Pokemon Dystopia

I always think the Pokemon franchise goes really neatly with a dystopian vibe. Would there be any interest for this if I worked on it a little? I really liked the underlying corruption and implied darkness of team rocket in the first couple of games.

I'd also want to somewhat de-anime and de-cartoon the world a little bit, in keeping with the slightly more adult, darker theme.

This sounds interesting, but you see... You can't just start an interest check in Advanced and only put that much information up... That is inherently not belonging in the Advanced until there is more info.

I've gone through that situation enough times in the past where I work out a huge background, story and all that jazz and just had nothing back. I didn't want to risk wasting all that time, and the Interest Check would have to be in Advanced because I wouldn't want to GM in a different section - which, of course, reduces the pool of potential players compared to Casual.

Anyhoo, thanks for your interest. I'll keep this thread ticking over to see if there will be a sudden wave in popularity after you broke cover. :)

Hmmm. I'm interested. The biggest factor that would affect the my involvement would be where the story would take place. As much as I love the series I only really know gen 1 and gen 2 (Kanto and Johto) so I'd only be willing to participate if the story takes place there.

I'd be building a new region from scratch but would want to use all 'mons released as of Gen VI including new fairy typing - though typing won't really be a thing in this. Battle mechanics would follow the basic law of common sense, regardless of what the actual types may be. There's no real reason why throwing a rock at a bird is more effective than punching it, so the type system would basically go out of the window.
