[IC] Young Justice: New Beginnings

[Kitty]

Hayley nodded and left walking into the streets. As she walked people would look at her and cower back, in this part of town she was known as someone to not mess with. Hayley soon arrived in a better part of town and pulled out what money she had left from when she took it with her when leaving her apartment. She headed into the cheapest place she could find and went up to the cashier and place an order before going and sitting in the corner. She let her light hair out and it fell in waves onto her shoulders and back. Her purple eyes surrounded by dark makeup that made her even more intimidating as she waited for her number to be called.

[Demon Shinobi]

Jason was waiting for his order when a girl walked in. She looked... Somewhat familiar. But why? "Oh whatever." He said calmly as he sat at a table near a window. It didn't feel right. He'd come here so many times and watched Nate scarf down 20 burgers at a time. "What the hell Nate? Who said you could die?" He asked himself in a bit of a whisper.

[Kitty]

Hayley had gotten up to get her order and was returning to her seat when she overheard someone whisper something, 'What the hell Nate? Who said you could die?'. This caused her to freeze, memories of her friend rushing through her head. She removed one hand from the tray and brought it to her head where she was developing a sharp headache. 'Am I doing the right thing? Is this what he'd want me to do...?' she thought asking herself as she fought back slight tears. The balance of her tray was now off with the removal of her hand and the food slipped off falling to the floor. All of that had happened within only a few seconds too. "Shit..." Hayley muttered as she bent down to pick up her now inedible food.

[Demon Shinobi]

Jason heard the commotion just as he was called for his order. He was quick to grab it and place it on his table before kneeling to help the girl. "Hey... You alright?" He asked as he tried to help her clean up.

[Kitty]

"Yeah." Hayley said quickly before getting everything back on her tray and throwing it away seeing as it was ruined now. Hayley sighed, well there goes my last meal for a little while. She really wanted to punch something due to anger but she couldn't, not in a public place.

[Demon Shinobi]

"Hey if you want you can have some of my food. I ordered a little too much anyway." Jason said looking at the the table where he'd placed his tray. It was a bit much. Of course, he ate that much because he and Nate would have contests. He always lost... He chuckled a bit at the thought. "Seriously though. You can have some." He added as he sat back down. Now that he thought about it this chick seemed familiar.

[Kitty]

Hayley was starving but she was scared of what deathstroke would say. But of course her nicer side only seen by a select few along with her hunger won, she wasn't that scared of Deathstroke. "Uh, are you sure? I don't want to eat what you paid for... It seems rude..." she said looking at him with purple eyes.

[Demon Shinobi]

"I'm sure if my bud were here he'd have just thrown it off my tray for you to eat so sit down." Jason said laughing a bit. He was still trying to figure out where he knew this girl from. "Just take and enjoy." He added with a smile.

[Kitty]

"Umm thanks I guess..." Hayley said sitting down, "I'm Ha- Heather" She said quickly changing her name. She took a small amount of the food and ate it silently. "Thanks again." She said between bites.

[Demon Shinobi]

"No problem." Jason said before it dawned on him. He stopped eating and stared at her. "Um..." No he couldn't be right. He sighed and shook his head continuing to eat. But every so often he'd glance up at her.

[Kitty]

Hayley being who she was did notice the looks he gave her so when she finished she looked straight at him. "Why do you keep glancing and staring at me?" she asked bluntly crossing her arms over her chest.

[Demon Shinobi]

"You just look like someone I kind of know." Jason answered with a bit of a nervous laugh. "Sorry." He apologized for staring at her. Now that he thought about it... the voice was the same wasn't it? Right?

[Kitty]

"I didn't know alot of people have purple eyes, it's a rare genetic thing so you must either be a lucky person to know them or you know a lot of people." Hayley said trying to advert his attention from thinking about who she was. She didn't recognize him but she didn't want to risk it.

[Demon Shinobi]

"Well ya see I met her at one of those Masquerade ball things." Jason lied. He guessed all heroes had to be good at lying because they ended up needing to cover things up a lot. "So she had a mask on and I didn't see her eyes. It's the hair. Pretty face. Voice." He picked apart things about her still trying to figure it out. "She stole my heart." He put a little extra emphasis on the word stole to see if he could get a reaction out of her.

[Kitty]

Hayley clenched her teeth when he spoke of the mask then her knuckles clenched when he emphasized 'stole'. 'So... its GL...' she thought as she stood up and left without another word. She hurried away as she focused on making it to a place where she could easily escape or quickly place her mask on her face.

[Demon Shinobi]

That was all he needed. jason jumped up and immediately followed her. "Hey wait a minute. We need to talk." He said quickly. He couldn't let her get away, but it wasn't like he could suit up right here. And he still didn't know why she was so familiar even knowing she was the one from the lab. Even then he felt that he knew her.

[Kitty]

"About what. About the fact that you attacked me earlier and then I knocked you out. Maybe you should leave me be so the same thing doesn't happen again..." Hayley said as she continued walking, her back to him. "Great, my brother and deathstroke will kill me for my secret identity being seen by none other than GL jr, nate's old friend....." She muttered softly hoping he wouldn't over hear her.

[Demon Shinobi]

Admittedly Jason hadn't been paying much attention, but he did hear one thing. "Nate's old friend." She knew... "Oh don't tell me it's you!" He said quickly connecting the dots. She was the red head. At least he thought it was her. It had to be her. "Now I'm definitely not letting you go. We need to talk about this."

[Kitty]

"Yeah I'm the one who stole the thing earlier and knocked you out... I thought we went over that already...." Hayley said avoiding the obvious as she picked up speed. They were now in the more rundown and dangerous area of the city, not many street lights were around this area either.

[Demon Shinobi]

"You know what I mean Red." He said quickly still following her as he matched her speed and reached out for her shoulder.
