The next morning Bane was cooking in the kitchen when James walked in and he looked up. "I haven't seen her yet...I don't think she's left her room yet...anything to report from last night?"

"Nothing too important other than one of my clones being attacked by a stray cat," James said. "I'll go check on her. You just keep cooking."

[MegaraFoxfire]

Bane nodded and said "You got it boss"

Megumi was sitting on the floor by the bed, staring at the wall. She was playing with her pendent, just staring.

James knocked on her door. "Hey it's me. Can I come in?"

[MegaraFoxfire]

Megumi sighed and said "it's open..." She didn't look up as he came in, sitting on the floor leaning against the wall. She looked like a mess. She said quietly "I'm going to the Village hidden in snow...and I'm going alone. You and Bane did your job. My fathers home is safe. His honor is my job"

"Actually, I already got permission from the Hokage for us to help you with your investigation," James said.

[MegaraFoxfire]

Megumi looked up at him and said "What part of I'm going alone do you not get, James"

[arowne97]

James shook his head. "And what if you get hurt or killed out there? What then? Even if you get your...tenant...to help you, there are ways to block that out. What will you do if you find someone who has prepared specifically to block out every move you have?"

[MegaraFoxfire]

Megumi got up and glared at him. "I will make do. I always have. I was fine on my own before you and Bane came along...I can handle this...this..." She lowered her head, tears streaming down her face. "I don't know what's going on...I just don't understand..."

James sighed as he stepped forwards, pulling her into a hug after seeing her start crying, trying to comfort her. "Then let us help you...maybe we can help you find out things that you couldn't find out on your own..."

[MegaraFoxfire]

Megumi cried into his chest. "Why didn't father tell me...and what does that masked ninja know about my past..."

"I think that he didn't want to hurt you by telling you...and I have no idea what that masked ninja knows. He does seem kind of strange though..."

[MegaraFoxfire]

She nodded, shaking against him. "He doesn't want to be found out...look what he did to Bane..."

[arowne97]

"Yeah...I still think that has to be an eye-based genjutsu though, since I saw his eyes glow behind that mask for a second as he made eye-contact with Bane"

[MegaraFoxfire]

She looked up at him and said "So his still trying to keep Bane quiet...is there nothing we can do?"

"Without knowing what exactly he did, I can't do anything."
