shield separating the audience seating area from the main field in the center. There is only one type of field: rock. Well, it's a Ground/Rock-type gym, after all.

The gym leader, though, is the complete opposite of the element type she's supposed to represent. Cinque is an airhead, and she literally lives at her own pace. However, once she's on the gym field, her true, grounded personality will show itself in the battles. You better not underestimate her - as the saying goes, "Don't judge a book by its cover"! Do you also know that she's actually the top student of Rustboro Pokemon Academy, which is the best institution in the Hoenn region?

Pacifidlog Gym | Snow Villiers | XIII

The Pacifidlog Gym is located on the smallest island of the Pacifidlog Archipelago, in a huge quarry left behind by miners for granite for building and construction purpose to develop the Pacifidlog Town. The interior has quite a unique sight: the gym has a semi-open concept with the hole in the roof uncovered, leaving bits of green nature hanging off the sides, sometimes even attracting unlikely flying spectators. Sunlight can reach the bottom of the quarry, but only when it's right above the head. Battles are carried out over two types of fields: water and ice.

The ironically hot-headed Water/Ice-type gym leader may give off the vibe of incomprehensible stupidity, but he's a force to reckon with in a battle heated enough to melt and boil his fighting spirit. In his iconic beanie hat and long overcoat with rolled-up sleeves, few trainers are able to see beneath Snow's rather laid-back appearance and his annoyingly loud way of talking to realize he is a fearsome gym leader who knows how to grind many challengers into the freezing-cold ice... literally.

Zack Fair | CC:VII

Holder of Hoenn League Champion title for two years in a row, Zack has a personality as big as his diverse and powerful pokemon team - so good that it's no doubt why he's also known as the strongest trainer in the region. (There are rumors of him specializing in dragon types, but it's really hard to tell with how he's dandy with just about any pokemon.) You'll be even more amazed that this young man once started his journey with a temperamental Bagon, which has already evolved into a Salamence, and is his number one best pal.

Tifa Lockhart | VII

One of the Elite Four, specializing in Fighting/Rock/Steel-type pokemons. Tifa may not look like it (especially with that huge bust of hers) but her fists are enough to do all the talking. Her team is as spicy as herself, and many who have dared to challenge her aren't spared from a crushing defeat from her ferocious battle style. She's often seen in cowgirl outfits, which gives her the nickname "Fist of the Western Star".

Her number one partner is Mawile... which is pretty much the literal embodiment of Tifa's very appearance, don't you think so?

Fourteen-year-old Yuffie may be just at her prime age of puberty, but her body is already showing bits of feminine curves (though still far from having a real rack like a certain someone). Her face doesn't seem to follow her body's growth, retaining the iconic babyface that makes anyone be able to recognize her instantly, much to her dismay.

She doesn't shy away from her rather... revealing choice for clothes. She prides herself as a pokemon ninja-trainer (self-proclaimed), so it makes more sense for her to wear something that maximizes mobility (showing too much skin is a secondary problem). She likes wearing a headband over her forehead to keep the fringes off her eyes, even though her hair has been kept rather short for a girl...

Yuffie is a brat - and a rather obnoxious one at that. She is in that sweet spot (read: rock and hard place) of growing up, and is currently going through what every teenager has to deal with at her age: emo-ing, rebelling... being edgy and difficult with people because she's in the process of changing from a little girl to a mature woman (hopefully). It doesn't help that she behaves like a complete tomboy, but don't assume that she doesn't have a fragile maiden heart under that tough act.

However, beneath all the temperamental dramas, she does have a soft, much nicer side in her. You need to be patient with kids to bring out the friendly, fun-loving and helpfulness hidden somewhere inside this girl.

Mt. Pyre is Yuffie's birthplace; it's also where her family, the Wutai clan, guards the blue orb that controls the legendary pokemon, Groudon. Her father is Kurasame Susaya, who is also the current clan head. He's known by the nickname "Reaper of the South" because of his icy, no-nonsense personality and is a tough tactician in battles... even in how he disciplines children. #ReaperDad

However, Kurasame isn't a completely heartless man. He wants his doting daughter to grow up in a safe environment away from the fighting (and blood) due to the clan's role of protecting the blue orb from greedy fools. So Yuffie spends most of her childhood growing up in Littleroot Town with her mother, which explains why she has adopted her mother's surname instead of her dad's.

The only adult in the main cast of kids (not pedo, mind you), Ignis is that tall bloke among the shorties and thus gets the de facto role of being their guardian, shepherding them on this long journey. With his lean build and those glasses, it's no wonder he looks just like the brain of the group, though he also does most of the labor work. #KidsNowadays

The only bit of "rebellious" side to his whole prim-and-proper nerd package is the spiked brown hair, which he claims to do it not because of fashion, but is told that it's a better way to keep the fringes away from his eyes than snipping those bangs off. (Also, it gives him a more refreshing look, so why not?)

Normally he prefers to wear suits or at least formal wear, but honestly no one wears that on a hot and stuffy foot journey... So he's pretty much stripped down to his pinstriped shirt that's held down by suspender pants. He also wears gloves, but he can assure you that it's not due to germophobia.

Ignis is a perfectionist - and he doesn't even try to hide this from anyone. You can easily tell from how well-ironed his clothes are, how he would actually measure the food ingredients so precisely with that mobile kitchen of his...

Okay, jokes aside. It's nothing that extreme, but you get the gist.

As the oldest in the odd group, he naturally feels that he has a responsibility to watch over them, and take care of them. While his face looks as if they have been frozen with an ice beam doesn't show drastic emotions like the younger ones, he does care for them - so much so that he may come across as a bit of a nagging dad at times. (Though, his great cooking can easily make the kids forget their irritation towards his overbearing protectiveness. #IgnisIsBrock)

He may look like a fonz cool person, but he's not as zen as you'd expect him to be. Behind that intelligent-looking glasses, this man has quite a pride that rides on his brain. Once you breach his fragile smart front, the cool facade would quickly fall apart... along with his tactics during battles.

Ignis originally hails from Mossdeep City, a place known for being one of the more technologically advanced areas in Hoenn, at the same time the home to the espers due to their reputation with psychic pokemons. He is the son of Regis Scientia, the current gym leader of Mossdeep Gym, who is planning to retire and let Ignis to take over... only if his son can pass the trial he has set for him.

Zidane is a boy of less-than-average height with a fair complexion. His hair is sandy brown and rather lengthy. He loops it in a series of ponytails. His eyes have a sapphire hue to them; almost as if they sparkle like a real sapphire stone. His body type is very lean for his age, which is easily explainable by how much he runs and likes to move around. So, it’s no wonder he has the body type that he has.

This boy dresses quite peculiar.Zidane fashions himself with a sleavelese, white shirt, and a dark teal vest. He wears a pair of blue pants and brown shoes that have been cozied with his feet for a few years now, so it’s no surprise that they have some wear and tear to them. Regardless of that, though, they still have a fair amount of walking left in their soles. He also wears a series of belts as some sort of fashion statement.

Usually wild and carefree, Zidane Tribal is a boy of endless energy. If it’s not seeking adventure nearby, then it’s jumping off of high ledges that would give his mother a heart attack. Zidane is a constant-thrillseeker, often citing that he would love to see the world one day. He sees his little town and can’t help but feel there’s a lot more out there for him - a lot of the world he hasn’t seen. Oceans, other towns, the sea - everything that could ever exist, Zidane wants to see.

Now let’s talk about his issue with the ladies. He promises, honest to god, that he isn’t a womanizer. Or a skirt-chaser. It just so happens that whenever he’s near a girl of any age(within reason), he can’t resist the urge to be a little…friendly with them. Nevertheless, there have been rumors running rampant around Littleroot Town that he’s dangerous around girls. They even call him “Zidane, the Zipper”, because whenever caught, he zips away in a fast run.

One last thing. He’s got serious mood swings. Look out for those.

Zidane’s past is a confusing one. He remembers being with people that might’ve been with his parents, but that was seven years ago -the same amount of time he’s been living in Littleroot Town. He doesn’t remember much about that. All he knows is that his real parents - and possibly other family - is out there. Somewhere.

Rikku is a pale-skinned girl with emerald eyes and golden hair. She usually keeps it tied up with a sturdy hairtie, for when she’s working on her machines, it gets in the way. Rikku’s body type is quite slender with a lean towards — well, lean. It’s toned in certain areas, and she definitely has her curves. Not exactly fully-developed, but she’s working on it. Give her a year, and she’ll have the guys swooning over her.

She isn’t very conservative when it comes to any outfit she wears. It always includes short shorts, a midriff of some kind, and a jacket. Sometimes the jacket will cover her upper body, and sometimes it defeats the purpose of wearing one. She wears a belt around her shorts that hangs low to her upper-thigh, so it pretty much is the same thing as her jacket(more of an accessory than an useful item of clothing). She also wears a pair of blue and white gloves, and the best walking shoes money can buy.

For the most part, Rikku’s well-mannered. She’s very upbeat and positive. She’s friendly, too, but sometimes she doesn’t know when to mind her tongue. She has a tendency to speak her mind. Even when it’s not welcomed, she speaks it anyways. She means well, but it’s not always perceived as such.

Rikku has an undying loyalty to her friends, and loves them dearly. She likes there to be a bit of…fun to be there between them. She is not one to shy away from a challenge of any sort. Perhaps that’s why she’s always getting into trouble with her fellow adventure-enthusiast, Zidane Tribal.

And of course, let’s not forget to mention her long-standing rivalry with Yuffie Kisaragi. While they might be friends, there is no doubt that the two of them compete at almost everything. For as long as they’ve known each other, they both found enjoyment in healthy competition between one another. While most of the time, it’s not extreme, there have been times where some within the little town of Littleroot have feared for their safety because of how fierce these two get with their competitions.

One last thing: Rikku speaks her own language that no one understands that isn’t apart of the Birch family.

Born and raised in Littleroot Town, Rikku Birch was so with her father, Professor Cid Birch, and her brother, Brother Birch. The three of them garnered a reputation as being the Bizarre Birches. They speak in their own language that no one understands.

The entire family love machines, and they are always tinkering with something in their backyard. God help them if they actually create something useful.
