[IC] One Piece: The New Crew

[pyroman]

"Got it." Hawking said quietly as he dropped the possession. A heave sigh escaped his lips as he almost fell over and leaned on the nearest wall for support. When using the possession technique, his body controls another persons body, and in a sense he links the two sources of energy together to keep the possession going. When he drops it, all ties are cut and he's left with a giant gap of energy in his system.

Scarlet went over and caught just as wolf gasped in pain and tensed up again. Dante grabbed her shoulder but se waved him off. "I'm alright...I'm alright..." She muttered, closing her eyes against the pain.

[pyroman]

Leaning heavily on the wall, Hawking smirked at her and glanced at the others. "Told you it would hurt..." He groaned out as he attempted to steady his breathing to a more normal pace. His body felt empty and hollow after using the possession that long, and it didn't help at all that some of her pain was shared to him as well.

Scarlet pulled him to her and supported Hawking, looking at him with concern. "Are you sure your alright?" Dante shook his head as Wolf calmed her breathing. soon taking deep breathes. "There you go boss...nice and easy" Wolf sighed and opened her eyes. "I will be fine...what did I miss?" Dante sighed and said "No clue. Since you got captured we all stuck to the plan and split up. I haven't heard from any of the others." Wolf sighed and cursed softly. "Not a good way to start..."

"We wait for the Navy to let up a little on the search before moving." He spoke out to the group as he leaned slightly on Scarlet for support. "There isn't any doubt that your bounties have all received a decent raise in money, and I probably got one as well for everything that happened. I know a lot about how the nave works, and we just need to lay low for now."

Dante nodded and said "And boss here is going to need a few days to fully recover. Boss? Where is the Strike?" Wolf turned over so she was on her back and said "At teh Cove...she's safe for now...no one can get to it till the tides change...we have about two weeks before that...and then we can find the others..." Dante checked her pulse and said "Nice...good job staying calm..."

"Two weeks should be enough time to let the Navy settle down, bring us down so that we aren't their top priority." He looked over at the three people around him and grinned. "We can also use that time to relax and settle down for a little while. I don't think I've met any of you formally yet, and if I'm going to be assisting your crew, I think that we should have a mutual amount of knowledge between us."

Dante wiped his hands and said "I'm Dante Vale. Doctor, served in the army before I was captured by a pirate crew and was nearly killed...then the Shadow Strike showed up and saved me" scarlet smiled and said "scarlet o'hare. Cook. Had my own small diner that was burned to the ground by pirates....I was was locked inside then....wolf showed up..." They looked down to see wolf fast asleep, looking like she needed it. Dante said. "Let's let her sleep, she looks like she's been to one piece and back. We can talk in the pub"

Hawking nodded at Dante and spoke before glancing at Wolfbane. "I"m Hawking. I'll tell you moer about me when we hit the bar, and hopefully we can arrange something and be off on our marry way soon." He smiled a little at Wolfbane as he went over to the door. "See you in a few, Maggs. Get better." He spoke softly as he headed out the door.

Scarlet pulled her jacket off and balled it up, putting it under wolfs head while Dante pulled a blanket over her. Then they followed hawking out, Dante shutting the door. Scarlet went behind the bar to serve as the men sat down. Dante looked at hawking and said "so why did you rescue the captain? You are a navy officer"

Making his way to the bar with Dante and Scarlet, Hawking smiled at the both of them and sat down at the bar. He shook his head at Dante with a small smile. "I was a Navy officer. I've been planning on defecting for a while now, and not only have I found a good crew so far, but another devil fruit user as well." He laughed a little as he remembered his first encounter with Scarlet. He pointed at the woman in question and laughed some more. "You should have seen the look on her face when I first saw her."

Dante raised an eyebrow and looked at her and scarlet frowned. "I was panicked. They were going to kill wolf in he morning and I had no way in. I was beside myself, you can't blame me for that" Dante chuckled and said "sounds about right. So what is your power?"

With his power being mentioned, Hawking sighed lightly and shrugged. "I've named it the Kage-Kage no mi, or the Shadow-Shadow fruit. To be honest, I'm not really sure about it's true power. I can travel through the shadows, link my shadow to someone else and control them for a limited time, and... drain life force from living beings..." He muttered the last part as he looked down at the ground.

Dante nodded, taking the whiskey scarlet poured for him. Scarlet looked at hawking and asked "what can I get you?" Dante drank from the glass then said. "I've heard of the skill...it's related to the Che Che fruit.." Scarlet said "that's the one wolf ate right?" He nodded, taking a drink again

"Just some water." He said plainly to Scarlet as he looked at her and listened to what she had to say. He hadn't heard of her specific fruit, but there were plenty of them that he hadn't heard of, since he didn't usual travel the grand line. "The Che Che fruit? What does that one do? I don't think I've come across it before."

Dante drank again then said "it's also known as the life life fruit...boss can control the life energy that's around her. And to call forth the soul of that energy. Like when she controls the energy from shadows, they look like wolves. Or wind, looks like hawks. Does that make sense?" Scarlet handed him a glass of water with a lime

[pyroman]

Hawking shook his head with a smile. "Not at all, but thanks for the explanation. I'll be sure to ask her when she's back in the land of the living." He picked up his water and grabbed the lime, squeezing it to get some of the flavor into the water. He could drink water just fine, but it if spilled all over him, then he'd be in some trouble. Slowly, he put the glass of water down and looked at the two.

They were both looking at him, Scarlet's head tilited. "Um...you got a drinking problem?" Dante drank from his glass again, shaking his head. Yep, things were going to go back to normal. At least he hoped they did...he missed the crew. But he had a small feeling that things would never go back to how they were. After all, one of them was never coming back.

[pyroman]

Simon didn't believe Dante at all, and slowly reached to grab his drink. "Alright Dante. I think that's enough for you. You need to stay sobered up if something happens to Maggs." He spoke with a little worry in his voice as he reached for Dante's drink.

Scarlet caught Hawkings hand and shook her head, Hawking not even hearing him. She said "His just in his zone...it takes more to get to get him wasted...besides, your the one holding your water like it was poison" Dante tapped the glass, lost in his thoughts.
