Vox Machina themed roleplay??

Hey guys! I am just looking for a fantasy-dnd type of roleplay! I would like it to either be based around the Vox Machina show or something similar in a plot we create! This can either be a small group or 1x1 thing!

Ooo I was thinking a little more original, although I just recently got into dnd and so I’ve been trying to learn more and create more cities and such! I have a few plot ideas and have been researching stuff

Original settings can be one hell of an undertaking, especially if your not experienced with such things yet. I love them, but don't burn yourself out for the sake of novelty.

lol, I like how you talk/type, it’s fun. Okay, so here is one plot that I have been really interested in— I call it

𝒯𝒽ℯ 𝒮𝒽𝒶𝓉𝓉ℯ𝓇ℯ𝒹 𝒱ℯ𝒾𝓁

In the setting of the realm of magic, beginning in the city of Avingail, a city made nearly entirely of marble and precious metals. The people native to this city are mostly half-elves that have made names for themselves, deciding to ignore the discrimination from their full blooded families and home communities.

The plot continues as so,

The characters all meet in a small village outside of Avingail, known as Coppersdale. They are there for various reasons, but the main issue seems to be that a disturbance has been causing the village grief. Animals behaving erratically, crops wilting overnight, and eerie whispers through the woods. The villagers speak of a mysterious artifact, the Veilstone. This is believed to maintain a balance between the material world and the Feywild.
It is up to the characters that have formed a connection to delve deeper into this mystery, and as they do, they discover that the Veilstone was shattered during an scientific ritual that had gone awry. This ritual was performed by the religious leaders of Avingail, who pretend to worship the stone to give the people peace. This break caused a rift between the worlds, and is causing all of the suffering in Avingail and all surrounding areas.
Soon, the rift will continue to open until the material world as it is known will collapse.
But.
The shards of the Veilstone had been hidden in an attempt to coverup the mistakes of Avingails leaders. The characters must embark to find each shard and put the Veilstone together to create peace once more. Each piece is hidden in a separate location, the heart of a haunted forest, a disgraced temple, the peak of a mountain, and a Fey market.
There will be twists and turns in each location, along with new Allie’s and new enemies. Are they are up for the task? Or is the world forever lost?

Thank you, thank you. Your are too kind. I do however have a few questions about this setting for the sake of actually roleplaying in it.

questions

1.) Is this precious metal and stone construction just a trait of Avingail or is this typical for constructions across the setting?

2.) Is this setting following the multiverse DND nonsense or is it self contained?

3.) It is probably safe to assume this is a high magic setting, but some settings (Dark Sun in particular) do not have divine magic (i.e.: magic sourced from gods). What is the divine situation?

4.) Is this a quazi-medieval setting?

5.) The nature of undead in setting to setting can be all over the place. Can they be good? Are they strictly based in magic or intrinsic to the realm? Is their creation inherently an act of evil? Yada-yada?

I’ll put the answers in here just in case anyone who may want to join is curious!

Answers

1- The marble is only a trait of Avingail, although the towns all have certain metallic attributes, and what those attributes are, is what is made inside the town. For example-Coppersdale makes copper, and some buildings have copper integrated into the design.

2- It is self contained aside from the species and races inside dnd, unless someone wants an attribute from the DnD “multiverse” thing

3- Divine magic is limited to the Veilstone in these towns. The Veilstone, while not a physical being, is worshipped as such. Its only divine power though is to keep the material world and the Feywild separated. So unless a character is a holy person, the Veilstone is the only divine entity that is mentioned. (Until we get to the temple, but that is another divine revelation I created.)

4- Entirely medieval

5- In this, yes the undead can be good. How they enter the roleplay is based entirely on who wants them there. I don’t have any characters or npc’s that are undead, so if a player wants to include them, it is entirely up to them if the undead character is evil, magic, etc. If you are referring to the haunted forest, it is all ghosts and it’s all animal ghosts. They don’t really bother anyone. They’re just kinda…there. Being little ghostly guys.

I was hoping it would be along the lines of dnd classes rather than so directly, given this is free form rather than based on mechanics. The setting seems very distictly elf/fae-centric... so I imagine races pertaining to that..?

For me, I'm thinking a hag-cursed, strength ranger. You know very strong, a little dexy, with some mild wisdom to boot. Jason Voorhees as a half-wood elf perhaps?
