It was a cold morning and DeathShadow was asleep in the Warriors den. He stayed at a distance from all the other cats. He was not the kind of cat that wanted to be pressed up agaisnt the others.
He twitched in his sleep moaning "No..," he moewed.
The black cat seemed to be dreaming of when he lost his brother Spirit, who had been a pure white cat. DeathShadow was a proud memeber of Shadow Clan. He had become hard and arrogant and mean since his brother had died.

Waking before the others DeathShadow slipped out on his own. He knew that he was on hunting duty today. He might as well start earlier, He sniffed around the area. He knew prey had been scarce lately. He wasn't one to eat that much anyways. But he had to provide for the clan. He knew they needed food. His ears twitched as he looked around. Some fresh kill would be nice he thought bitterly.
His black fur was blowing in the wind and he shivered. He knew that winter was coming.
The black cat snarled as he thought he sensed another cat. His fur was raised.

DeathShadow really did hate newcomers. He also had trust issues and took longer than most to trust anybody. He sniffed around again. His ears pinned back. "Show your self." He said angrily. He wasn't going to let an enemey onto Shadow Clan territory even if he had to chase them off himself.
He paced around a bit and narrowed his eyes staying alert.

Meanwhile, Hawksong was prowling about with her striking gaze that she would use to strike fear in kitten's faces. She had just come from a Twoleg place to steal the uneaten food from the kittypet tom who lived there and was chased off by him. Her plan to deceive him failed and she was unable to move about the cabin freely because he didn't fall for her seductive glance. She also tried to claw at him, and missed horribly. But he was unable to lay a scratch on her either, so in Hawksong's mind, she was victorious. Whatever. She didn't like dry food anyway.

Perhaps her attitude was why she was chased ou- I mean.. rejected by her long-term crush, Granitestorm, who she planned to pair with. Whatever though. Who needs him anyway? There was plenty of cats in the forest and she was young enough to keep looking. Though at these tough times, she wasn't particularly looking for a mate right now. She was looking for a meal.

As she entered the scene, the scent of a clan caught her nose. But so did the soft pitter-patter of a mouse. She hesitated, but then shrugged it off and descended further into the unknown territory, finally spotting the clueless vulnerable bodice of the tasty meal with a heartbeat. Crouching low, she would observe its movements and readied her stance to pounce... but suddenly, a voice broke the peaceful silence and the mouse scurried off into a hole. She yowled angrily and saw a black figure through the trees nearby, and finally showed herself. "Thanks a lot, mousebrain, you frightened my meal!"

The warrior stood proud. His gaze was almost threatening. He had a cold look in his icey blue eyes. The cat wasn't pleased to see a stranger on shadow clan territory. He glared at the newcomer.
DeathShadow seemingly laughed "I'm the mouserbrain? And yet you are in Shadow Clan territory." He knew many other clans and cats saw Shadow Clan as the enemy an untrustworthy. DeathShadow was flicking his tail in annoyance.
The cat seemingly smirked at her. He knew his arrogance put other cats off wanting to be his friend or even mate. The last cat that had tried to admit her feelings for him, he had rather cruely rejected.

"Who are you and why have you come here?" Deathshadow seemed rather confident. He was hardly ever scared. It wasn't like much could bother the young cat. He knew his nasty attitude just because he had lost his brother wasn't the right way to deal with things. The black cat knew no other way. He wanted to hide his pain from others. His brother had been too young to die at the time. he hated dogs for even killing his brother and hated Tigerclaw for leading his brother into that trap.
"Well speak up," he growled. He was ready to attack her if she pushed it.

Deathshadow was slowly getting closer. He looked rather annoyed still. His eyes hadn't left her. He would have thought she was a beautiful looking cat, if he wasn't so mean and angry, He knew the leader wouldn't be pleased that there was an outsider on his territory.
He tried to see what her clan scent was, he didn't seem to know. Was she a loner he thought.

With a low growl, the she-cat would arch her back to outshine him and display dominance. "ShadowClan? Pity," she scoffed. Hawksong had heard of such clan. As a kit, her mother told her that her sister abandoned RainClan for this male's clan. But who cares. If that was true and her aunt was still alive, she could care less. Better yet, she could care less about her entire family in general. In Hawksong's mind, they betrayed HER. They got it all mixed up. But who needs them anyway? She was on her own now without a responsibility or care in the world. There was no clan or father to push her around. This was the life.

"My name? I am not obligated to give you that information," she stated and suddenly lowered herself to a neutral stance. She would calmly circle him and stop when he face was at his flank. She brushed her tail over his nose as her tone of voice changed to seduction, "But if you must know... it's Hawksong. And I have come to please my starving stomach.." and quietly she'd unsheath a claw and sever a few follicles of fur from his flank. Quickly she'd step back and sit while flattening her auds.

"Woops," Hawksong murmured while putting on a fake innocent glare. With her striking green gaze, she'd look into his blue eyes and attempted to melt away the cold they contained. She would collapse on her side submissively and look up at him with big eyes. "You're not gonna hurt me, are you? You're far too strong and I wouldn't stand a chance.." and then a devious smirk etched across her black lips. She knew he wouldn't fall for it, but she was actually mocking him.

"Its not a pity, It has been my home since I was a kit, I am a proud Shadow Clan cat," The cat had once been a Rouge, He wasn't going to take insults from her. He was not going to let her insult his clan either.
He knew that if she was going to be this way infront of the leader, she would be in even deeper trouble. He smirked at the thought. That would be amusing he thought. The black cat knew his brother would be ashamed of his behaviour.

"Ohh not obligated... Your obligated as soon as you enter Shadowclan territory." He hissed. He wasn't liking her attitude. Not that his was the best either. He was always such a foul tempered cat.
"Well encase you haven't noticed prey is scarce and your on Shadow Clan grounds." He hissed "YOur breaking clan code by taking prey from here," he growled. He had his back arched. He circled her as well. He hissed when she pulled his fur.

He was getting more and more irriated, He lunged at her and pinned her down. "Big mistake," he dug his claws in "Clear to try that attitude with the leader, Oh that will be fun." There was a dark look in his eyes as he said that.
Deep down Deathshadow knew he wasn't that bad, He had trust issues and his nasty mean attitude was all but a mask to hide his pain. The cat suffered alot of nightmares and troubles since his brothers death. He would often think he was seeing things as well.

She hissed quietly as he pinned her rolled her serpentine eyes. "Pity that such clan has to deal with crowmeat like you!" and very gently would she push him off. As she got up, her rough tongue would clean the dust off of her silky coat. "Can't a loner get some food around here?" Hawk knew the code well, but assumed a pretty little Loner like her could ignore it. She didn't miss clan life. And she wasn't lonely. Just hungry all the time. And this male obviously wasn't going to empathize.

When she was finished grooming her fur, she would sit proudly and examine him thoroughly. "Take me to this leader of yours. I want to see how tough your clan is. Wanna see if you really are what everyone depicts you as." this time she really was serious. She wouldn't pull such acts in ShadowClan that she did in her father's clan. It was already enough having her entire family after her and she was not in the mood for more rivals. The she-cat was far too lazy to deal with two clans right now.

Hawksong then wondered what exactly she WOULD do as an observer in ShadowClan. If he even escorted her like she asked.. and what if the leader didn't allow it? She knew it was probably not allowed but maybe all she really wanted was someone to talk to, even just for a little bit. And without conflict because she had been getting into a heap of trouble lately..

"Ohh I am on the best warriors, so I would watch your tounge." He stated proudly. "Not in Shadow Clan territory." The black cat growled. "Its not my fault you left your clan or whatever." He clearly wasn't that impressed she was here.
He didn't like cats who ingored the code. Loner or not.
"I know some of Shadow Clan who would tear you to pieces for that and a shecat like you would easily be torn up by cats of blood clan." he flicked his tail still quite annoyed.

"Ohhh , Don't say I didn't warn you." Deathshadow smirked. He knew she would be in trouble. He also was interested to see whether she would be brave enough to behave that way infront of the leader. He knew she would be in trouble if she did.
"This way." he snapped. He shoved her and wasn't going to let her out of his sight.
The cat knew some cats were even meanier andmore dangerous than him. He wasn't as mean as he was deep down. He was also wondering if she would even follow him completly.

He really couldn't stand newcomers or rule breakers. His fur was sticking up. Deathshadow didn't want a fight, Not really. He was tired and weak. The cat hadnt eaten properly in awhile. He refused to take time off.
He bites her"Faster.!" he growled. He closed his eyes hoping the dizziness would pass.

"You watch your mouth. I didn't leave my clan and it's none of your business!" with a yowl, the fur on her neck and back stood on end. This was obviously a sensitive subject for her because the memories made her blood boil. But he didn't deserve to know that. Maybe not yet. Maybe not ever if he kept acting like this. Maybe she'd just kill him.. nope, that's a joke. She could never bring herself to do it so why think about such? Gah, oh well. She simply growled and muttered lowly to herself in protest. She was used to such attitude by her father and clan a-

Stop thinking about it, Hawksong thought to herself. She wasn't starting to regret her past decisions with RainClan, her home. She just wanted to forget everything and move on. It was bad enough what she had done.. she was lucky to have escaped as well. Oh, stop these thoughts! The she-cat would bow her head and grab a hunk of grass with her teeth and swallow. The foul tastes of everything in the terra would surely allow her to focus on that instead of her disrespectful past.

And then she felt him bite her. "Hey, I'm going!" with an aggressive flick of her tail she would attempt to smack him in the side and pin her ears back once more in slight anger and something clicked in her mind. This mysterious black cat assumed she'd be dealt with violently. But Hawksong was smart, and had other plans in mind. She was going to give him a show. Acting was her key.

"Why should I watch my mouth , when your the one in the wrong," The cat hissed. Deathshadow wasn't about to give up so easily. No she needed to learn her place in his opinion, "OH well I don't care what happened, You cant just go wandering into another cats territory, Did you sleep through your trainning mouse brain."
He growled. He wasn't in a very pleasant mood.
The cat shoved her again walking back to the camp.

Deathshadow snarled "Your two slow shecat,,, I know cats who aren't so mouse brained when in trouble." He was going to treat her harshly, Once back in the camp many other cats were staring and whispering,
Some seemed to hiss at Hawksong as she passed calling her an intruder.
Deathshadow saw that some cats had returned wounded and were been tended to by the medicine cat, He wondered what had happened and knew he would have to ask about that later. One other shecat was glaring at Deathshadow, one of the ones he had rejected, He knew that they all got over it.

Rolling her eyes, she'd smile at the cats. She could care less about their hostile energy and began to strut proudly, tail held high. Seeing a particular cat, she'd quote a Twoleg, "If you look you gotta buy, honey," and then a small hiss escaped her maw. Feeling slightly uncomfortable, her proud posture subsided and she began to skulk. Her ears were flattened atop her skull and a rather angry feeling grew deep within her soul. Anxiety replaced the that her eyes normally cradled.

The judgmental scrutiny of the crowd was starting to get to Hawksong. Multiple hisses and snarls made her fur stand on end and then came a yowl resembling a battlecry. "Leave me alone!" the Bengal would hiss and then proceed to travel alongside the black tom, trying to hide in his shadow.

The hostile energy was a parallel episode. She experienced this in her own clan, five moons ago. Hateful eyes everywhere. Though she would assume now one in ShadowClan hated her; they didn't know her. Hawksong knew they were wary and would not accept her, being a longer and all. Not only would she be able to show Deathshadow the other side of her; she'd show the entire clan.

Deathshadow growled " show respect, your in trouble," he smirked a bit . "And stop whining like a kittypet." He didn't care if she wanted to be left alone. She was in the wrong and a stranger in thier lands, He knew the others had right to judge.
He hissed a bit. "After this is over I am chasing you out!!"

He was sure that the other cats would expect her to be chased out. Though it was the leaders decision on what was going to happen. He took her to the leader and shoved her a bit.
A burmese cat came out of his den , He tilted his head and was looking straight at Hawksong. "So this is the intruder,?" He spoke firmly and wouldn't let her cause trouble. He had been able to hear the other cats talking about her.
"Who are you?" he was speaking to Hawksong, his eyes were focused on her.

Deathshadow was looking at the leader. "This is Hawksong,. Found her hunting on Shadowclan territory." He smirked. He was quite amused. He sat down waiting to see what would happen. He knew he was tired still.
The cat was doing his best to stay awake. If he fell asleep though, he wouldn't care as he knew the leader would deal with Hawksong. Though he did want to see the leaders decision and Hawksong's reaction.

As the leader showed himself, all hell broke loose.. in her mind. It was like deja vu. She had seen a cat of his description before, and she knew the memory would bring jealousy. There was a male in her previous clan who was the same breed as ShadowClan's leader, though he had bright blue eyes. His name was Soilface. And he was Hawk's best friend when they were apprentices. But as they were crowned as warriors, she immediately began to care for him, only to have her heart shattered. Soilface loved her sister Fireclaw, and you could imagine how betrayed she felt. That was the first reason why she hated her family with a passion.

But Hawksong looked beyond her memories. And now, she only saw a leader who deserved respect, and pushed away his resemblance. Flashing a miniscule & subtle sly smirk to Deathshadow, she'd bow her head before the leader so respectfully and would mew softly. "Yes, my name is Hawksong. Previous warrior of RainClan. My apologies, I was oblivious to the scent of your clan and I was desperate for food. That explains my bitterness towards your loyal warrior and your lovely clan." Her eyes then shot over to Deathshadow. They held sincerity, surprisingly. It looked genuine. It was hard to tell if she was faking it.

"Do forgive me, strong warrior. I did not mean a word I said," maybe she was indeed putting on a show, but in her mind, it was a pretty good show at that. "I am afraid I never got your name. May I have it so I can apologize formally?"

The leader was looking at her "Duststar," His chocolate brown fur seemed to be shining in the sun. His yellow eyes were focused on her. Duststar was focused on her. He hoped that she knew she was in the wrong.
Deathshadow huffed, "Yeah right." he said not wanting to believe her anyways. He was growling a bit. He wondered what the leader was going to say. He knew the worst Duststar could do was offer her a home.

"Well you know what you did was wrong, I should have my warriors chase you out, However... I can offer you a place here," Duststar looked at her "You seem like a touch warrior." He replied.
Deathshadow growled not liking that choice. He had his ears lowered back against his head.
The black cat was looking at the Burmese. He was in a bad mood.
"However, refuse my offer and you will be chased out and forbidden to return here, And being a rouge is dangerous with Blood around, He won't spare any cat and alone we cant offer you protection. " He replied.

Hawksong was only half-listening, being so focused on how well she had played her sweet-and-innocent role. She saw the boiling expression on Deathshadow's face and smirked with her eyes. She couldn't wait to shove it in hi- wait. What did Duststar say? Did he just- what? Her ears perked up sharply. She was a bit dumbfounded by the leader's words. No one usually let intruders into their clans.. did they? "Wait, you want me to join ShadowClan?"

She retreated into her mind for a moment and started to think. Clans. She had been without for seven moons. But that was her own fault, and she started to accept that. More importantly, she kinda started to regret. Duststar's offer was a big deal for her. And it was a simple answer that did not need thought at all. Just a yes or no.

But Hawksong was worried. What if she blew it? She didn't want to make the same mistake she made in her father's clan. Then again.. she'd be chased out if she refused the offer anyway. So she really couldn't go wrong and finally snapped back into reality. Hesitantly, she nodded slowly and washed away any kind of anxiety she had in her eyes. "I accept and would love to join your clan." That oddly felt better. She would try to not mess it up this time.

The leader was looking at her. Duststar thought she was a brave and strong looking cat. He wanted to see how she would do as a warrior of Shadow Clan. He heard protests from the other Warriors.
Deathshadow was looking at Hawksong. He was fuming. He wanted to just attack her. The black cat snarled and walked off. He had all of his fur sticking up. He wasn't in a good mood. He was likley to take his temper out on the next cat who got in his way.

"Yes I want you to join Shadow Clan. there will be a meeting later." He knew that the other cats would take awhile to be ok with this. DustStar knew that DeathShadow was rather annoyed. He was looking at her .
He hoped that he had made the right choice letting her into Shadow Clan.
The cat had to silence the rest of the clan.
Deathshadow was snarling and he sat on his own. He really hated this.

Hawksong had watched as Deathshadow stomped off in a fit of acrimony. With a hard gaze, she'd turn back to face Duststar and would dip her head politely before dismissing herself. She looked around for the fresh-kill pile as her stomach started to growl, and spotted it from afar. She nonchalantly advanced towards it as disapproving whispers and stares still plagued her from all around the camp. Normally, Hawk would be timid enough to back off and isolate herself from the others, but what was wrong with being a little rebellious for once?
Beforehand, though.

The orange-brown pigmented feline straightened her stature, puffing out her chest as if she was all high and mighty and held confidence. Which she currently didn't. But, these cats didn't have to know that! Lastly, her expression became stoic and her cropped caudal vertebrae coiled neatly over her hip, finally trudging over on light feet. The she-cat would stop at a reasonable few feet, diverting her eyes down to study the distinct bleached feathers of a bird. She leaned down to grab it with alabaster little teeth, but something stopped her. Turning around, she'd grin at the cats watching her and state, "I'll just go hunting." and she ran off into the forest.

Some time later, Hawksong returned with a thrush and a small field mouse in her maw. She'd quickly drop the prey in the fresh-kill pile and lick her chops. She had caught a third, a thrush, in which she had eaten in the forest so she could focus better. Shielding herself from few glares, she'd look around for the cat she met and finally caught the sight of his shadowed coat. Hawk quickly bounded over to him and sat, saying nothing.

Deathshadow really didn't like what was going on. How dare she become a memeber of Shadow Clan. He knew the leader saw the makings of a good warrior in her. But Deathshadow saw her as a pain. He didn't really see how anything was going to work out.
His ears twitched in annoyance. He went off to carry on hunting like he had been earlier till she disturbed him. He brought back a few birds. He dropped them on the freshkill pile before getting something to eat as well. He hoped the leader was at least going to punish her or make her work hard to learn the rules.
She should be picking ticks from the elders he thought bitterly.

He was sitting down eating when she walked over. He knew the others disproved as much as he did, or at least a large amount of the cats did. He flicked his tail in annoyance. He smirked hearing the comments of the others as he was eating.
Well at least he wasn't the only one who didn't like her here.
Though he knew he couldn't defy the leaders orders.

"Mmmph what do you want," Deathshadow grumbled. He closed his eyes wanting to take a nap. The sun was beating down on his fur. He curled up. He knew Duststar would ancounce a meeting in a few hours most likely . Deathshadow always napped when there was nothing much he could do.
He seemed to just run low on energy easy.
