Kali looked at James and Elizabeth "i wouldnt know what that restraint was, i was locked up my whole life" she says to them. she looked at her brother.

Brandon smiled at Elizabeth "i have eaten at one a few times, its not bad food" he says to James. he kissed Liz'z cheek "i will take you to one soon" he says to her.

Elizabeth sighed. She nodded.
"I know of that particular place though. That is what I meant. The owner was human NOBILITY."

James nodded.
"My father was Lord Edward Alexander Daniels McKnight. He was a descendant of royalty. I'm sure your father would have heard of him at least."

Brandon shrugged his shoulders "i suppose" he says "he is a few thousand years old" he told them

Kali looked at him "what does that make you then?" She asked James.

James shrugged.
"a rare royal hybrid I suppose."
He looked at kali when he said that.
"I know a lot of men would kill to have me be a part of their family to ensure a connection to the noble families but I do not wish to be a part of that arranged marriage nonsense."

Elizabeth looked at Brandon with a small frown. She sighed a bit.

Brandon looked at Elizabeth "whats wrong my love?" he asked her

"so your like a prince?" she asked him trying to figure things out. she wasnt sure how to take all this information. would her father deny James to her if he knows all of this.

Elizabeth bit her lip.

James shrugged.
"in a way I suppose. yeah."

she sat down and looked at her feet. "thats a lot to take in" she says "would you ever told me?" she asked him "or just keep this all to yourself?" she asked him.

he rubbed her back in small circles "it will be alright Liz" he says to her. "are you worried about something in particular?" he asked

"I would have told you after we got to know each other a little bit more. I would have to be sure that you loved me for ME and not what I have."
James was honest.

Elizabeth sighed.
"Everything at this point."

"well lets sit down then" he says " if you want to rest i will let you do that"he says to her as he walks back over to the bed holding her hand.

Kali looked up at him "James i do not know much about the outside world but that i got from books" she says "how would've i known any of this, or anything about you?" she says "James what happens if we marry?" she asked him

"well, i'd take you any place that you'd want to go. it would be your choice."
James told her.

Elizabeth nodded and followed him. She sat down on the bed. She blinked. A hawk flew into the room and dropped a letter, flying off afterwards.
"it's...from my father."

she shook her head "no i meant if your royalty, what does that mean for us?" she asked him. "i need to know what to expect, you have ...duties right?" she says to him

Brandon saw the hawk drop of the letter to Elizabeth and he sat down beside her. he took her hand and kisses it. "go ahead and open it" he says to her. "im here for you"

James chuckled.
"not THAT kind of royalty. I don't live in a huge castle or anything, you know."
He kissed the top of her head.
"I have enough responsibility as it is. My uncle is more than willing to handle all that."

Elizabeth sighed. She took a breath and nodded. She opened the letter and read it.
"looks like he got my message sooner than I thought. Be prepared he'll be here in a week or so, when he's finished with my brothers' current training. Sounds like he is going to size you up."

she bit her lower lip and turned red. "will your responsibilities keep you away from home for long periods of time?" she asked him. she didnt find any of this funny.

He nodded " a week then" he says "i welcome the challenge" he told her "dont worry my love, even your father cant get rid of me, the only way im gone is if you want it" he told her.

james shook his head.
"my uncle is the traveler. I meant the restaurants and helping with my mothers' businesses."

Elizabeth nodded. She blinked.
"It looks like he will not be coming alone. Mother and Joseph, my brother, are coming as well."

"a whole family affair" he says "so what is your mother like liz?" he asked her

she looked at him "and what would be expected of me?" she asked

Elizabeth sighed.
"think of the story of cinderella. and I do not mean the princess of the tale."

James blinked.
"You will mainly just have to be by my side. you'll make the family look good just by being yourself."
He tried to be reassuring. He kissed the top of her head.

"so where you go i go" she says biting the inside of her cheek. "so im just something pretty like and accessory?" she says not looking at him.

Brandon looked at her "well even in the grimm tales the mother passes and the father remarries" he says "so your mother is really your step mother?" he asked "she didn't treat you well, and unfortunately sounds like your father was no better in how he treats you" he says "is your brother the same as them?"

James sighed.
"What did I tell you? I love you. You are more to me than just a pretty face. You are the best thing that ever happened to me and I won't give you up without a fight."

Elizabeth sighed.
"I meant my mother acted the same way. She is not my step-mother. My brother just cares about marrying a wealthy noble girl with a pretty face so he can have his own heir."

she sighed "will i have any freedom?" she asked him. she wanted to know, she was going from one cage to another but without visible bars.

"im sorry Liz" he says to her "if i could whisk you away right now i would" he says "marry you so you didn't have to worry about them anymore, not see them unless its something you wanted" he says to her

James held her hands in his.

Elizabeth nodded. She dropped the letter and leaned against him. She closed her eyes.
