Also I added a few rivers and a few barriers. They can be changed. The green is a forest, the blue is a deep ocean, and the brown is a desert. They can be changed. I also gave the Sirens more space and created a pass in the mountains. the purple spot is The Tree; the one that's dying. I did like your map. It was great. I just made a few changes and they can be undone.
Finally. I really want to share what I've come up for the Sirens. Is that okay.
Only a couple little mods to the map: Azurei IS desert, though some areas are more barren than others. It’s northern section is the Dust Sea, where it borders the mountains. There are settlements in the mountains themselves or at the foothills but then as soon as you cross them it’s the Dust Sea which is just empty sand dunes. The borders it doesn’t share with the other nations are coastal.
Other than that, looks great! I have been curious as to what your thoughts on the sirens were! What were you thinking?
Also yay, drawings! Ridahne’s link gave me Darin’s pic, which is great by the way. Did you draw that yourself? Nicely done.
Hello. Me again. I'm sorry I keep bothering you. The reason why Darin was able to sense Mark's evil so strongly was because it was so strong. I don't think Ridahne was evil and I don't want to know what she did until she tells Darin (That's half the fun of role playing) bit the closer Darin gets to The Tree the stronger her powers will get. On a scale of like Jack, the farmer, being 1 and Mark being ten how "evil" was what Ridahne did? Did that make sense?
It’s ambiguous. She did a bad thing but did it for good reasons and to benefit more than just herself. Maximum is 5, maybe like a 3 more realistically. More good than evil for sure. She’s a good person at her core but is absolutely not a paragon. She’s gonna struggle a bit at the tree just because she’s not a pure innocent person.
She knows it’s wrong. She’s not proud of it but doesn’t regret it. I think she’s honest with herself about how bad it is. Though I think she goes through moments of “I should have done it sooner” and “omg I’m the worst person ever”.
More or less, yeah. Pronounced almost oh-juh, they are actually part of the Azurian religion and a large part of her culture. Their purpose is not ultra common knowledge in the human/siren lands, though it's not really a secret either. Most Azurei, when asked, are not forthcoming about them and will usually divert the subject. They serve both a religious purpose and a social one--ojih can be read by those who know the marks (almost exclusively Azurei, as they don't really teach the marks to others). This is important because Ridahne bears a mark that more or less explains what she's done and so now everyone from her country knows just by looking at her.
Ridahne did point out that mark to Darin and explained at one point that it marked her as an exile, so Darin would possibly have some guess as to what the tats are for.
I would like to use my next post to finally try my hand at writing a flashback scene. Since this is the first time I'm doing one of those this role-play I would like to give in my full attention. So, I may not get to it until this weekend sometime. I hope that is okay.
