[IC] One Piece: The New Crew

Simon nodded at Wolf and thought about it. He understood why he was drinking, as many people did to to drown their sorrows, but he needed to understand that he was the only medic that they had, and once they left the Straw Hat Pirates, they couldn't turn to him for medical help because he was too busy drinking. "You're their captain. Everything they do is with you in mind, and when something happens to you, they blame themselves. It's just how it works." He told her, remembering how when he was with the navy and his own leader dies, they all mourned for him and blamed themselves. "I don't like it, but it's just how things go.."

She shook her head and said "Its not that easy when it comes to dante...you see, Dante must have told you he was taken by pirates. Truth is, he was taken from his home, from his bed that he shared with his wife and was dragged out in the middle of the night and thrown into the cell on the pirates boat...they were the Blood Lust Pirates if I remember right...he was held on their ship for six months. He was the best doctor on that side of the seas...and they took him because they wanted to take the village he lived in...they wanted their hope. We got the call...sailed out to the village to learn the crew took him....killed his wife and most of the other viilagers for trying to stop them. We took off after them but it took us six months after he was taken to catch up and get aboard...we dealt with the crew quickly and got below deck...it was much worse then we had been told. Dante was the only one still alive out of the six men they had taken that night...and they didn't take the bodies off ship. Dante was barely alive when I found him...the only way I found him was sensing his aura...we got him off the ship and burned the rest of ship into the sea...then took him back to the village. But he couldn't go back...the nightmares and terrors...so with the villages blessing I took him in."

The whole room was silent while she told her tale, then she looked at Simon. "The drinking came soon after...not to drown the sorrow...but to forget the past. After a month of him not being sober I pulled him into my cabin and basically beat him till he was sober and told him I would help him get thru the grief and guilt...never touched a drop till now as far as I know"

[pyroman]

"I.... I see..." Simon said with a surprised loon on his face. He had never learned about why dante had come onto the ship, and the story was startling to say the very least. It was a horrible story, and now he knew why Dante was drinking just now and some time after escaping the Navy base. He shook his head, though and looked at her solemnly as he sat there. "Dante did have a drink soon after I got you out of the Navy base, but it was only a small bit, hardly anything that would effect him at all."

She nodded and said "I'm guessing after he checked me out? He takes a small drink right when he works...he must be out of the juice we found him....stops the shakings. Everytime he works with his mastered craft they kick in...makes doing his job really hard. But tonight...over did it...which is why Scarlet is knocking him back to his senses since I can't stand up on my own"

[pyroman]

"You really shouldn't be physically abusing your crew until after your fully healed and ready for action. One, it makes your hits less effective. And two, You might open a wound back up and force Dante to work some more." He said with a small smile, trying to lighten up the mood so everything woulnd't be so stressful for just a small moment. He was curious as to why Scarlet dragged Dante away, but smiled a little as he heard what she was planning on doing with him.

Wolf smiled and said "yes...scarlet will be dunking him into water and smacking him
Around. It will be great. Now...as you might guess...I'm starving. I haven't eaten real food in weeks"

[pyroman]

Bringing some food over to Wolf, Sanji put some of the stew in a bolw for her aqnd placed it in front of her, as well as giving her some bread and a fork to eat it with. Here you go. Scarlet helped my out with the dish." He told her, walking away from them.

[MegaraFoxfire]

Wolf sniffed and smiled. "I can tell...she always adds lots of stuff and herbs..." She started to eat as nami sat next to her. "So what are your plans now?"

[pyroman]

"We were hoping to head to a relative of Dante's to get those shards checked out, but since that's taken care of, I think ew were planning on getting Maggs' crew back together, as well as getting their actual ship." Simon told Nami, speaking for Wolf while she was eating. He didn't know any of the other members of the crew, and only hoped that they accepted him as easily as Dante and Scarlet did.

Wolf nodded and said between bites "we have four other crew members to find. I'm sure your captain knows about them but we have Bane Claw, our weapons master. Iris, our navigator and sage of sorts. And the twins, Valkyrie and Vash."

[pyroman]

Simon believed that he had heard at least one of their names before, but wasn't sure at all, so acted as if he had never heard of them. "I see. What do the twins do?" He asked her, unsure since she didn't tell him what they did. Since they already had a doctor, a chef, an armorer, and a navigator/sage, he wasn't sure how they fit in to the picture.

Wolf smiled and said "Apart from their tag team fighting skills...they handle the money. They used to be pick pockets when I found them...smartest pair with numbers..."

[pyroman]

Simon nodded his head and looked down at the table. "I see. Well it seems that you have a solid crew if they all come back." He said, unsure of what he would be doing in the crew since all of the spots seemed to have been filled already.

[MegaraFoxfire]

Wolf nodded and said "So all we need is a first mate...oh wait, that's taken by Hawking...so looks like we do have a full crew" Nami looked at Hawking, eye brow raised.

[pyroman]

Simon noticed the eyebrow raised at him and looked back at Nami questioningly. "What?" He asked her, unsure of why she was raising her eyebrow at him.

[MegaraFoxfire]

Nami said "I am just a little surprised....didn't you just join the crew?" Wolf swallowed and said "Because his better then my last one...and I need a first mate"

[pyroman]

Simon still didn't see why she would be surprised at the fact that he was now their first mate, but decided not to speak any more about it and had some of the stew as well. "I hope that I can fill out the job well.

[MegaraFoxfire]

Wolf smiled and said "I already know you will just fine..." Just then the doors opened and Robin walked in holding a letter. "Captain Wolf? this just came for you by hawk..." Wolf nodded and Robin handed it to her, Wolf opening it and reading it through. The farther she read the more guilt and grief came into her eyes. After a few moments she rolled it back up and said "Thank you...the stew was lovely, Master Sanji. If you could pardon me...I need some air" She got up slowly and carefully made her way to the door, closing it behind her. Chopper smiled and said "She is already starting to look much better" Robin frowned as Nami said "Then why did one letter wipe the smile off her face..."

[pyroman]

"I'll go check it out. It must've been pretty bad to make her look like that." Simon said to them all as he got up from his spot and glanced down at his stew. "I'll be right back." He excused himself as he walked over to the door, opening it and closing it behind him. Looking around, he followed Wolf and looked at her. He wasn't sure that was in the letter, and he couldn't have read it since she still had it in her hands, and he wanted to know what was so bad to make her look like that. "Maggs. What's going on? What was in that letter?" He asked her.

He found her on the deck, leaning against the railing looking out at the ocean. The letter was still tight in her hands. When he came out and asked her, she closed her eyes and sighed. "What I tell you must stay between us...Scarlet nor Dante can know about this yet. Not till I can find the best way to tell them..." She looked over at him and said "The letter is from a friend of mine. He cares for a...well, a home for the lost souls. Its where pirates, sailors, anyone can go and get away from the world. Some of his guests have...problems that normal doctors cannot cure or aid..." She looked down at the letter again and said "He is looking after someone for me...someone I care for greatly...I wrote him to ask if his condintion has improved...I fear his word back..." She sighed and looked at Simon. "Its Jack. The others believe I killed Jack...but I didn't. I took him away...somewhere he would be safe...and where I hoped he would find his way back to his right mind...but it looks like there's only one way to do that..." A couple tears ran down her cheek.
