In the past he served as a bodyguard at certain points when the king visited other kingdoms. More or less he's seen her once or twice and knows her trickery.

Jin didn't hear Korlash's warning about Alice. She was asleep. Add to that the fact that she's never seen a human woman wield a weapon before, and she's a sitting duck.

An explanation of how the army can't get in



The village is a rather open area, covered by an extreme density of trees, with only one opening available(Not counting the secret lake exit Korlash has.)

Are the trees very tightly packed? I mean, Jin is small... I was thinking she'd squeeze through once the village was safe.

they are pretty tightly packed, but not enough to where she can't squeeze through.

Do you have any ideas of how to continue the story after the invasion?

The king does something (poison, magic curse?) that ensures that even if the elves don't die today, they will in a very short number of years. Korlash feels responsible for bringing trouble, so he offers to go seek a way out. (Rare antidote, countercurse...) Jin, of course, is right behind him.

I love it. Gives me a chance to extend the land out even more, use a little creativity.

Also, yeah, sometimes coming up with something to write is pretty annoying. writer's block.

it's the fight scenes that throw me. i'm just not that good at them anymore.

Understandable. Fighting scenes are easier for me because I enjoy action stuff.

Okay so quick idea bounce. What about instead of the elves dying, how about the forest?

*nod* That makes sense too. It'd scatter the remaining people everywhere, and force them to live in a world they haven't been part of before. Korlash was lucky enough that he was young and adaptable when he got banished. Some of the elders will not be so fortunate.

If you want, we can lay off the action scenes for a little while and have more social development.
