Angel's and demons had been at war for as long as both races had been around. Battles here, battles there, but never a full out war. Until now, that is. The war ragged hot, and terrible. Both sides put all their power between it, fighting on the very place they both wish to rule. Earth.

They seemed not to care for the humans themselves, but rather seemed focused on killing the other. Destroying the other race. Death's started to pile up.

Niesha, a warriors daughter, blood of an archangel, had been prepared to fight her whole life. She had trained since she was five, and had earned a blade to call her own. She had been on Earth mere weeks when she had her first kill. She had expected to feel fulfilled for killing the vile demons, instead she felt wrong. Since that day, she avoiding fighting as much as she could, for she didn't seen what would be gained by this war. As far as she could see, both races were on the path to total annihilation, and the humans were in the middle, trying to survive. This wasn't honorable, this fighting, like she had been told it would be. No, this fighting was just that. Fighting.

She instead trained troops, and went scouting. At the present time, she was sitting in what was deemed her home, a small apartment in a building that many angel's occupied. She stared at her wall, thinking. She didn't know how much longer she could stand this war, and just wanted it to stop.

Damien, demon born, did enjoy fighting. He was born to a demon mother and father. He enjoyed the war between his kind, and the Angel born. And yet, he thought it was worthless. To him, there always had to be angels. It was just a balance thing. What would demons do, without Angel kind?

He walked across a field, pondering this. He had a broad sword strapped to his back, and his dark hair fell in his eyes, which he brushed away. You wouldn't tell by looking at Damien that he was a demon. Many times he had been told he "Had the face of an angel" to which he had always laughed.

Zofia had it worse then most angels for the simple fact that she was suppose to be a guardian angel and now was forced to fight which was far from what she was use to as well as against her very nature. The humans that needed her and others like her were now left in the dust with their world turned upset down and torn apart, fighting to survive a war they were never truly a part of. The people were just caught in the middle as both angels and demons fought over the Earth in a never ending fight it would seem. In Zofia's mind, this fighting would never stop because without darkness there is no light and with no evil then good would not be the same. It hurt her to kill weather it was a demon or not because she wasn't meant to spill blood but to heal or comfort in time of need.

She tried her best to avoid the fighting, healing other angels she found but what she learned early on when she arrived to Earth is that fighting could not be avoided forever. She had been healing a fellow angel when a demon had attacked her, leading to a fight with no outcome but the death of one of them and so to survive she had to do the very thing she had been against. Zofia still remembered the feeling of blood pouring onto her hands, the look on the demons face when she had stabbed him, and the worst of all...the gut twisting wrongness that waned to make her sick. Tears had spilled down her cheeks then as she made her way over to the other angel but it hadn't made her feel better when they had said she was amazing for killing that vile demon and saving their life twice. How could the other understand the pain she felt when doing that? There was no honor in this kind of fighting...innocent humans shouldn't have to suffer for a never ending war. A war that left many without a family no matter what race.

Nowadays Zofia lived like many other angels, a little apartment provided to call her own when she wasn't fighting. She was very different from how she had been in the past but only because she hid her feelings better then before. She was a skilled fighter now and could kill without tears or the look of emotion but that gut twisting feeling never had gone away. The only thing that helped lessen the pain was when healing others found hurt or dying. At the moment she was sitting on a park swing, hand on her sword as she took a moment to herself outside for once to just think and relax.

Vincent had no problems attacking angels and even saw a thrill in doing so. Angels had taken everything from the demons for far to long and he was sick of it just like the rest. True, there always would need to be angels but that didn't mean many of them had to survive. He had never taken the time to really ponder on the issues about the war and just fought for the hell of it. He had to admit that every once an awhile he found himself bored with this continuous on going fighting because there was nothing new to it. They killed but more would come and even if you changed it up a bit, getting creative with weapons only lasted so long.

Those were the things that had popped into his mind recently instead of truly enjoying the fighting like usual. It had made him ponder if there would ever really be a winner or a lessening of the enemies sides because there sure wasn't less demons roaming around. It irritated him to think this way but it was how it was. Vincent growled as he laid back on his bed, running his fingers through dark auburn red hair as he looked to the ceiling for answers that would probably never come to him. "I need to get the hell out of here." he stated before pushing himself off the bed. He quickly grabbed his weapon and headed out the door, chasing away his thoughts or at least tried to.

Damien looked up at once as he heard the swing, saw the Angel-for what else could she be? The humans tended to avoid public places now a days, not wanting to get caught up in the Angel and Demon war. They were never safe, of course, but humans had a way of putting those sort of thoughts aside.

Damien licked his lips, pondering what he should do. He couldn't just stand there, and if he turned around, surely the Angel would notice. He didn't much relish having a blade in his back. Nor did he find he wanted to attack the Angel.

"Stuck between a rock and a hard place" He sighed to himself, and continued to walk. Perhaps the Angel wouldn't notice him.
Niesha found that she couldn't stay in her apartment any longer, feeling like the walls were closing in on her. Grabbing her blade, she started out, practically leaping down the stairs n her eagerness to get out. When the fresh air washed over her, she took in several deep breaths, feeling better. She buckled her blade to her hip, and walked down the street.

She wsn't expecting to be attacked, yet she still looked about as if she were being followed. She just walked, not knowing where she was going, jut walking. She didn't know what she was going to do, but she knew she couldn't do this any longer. Nor did she want to return to heaven.

She let out a frustrated growl, and started to run.

Zofia hand gripped the hilt of her sword tighter as she felt the presence of a demon nearby and determined that it was probably somewhere behind her since it was usually where they attacked from. The demons she had dealt with usually attacked to fast for her to really sense one being there in the first place so she was confused on why this one was just standing close by or maybe was it watching to see if her guard would drop. The last thing she felt like doing at the moment was fighting when all she had wanted to do out here was get some peace. If she was attacked first then she would fight but other then that she had no intention to do anything to this demon and maybe any other that left her be.

She slowly turned her head to look in the direction of the demon that had continued to walk on by instead of attack since to her that was a rare sight indeed. Her blue eyes took in his appearance as she pushed some of her platinum blonde hair behind her ear to get a better view. He didn't even seem like a demon to her if you were just looking at him but she knew that looks could be very deceiving.
"I'm not going to attack you." Zofia spoke allowed as she turned to face forward again as if she hadn't said anything and started to gently rock herself back and forth in the swing.

He didn't where he was going and he wasn't really paying attention to all that was around him either. Vincent just let his mind drift through his thoughts as his feet went almost on autopilot and just continued to roam the city. It was a long time before he took notice of what was around him, not even sure where he had ended up either. It wasn't look before he sensed an angel, sighing in defeat at the thought of fighting right now. He looked around, noticing an empty alley way and slipped into it, leaning up against the wall calmly once he was deep enough in to not be spotted instantly. It they looked for a fight then he would defend himself but right now it was all so boring. It was no fun to kill angels anymore...but that didn't mean he could up and stop unless he wanted to return to Hell which Vincent could honestly say wasn't that appealing.

Damien stopped to stare at her once more. Her blue eyes, and strange coloured hair were apeasing. He shifted, and frowned when she said she wasn't going to attack him. Was she playing him, trying to see if he was a fool, if he would believe her?

He shifted, wary, but something made him believe her. He cleared his throat, and said, "I am not going to attack you, either, little Angel" his voice was musical, as if it were silk made into noise. "What is an angel doing out by herself, in such a dangerous world?" He asked, giving her a smirk, then he went up to her, leaving his weapon were it was.

"I'm not going to hurt you, little angel" he said, placing his hands on the swings chains, and giving her a slow, deliberate push, throwing her out of her gentle rhythm, as if he was nothing more then a mere human. It wasn't often that he came across an angel that didn't want to kill him, and there was something about her that just made him want to push her. "I've killed enough, I think, that I can spare one angel"
Niesha eventually fell into a walk, still not knowing where she was going, but knowing she just wanted to find a place where she didn't have to worry about fighting, even for five minutes. This was ruined by the fact that she could sense a demon,

she yelled in complete and utter frustration. "You may as well bloody come out, I can sense you there, daemon" she said, yet she didn't go for her weapon. Why was the demon hiding? It didnt make sense? She looked about, and turned towards an ally, sensing it there.

She was startled at the melodic voice that answered her and more over told her that he would not be attacking her either. It might be because she was finally going crazy or maybe she just didn't care what happened anymore but she believed him. Zofia tilted her head back slightly, thinking of how to answer the question as he moved closer to her. She noticed the weapons left behind and let go of her own in favor of holding the chains of the swing as she replied," I would say praying but that sounds a bit...cliché. I was more or less wishing and trying to be away from everything for a bit of peace."

Zofia felt herself becoming a bit nervous at feeling him so close but relaxed a bit after the reassurance that he would not hurt her. It wasn't more then a few second later that she had to grip hold of the swings chains a bit harder, surprised at the sudden push of the swing that threw of the pace she had set. A true smile lit up on her features at his last words before she replied," I think I can spare at least one demon. I am tired of all this death that leads to no end."

Vincent could have smacked his head into the brick wall in front of him at the utter frustration he felt. Couldn't he just go for a walk and forget about this war without having what was suppose to be his enemy appear. It seemed the angel wasn't going to just continue on and leave him be even though that was his wish. He sighed as he felt the angel come closer to his resting place, leaning against the wall calmly as he glanced over at the entrance of the alley. "I hate to break it to you but I am not going to come out when ordered and certainly not by an angel. The only reason I hid in here was to get away from your kind, I am hardly in the mood to fight but I will if you insist on it. I just wanted a little peace..." he replied back, the announce clear in his deep voice but it held no malic and he was for once being completely honest.
Vincent didn't want to attack or even harm this angel but he wasn't going to roll over and die either if the other wanted to attack him so badly.

"I would say praying but that sounds a bit...cliché. I was more or less wishing and trying to be away from everything for a bit of peace"

Damien threw back his head and roared with laughter at that, continuing to push the angel, slowly and gently so as not to send the little angel flying. Her smile seemed to brighten the world, and he had to take a slow breath, shocked at how he respond to it with his own smile. Angel's weren't so bad, after all.

"I think I can spare at least one demon. I am tired of all this death that leads to no end" He chuckled once more.

"Oh, little Angel, the fighting has no meaning, or no reason, and it will have no end" He said, shrugging, and caught the swing to stop the swing, and look at the angel. "Demons like to fight, and Angel's think they are right and moral. The fighting will not end, I fear, until one side gives in, and both are too stubborn to do so"

He shrugged once more, "My name is Damien, Little Angel. A pleasure to meet you, even if you were praying" he sat down on the swing next to the Angel, offering her a smile.
Niesha sighed, unsure what to do when the Demon didn't seem to unsure, until. "I hate to break it to you but I am not going to come out when ordered and certainly not by an angel. The only reason I hid in here was to get away from your kind, I am hardly in the mood to fight but I will if you insist on it. I just wanted a little peace...

She frowned, wondering if this was a trap or not. She hesitated, "You don't want to fight?" She asked, relief evident in her voice, with a tone of wariness as well, not taking her hand off her weapon. "Or is this just a trap you are trying to lure me into?"

She watched the ally, prepared for him attacking, shaking slightly...

She loved hearing him laugh which actually surprised her but at the same time it wasn't a sound she heard very often anymore which just made her smile more. It was nice to talk to someone and have them smile at you without having to hide what you are truly feeling. She listened to the demon's words as he spoke of this war and all of them were completely true. He stopped the swing, making her tilt her head back to look at him as she gazed into his eyes as he continued to speak. She knew that the only way this war would end is with each side destroying each other at the same time because they were all too stubborn to just walk away.

A bright smile lit on her face as he spoke his name and introduced himself to her because it felt wrong to keep calling him demon in her head. " Pleasure to meet you Damien, I'm Zofia."

~*~

Vincent tilted his head at the tone in the angel's voice as she replied to his statement. The tone she had rang with relief against a fight instead of the usual tone that suggested that fighting was what was desired, not peace. The angel, of course, was wary of the fact that this could be a trap which meant the other wasn't stupid. He could see her now from the darkness as she watched the alley, still waiting for an attack that wasn't going to happen.

He carefully pushed off the wall, walking slowly out of the alley until he was in the light but stayed back a bit to make sure he wasn't double crossed. He didn't want to be put into a trap either. " I don't want to fight. If I wanted to lure you into anything then I would not have answered and let curiosity get the best of you. Why do you not want to fight? If you did then surely you would have attacked by now, right?"

"Zofia" Damien said slowly, nodding. "Well than, little Angel. What are we doing here then?" He asked, pushing himself on the swing almost absentmindedly as he studied Zofia. He had rarely been in close quarters with an angel and not killed them before, so he was taking the chance to watch one.

"A demon that doesn't want to kill an angel, and an angel that doesn't want to kill a demon" He said, "We must be a rare breed" He said musingly, shrugging as he continued to swing. As he swung, he didn't take his eyes of Zofia.

He was quite interested in the way she sat there, head tilted back, and staring at him. It brought a smile to his face. He shrugged, "I bet its easier being someone who doesn't want to fight with the angels, than it is with the demons" He said after a minute, and looked away, giving a sigh.
Niesha watched, listened, as she heard the Demon move, seeing him step out into the light. He seemed wary, just like she was, but he had a point. Still, she watched, ready just in case he was just playing with her. If that was the case, then this cat would find out that this mouth had teeth.

"It could be a trap" She said with a shrug, "I'm just tired of fighting, it just seems pointless" She said simply, shrugging, letting her eyes dart around quickly, but she didn't sense anyone else with them.

She watched him, frowning slightly. "Why do you not want to fight, Demon?" she said

"A rare breed indeed." she spoke with a smile, watching him closely but not because of fear but for the simple reason that she had never been this close to a demon before. They usually were dead from attacking her that she never got to really look at them or study them. It was definitely strange what they were doing and probably a bit traitorous to their own kind but it felt nice or even right to just talk and be comfortable in the balance of things.

Zofia straightened herself as he looked away with a sigh before looking forward, rocking herself gently." I don't know about that.If angels deny what is expect of them, then it is possible that they could have their wings ripped away and all the love we are shown is taken away because we will be shunned by all angelic kind as if we never existed plus we can never return home again. We must live a mortal life and greet death as a human. We have to change our whole lives and everything we are with a feeling of emptiness eats at us. Most end up in insane asylums because we say we were angels to people at one point or the cops lock them in jail, trying to find out where they came from because they don't exists. If it happened nowadays...I wouldn't want to know. Humans are very unlucky these days...."
"I have a name and here I thought angels were polite. The truth is I find it boring and unnecessary as it will never have an end. Neither side will ever give up and you not attacking me just proves that you must know the same thing." Vincent replied, noticing that she was looking around and keeping up a guard. It was a smart move because most demons would backstab willing to an angel that was alone, heck, maybe even to a group of angels. He was even a bit on edge himself and hoped other angels were not far behind this one and this was some kind of odd distraction or a change of tactics.

"Now, since I don't like speaking with people without at least a name to call them...My name is Vincent and what is yours? Or do you prefer I call you Angel continuously? If so then I can and will."
