Even if this isn't open anymore I still have a question. Could a daemon already be connected to a vessel before it gets a handler, such as a creature that already could transform into a backpack?

Part of the introduction is Handlers choosing a vessel with a Daemon already inside of it, so yes. Also we're still open so don't be afraid to hop in!
