"True, but that doesn't mean..." I stop as I notice Xan approaching. "Ah, finally ready to leave? Jerus mentioned you were making some special preparations before we took off. WOuld you care like to fill us in?"

I look at Becca for a moment before showing her my left hand. Specifically, I indicate a ring on my finger; it is a dark blue marble that almost seems to swirl with smoky energy inside. "I was imbuing this with special magick. Nothing too dramatic, just a little something that should help keep Korre safe once we find her."

"Not to be that guy, but are you forgetting what happened to the LAST piece of jewelery you gave her?" I shake my head. "At least tell me this one won't break so easily."

“After everything you’ve done, you want us to trust you? Sorry, but you kinda have to earn our trust.”

“This trust my rage. Trust that I want to stop Sucal and save Korre. And trust that i above all others know how to make an enchanted ring that won’t break.”

“That, at least, I believe.”

Despite REALLY wanting to make a snide remark, I refrain and instead indicate that we should leave after giving Syn a hug and a kiss. "This is a no turning back moment, guys. Once we're on Coruscant, that's it. We're dedicated to what we're doing."

“I agree. Something tells me that we are very close to the end of all of this. At all costs, we need to make sure that Sucal does not get to Korre, and that he does not escape Coruscant. The Mandalorians have him pinned. We might just be able to win this if we do this right.”

“I’m ready.” I pull a lightsaber out of my sleeve - Iwan’s lightsaber- and admire it for it for a moment. It was I who originally brought him to everyone’s attention, and even though I had little interaction with him near the end, I do feel sorry for his lose. He cared for Korre greatly, and he did everything to protect her. For that, he deserves to be honored.

I see the lightsaber hilt that Xan pulls out, but I don't speak, instead making a mental note to find the son of a bitch who had killed him and put him six feet under the next time. "Then if we're all agreed, let's go."

I step towards Jerus. “If you see Hayden, tell her...” I pause, trying to think of something good. “Just... give her this.” I reach into my jacket and pull out a flat green stone.

Becca Twilight

I notice the stone. “Is that... You and Hayden found that on the beach back on Dantooine. I didn’t think you still had it after all these years.”

HJ Twilight

“Hayden was the one that found it, and she gave it to me when we were young. It’s been my good luck charm ever since. Give it to her if you see her. If I can’t be there to help keep her out of trouble, hopefully this will let her k ow I’m with her in spirit.”

I rest a hand on HJ's shoulder as we head for the hangar, nodding to him. "We'll bring her home, son. I promise that."

HJ Twilight

"Good. This has been going on for way too long. All I want is Sucal gone and Hayden back."

Becca Twilight

"I can at least promise you one of those. If I get my hands on my daughter, I'm not letting go ever again. Jakito and I should have taken her straight home after Alaris Prime." I board the Shadow Stalker and prepare to leave as soon as possible.

Patting HJ on the shoulder, I head up the ramp and head to the cockpit, trusting Xan to follow behind him before closing the ramp and starting up the engines. "Alright ladies, welcome aboard Air Jerus, next stop, Coruscant. Please enjoy the in-flight entertainment and please be prepared to kick some Sucal loyalist teeth in upon arrival." I can't help but grin as the ships flies out of the hangar and up towards the atmosphere. "Ib'tuur jatne tuur ash'ad kyr'amur!"

I sit behind Jerus and Becca. I recognize the language Jerus speaks, though I don't understand what he is saying. "Speaking of Mandalorians, do you have a plan to get past their blockade?"

Becca Twilight

"HJ gave us all a code phrase. Plus, Mandalore knows us well enough to let us by if we ask nicely." I look at Jerus. "I just hope we can get in touch with her directly. Most other Mandalorians are a bit... prickly. Especially in the heat of battle."

"I doubt we'll be able to get a hold of her. She'll be too busy. The passcodes should be enough."

Becca Twilight

"I hope so. Otherwise this is going to be a lot more of a pain than it needs to be."

Xanthippe Naberrie

"Isn't it always with you people? I've never seen a family that manages to hit so many obstetrical in their path, yet always seems to come out relatively unscathed."

I grimace as we break atmo and launch into hyperspace. "Unscathed is...not quite the word I would use, but then, you haven't known us for all that long. We just know how to keep moving forwards, because to do anything else would only slow us down and stagnate us."

"That's commendable. After everything that has happened to all of you, any other person probably would have given up."

Becca Twilight

"We can't afford to break down every time things don't go our way. When the worlds at stake, we learn to pick ourselves up and go press onward. Then maybe later we can deal with the trauma of it all."

I don't say anything. The dig at me did not go unnoticed, but her words made a certain amount of sense, and I wasn't in the mood to argue.

"What Becca's trying to say is we've got years of experience and from what I understand, dad's been that lesson. He watched the Sacking, he served as Sith Lord for years during the Cold War and then he found a family and it came under fire. Short of the long, he taught all of us how to move on even when we're down, even when we don't want to pick ourselves back up or know if we can." I chuckle softly. "Guy's a lot tougher than he'll ever let on."

"I noticed." I say broodily. I watch as the stars stretch into the blue lines of hyperspace before getting up from my seat. "I'm going to try and meditate. It's been too long since I've properly communed with the Force, and if I'm going to be of any use to you on Coruscant, I need to be at full strength." I march off to find a quiet place alone.

After Xan leaves, I turn to face Becca as the ship cruises. "So, think she's over her ass kicking?"

“She’s physically recovered. That’s all that matters. Her pride is still very bruised, but I couldn’t care less about that so long as she can put it aside long enough to get the job done.”

"Yeah, I'm not worried about her not being able to get the job done." I turn my attention back to the console readouts. "It's what comes after..."
