When searching in general, I usually do key words. It will bring up posts, but not in a chronological order (1month, 2 years etc).
What I suggest is being able to toggle in searchs
"Show oldest first"
"Show newest first"
So it organises the oldest posts as your front page going to the last - being youngest.
And vice versa, thoughts guild?
