[IC] On the run (Aisling and Jman221)

It was a normal winter day, the slopes had a fresh layer of snow on them and the air had a nice crisp feeling on it. Jack was on the top of the mountain and was about to go for his third run in the last hour. It was getting to the time where he had classes to teach, they were a bunch of teenagers, they came every snow season so he got to know them pretty well. He made his way down the slope, sliding through the trees and other early morning ski-ers. He found his small class and did a stop that made the snow cover his students.
"So young ones, who's ready to get started today?" he asked the group. All of them replied with an energetic "YEAH!" or "ME!" Jack smiled at them and took them up the slope to the top of one of the trick runs.
"Al right then, now you that you guys know the more harder techniques, who's ready to do some tricks?" They were a little hesitant to reply but they eventually gained some confidence.
A couple of hours later
"Sweet guys, you did really well today. Now I won't be seeing you guys tomorrow, You'll have Dedro tomorrow." He walked into the lodge and grabbed a large coffee. He walked towards the exit with his gear and spilt his coffee all over himself, due to a small child running in front of him. His arm burned and he grabbed it and what came next was very unexpected. His arm had an instant relief when he grabbed his arm and when he removed his hand he saw ice formed around where the burn was. He freaked out a little and when he got home later he grabbed his arm and put it to the stove which he lit and melted away the ice. What the hell was that? he thought to himself.

~A trip in the middle of winter is so stupid and useless to me. I can't ski, snowboard is boring and I don't like the snow at all. I am so stupid to be here even though I actually won this trip. 2 whole weeks here..... Might as well head down stairs and see what there is to do around here that does not involve dangerous activities.~ Noirin thought to herself as she finished putting the suitcases away in the spacious room that she was given.

Absentmindedly she blew a cobweb down from a corner of the room as she picked up her room key and tucked into her pocket. She didn't need a purse just a bit of cash so the purse was placed in the room safe before heading out of the room. After making sure that the door was locked, Noirin took her time walking down to the main floor. She enjoyed the various art works on the walls and the view out of the window but the most interesting things was to people watch over the balcony where she could see the what was going on in the community room. She leaned on the railing as she watched the quiet entertainment below her. The children were quite active, in fact so active that one ran into a man who spilled some hot drink on his arm but he moved so quickly out of her sight that she thought that he must have gone to the front desk to complain about the children.

Noirin headed downstairs to see if the man was ok or not and perhaps smooth out any conflicts that may happen between the lodge and the man. Once she was downstairs she saw no one who actually looked even remotely like the man who got the hot drink spilled on himself. She wandered about doing absolutely nothing until it was time for dinner.

Jack made his way into his bedroom and got changed into something a little more casual than his snow gear. He made his way downstairs to the restaurant, he ordered his usual meal and made his way to his usual table. He noticed the kid from earlier who ran in front of him and felt a little annoyed that he had to stare at him for the remainder of the night until he finished his meal. It arrived shortly after and Jack started eating at a normal pace, he kept looking around at the other tables and saw couples, families and friends all enjoying their night and Jack just smiled and gave the occasional wave back to either other staff members or his students.

Noirin went into the dining and to her dismay it seemed that every table had people around it. She glanced about to see if there was someone eating alone and she saw the man from earlier. She smiled as she walked over to his table.

"Since most of the tables are full, may I sit with you for this meal, please?"

Jack was surprised at the question but smiled.

"Yeah go ahead, it's no problem to me. I'm Jack By the way."

[Aisling]

Noirin smiled as she sat down across from Jack.
"I am pleased to meet you. Jack. I do hope that you have recovered from the burn that you got with the hot coffee earlier."

Jack kept the same smile but was panicking on the inside. He thought that no one saw that but he just nodded.
"Yeah at first it hurt but I got it treated when I got home." he started thinking of some reasons to change the subject.

[Aisling]

"I am glad of that part...... What is good here along the line of beef or perhaps fried chicken?" Noirin asked noticing his discomfort in the subject. Perhaps she should have waited a bit before approaching the subject. She became a bit embarrassed and heat radiated from her body into the room. Quickly she reversed the heat with a cold breeze as she read the menu.

Jack swore he felt an unatural heat but disregarded it as the temperature returned to normal.
"Their fried chicken isn't that bad, but the beef rumps are to die for." he said with a warm smile.
His hands felt cold though, he looked at them and noticed small loose peices of ice on his fingers and ignored them and wiped them off with a napkin.
He waved the waiter over and ordered a drink then turned to the girl sitting across from him and asked.
"So what are you going to have?"

"I love fried chicken and mashed buttery potatoes. I think that I will start off with a cappuccino and perhaps a fruit compote if they have it." Noirin smiled as she decided.
"I am alone here so I need some advice if you are willing to give me some. I am not familiar with this lodge nor am I a fan of snow. What is there to do that does not involve snow in any way?"
