Yeah, it was a bit spooky them all getting it if I'm honest. The reason is I've got two friend groups, both of which I'm the only one not in the group that isn't living with the rest of them, and both of the groups got hit one weekend after the other on weekends that I had decided against going to hang out with them. Almost seemed like the virus was stalking me.
It's always interesting to think over the life lessons people like Slade would teach. As he see's nothing wrong with lying or cheating or stealing. Revenge is fair game, as is taking matters into his own hands. would definitely be a warping experience, and likely clashes with some of the lessons that Jinny has been taught already.
Update as I kind of vanished on you. I ended up getting sick, not Covid, but still put me down for a bit, that plus thanksgiving meant that free time has been in short supply.
I'm working on a post, but my brain is pseudo fried still and I'm having a bit of difficulty coming up with anything more then "And they worked on fixing and learning about guns for the rest of the day" I'm wanting something else to happen but not sure what at the moment. Ideas would be welcome.
Hey Shifter. I'm glad you're back. Being sick sucks. I hope you get to feeling better quickly.
As for ideas... um... I could have Jinny ask some very pointed questions about 'why is the gun here' but I don't think Slade would answer her at this time.
What else could happen. Hm... Aside from some rando kidnapping Jinny on her way home from school, or another timeskip to where Jinny is old enough to learn what job her mother and Slade have, then I'm not quite sure.
Not sure if I want to do a kidnapping at the moment, though it would be funny to set it up as a noodle incident to reference back too. Originally I wanted something to happen so that we didn't have too many time skips back to back, but that does seem to be the only avenue open at the moment.
Eh, if that's what's needed to get this moving again I'll stop worrying about it. Any preference for how long of a skip this time?
Okay, got thoughts in order and figured out at least a frame work for the next arc. Time to start the Hive academy.
Was a but vague on how many years have passed, so you can pick the exact amount of time, but I was thinking between two and four. Placing Jinny between seven and nine. Reason is I'm acting under the assumption that the Hive Academy is a multi year school, and this gives us plenty of room to extend or shrink it's time as needed.
This will also give us access to some minor toons for us both to take control of with the Hive five and other students as well as Teachers and the Headmistress as this will be before Brother Blood takes over.
Other ideas within this arc are shadowing other villain's and running into other sidekicks, and witnessing the Teen Titans getting put together.
Slade is also going to be going to Hive academy, but he's going there as a teacher, as from what I remember Hive is a boarding school on paper.
Ooh. I'm hyped for this. I've played Jinny at 10 years old before, so 9 shouldn't make much difference. I'm excited about this! Granted I know very little about the Hive Academy, but I can certainly learn. This is an excellent addition.
No one really knows the inner workings of the Hive academy, or much about it at all, at least as far as I am aware. What we do know is that it started as a school to train up and coming villains/mercenaries and at some point was taken over by a psychic cult leader and turned into his personal army. Lots of room for things to go all sorts of ways.
Regardless glad that I was able to bring the hype.
One, I am very much in a writing mood, so thank you for the reply. All my other RPs are waiting on the other side at the moment, and I was about to do something drastic.(Go outside and interact with people) Also noticed that the father hadn't had a name yet so he is now Edgar. Unless you have a different name for him and then I can edit it.
Two, went diving in to wiki's to figure out where we are timeline wise and got reminded why comic timelines are so insane and janky.
Three, just noticed that this RP is nearly a year old. Honestly doesn't seem like it has been that long, but 2020 was quite the year so I'm not all that surprised so much time slipped away.
No worries about the length, sometimes there just isn't much room to work with, and discussion can definitely be like that. Makes getting replies back and forth easier for a bit though.
I feel you there, I've not read a comic in a long time either. But I've a friend who is collecting them, so I hear a lot second hand. The confusion came because I was trying to figure out where Robin would be about now, and when abouts the Titan's would start being a thing. The fact that it wasn't an easy question to answer was not what I was expecting.
I know what you mean, granted as I said 2020 didn't make it any easier to notice time slipping away, but still. Most RP's tend not to last to this point, especially with the rough patch I had, so congrats to us.
