Inside an abandoned hollow of a tree, so enormous that its branches could be compared to highways. Untold eons of dry rot showed signs along the colossus of wood and foliage, uncountable nests of termites or termite-like creatures were visible throughout the channels of the world sized tree. Its usefulness had approached an end a long time ago, even the throne that once held an unspeakably powerful being sat empty and filling slowly with dust and threads of cobweb.

The few adventurers behind him were of various worlds, they'd stumbled here as well as he. They were in awe, the wonder of the unknown filling their souls, but Drom was disheartened. He'd passed through once before, seen it in its glory, this was a sad return and he was soon on his way out.

A distant memory of happiness touched him at the thought of these young creatures, they were experiencing this for the first time. They would have overwhelming joy and inspiration, perhaps they would return. Perhaps some would stay.

As the group of young man-things ventured together, Drom drifted on familiar walkways worn into the hollow branches. Infinite paths tessellating back into eachother and mirroring themselves. Magic dry portals, discharged teleporters, as well as a million other possible methods of superluminal transposition. Far too many of these old worlds were long since dead, replaced by new ones, time is bizarre among the Multiverse.

The colossal Pundambayan dragged his hand along the wooden walkways, four trails formed behind the pressure of his fingers. He was searching for something that he could kickstart, find a new locale to explore for tDrhe next thousand or so years. After what seemed like a few miles, but could have been the span of three universes, Drom's fingers found a metal ring embedded into the aged wooden walls. He drew his hand across its surface and brushed dust from its rim. With a few minutes of dusting and blowing air on it, he cleaned it and exposed energetic runes that had discharged their mana a long time ago.

Vibrations filled the chamber as his voice finally arose from his lips, speaking only one word, "Matinosh." Two rings of red-orange light formed above the palms of his hands, flickering bolts of electricity whipped from the holes and lashed at his body. Two little lines of electrical burning scalded the surface of his forearms before the bolts flashed out into the portal's runes. Drawn there magically by the thirst of magical runes, the light flickered and filled the pathway with blue luminescence.

After a few moments of discharging, Drom shook his hands and dissipated the rings of light from his palms. The portal dimly faded into life, a whirling vortex of otherworldly light.

He sat down on the opposite side of the path and rubbed his hands together, working the stress out of them. "Hate you, Tunis. Your word is the worst." A flash of a barely remembered face passed through his mind, he did not give it a second thought. So many years had passed that his memory was surely faulty, the only thing he was certain of was the line of events as he'd meticulously recorded them.

A little while later, when the soreness of electrical burns had worn off, Drom rose and walked through the portal wordlessly.

At a moment's glance, perhaps he had chosen poorly. A battlefield strewn with fresh corpses and still burning fires was the entire landscape stretched out before him. Trenches and valleys, hills of bodies and dirt, a brutal caricature of mortal suffering.

Atop the tallest hill, impossible to determine whether the majority of its height was bodies or natural landscape, stood a lone and brutal figure. Tall and made of glistering metal flesh, drenched in the blood of mortals, stood Xavier Bloodbayne over the lower lifeforms surrounding him.

Drom sighed a bit through his nose, stretching his neck side to side. Surely this was a coincidence that he'd been thrust into this particular world, and not a duel of fate orchestrated by some higher beings.

The portal closed behind him.

Surely.

(I hit quite a rut while writing this, so it isn’t the best but it IS done.)

Standing atop the tallest mound of burning bodies was a burly monster of a man with shoulder length pitch black hair and piercing red eyes named Xavier Bloodbayne. All around him were the remnants of an immense army that had mobilized and matched against him in a last ditch effort to prevent the total annihilation of their species. No more than 5 days ago rumor began to spread of a man cloaked in a thick red energy fog, known as Dread Energy, that had appeared on the coast and began sweeping through the towns and villages on the outskirts of the country; leaving a bloody trail of death and destruction in his wake.

Fearing the annihilation of their people, the 5 Kings that governed the land decided it was time to set aside their petty differences and stand together against the senseless slaughter. They commanded that every able bodied man and woman under their rule to unify and create The 5 Kingdom Army. With all manner of weapons and magical abilities they waged war on Xavier for 3 days straight; a veritable sea of warriors pushing onwards in one grand attempt at salvation.

From his perch Xavier looked upon the carnage he had brought upon the land with pride as he basked in self adulation as he reaped the fruits of his labor. Each pile of bodies had thick clouds of dark red smoke rolling off of them as the red flames in which they were drenched devoured everything they touched. By the time that Drom would have begun to appear on the battlefield it was already saturated with an incredible amount of Dread Energy; painting an incredibly detailed picture of the surrounding area and all things within it.

The very instant in which Drom established connection with the realm that Xavier had been bullying, a series of metaphorical alarms started sounding within his mind as he became aware of changes in atmospheric pressure and ambient energy levels. In response to these changes Xavier commanded the cloud of Dread Energy to condense on his location; miles worth of non-corporeal particulate coming together to create a veritable wall of Dread Energy that stretched out for a mile in any given direction from Xavier’s body. For any being that relied on a rudimentary means of sight or one based on energy detection, they would find Xavier wholly indiscernible from the writhing red cloud. Everything that comprises the physical body of Xavier is made of the same basic building blocks as the Dread Energy in the air rendering him practically invisible.

At the same time the cloud was condensing, a wave of static electricity would waft from end to end in a bright flash of red light; nothing more than each particle storing an electrical charge that would measure little more than 100 Joules. For the moment, this was all Xavier would do as he awaited some sort of movement or action from Drom; expecting nothing less then the beginning of a glorious battle

@Xavier Bloodbayne
It was all so very small to him.

A mountainous wash of energy blew across the battlefield, saturating miles in its density and blinding thickness. As if Xavier had soaked the battlefield in so much pea soup, creating an unmatched field of protection around himself. It was colossal, impressive, and so very small. Drom raised his right hand and brushed it through the thick air, its density marring his movements to an unnoticeably minuscule degree. Trails of energetic gas flowed over his blocky fingertips in jittering trails that collapsed back into themselves as his hand moved away from its wake.

The battlefield was a few miles wide, there were tens of thousands of brutalized corpses. A static charge ran through his body as he closed his eyes, the nerve endings across his body were still tingly from the discharge he himself had used to power the gateway here. Like fire across steel wool it trickled over his skin and clothes, every hair on his body stood on end and bristled together as the electricity moved through and away from him down into the ground and through the rest of the cloud.

After the charge ran through him he began to consolidate all of the dissociated information he had taken in a moment before. Supercomputer like synapses discharged and created a total simulacrum of the battlefield in his mind. Every single detail down to the way the bodies under Xavier stood on bowed under his feet, what material the bodies were made of, and the weight of Xavier pressing into it. Nothing was unnoticed, this star was main sequence and only gave off average radiation, but the burning had thrown up enough smoke to reduce the volume of radiation by a minute quantity.

Drom's body shivered as he repainted the faces of every corpse in his mind, this metal man was violent.

He stopped painting the picture in his brain once he cleared the edge of the fog, he had to stop himself before he began to understand the scope of his own existence again. There was no way that Xavier would leave his own field of effect, that was the defining feature of his existence. Why else would he put so much effort into making such a dramatic effect?

Clenching his jaw he began to draw lines of movement of both himself and Xavier, where either of them could move next. He tuned his ears to the surroundings, listening to every crackling fire and whispering blow of wind through the hairs of the mountain of corpses. Every single thing updated in his mind, one microsecond behind the reality that was happening around him. He muttered two words to himself, very solemn in tone. "Durgrov," Inhaling before speaking again as the first set of rings formed. "Reahteah." He exhaled a very long breath as the second set of rings formed. One teal, one goldenrod.

Once this artificial reality had been built in his mind, and the words spoken, Drom opened his eyes. They were glassy and inattentive to his surroundings, closing them was no longer worth the effort. Soon after he threw his head back and parted his lips, letting loose a shout that would echo across the entire battlefield. "Drom Fortin Inar faces you. It is only polite for a Challenger to give his name to the Champion."

There he would wait for a response, totally relaxed in the face of an overwhelming show of force. Knowing totally that his opponent to be was wildly unaware of the show of force he had given in response.

As Drom entered the crimson cloud he would have little to no discernible impact on it as the particles of Dread Energy were currently locked in their ethereal state and possessed little to no physical presence; a fact exasperated by the fact that he presented no defense against the energy. For every millisecond that he is exposed to the power of Dread Energy, he would have hundreds of thousands of individual particles trying to force their way through his skin/clothing/armor as though he were shaking hands with the core of a nuclear reactor. Should the battle end within the next few minutes, such a dosage of Dread Energy would prove to be inconsequential, but the longer the battle drags on the greater the dosage and the more potent the effects.

When it came to the electrification of the crimson cloud, Xavier had not expected any sort of spectacular outcome to come so soon after initiating the charge. It was more of a preamble to a greater power than a straight out attack, but the outcome it provided was welcomed all the same. By allowing the electricity to run through his body, Drom was also allowing a rather large dosage of Dread Energy into his body as well. After all, Xavier did not possess a single power or ability that was not either powered by or fused with Dread Energy. So in the very instant the electricity entered Drom’s body Xavier was granted an incredibly detailed sight of his would be opponent. Circulatory systems, skeletal structure, muscular structure, nervous system etc, anything that could be touched by an electrical charge in his body was imprinted on Xavier’s mind. The only thing that would have gone differently then what Drom would have intended, was the idea of the electrical charge leaving his body. Now that it had entered him, it and the excess energy it carried, were locked inside and ready to wreak some havoc on the beings innards.

In just a few microseconds after sensing the lightning within Drom, Xavier sent a mental command to the numerous particles of Dread Energy within Drom so as to make use of their metamorphic capabilities; shifting from their ethereal state to that of Dreadful Flames with an explosive force comparable to a simple firecracker. The flames that they would create weren’t capable of generating any amazing levels of heat, but they were capable of eradicating any physical matter the instant they made contact with it; each particle creating a crude sphere of flames roughly ¼ inch in diameter. Water, blood, oil, any sort of liquid would not be able to stop the miraculously spontaneous combustion of these particles or hinder the spreading of the flames. Seeing as how Drom had already willingly saturated himself through and through with the particles of Dread Energy, he would be hard pressed to find a suitable defense within the next few milliseconds.
