Yes, I like to let everyone have a chance to introduce their characters and perhaps/hopefully begin an 'everyone meets everyone' scenario before doing anything major.

How should I start posting, just pushing my way through the crowd then showing up at the tavern or what?

Well, a few of us picked up a job from the Chantry. You can follow our route and head to the Chantry, be told of a few jobs, and than directed to the Tavern where the others who plan to work on the jobs are. That's what everyone else is doing.

It seems like everyone has chosen a tavern as the meeting place for the party Sam, that would probably be the easiest place for you to start. Once you guys get a group together I'll elaborate on those Chanter's board quests.
