[OOC] A Symphony of Elements

A place to discuss our Legend of Korra RP.

General starting premise is that we start on the cusp of season one ending. Korra had fought Amon and won but at the cost of her fire, earth and water bending. She and everyone travel back to her home to restore her bending. Katara has failed to help and Korra decides to just return to Republic City to not only refine her air bending but to get in touch with her other bending at the request of Avatar Aang. In the meantime, Asami and Mako are patching things up while Bolin tries to support Korra while applying to become an officer under Lin's leadership. While Lin's bending has been restored, Korra's has not. In the background, Asami is soon approached by twins Xano and Xana. Xana, is the female twin use uses fire bending, she is more mellow and laid back. Xano is the male who tends to call the shots, he is a water bender who has helped Mr. Sato escape prison in order to capture bending and sell them to those deemed worthy of bending.

While Mr. Sato and Xano and Xano talk to Asami, they discover she has fire bending from her grandmother on her father's side. With some aid, she is able to boost her fire bending capabilities while also being given injections to become a water bender. Unbeknownst to her, Xana wishes to use her as a weapon to defeat Avatar Korra who would be their biggest enemy. Meanwhile other issues come to light when Asami tells Jinora in secret, about her new skills. Lin and Tenzin are soon brought into the mix as more medical hijinks ensue.

A very very rough and rushed idea of what we've discussed so far. Yes, I've left some things out, glossed over stuff but the general idea is all we need to start.

I will be playing: Asami, Bolin, Lin and probably Jinora.

You'll be playing: Korra, Mako and Tenzin and possibly a female or male OC.

We'll likely share: Mr. Sato, Xano, Xano etc.

Since it was your suggestion that we stay at the water tribe village for a night, I'd suggest you kick us off but I don't think you can since I made the OOC. So how would you like me to start?

Sorry it took me so long to post, school being school.

As for me not starting, I didn't want to commit to a post while the site was still being worked on in case something went wrong once again. Seeing as it seems he's got everything secure, I think I'm ready. I'll welcome you to kick us off then, as you seem eager.

My original intent was to begin us about an hour after Korra had run off with Katara unable to restore her bending. She would be mourning what happened in silence and I'll work on her feeling Aang and addressing the task he wishes for her to accomplish, this may or may not just be internal, and not openly verbal, so it may be kept inside. You could have Bolin meet up with her while she's in her Avatar State and being unresponsive. Tenzin would part from his family for the time being and speak to Lin, who he must thank from the bottom of his heart. This leaves Mako to approach Asami in silence, and address how much of a jerk he's been, and how she had every right to be angry.

Would you say it being evening, maybe near dinner time, would be good for this or would you prefer midday?

School is school I'm afraid, at least the site seems to be in enough order so I won't need to hesitate any more.

Once we get started, getting your mind on them should be a little easier. I'll need to rewatch some episodes to get my Tenzin in order anyway. Take your time.

EDIT - Got a post up. I figure we could have Lin over for dinner at Tenzin's. Korra restores her bending, she extends an offer to Bolin to join the police? Meanwhile Mako and Asami have their talk through the door...?

Hey, tried to hit you up over Skype about it but you never seem to be around. Busy, I suppose, aren't we all these days?

Anyway, great idea regarding having Lin over. Tenzin's practically in a state of bliss with the way things are with his family and now with Korra, but I believe it more than reasonable he offers her a quick invitation to dinner. I can either have him do it before she left and before he went on the barge to the island, or he could come by later alone, assess the damage done in the battle for Republic City personally, and offer the invitation that way? Let me know how you feel about it. I think Korra would've been too excited about her new circumstances to help Lin, having her over for dinner gives the opportunity for her to correct that.

I'll have Mako read the atmosphere and give Asami some space, the drive over to her home would've spoken enough for him. Forcing Asami to continuously swallow how pitiful a guy he is probably wouldn't improve anything, so we could do a redone version of him outside of the washroom as she's leaving the shower since I liked that, or we could try him catching her as she's returning to her room from it, or so on.

I don't use skype much, probably better to talk on here anyway.

I figured Tenzin could head out and invite Lin himself, extend some friendliness there, if you wanted to bring Meelo (headache inducing) it could work as well. I figured it would have been too soon to have Korra just jump up and help Lin get her bending back, it may be a bit of an awkward moment for poor Korra but hopefully she does it with grace, even if they're still not on the best of terms.

As for Mako and Asami, she'd probably make herself something for dinner and leave some out for Mako, if you want him to come into the kitchen when she leaves, that's fine, otherwise he could head to her bedroom before she goes to sleep but that may come off as creepy/pretentious. I don't know. We can't exactly replicate what happened before but we can try.

Tenzin and Meelo it is.

I'll have him catch her before sleep, but what he can say that he hasn't already is still up in the air. He knows she has every right to be angry and that forgiveness won't come in a day, but the anxiety that comes with her loathing of him will put him a little on edge, that much I can promise you. From a third person perspective, he owned up to his mistakes very late, but still did it. It's really in Asami's hands for now unless he keeps butting in and forcing it, and that is too easily capable of backfiring. It'll be a long rest of the evening for him.

Loathing is a strong word. She's more offended by his actions toward Korra, and in turn his inattentiveness in their own relationship. She's more disappointed than angry. I mean maybe they need a big discussion instead of one talking and other listening? I wouldn't use the word 'fight' per say but Mako can only say so much and accept that Asami is still hurting and needs room to deal with her own issues.

Alright. Would you rather see this taking place a little before bedtime, or shortly after she finishes dinner?

Hmm...would there be a big pro/con for either timing?

Not that I can see, its just the setting I'm curious about. She could be more receptive before bed or when she's prepared to eat. I'd just want to know the best window of opportunity, the battles already pretty uphill to get back in her good graces.
