Now, here’s a little intro to get ya hooked:

Cassius, a 28 year old salesman and avid gamer from modern Earth, finds his life upended when a glitch in his favorite MMORPG, “Eternal Realms,” pulls him through his screen into the real world of Aethyria. This living, breathing fantasy realm mirrors the game but diverges in unexpected ways. It’s a vast, dynamic land of ancient magic, diverse races, and untamed wilderness, where no level-ups or HUDs exist, and Cassius’ meta knowledge from the game offers only limited guidance. There’s elves with their graceful, nature-bound societies dwelling in forested enclaves, dwarves that forge mighty artifacts in mountain strongholds, orcs roaming as fierce nomadic tribes, dragons soaring over remote peaks as legendary guardians or destroyers. There’s also a myriad of monsters, from goblins in shadowy caves to giants in misty highlands, that pose constant threats. Humans, the most adaptable race, form bustling villages like Willowbrook, blending with half elves and other hybrids in a world of quests, alliances, and ancient lore.
In the world of Aethyria, a vibrant medieval fantasy realm filled with diverse races like humans, elves, dwarves, orcs, and more, the Void emerged as an ancient, insidious threat centuries ago. Originating from rifts in the fabric of reality (perhaps remnants of forgotten cataclysms or failed magical experiments), the Void is a formless darkness that seeps into the land, corrupting everything it touches. It manifests as shadowy anomalies and monstrous creatures, such as frostfangs in snowy regions, slimes in damp forests, mites in hidden crevices, and ethereal wraiths that haunt ancient shrines. These entities don’t merely destroy; they twist the natural order, tainting sacred sites and spreading an insidious influence that warps both the environment and its inhabitants, infecting them into Void-ridden creatures.
The conflict caused by the Void is multifaceted, threatening the balance of Aethyria on multiple levels. Ecologically, it blights fertile lands, turning lush forests into withered groves and freezing warm coasts into icy wastes, disrupting trade routes and forcing migrations. Socially, it sows division among races, elves blame human expansion for weakening magical barriers, dwarves accuse orcs of summoning it through barbaric rituals, and dragons, as ancient guardians, retreat to their peaks, leaving the world more vulnerable. Politically, kingdoms and villages like Willowbrook face constant raids, with leaders relying on ancient to purify tainted shrines, but these efforts are temporary, as the Void’s corruption regenerates over time.
On a deeper, more personal level, the Void’s influence creates moral and psychological turmoil, subtly altering victims with marks that erode will and amplify desires, leading to isolated incidents of madness or betrayal. Before Xander’s arrival, Aethyria is on the brink of a larger crisis, with the Void’s rifts growing, beasts multiplying, and whispers of “the end” spreading fear. Heroes and adventurers seek alliances to stem the tide, but the world teeters, waiting for a catalyst to tip the scales.
