Friends really won't be important enough. Ex is ify. Is he close to his adoptive parents? I didn't think he was.

Hmm close enough I'd say. I think anyone would feel kind of bad if someone they knew got dragged into trouble because of them, so they just need to be of some significance.

Feeling bad isn't willing to put themselves and others in danger. I know many people I might feel bad about putting in danger but I wouldn't risk myself or others for. But if you think Wyn would react to that than sure we can have that happen in a few days

Sure, could use the intro of some NPCs at some point too.

I have to admit I'm not sure what to do. I've never gotten this far on this plot. They have an awkward relationship but it isn't really strong. Nor do I know how to build on it.

Want to create an emergency for them to deal with?

I'm not sure how that would help. It would give us more to post but doesn't really build the relationship.

They might just need to hang around a little more. Maybe come across a conversation piece, or an unusual quirk that will spark some talk unrelated to the whole situation with the chip. The awkwardness has been amusing, but if we need to start getting rid of that then finding something in common might do it. It'd be interesting since they're so different, but surely there'd be something minor, maybe even just a childhood pop culture reference due to them being almost the same age.

To hanging out could be interesting but they have to be sage enough to stop running. I'm not sure what they have in common. Roxy didn't have much of a childhood but are some favorites and dislikes I've given her.

Yeah, when it comes to building a relationship I think we have to have them make it through this part of running away and come to rest in a situation where they'd maybe have to get disguises and hide in plain sight. This would be when they can experience 'life' and start to reveal stuff to each other. It would help to introduce a trusted NPC who can facilitate this, sort of like someone in an operator role. Since he's a musician by hobby, they would likely connect through that, and the difference in experiences also means that they can each get the other to try certain things they haven't before.

Agreed they need a break to interact. The problem is even if they loss Roxy's father they aren't going to he normal things. A trust npc would ne hard. Roxy trusts no one after her father's desertion. I'm not sure how his being a musician eould connect them. Unless he plays what Roxy lists to its just an interesting useless fact. Food could but I'm not sure how to build on that. Wynn might be interested in Roxy but he's not going to make a move. And she's not interested in him. I'm not sure how to build attraction in this situation. I've never had this Roleplay leave the safe house so this is all new territory.

I don't mind throwing in an ex machina or two to sort of 'force' them to include other people in this mess. Maybe some goofy sidekick character who has pried way too much for them to let go, or a self-isolated relative who is conveniently just remembered. Perhaps the little things like food and music could jog either one of their memories about a character like that. They're practically on the losing end as of now, and it'd be cool if something seemingly insignificant could give them some idea for a potential solution. If they're really gonna go into the cafe to get something to eat, a dish on the menu or a song on the jukebox could do it. The build up of attraction has to be taken slowly. It'll develop as the main characters themselves develop and experience some personal revelations along the way.

I know we're only on 80 posts but it feels like there building blocks and there aren't. I think leaving the bunker took some of the tension out of their interactions. Now their in the normal world but in an unusual situation. They can't do normal things for two reasons. One it makes it too much like normal life. Second they would be spotted. Sorry I'm missing this difficult but it feels like we something. I honestly don't have an idea what to do. Adding a random character could keep the story interactions but I don't see how it would help them connect.

It depends on what the priority is now. Is it moving forward with the crime mystery thing, or building the relationship? For the first, we can have them be chased until they're free to find a place to access the disc's information, for the latter, it can be done in couple of ways. We either have some 'time off' where they can discover more about each other (they won't be spotted unless we have them be spotted), or we drive them into a corner with a dangerous event that would force them to depend on each other.

I don't even know what the crime is! I was hoping that we would think of something but honestly I don't know what could be on the disk. I can't think of anything that Roxy would think could help her. So I thought focusing on personal might give me something to write but I honestly don't know what to do.

Still got time before we get to assessing the disk. If we wanted to delay it longer, the information could be protected by a password and they could be left with a riddle to solve. As for the content, I'm thinking that they could be pins to various bank accounts storing tons of money, or a code to hack into a bunch of highly-valuable assets.

I'm not sure that bank accounts or assets would would do anything. We should have thought about it before. The best I can think of is blackmail but not sure what kind. Nothing really fits Roxy's father.

Those could work, especially since there's to be more focus on the relationship building than the actual crime. As mentioned, we have time, and can make even more time before they actually have to find out what's on it.

It's either crack the disk and use it or build the relationship. To build the relationship they have to stop running. So they need a new place to hide.
