So I post WIP Paintings here instead of Gallery for my Spamily... O.o Ok, let's be truthful, I don't claim any of you... but it's my excuse to post this here. Unfinished, CS6 W/Mouse. A previous capture, and a more recent one...

You need the make the water mark bigger, it's not good enough to keep someone like me from stealing, and claiming as my own.

Don't paint with black or white -- they make your colors look muddy/dead. Take the guy's skin for instance... Using black to add in your shadows has caused your skintone to look very muddy and unrealistic. Only paint with colors that have saturation to them!

In real life there is actually never a true black or white color -- they are always reflecting or absorbing the colors around them, which then gives them their tint. When you add in either black or white to a colored painting, your eyes automatically know it looks wrong because you'd never actually see those colors in the real world. (Even a super dark area or a super bright area will always have some saturation to it.) Add your highlights and your shadows with a more lively color (rather than mixing in black or white ) and you'll add a definite notch of realism to your color work.

Hm. I'd suggest finding some reference of a shirtless guy in a similar pose to help you pin the anatomy down. (Right now it looks like you're guessing in some spots, rather than solidly knowing what things you're painting.)

I'll be interested to see an updated version. :D

I had actually planned on that. The body is no where near finished for me. Lol. I had actually just got done only adding a few details from the blob of colors it originally was before taking those snap shots. :) heck I can tell you right now which parts of the anatomy are wrong without looking at references. Cause they've been bugging the heck out of me looking at them. Lol.

But yea... I'll keep you updated.:)

Guru... Nat's actually being extremely helpful by warning you that people could steal your work, which is a serious problem for artists working through the net.

I appreciate your concern but the water mark is still there and if someone really wants to steal some unfinished work... Well... Silly them. Matter of fact... At this stage, I'd probably take it as a compliment.. Lol

I would steal that and hang it in my torture wall, for all the pre-cupcakes to see.
