Surely there is no blame on Trojans and strong-greaved Achaians if for long time they suffer hardship for a woman like this one. Terrible is the likeness of her face to immortal goddesses. Iliad 3.156f trans. Lattimore.

Instructions
- Post your character sheet here using the template provided below.
- Please do not post anything else here, all questions and comments should go to the OOC thread.
- Usage of Hiders is encouraged, but not required.

Nation Sheet
Polis Name: Name of your city-state
Demonym: What your people refer to themselves. (e.g. Athenians for Athens, Spartans/Lacedaemonians for Sparta)
Location: Select a location for you city-state.
Government: (Please give a brief description of your exact governmental system, e.g. Democracy, Oligarchy, Tyranny)
History: Provide a brief (or not so brief) history of your nation.
Society: Please give a brief (or not so brief) description of anything peculiar of your city-state. What makes it unique from all the hundred other Greek city-states in the Aegean?
Supporting Gods: Pick three gods who your city-state worships above the others. Your city-state may worship the others, but these three are the most important three. You may pick the gods who are Pro-Trojan, but don't expect much aid on the battlefield from them (unless there is some divine lineage or something). You may also have one local deity count as one of the three supporting gods. However, local deities have a smaller sphere of influence (usually around the city-state) and can only influence areas outside their sphere of influence if that local deity has ties with one of the Olympians (cf. Thetis).
Religion: Please give a brief (or not so brief) description of the peculiarities of religion in your polis. Festivals? Temples? Etc.
Military: Provide how many soldiers and ships your polis has.
-X Soldiers (X at Troy)
-X Ships (X at Troy).

Military Rules
-You may not have more than 3000 men and 20 ships.
-If you have a high number in one category (~2500 men or ~15 ships), you must take fewer of the other category.
-Ships can only hold 120 men (not including important characters), so keep that in mind for how many men will be at Troy.
-You may if you wish distinguish what type of units are in your army, but all ships are just generic warships from the Homeric Greece Period.

Maps:
Right Click and "View Image" will provide a larger view.

Greeks = Green, Trojans and Allies = Gold, cross = dies (error by Nestor. Nestor does not die).

Character Sheet(s): List up to three important characters in this section. If you may list other characters at the end with a brief description, but these characters will not get stats. You may also start with one character at level 2 and level 3. This means that that character gains 1 and 2 (respectively) level benefits.

Age: How old is your character(s)?

Instructions for Character Creation
Classes:

Attributes:
You must place your two highest rolls on your class' primary attribute.

Attribute Scores:
1-2: -4 | 3-4: -3 | 5-6: -2 | 7-8: -1 | 9-12: 0 | 13-14: +1 | 15-16: +2 | 17-18: +3 | 19-20: +4

After you assign your attribute scores, you may remove 1 or 2 points from one attribute to add the same amount to another. You cannot raise a stat above 18 through this means.

Calculation of Other Stats: All formulas add the mod (+Y), not the score (X)
Melee: Might + Skill + Luck
Missile: Skill + Wits + Luck
Initiative: 10 + Skill + Wits
Defense: 12+ Luck + Helmet mod + Breastplate mod + Shield mod
Hits: 12 (10 for Archer Class) + Might

Athletic Prowess: Might + Skill + Luck
Danger Evasion: Wits + Skill + Luck
Mystic Fortitude: Will + Wits + Luck
Physical Vigor: Might + Will + Luck
Personal Charisma: Will + Grace + Luck

Equipment
The three important characters begin with the starting equipment that is lists under each classes. In addition to this, you may select three additional items and distribute those items to any of your characters (give all three items to one character, give one item to each character, etc).

Equipment also has weight. The amount of weight that each character can carry is equal to their Might Score (X). To calculate weight, add 10 to the sum of the weight of your equipment.

If the total weight is greater than your character's Might Score (X), your character is considered encumbered. This just means that the character's equipment is weighing the character down, but not enough to hinder combat. You should just be aware that someone who is encumbered should not be moving as fast as someone who is not.

If the total weight is twice as great as your character's Might Score (X), your character is considered fully encumbered. This usually happens when a character is carrying another character. Movement is greatly hindered and the character's initiative score is cut in half (round down).

When a character class stats that the class begins with either a breastplate or a shield, you may choose to equip the breastplate or linothorax and the round or peltast shield.

Items
-Dagger 0 weigh (wt.)
-Sword 1 wt.
-Barbarian Weapon 2 wt.
-Spear 2 wt.
-Javelin 1 wt.
-Bow 1 wt.
-Sling 0 wt.
-Round Shield 2 wt. +2 Defense
-Peltast Shield 1 wt. +1 Defense
-Helmet 1 wt. +2 Defense
-Breastplate 3 wt. +2 Defense
-Linothorax 2 wt. +1 Defense (+0 Defense when used with Battle Fury or Battle Grace)

Polis Name: Skepsis
Demonym: Skepsiseans
Location: The small peninsula south of Athens (modern Vouliagmeni)
Government: Elective oligarchy of ten philosophers headed by a sole philosopher-king. The oligarchy can collectively veto the king's legislature and decisions with a vote of 60% or more in favor of the veto. The oligarchs are voted in by the people through an alternative voting system after a number of debates and speeches. These elections are often for one position at a time, as multiple seats being open in the oligarchy at once is rare. The requirements for candidacy are thus: be a citizen of Skepsis for at least four years; have at least two years of formal secondary education; pass the written examination; and win two out of three matches against other potential candidates in a game of Kopis.

History: Skepsis was founded by a society of like-minded individuals who lived in pursuit of philosophy and knowledge of the heavens. They turned the few remains of an ancient structure into a private retreat, and soon turned the retreat into a second home. They grew crops and expanded what was now a village. The progression was natural, as they moved from their home city to live permanently among their friends. Their society grew as they made trips to the nearest city for trade, and eventually, after decades, the village became a self-sustaining town of its own, and decades more passed as it turned into a city.

Society: Skepsis is a place of learning and thought, where philosophy dominates most aspects of life. While formal education is still very limited, the populace of Skepsis is more learned and intelligent in general than many other city-states. Commoners and masters alike seek to improve their craft, for renown or simply better living. Discussion and debate are common, and not simply limited to talk of lifestyle and home troubles. Skepsis is a city where the low-class bow their heads and work for their next meal or the replacement of cutlery, and where the high-class do not lounge in excess without the occasional discussion of meaning and matters of celestial nature. Skepsiseans seek the improvement of not only their lives, but the lives of humanity as a whole.

Supporting Gods: Athena, Hephaestus, Hermes
Religion: Skepsiseans perform their prayer and worship of the city's primary three deities in three-walled temples throughout the city. The specifics of each individual's worship vary, but tributes are often offered in the form of symbolic baubles and foodstuffs. Regarding prayer, the gods are more often called upon to witness events than they are called upon to act in said events.

Military:
-1000 Soldiers (500 at Troy)
-15 Ships (5 at Troy).

What I got so far

Nation Sheet
Polis Name: Naxos
Demonym: Naxian
Location: The island of Naxos in the Cyclades Islands group.
Government: Elective Oligarchy
Two kings control the government of the state and control the economy, civil rights, and development.
A group of three head priest from the state’s three major deities control religious duties and often interfere in other duties
A council of retired soldiers (currently 5) that have reached the age of 65.
A large council of 69 randomly picked male citizens that vote on laws, motions, etc and help decided disputes.
History: The island city-state was named after the king that settled the island.

Naxos and 300 men, women, and children left the greek mainland from an unknown village pillaged near Laconia. Leaving on two ships brought with all their remaining items, they set sail for the east in search of a new home. As they left at dawn, the sun had begun to rise, the king seeing this as a sign, prayed to Apollo.

After spending months at sea, the people were losing hope till once again at dawn, the shining sun rose from the tip of what will soon be called mount Zeus. They docked and the remaining 150 travelers settled but shortly after building a village, King Naxos who had only ruled for a couple months died in peace. The people named their new home and the island after him.

Before King Naxos had died, he left twin sons at the age of only one months. The people were grateful of the king but a select few tried to seize power, leading to nearly a three years of disorder and many attempted assassinations of the twin boys. The people, tried of the fighting and fearing the life of the twin kings, settled a government which would later be adopted when the kings grew old enough to rule. (Look at Government except no two kings yet, only one head priest, smaller army council, and smaller citizens council)

Seeing the people unite, Dionysus appeared at the growing town one night during a great feast and announced that he shall be protecting the island and kings from any harm till they grew of age, internal and external. Later, the hero Theseus abandoned Ariadne on the island, Dionysus felled in love with her and stayed on the island even though the twin kings had already grown to an age that they could rule the island. Later Ariadne killed herself due to Theseus and Dionysus made her immortal and lived on the island as the island’s permanent protector, often visiting the people. With the kings fully grown and under Dionysus’s protection, the island entered an era of peace.

Years later, the island was ruled by the city-state of Naxos. The King of the Gods decided to visit the island and appeared on top of the mountain that the settlers had first seen when they arrived.
He was praised by the people and made one of the three major gods of the island, as a reward, he made the island flourish and it became more fertile than the surrounding islands. The island entered a golden age.

Even though Zeus and Apollo sided with the trojans, Dionysus who had grown popular with the people was neutral. This caused the island to remain neutral.

Society: The people of Naxos are extremely religious, the priest would nearly have more power than the kings if it wasn’t for the fact that the people are even more loyal to the kings then the gods. They seek to spread the influence of Dionysus to the surrounding islands, this causes neighboring islands to believe that Naxos is warlike. Men and Women are believed to have equal rights except in positions of power in the government and military. Women can still own land and hold positions of religious power which often are more powerful than military and even some government positions. While learning and philosophy is encouraged in the city-state, there are a few that believe the future of the island should be taught their religion over everything. Missing out on religious holidays is frowned upon except when caring for children. The social structure is more equal than other city-states but still have people in power. The kings are at the top, priest and priestess are right below them. Government and military leaders are below the religious positions, and the common citizens whether they specialists or common farmers are at the bottom except for prisoners and atheists that openly speak against the gods.
Supporting Gods:
Dionysus-Protector of the island, Zeus, and Apollo

Polis Name: Tracha

Denonym: Trachian

Location: Seriphos

Government: Meritocracy - Positions of power are held by the most skilled, wise, experienced and intelligent members of their respective field ie Doctors are in charge of healthcare, soldiers are in charge of the military

History: The true history of Tracha is lost in myth, and its minute effect on the surrounding world make it a little-known city. Because of its choice to not usually involve itself in "other people's buisness", it was a very unprecidented but welcome move when it promised to help Agamemnon and his followers capture Troy.
Society: Trachians are known - no, renowned - for their Nihilistic and chaotic views. Citizens are encouraged to learn and do as much as possible, as jobs and duties held in high esteem one day may vanish the next. They believe nothing has any true value or reason and if you trace everything back to its roots, it will eventually be born out of chance or randomness. The Senate changes just about every other week, as new people begin to outclass the older members. Everything is shared openly, and very little is judged poorly. For example, a known promiscuous woman is afforded the same respect as a prudent virgin. This encourages a lack of secrets amongst the people, as well as a heavy resistance to bribery.
Despite these somewhat dark views, they recognise what will benefit them and what will harm them. It is perfectly acceptable to tell someone you want to kill them - Trachians won't bat an eyelid, even the one receiving the threat. To actually kill someone will harm the Polis and will demand swift retribution, usually being condemned to go deep under the Temple to reclaim Eris' Golden Apple
Everyone, regardless of age, gender or nationality is treated as an equal.

Supporting Gods:
Eris, Godess of chaos and strife
Hypnos, god of sleep and dreams
Nyx, Godess of night

Religion: There is a temple rumoured to contain the mythical Golden Apple of Discord, used by Eris, but the depths of the Temple, which extend to cavernous caves underground, are rumoured to contain all manner of deadly creatures and madmen. This is typically where the violent and insane are sentenced to dwell. No-one has yet to obtain the Apple, and the one who does will be granted Tracha as an eternal and unquestioning gift. Both men and women may choose to willingly go and search but, oddly enough, there are few volunteers.
All of Nyx's children and allies are praised with the three aforementioned being held in highest esteem. When one enters the Temple, there are five chambers - a central chamber for normal worship, a chamber for each of the three major gods and a chamber restricted to Priests and Oracles. This last chamber also contains the entry to the Undercaves.
Because of the nature of Tracha, religious days are never set in stone. Most of the time, a Priest will overhear the Oracles talk about a religious ceremony and will declare it as appropriate. Attendance to the Temple is completely voluntary but almost all of Tracha attends at least weekly.

Military - 1500 Soldiers (750 at Troy)
20 Boats (10 at Troy)
