Chas wanted to gasp and cover his mouth when he saw Bane in the state he was, but he refused to show Midnite his shock, so he remained as poker faced as he physically could manage. He looked at Bane more when he heard Bane's voice in his head, and the words did not give him any relief or reassurance in the slightest. It was just as he feared it would be. "John it's definitely a trap, they want Serena down here" he whispered to him after stepping close to John, to make sure that no one would hear him speak other than John himself.

Kay did however gasp when she saw what was happening below ten. This wasn't right in the slightest, it was cruel and inhumane in her eyes. "Let the boys figure this out" she told Serena, placing a supportive hand on the woman's shoulder. Fia glanced at Drake whilst their mothers also spoke between themselves. "I feel that's our only option. We can't let our mums go down there, it'll be handing them on a plate practically" she replied in agreement. "Serena myself and Drake can get down there. We know a spell that can break the chains around Bane, but trust us when we say you and mum can NOT go down there yourselves" she then turned and said to Serena.

Midnite watched intensely at Chas' and John's reactions to seeing Bane in the way he was. "Well you seen it now, now leave my domain John" he warned them both. "this does not concern you" he added.

John frowned and then said “wow…” he walked to the seal to get a better look, making his face show only interest. “How did you even get him in there? I mean, this is a feat even for you” he walked around the seal, dropping small pebbles and moving his foot to push them against the seal.

Drake saw this and said “Fia…that’s where you learned that trick? His using the pebbles to break the energy flow of the seal. No wonder you carry small rocks with you” Serena nodded and said “get him in a shadows as soon as the seal breaks. Push him into them if you have too”

Midnite squinted his eyes as he scrutinized every move John was making, suspicious of his actions all the more. "Why are you so interested?" He asked, "if you think you can hijack my find Constantine you'd be sadly mistaken" he warned him. He discreetly waved his hand behind him to signal for his men to be prepared for any move John may come up with. Midnite may not get his hands dirty too often with firearms, but his men had no qualms using such devices. "I have my ways of achieving such things, that's all you need to know" he then said.

Fia leaned a bit more forward to truly see what her father was doing and when she realised, she smirked. "Of course I learned it from dad. He taught me everything I know like that." She replied to Drake. "As the old saying goes- I wasn't raised by no fool" she chucked slightly. She then went back to being serious as Serena agreed to let them take the helm on this whole rescue mission, "we got this, we'll have him back with you, I promise" she told Serena, then standing up again. "Drake, you ready for this? I think going in from above but under a cloaking spell is the way to go, we can drop down right next to Bane that way" she theorised.

John looked over and said “I am just a man in search of knowledge Midnite. You know. I don’t need the magic side just…how you were able to lure him here physically? I mean it’s no small feat…I’m just hoping it wasn’t dumb luck. That would take the fun out of it” he gave Chas a look and moved his eyes to the power panel behind Chas.

Drake held up a hand and said “hold on…we may not have to. Uncle Chas is moving to the power panel. Think you can make us land without any sound? If we play it right we can make it look like the whole block went dark” Serena stood and cracked her neck. “Leave that to me. As soon as Chas moves to the panel I’ll cover the warehouse in a shadow. Make it look like the power went out”

Midnite listened to what John was saying to him, not believing him for a second. With a raised eyebrow for a second, he went over the consequences of telling him the truth or a lie, eventually deciding that if he was to get John off his back, he would continue spinning tiny bits of truth within the lies he was telling. "It's partly 'dumb luck' as you so eloquently put it. Caught him snooping in the shadows and eavesdropping on a meeting of mine" he explained. "Turns out that meeting involved someone telling me said being was on this plane and would be very beneficial for my...activities" he said, giving a casual wave his hand as he finished his sentence.

"So tell me Constantine, where this phoenix of yours?" He asked, changing the subject ever so slightly and not noticing Chas getting the signal to slowly and discreetly head to the power panel just to the man's left. Chas slowly and cautiously headed to the panel, getting what John was coming up with on the spot. He just hoped that the plan John was coming up with would actually work.

Fia was starting to roll up her sleeves to reveal at least three runes up each arm, all for different reasons and purposes when Drake told her to hold on. "shouldn't be a problem, I've got a silence rune on my right arm here. But for it to work for both of us I'll have to temporarily draw it and activate it on you as well, just like when I had to communication rune on you that one time." she told him, knowing she had done this sort of thing on him before. We can glide down without a sound and land soundlessly." She explained.

John sighed and held up his hands. “Sadly the rumors are a little off. I don’t really have her. She’s a ward staying with me. She comes and goes when she wishes. She was in Seattle last she got a hold of me. I don’t want the poor thing to think my home is a cage. You know I like wild fires”

Serena was listening and said “wow, he didn’t tell a single lie in that. That’s pretty good” Drake was pulling his arm out and said “get ready; I have a feeling John is about to trigger the plan”

John was back facing Midnite and asked “so…do you have the vessel? Or know who is his vessel?” He moved his hand so only Chas could see his hand and he held up five fingers.

Midnite let John speak but he couldn't help his eyebrow from rising at what he got told. He was half expecting John to lie, but from what he was told by the demon who was pulling the strings on this whole operation, John was actually telling the truth. The mention of liking wild fires made him smirk briefly before he was narrowing his eyes at John again due to John turning his back on him. He himself signalled for his men to on guard and ready for anything, not trusting John in the slightest.

Kay didn't know how to react to what John was saying, on one hand she appreciated he told the truth about wanting her to feel like a caged person or animal, but the wording choices also made her feel like an object and not a person at the same time. "Hmm" was all Kay could reply with. "he's just playing the arrogant mage role Kay, do not fret about his wording" Fee reassured her in her head.

With Drake exposing his arm, Fia quickly pulled out a marker pen and began drawing the rune needed, making sure to be precise and not mess it up, but also being as quick as she could be. Capping the marker pen when she done, she placed her hand over the drawn rune and said a few words in an old dead dialect. The rune glowed just enough to show it was activated, then dulled again but remained warm to the skin. She then activated her own rune that she had tattooed on her arms for quickness. "Okay, we're ready when he is" she told Serena and Kay. With their runes activated, every time they stepped their steps would be utterly silent.

Chas gave John a look of understanding and acknowledgement to show he was ready whenever John was, as well as keeping an eye on Midnite's men. Midnite found John's questions tiring to answer by this point, "I know who his vessel is, and I'm in the stages of retrieving said vessel" he simply said, not letting on whether he was bluffing or telling the truth.

Serena looked at her and said “easy Kay. His playing the role. Midnite won’t push him if he acts like an a-hole” John put a finger down and said “oh come on papa! Your lying to me now. The vessel can’t be dumb enough to just walk in here. And you’re not a man without action. Come let me in on at least which god we are dealing with here?”

Then he put another finger down, then another just leaving two fingers. Serena was gathering shadows so she was ready and Drake was ready to jump and unlocked his weapon of choice. “Two…one…”

John looked at papa and said “I’m more surprised your willing to piss off the gods. What’s making you so sure you can control them?” Then all the fingers were gone. The time to move was now.

"you're asking a lot of questions" Midnite warned John, not liking what John was trying to get at. "And WE aren't dealing with any God, me on the other hand..." He told him, letting his words trail off on purpose. "I'm fully expecting the vessel to come after him, but I'm not expecting her to just walk in recklessly. I be thinking she will be planning this methodically and I'm prepared for that. I have this place surrounded" he told John, "I can be just as devious and methodical, you know that as well as anyone" he added smugness in his tone now.

"As for controlling them? I have very powerful contacts on my side to give me that extra power I need to control them. I've powered up a lot since we last crossed paths Constantine" he said in both a threat and warning. It was then he paid full attention to the fact he saw John putting his fingers down like a countdown and Chas knocked out the power supply from the box. "What is the meaning of this?!" He bellowed angrily.

Fia also prepared for possibly a fight and as the lights went out in the room, and she gave Serena just long enough to shroud the whole area in darkness darker than dark, she grabbed Drake with one hand and incited a incantation to make a hole in the glass roof where she wasted no time in throwing the both of them through it, making sure her wings gave them air resistance to go down to the ground level safely but swiftly. She got them both down on the ground soundlessly, making her wings disappear quickly for concerns of the colours showing through the darkness as a beacon.

When their future kids rushed down with no thought for what if's, Kay found herself holding her breath, scared that they'd do themselves injury, especially as it meant the closer to the ground they went, they disappeared from view. "I hope they'll be okay" she spoke softly.

John smiled as the lights went out. “Sorry papa. You get to deal with me…you sent thugs after me and my friends…I don’t take that lightly!” He shot magic at the voodoo man, giving Chas time to get out of the way.

Drake landed and ran to the seal, tapping the stones and they glowed. “They are charged. Hit it Fia!” Bane looked up weakly and said “you…came…”

Midnite found himself grinding his teeth in annoyance when the lights went out and it went pitch black. When the magic blast came towards him, he quickly dodged out of the way and with a couple of whispered words, he blew purple dust toward John, in the hopes to keep him back and still. "So it's true what they say, you are in cahoots with them!" He spat back. He saw Chas quickly run out of the way due to the glow of the magic blast from John's magic. Yet one of Midnite's men ran after Chas and blocked his path for a full exit.

Fia ran across to Bane with Drake, using his aura to guide her through the darkness and when the stones glowed, she knew they were working, not that she ever doubted her father's abilities. "Of course we came Bane. We weren't gonna fail you" she told him, before hitting one stone to create a chain reaction which short circuited the magical cage around Bane. "Drake it's safe, let's get him out!" She told him when she felt herself get yanked backwards by one of Midnite's men.

John rolled out of the way and said “I didn’t say I wasn’t did I? I would never lie to you mate” he ran behind midnite and slugged the guy in front of Chas. “I’ll handle them, help the kids” then the ran back and tackled midnight, hoping to just piss him off and keep him off balance

Bane slowly tried to stand as the seal was over charged and Drake smirked and hit the seal with his dagger. The seal broke and Drake turned to see Fia get grabbed. He turned and kicked the guy off of her. “Bane go now!” Bane was trying to move but his movements were slow. Drake frowned and said “crap…”

Chas was ready to punch the guy when John appeared and did it for him, the thug stumbling away from both John and Chas. "Got it!" He said back to John, jogging over to where the kids were, fighting his way through as he went. Midnite grunted as he got tackled, getting more and more annoyed by John's interference. "We are not mates. You have never been worried about lying before. As long as it benefits yourself" he sneared back, deciding that if John was going to try and piss him off, then he'd play the same game back.

Fia fought against the thug that grabbed her and yanked her backwards, and was thankful for Drake's aid but saw Bane was struggling more than she was. "Just focus on him! I got this!" She told him, spinning round and getting into a fighting stance. "Alright big boy, let's go" she smirked, spinning her blade in her hand. The thug came rushing her and she blocked the assault, countering it with a swing of her blade and a kick into the thug's back. "That all you got?" She smirked. "You little bitch!" He spat back, regaining his balance and went rushing for her again with a knife. She ran at him back and smashes her blade against his hand, knocking the knife out of his hand, but not without getting a punch to her cheek.

Chas made it to Drake and Bane, going to Bane and helping him up. "Come on mate, let's get you to the shadows so you can get to Serena. She's up top with Kay" he explained, glancing his eyes up top to the roof very briefly, then back at Bane. Up on the roof a couple of thugs were creeping up on the girls from behind.

John kneeled on his chest and said “true…but I did tell my mates that I would and try to be a more honest man. Not to dirt bags like you but…you took something that doesn’t belong to you…she wants him back”

Bane shifted into his human form, making it easier for Chas to help him up. “Serena…behind you…”

Serena heard him, their link back up and she spun round to see the thugs behind them. She smiled and said “Kay…I think you and Fee need to let off some steam…” she moved to the window, ready to jump into the fight with Kay. She looked down and said “Bane…I feel you again…touch a shadow partner…”

Midnite grunted in discomfort as John knelt on him. "So you do know more than you let on. Should have known you were taking crap the whole time" he sneered at him as he tried to get John off of him. Things were going wrong for him fast and he even noticed how the kids that seemed to appear put of nowhere were even holding their own in the fight.

Chas was thankful that Bane could at least get into his human form for the escape, he didn't feel like hoisting a great wolf on his back and carrying him to the shadows. His mumble made Chas look up toward the roof and gritted his teeth. "Bollocks!" He cursed, wishing they didn't leave Serena and Kay alone on the roof. He hurriedly aided Bane to the nearest shadowy corner, knowing if Bane was up for it, he needed to get up there and help the girls.

Kay was oblivious to the thugs creeping up on them until Serena span round quickly and then told her it was time to burn off some steam. Turning round and standing up she saw why Serena was saying what she was. She stepped forward, staring the thugs in the eyes, "you guys never know when to quit" she told them, only getting sniggers in return. "let me take control Kay, you're not strong enough yet" Fee said in her head, "no, I'm dealing with this myself" she replied mentally, flicking her hands out to her sides, igniting them in the process. "It's her, oh the boss is gonna like this" the thugs spoke to each other, holstering their guns and pulling out their iron coated daggers. They rushed her and she rushed them back, throwing two fireballs towards them, making them dodge out of the way, but not enough as their clothes for scorched.

"I'm sick of people like you hunting us!" She cursed, rushing them again, keeping her hands ignited, but balling them into fists and throwing a punch at one of their faces as hard as possible, the guy's skin bubbling and burning under her knuckles.

John slugged him across the face and said “I didn’t say I was in the dark. I just wanted to give you a chance to brag while you could…”

Bane leaned on Chas and said as they limped to the corner “I…can’t believe you came…for me so…fast…” when he got to the shadow his eyes glowed and he sighed. “Serena…I feel her…give me a minute then get everyone out. Midnite has a bomb set off to go off if anything goes wrong…” then he vanished and flew right for Serena.

Serena let her have her fun, her shadows keeping them from leaving and letting Kay beat the crap out of them. She felt Bane heading for her and she knelt down “I’m here…come home…”

When John punched him in the face, Midnite's head snapped sideways quickly, his neck making a cracking sound as it did so, but his neck did not break. He turned back to look at John, his nose broken and bleeding. "You still think you have the upper hand" he chuckled sadistically.

"Of course we did Bane, you're part of our group in your own right...we weren't gonna waste a single minute" Chas replied to him, wanting him to know that he may be part of Serena but he was his own being as well and he was going to be treated as such. When a bomb was mentioned, Chas got concerned and knew they needed to get out of this place and the girls had to get off the roof. He let Bane get to Serena and turned to the others still inside, "guys he's set a damn bomb in this place!" He shouted out.

Fia fought beside Drake to keep the thugs from reaching her dad and Midnite, when she saw the demon in question in the far distance. "Drake it's him!" He pointed out but as soon as she did, the demon disappeared and was gone. "Shit!" She cursed, just wanting to end the bastard that was the instigator of this whole mess.

Kay kept fighting to the best of her ability, but she was getting tired and less like herself. Her anger toward these people making their lives hell and the life she's been put through making her mindset get darker. "She's tiring out" the thugs smirked, rushing her together and as Kay prepared herself to block the onslaught, something snapped in her mind as they collided with her, shoving her backwards and through the roof and letting her fall. Yet as the rush happened incredibly quickly, Kay's hands scrambled to grab the men, and set one of them into a fiery blaze, disintegrating the body into a pile of ash.

Hearing the glass shatter, Fia looked up instantly and saw her mother falling at a rapid speed, a speed that not even she could get to Kay in time. "MUUUUUMMM!!!!!" She yelled in fear loudly, forgetting she wasn't meant to say her relation to Kay and John in this time. Kay's body slammed onto the hard ground, the back of her head instantly cracking open.

John pulled him up and said “nope…but mine are bigger then yours…”

Then he heard the scream and his eyes went black. He turned to see Kay on the ground and all control was gone. He roared and threw midnite into the pillar and started blasting him with all he had.

But his plan from before clicked in. The gold chain suddenly flew out and grew, wrapping around Kay in a protective barrier, the warmth starting to keep her stable.

Serena was at the window and cursed just as bane returned to her. She stumbled back then her eyes glowed silver. She said “now it’s pay back time…” the shaodws suddenly jumped around and wrapped around all those that were threats, below and above. Drake was being choked by one of the thugs and was losing consciousness when a huge shadow slammed into the man and sent him thru a wall. Drake hit the ground and was limp laying there.

Serena jumped into the window and shadows helped her land next to Kay. Her gold chain was wrapping around her wrist and linking her to Kay so they couldn’t be parted. She stood up, her whole aura changing and she muttered “we’ll come on boys…you wanted a god? Come and try and take us” bane appeared behind her; huge and in his much scarier form that would make grown men cry. She looked at Chas and Fia and said “get Kay and Drake out of here. I’ll get John and find the bomb. Get moving you two. The plan is still in play”

Fia didn't know how to react, she felt like things were going worse than any other scenario that her and Drake had seen. She froze in her spot for a few seconds, but it felt like her whole world had just crumbled around her. She heard John lose his control but she couldn't react to it. She was aware of the shadows coming to everyone's aid but like everything else, she couldn't react to it, to anything. Eventually she did manage to snap out of her trance just as she saw John's protective spell activated and wrapped Kay, whilst Serena made it down to them and have extra support in keeping her mother alive.

"You imbeciles! You weren't meant to kill the phoenix!" The demon yelled at the one remaining thug on the roof that was hanging on to his life. "I'm sorry! It wasn't meant to go down like that!" They begged but the demon just walked over, broke the thug's neck and sent his human soul down to Hell with him.

Chas ran over to Drake and shook him awake, "Drake wake up kiddo! I need you to be awake so I can carry Kay" he spoke to him, hoping his voice would stir Drake awake. "Serena be careful! We can't lose you too!" He called out as he saw Bane's new terrifying looking form make Midnite's crew escape quickly, stumbling over their own feet as they ran. "Fia come on!" He shouted at her a bit more abruptly than he wanted, but time was of the essence right now and they didn't have time to just stick around. He didn't want to leave Serena and John in here I case the bomb was activated and would go off.

Kay remained out cold on the floor under the protective shielding, her head bleeding from the impact. Fia snapped out of her shock more and ran over to Drake, "go to mum Chas, I've got Drake" she told him, taking over in waking Drake and getting him to his feet whilst Chas ran over to Kay and carefully picked her up, making sure not to do her more injury than she already suffered. He could feel what bones were broken and the stickiness of the blood in her hair.

Drake groaned as she got him up, coughing as he was able to breath again. He nodded and said “help Chas…I’ll make sure your dad and mom get out…” he looked at Kay and said “it’s okay Fia…if anyone can help her it’s mum.”

John was beating the crap out of Papa; his rage in full control now. He didn’t even see that he was only a few feet from the bomb. Serena was blasting men out of the way when he saw the demon. She glared at him and then said “I’ll deal with you later…mark my words…” then she moved over to John and caught his arm.

“John…enough. His down. We need to get out of here and I need to tend to Kay…” John was shaking as tears ran down his face. “I…” Serena knelt by his side and made him look at her. “Fia needs you right now. I’ll handle this…” John cursed then nodded, getting up and making his way to the doors and running to Drake who pulled him out.

Fires had started and the warehouse was in a blaze. Serena turned to Midnite and suddenly a new power could be sensed. More then before. She knelt down to the voodoo man and grabbed his shirt collar, her eyes changing from the silver to a deep dark blue like the night sky, including stars.

“I’m only saying this once…so pay good attention. Come anywhere near my blessed or her mate…and I’ll will end you in ways that you can’t even begin to understand…you took my guardian…my right hand…and if I were one of the other gods…I’ll kill you right now. But I have more mercy then they do…you get one chance. One. Break the demon deal. You aren’t after the bird of fire or me anymore…do you understand?” Bane was behind her; growling and making it clear it was either take her deal or be eaten.

Drake made it outside with John and John made it to Chas. “Is she still breathing?” Drake looked back, the warehouse in full flames. He felt the power change and muttered “come on mum get out…what is going…” then something in him changed. He stumbled back, markings appearing on his wrists and his eyes glowed silver for a moment. He looked at Fia and said “Fia…something has changed…”
