Cordelia wasn't sure if Doctor Scales had no sense of humor or was just fucking with her with a totally deadpan expression-it was hard to gauge, given that his smiles and his "i'm going to eat your heart out" faces were fairly similar to the untrained eye. Cordelia merely chewed her current mouthful of food with deliberation, swallowed pensively, and muttered, "He shits out silver. There's a metaphor in there somewhere." She took a sip of her drink (Pepsi. Not Coke. Coke was for little bitches) and struggled to refrain from spewing it out when Henry mentioned a power instructor. Power instructor? How in the hell were they going to teach her anything? As far as Lynn was concerned, she was at the top of her game when it came to using her particular endowment, primarily because her power did its own thing. She didn't do anything retarded like trying to control it, and it took pretty good care of her. Lynn figured a power instructor would just mess that delicate, happy little balance up. Lynn resumed quietly eating her food, considering her sole venture at socializing a failure, until Scales turned his focus back onto her. What's her name, and where's she from. Lynn considered giving him a totally bullshit answer for the hell of it, but figured he hadn't actually done anything to merit being fucked with. Yet. Lynn sorted the people of the world into two categories: "Annoying" and "Just a matter of time". "Uh," Lynn said smartly, caught off-guard by someone, you know, talking to her-in lieu of talking down to her. "Name's Lynn. I'm from Chicago. You?" Lynn frowned. "I mean, where you're from, you already said your name and all." Lynn spoke with a sort of forced calm-she seemed awkward, but not in the typical sense. Rather, she seemed like she was on edge-eyes darting to her sides, fingers drumming the table. Her spare hand (which revealed faded bruises on her knuckles) was propping up her chin, masking her face a bit. Her blue eyes settled on Henry, studying him for a moment. This, of course, before she was distracted by Alex's (Oh, great, now we have a bitch that glows in the dark) arrival. And you know? For a second, Lynn's reflexive cynicism faltered. This chick seemed chill. I mean, that was a stretch, given that anyone willing to go to a jungle academy of superpowered, hormonally imbalanced teenagers was definitely not chill, but she was comparatively cool. Smiling. Took balls to smile, really. You go into a room of badasses, the one who's quiet, with a little grin on his face-he's the one you watch out for.

Lynn gave Alex the once-over. She wasn't the one you watch out for. Lynn sized that up pretty quickly-the way she carried herself? She didn't think of herself as a predator, didn't see herself as a threat. You could tell with Morticia, the fucker with the yellow eyes-they thought they were hot shit-this girl didn't. Which, strangely, earned her another point in Lynn's book. The dick measuring contest of tough guy types got old after a while (that being said, Lynn would still be doing it), this chick wasn't bothering with the bullshit. Huh. Doctor Scales was half decent and so was the walking Christmas tree. "Lynn," she said simply, nodding her head in recognition. She'd spoken to two strangers today. Cordelia figured if she stayed here too much longer, she'd probably start being nice to people too.

And Suits was still glancing over at her. Suits was going to get a foot broken off in his ass, nicotine dependency or no.

Jake, Gabe, & Jaska Valos.

Yeeeeaaah... The table just got a little too crowded.

At least that's what Gabe thought when Cordelia came up to the table, saying stupid things. Basically proving that she's pretty much the trailer trash 'edgy' chick that everyone made her out to be before she even came up. Swearing and eating food like no one taught her how to act. Gabe merely rolled her eye, and stayed on guard. She followed the strict belief that if she bears through scenes with people that are currently annoying her, she'll never have to do anything with them ever again. There's a few hundred people on this island. No one said she had to talk to one or two chucklefucks.

One annoying twat finally decided to close her mouth, and was replaced with that street rat they saw eating like a pig a few tables down. Damn girl, watch out with all that edge! He smirked to himself. He wasn't too bothered by the swearing and indecent display, since he seen similar potty mouth and ill-behavior with Gabe. But what he did have a problem with was her swearing around Jaska. Seriously? He's like eight. Have some decency. Now, he was certainly going to say something since he has a problem with her language. He was certain he would get blown off. But who knows? Maybe this girl has some decency. Because in Jake's eyes, there's a kindness in everyone.

"Hey I'm Jake." He spoke up to Lynn, trying to get her attention, "I wanted to ask if you wouldn't curse around my little brother... He is eight after all." He was speaking like he was making a polite request, rather than a demand. He hoped that he isn't just blowing smoke out his ass.

The swear, and the resulting conversation, went clean over Jaska's head. He was too concerned with the fish... Man, he loved fish. Probably because he never really ate any. Water is not something Jaska likes... The last time he fell into some water... He shuddered. Pushing the thought of his fear of water out of his head. He noticed that the fish was gone, but the lizardman said he can have some more if he asked. "Henry, can I have some more."

Then they got the attention of two more jackoffs. The two that have been watching them, the weirdo chick in the goth get up and the barbie doll. Even the little girl had the audacity to say something to her. This whole scene was starting to piss Gabe off, with Amanda being a fool, every weirdo is eyeballing them, and people were talking like they knew what they're talking about. Miss Gothy-Goth will have to wait. This takes priority, "Eyo, Fire-Crotch, one; you just did, and two what rock have you been under all your life?" Gabe blew a puff of air from in between your lips. She spoke in a very sarcastic, feigned-surprise, manner, "Because, haven't-you-heard?! Mutants are everywhere!" She followed that up with a fake scream, making the most comically shocked face she can think of, even with her hands on each side of her head. "Meta over here fighting crime! Meta over there setting buildings on fire with his farts! That Meta is ejaculating lightning all over the place! It's a bloody catastrophe!"

And ANOTHER oddball just walked up, glowing like a fucking flash light. Honestly, all these people coming up was starting to make them want to bail out. So, they didn't introduce themselves for the umpteenth time.

Nikki Biyung.

The young girl nodded at Red. The guy seemed... nice. They had some similarities, she had to (reluctantly) say. The conversation was going better than expected, she didn't leave a bad impression on Red. It might change, but hell if Nikki's going to do it. She responded to the first line Red said with a cool-headed, "No, it's cool. Everyone has their opinions, and I know they have some credence." She almost found herself blushing when he said she was one of the person he choose to talk to. Did that mean he found her special? Or...?  She brushed it off, she wasn't going to get all excited over one /possible/ complement. "Well, thanks. I'm personally just happy someone's actually, you know, talking to me." She scratched the back of her neck. "I thought I'd be doing my own thing while everyone else does all the big things. Heh." She had a dumb smile on her face - Quickly wiping it off.

And Jesus, three more people just walked up.

The most notable one was the girl that was fucking glowing. It burned the girl's eyes when she directly looked at her, so she had to throw her hand up. "Hey, can you tone it down a bit?" Nikki said to Alex, in a strained tone. The other girl was just addressing Gabe calling them out for staring. Then there was the spider... Nikki knew that the girl was a spider, her power told her so. The only thing that her power didn't let her do control her. A very strange occurrence, but Nikki theorized that the woman was an animal type that could transform into spider. Since she's human, she can't be controlled. But what would happen if she makes Vespera transform? Nah, she rather not do anything stupid.

But this third girl...

There was something about her that she couldn't put her finger on. It was a sense that she's seen this girl before. She realized that she was staring at the girl, and turned back to Red, but she caught a glimpse of the girl's shadow. It moved... Oh Jesus. Nikki nearly jolted out of shock. Now she remembers who this girl is. This brought her back to her days of running around her home town being a vigilante. This girl... this girl right here... was one of the crooks that Nikki apprehended in the past. The one with the Shadow.

She became pretty worried... God, she never knew she would she someone like her ever again. But, she knew that Cordelia doesn't know who she is. Or else she would be making a scene. Nikki turned her attention to Red, trying to make small talk with him so that she would ignore Lynn. "So, um, what do you plan on doing later? I think we can talk again." Don't interpret this as a date, don't intercept this as a date...

Shannon Jacqueline Balore, & Deborah Lillian Termellio.

The two girls didn't mind Aislin sitting with them. The girl seemed like fun right off the bat!

Like she usually did, Deborah gave Aislin a not-so-subtle up-down (Definitely new.). Seemingly looking at every part of the teenage girl's body, in a near trance-like state. From her red eyes (The girl has been consuming illegal substances very recently), the large amount of food she had (The effects of the marijuana on her brain is stimulating hunger), and her casual grin (Not fake or forced.) - She snapped out of it, shaking her head violently for a second. "No, not at all." She said in a very kind tone. She was trying to hide her first impression that this girl was a huge druggie. God damn this power sometimes, but it really did help her profile people far better than telepaths ever could. And speaking of telepathy. Deborah grabbed onto Shannon's wrist, activating their telepathic link. Deborah quickly sent the mental message, She's a new student, and she likes to smoke weed every day.

Oh goodie. Just when we couldn't have enough underaged drinking and doing drugs. Shannon responded, with an obvious roll of her eyes. She doesn't condone of such illegal activities, but she wasn't the type to rat them out, neither was Deborah. And that's what kept them on this island for so long. A devious grin crept up on her face, she responded with her own message, Oooooh, let's hint that we know what she's on. That'll scare the piss out of her then!

Maybe if she's annoying. Let's be cool. Deborah replied, with an equally devious grin on her face. We should talk to her. Take the lead, love.

They then realized they were silent, grinning at each other like a pair of idiots. Aislin probably thinks they're weird, but she's probably higher than a kite. That's reason enough to say that she wouldn't notice any oddities. They let go of each other.

"A very accurate guess." Shannon says, adjusting her glasses. "Before I continue; I am Shannon Balore, local fashionista, and this is Deborah Termellio."

Deborah waved enthusiastically, "Hi!"

Shannon smiled, "And to answer your question, not really." She coughed, clearing her throat, "I've been coming to this school for three years, and underneath all the fancy buildings and speeches, it's just another teenage wasteland. Just one with less ways out... Only one thing really keeps me here." She turned to Deborah and smiled. The romantic gesture was ignored.

Deborah had a different out look on the school, "Well, it isn't that bad. There's plenty of cool people here, and this place is a... teenaged paradise. You just need to know what to do, and who to talk to..."

"... It's going to be hard when she doesn't have a power that tells her just that." Shannon playfully rolled her eyes, getting a bump on the arm from Deborah. "Ow! That hurt!"

But Shannon did have a bit of a point, Deborah has used her power to carry her through most of life... then again, she knew she didn't always make the right choice with her information. She scratched the back of her neck. She had to ignore those thoughts. "But, yeah. If you need a pointer or two, just ask me. I'm probably going to give you better answers than anyone else."

Dana Lucille Alcott, & Theresa Sindel Obott.

Sydney, Sydney, Sydney... Nice name. It reminded Dana of Australia, for obvious reason.

Past introductions, the girl didn't speak much. Probably because she was such a timid little thing. Perhaps they can make her open up about herself? The pair didn't seem like the intimidating types, right? Out of all the people who can throw buildings, or shoot nuclear blasts out of their nipples, they have to be the two least intimidating kids on this whole island. Perhaps the first step would be starting a conversation.

"So, you're new right?" Dana asked, sparking a conversation. "Well, I know that first coming here might be a bit shocking at first, seeing all these people and their strange little powers. But you'll get used to it, trust me, you haven't been here for seven years." She smiled.

"Nice hair." Theresa complimented Sydney's hair. She sat down, since her legs would get tired. She was wondering how long it would take for Sydney to ask about the scarf around her face. Though, it was getting a little loose. Theresa put her hands behind her head and tightened the scarf really fast. "So where did you come from, Sydney? Everyone here comes from all different backgrounds, races and cities, you wouldn't believe it." Preferably, Theresa would like to keep powers out of the conversation. Because Dana and Theresa could get into a pissing contest about who's more uncomfortable with their powers and still find a draw.

Red was coompletely oblivious to the fact that Nikki might have misinterpreted what he said as romantic affection towards her. He was after all a complete amateur when it came to romance. As such, he was clueless as to how she would think of his answer.

"Sure, the two of us can hang out to explore the Academy, find out more about the place we will live. I am not too comfortable with the others yet, maybe with the exception of the one called Jake. Who knows, maybe we could be roommates too!"

It didn't escape Red's attention that Nikki felt uncomfortable towards Lynn, but with all the people gathering at the table, he didn't have time to process the possible scenarios.

He finished his food, always hesitsnt to use the kitchen knife, because ofhis fear of hem, wiped himself clean in a gentlemanly manner, drank some water, because he found the foud a bit too salty for his tastes and stood up.

"I need a smoke before I go crazy..." he thought.

He adjusted his tie and politely said to everyone:

"I was pleased to make your acquaitance...Now if you will excuse me..."

Although he was talking to everyone, he was only concerned with Nikki, Jake, Poppy and Henry, the only people good enough to share a word or a gesture. He didn't forget about Poppy and he saw her gesture too, but right now he prioritized his vice above all else. He joyfully said to Nikki:

"I would ask you to come along, but I would be shameless if I tried toseperate you from your cousin..."

Then he walked two steps, stood next to Lynn and whispered without looking at her, sothat the others would not understand he was talking to her.

"I am going to look for a safespot to smoke...If you care about it you can help me with it." He said and headed out.

Already Aislin felt invited to the table. Hallelujah~! She listened while slowly filling her face with delicious salad, ebbs of her growling stomach becoming sated. They didn't introduce themselves at first, the black lady looking at her very carefully. Aislin continued to munch veggies, comfortable with slow conversation.

They went quiet for a moment, allowing her to pick up on their auras with easier focus. She couldn't deny her curiosity a peek, especially with such an opportunity. Both girls had a pale hue glowing around their edges with many fluctuating patterns of colours. The black lady had streaks of red running through her aura, her friend had pulses of orange and lime. But Aislin cocked an eyebrow behind her shades when she saw a ripple of white zip down the black lady's arm and across her friend's body. The light played to and from a couple more times, and Aislin couldn't tear her eyes away. How fascinating. What could that possibly be?

The flashes of pink around their shoulders were undeniable, and the biggest smile played at Aislin's lips. Aw, they love each other. That's so cute!

She was on the downswing of being stoned, it was when she had the most awareness to kinda see things beyond what she normally would. Her eye softened behind the shades, drifting around the room. Everything in the room has a... kinda shimmer around it. The table's edges faintly glow. An aura? Does it... Does it mean all things have some amount of consciousness? Is that why I can wake them, because their low amount of energy can't allow them to interact in this dimension? ...Oh my god, mind blown.

She chuckled to herself, realizing how stoned that sounded. Taking a deep breath, Aislin flickered her gaze back to her new friends. A tickling sense of tranquillity swept through her body as she centered herself back on the conversation. "Ah, Shannon and Deborah. The pleasure is all mine."

She nodded her head while they gave their opinions on the school. "Mm, I'd have to agree with the whole paradise thing; the humid jungle outside surprised me. In a good way, I don't mind vacation and school at the same time."

When Shannon played at Deborah's power, Aislin immediately thought of the white pulses of light she saw earlier. Her curiosity begged her to ask, "Aw, you've hinted at it, now I have to know. Pretty please?" The casual grin returned to her lips.

"But, yeah. If you need a pointer or two, just ask me. I'm probably going to give you better answers than anyone else."

Aislin tapped the table, chuckling. "I'm sure glad I sat here, I really appreciate that. In a place this huge I can already see myself getting lost repeatedly. But speaking of, I heard this Academy had like, a ginormous library. Where would I find it?" She leaned in further, a mischievous glint in her blue eyes. "And, uh... How do you feel about cafeteria pranks?"

Shannon Jacqueline Balore, & Deborah Lillian Termellio.

This girl, while high, was pretty enjoyable to talk to.

Deborah hadn't noticed Aislin's little peak, otherwise she would have known what the girl had gotten off of them, and probably lost her shit. When Aislin asked about her power, she was stepping on a grey area, actually. Lots of people think that Deborah's power was a blatant violation of privacy. There's Shannon who was fine with it, but there were plenty of people who despised her because of her power. Deborah herself didn't even want to know a lot about some people. But she did anyway.

Shannon had rolled her eyes. People were always stroking themselves about their power. It was something that a lot of people talked about here, and at this point, was no different than asking someone about their shirt. had interrupted her, "Honey, I've been coming to this school for three years, and you want to know how many people asked me that question...? Hundreds. You want to know how many of them I'd strangle? All of them." Her tone wasn't hostile or venomous, it was in a joking, playful way. "You'll learn to get sick of the question after awhile."

Maybe this girl wouldn't mind too much? Deborah tried to reassure herself. She's seems chill, and she's fucking stoned. Besides, if they're going to be friends, then she'll find out anyway. "It's hard to explain what my power is...." She waved her hand around a little bit, tilting her head like she was trying to find a good way to explain. "I'm an Extra-sensory type. My power gives me info about what I can see and hear. Connecting two different pieces of information together, then filling in the blanks." She probably should give an example - Which was hard, since all she wanted to do was tell her that she knows she smokes weed. "Like... By looking at your food, I can tell how close you are to being full. I can also tell you if someone's lying or not, and how they really feel." Deborah shrugged. "Sometimes it's useful. Sometimes it's not. It gives me a lot of useless stuff."

Hmmm... Deebs is getting bold. Shannon looked at her friend through her glasses, adjusting them again. Perhaps Aislin could use a little reminder, yes? "If you have a problem with your privacy getting invaded, then girlfriend, you came to the wrong place." She followed that up with a small chuckle. "She's just the tip of the iceberg." Shannon wasn't going to share her power unless there was a good reason for it. It wasn't too remarkable to begin with... until she starts using it.

The next question was directed at Deborah, Aislin wanted to know where the library is. Well, that was simple. "It's not too far away from the dorms, but in case you do get lost, there's maps on the pathways here and there. All you have to do is look for the big building on top of a hill, you can't miss it." Deborah knew the school inside and out, because of her power. But Aisling had other plans, she leaned forward, grinning, and Deborah's power immediately made the connection (She wishes to partake in mischief). Which was totally redundant, since anyone with eyes can tell that. Aislin all but confirmed it when she asked what they thought about pranks.

They weren't the pranking types, but they did pull some pranks on people. Mostly the annoying, or stuck up, kids that get sent here because their families can no longer stand them.

Deborah smiled, saying with a chuckle, "Yeah, I like a good prank." She scanned the room for someone who would need a notch or two taken down. She targeted the people at the table.

"Long as it's not mindlessly stupid, I'm in." Shannon responded.

Poppy

Poppy's face reddened and her hand was shaking so much that her bite fell back onto the plate. While she was angry at one eye hot headed, she was even more so at her parents. Hiding their daughter from a phenomenon that's been going on for well over a hundred years only to find out she's a part of it. Stupid high class society and their fears. Based on the curriculum at her private school she wasn't the only one with parents who felt that way, which also explains why she wasn't sent to another school. However here it was just her. I hope they get kicked out of their little circle... She felt guilty for wishing her father further ill in his condition, but they did bring it upon themselves.

If she said something in response she was sure to blow up, then this girl didn't seem like the type to back down so there was sure to be fallout for the rest of the others. Normally she would have anyways, but right now she felt like an idiot. It wasn't her fault she wasn't taught these things like everyone else. She turned her attention to a meatball on her plate and instead attempted to spear it unsuccessfully. Each failure only made her more and more frustrated until she game up and simply poked at the spaghetti. Her appetite was gone, what she really wanted to do was get away from everyone and scream even though she knew it wouldn't help.

A tear rolled down her cheek. That was the last thing she wanted anyone to see right now so she dismounted from her seat and took off down the row without a second thought. It didn't look like the boy noticed her anymore anyways.

Vespera

As Nikki sized her up, Vespera tried to read into what she might thinking to no avail. On the other hand there definitely seemed to be something girl who looked like she was picked up off the streets. The deer in the headlights look she took on for a moment gave her no doubt. Seemed like something worth digging into one she figured up what was up with the bugs. Vespera really hoped that's all it was.

As the guy sitting next to her and Amanda got up to leave Nikki inquired about meeting up again. Her gaze narrowed, she didn't like being ignored. That and this new chick that was radiating light. She turned away and hissed under her breath but didn't say anything. There was no way she was going to reveal anything about herself if she didn't have to, besides she'd already been asked. That's not all she heard, everyone's conversations at this part of the table were fair game for her acute hearing. Not ever clever are you? Red's plan was clearly audible to her, and mostly like Henry if he was eavesdropping on everyone like her. She had already smelt the smoke on the two of them, what she didn't know before is that they were under eighteen. Or at least Jared was.

Wonder if Mr. Olin is going to do anything, get all anal like Adam would. She hoped not, that way she could hold the edge. Maybe blackmail them later on down the road, who knows. If she isn't as daft as him she's probably pretty pissed. I would be if I did that garbage. Vespera rejected substance use of all kinds, including pain killers. Deluding her senses was even more intolerable in her opinion than enduring agony. A part of it was also conditioning herself. There's no relief on the battlefield, and sometimes after. Anyone who can't tough it out is weak. Then there was addiction. What a sucker. You and everyone else that plays bitch to the tabaco companies. Pay to hasten your demise? What a joke. At least she why other drugs might be tempting to the spineless masses.

Too bad she'd have to let him go this time. It'd be strange for her to bail this early, especially if she followed him. In any case she was getting sidetracked from her main objective. Since Nikki clearly wasn't going to initiate anything she was going to have to. "So I take it your new, your ear sore yet?" Vespera titled her head towards Amanda and chuckled. "Hey you two have some similarities, you related or something?" With her acute senses she had already come to the conclusion they were, just something else to keep the conversation going if possible.

Cordelia Lynn Holmes

Michaela Jackson was giving her the evil eye. Singular. Cordelia gave her a quick, visibly fake smile. I'll put that other eye of yours out. Really, it's a favor, you won't have to keep crying everytime you pass by a mirror. Cordelia turned back to her food, rolling her hoodies' too-big sleeves up a bit. Pushed halfway up her biceps, it revealed the tips of her tattoos, peeking out from beneath the red cloth. It was hard to tell what they were with so little exposed, but presumably they extended a lot further up. Cordelia resumed eating until some asshat named Jake spoke to her, which prompted a "Can't you see I'm eating?" look from Cordelia. Huh? Kid? Lynn glanced over in Jake's direction-oh, the Fucker With A Tail, and her brow furrowed. Huh. He...was kinda young, wasn't he. Cordelia chewed for a moment, taking a minute to actually say the words, and muttered, "Yeah, sorry. My bad." After this, she looked back down and continued eating for a little bit.

Cordelia Lynn Holmes was not a girl who made a habit of apologizing.

She continued her meal, glancing occasionally at all the people around her. Glowing Girl was interesting, and on the off chance they were roommates, maybe she could double as Lynn's nightlight. She ignored the Valoses for the remainder of her meal-if Eyepatch's looks were any indicator, they had made up their minds about her, and she didn't enjoy interacting with those she'd apologized to. Just felt weird. Like rubbing a raw wound with salt. The salt of humility. The wound of pride. Such pensive thoughts were interrupted by another mouthful of food.

Then...wait, hold up, was Suits actually talking to her? Jesus, he was out of touch. Walking by and whispering. Dude, they're cigarettes, not crack. Admittedly, Lynn probably could've gotten him some crack, given enough time and resources, but still. Did he mean weed? Lynn didn't really get the need for it. She wasn't about to hide it-just open her dorm window and light up. Unless they had a guy with a ridiculously good sense of smell on the staff, that plan was pretty much foolproof. But Lynn, not feeling like throwing down with two rich pricks at the same time, merely grunted noncommittally and continued with her meal. Oooh, no, wait. Suits. Suits was a resource to be exploited, not an annoying person (most of Earth's population fell into this category for Lynn) to be ignored. With that kind of money? Yeah, she could hook him up with cigarettes alright. Sure, they might have the filters out and the nicotine content of a rock, but she could get him his fix. Cordelia didn't know what the cost of living was like at this place (she...hadn't really read the letter they sent), but figured a little extra cash never hurt. Plus, this was a boarding school. It was a matter of time until somebody needed to get into somebody's dorm to see if their dumbass boyfriend was cheating on them, or until they needed to launch a prank or something-and Cordelia would be happy to capitalize off the opportunity. That was Cordelia's general view of those who were her peers-they were people to be profited off of and then disposed of.

The glint from Glowing Girl distracted this line of thought. And the sight of the little kid with the tail. Wonder how he got clothes, custom fitted like that. Yeah, like his family's got trouble buying custom fits. Cordelia buried these troubling challenges to her worldview with yet more food, a coping mechanism that could be problematic if she wasn't in desperate need of it.

"I'm an Extra-sensory type. My power gives me info about what I can see and hear." Deborah said, giving an example of her ability. Aislin listened with interest, a light blush coloring her cheeks as she put two and two together.

Amusement was written in every facet of her face, and she laughed as she removed her shades. The vivid blue of her eyes overshadowed the pink-ish hue at the edges. "How fascinating. Well, suppose I don't need these around ya. Besides, my eyes shouldn't be too red by now. Right?"

The white streaks of light she saw traveling between them earlier, that could have been Deborah's power. She remembered reading when the brain sent messages along its neurons, it was in the form of electrical impulses. Electricity and energy were almost synonymous, so what she saw must have been some kind of telepathic communication between them. That... Is so totally cool. I can't communicate like that.

When Shannon mentioned the invasion of privacy, Aislin quickly shook her head. "No way, it doesn't bother me. It's actually sooo incredibly relieving to be around others who understand. I actually got kicked out of my last highschool because I let my ability slip up. They called me a witch..." Aislin frowned, trailing off. That still really bothered her.

"Might as well continue the show-and-tell, though." She winked, pointing to her fork. "I have the talent to make this little guy get up and walk off the table. They labeled me under Other, whatever the hell that means. I can program objects to do things, with some concentration. Mainstream media calls it Animation, you know how they love their comics and superheroes."

Deborah's directions kinda sailed over Aislin's head since she couldn't begin to picture the school's layout in her mind. Dammit. Next time she saw a map she'd look for that pathway, but for the mean time she feigned understanding. "Ah, perfect. Maybe I'll go peruse it tonight before it gets too late."

Ailsin had a feeling they wouldn't be too against some fun. She noticed the table Deborah targeted was one she had debated sitting at earlier. It was still just as busy, though some had slipped away. The huge lizard man was still there, to her amusement. Muahaha, yes~!

She nodded at Shannon, noting to not go too overboard. "I was thinking of maybe giving them a case of runaway cutlery. I could also have their plates do something cruel and fling their remaining portions of food at them. Buuuut, eh. That would be overdoing it. Especially with the expensively dressed kids. So yeah, runaway cutlery, unless you wanted to add anything. I can guarantee it'll be very amusing to watch."

Felix Karrde
Talking. Talking. Talking. Chit chatting. And.. already pairing up.

Anxiously drumming his fingertips inside his jean pockets, Felix watched the crowd and wondered what he should do. If he jumped into the crowded table and started talking too, he might make some real friends. Or he could be immediately rejected on the first day here. No. It was probably better to avoid any risks, especially when the best alternative was to act like a dick to the entire clan.

He'd been standing quietly in the corner farthest away from the others so he could make a good decision and see how everyone behaved. He could see that another guy, probably his age, had also been watching everyone else. There was a girl with him now, a girl that Felix found slightly interesting. The guy obviously was pretty well off, so trying to forge a friendship with him was risky. It could pay off to have someone on his side who was easily likable, but the alternative was just as present.

Gently breathing out, Felix decided to take a risk and approach the well-dressed youth. He walked with his hands in his pockets, his arms hidden by his sleeves of the dark, partially zipped hoodie. Throwing one hand through his bangs, he tousled his hair before changing his swagger and posture to something a bit more confident. The group had grown and shifted in the time he slowly worked his way toward it, until it was a virtually completely different setting.

Finally, he stepped beside Nikki, Jake, and company. "Hey, I'm Felix." Just as Red walked off.

Nikki Biyung.

"Alright, bye..." Nikki said to Red as he left. He was nice, but she was unsure of what he thought of her. Maybe he didn't find her interesting enough? Too many variables here. But she did know that she would meet him again, soon enough. Whether that's in a few minutes, or months. She felt proud of herself for being able to maintain that conversation, and maybe made a friend. With one conversation ending, another came in the form of Vespera, the woman that Nikki had pinned as a spider. Nikki hadn't really paid attention to her... or anyone else for that matter... because she was too busy talking to Red. That was something that. Vespera came asking about her relation to Amanda, which was something she wasn't going to hide or sugarcoat. Eh, if anyone thought less of her because of the actions of her relatives, then, honestly, they aren't worth talking to to begin with. "Yeah, that's my cousin, I didn't really expect her to be here myself, honestly." She said in a matter-of-fact tone with a shrug. She wanted to ask for the woman's name, but before she could introduce herself, another kid came up and introduced himself as Felix. Jesus, this table was getting crowded as fuck. She wasn't comfortable around this many people, but okay. "Well, my name is Nikki, and how are you?" The bugs crawling underneath her clothes were starting to bother her - It was starting to itch like hell. Honestly, she should have went out with Red, and got them from off of her. For now, she made them attach to her clothes rather than her skin. There was some movement from underneath her clothes, but only a keen eye could see it.

Shannon Jacqueline Balore, & Deborah Lillian Termellio.

Looks like this girl was perceptive enough to tell that they know that the jig was up - And was cool with it (Very carefree attitude, and is comfortable around me and Shannon). Though, if they were in a regular high-school... Well, Deborah would tell her to put her glasses back on, but bitches here have all sorts of eyes. One fucker had a flamingo for a pupil. A fucking flamingo. "Yeah, I realized it the second you sat down. I didn't raise a big deal about it since you're not hurting anyone. Right" Deborah spoke, explaining to Aislin what she saw when Aislin sat down. "You should lay off the drugs." Deborah gave some advice to Aislin. "Like Shannon said, I'm the tip of the iceberg, there's plenty of people here who can tell that you're high just by being near you." This was some pretty legitimate advice, the girl was new but, obviously she didn't understand what place she is in, and what everyone was capable of. She didn't mind that the girl was smoking, so she wasn't going to rat her out to anyone.

Aislin mentioned something about people understanding her, and mentioned a story at her old high-school (Troubled memory. Does not like talking about it). She didn't want to push Aislin's buttons and ask about it. Not now, and likely, not ever. She recalled her own home life when her own family began to dislike her because they couldn't have their privacy... and apparently, a normal adopted daughter. "It's going to be different here, I promise." She smiled warmly. "Though, you'll probably run into the occasional jackass who thinks like that. You're better off just ignoring them."

"Yes, we've all been through things like that." Shannon said to Aislin in a very blank tone of voice. She herself personally hadn't faced any prejudice because of her power, but she understands. Then again, Shannon always had one of the more 'lame' powers that no one ever thought about. "You're here now, so you might as well move on."

Aislin explained what her power is... Quite interesting, she had to say. According to Deborah, Aislin was telling the truth about her power (Can be activated at range). Maybe this girl could be rather good at pranking. But the prank that she suggested was rather lackluster. Sure it would be strange, but nothing that would be fun to watch. Deborah had an idea... "Awww... We can do a little better than that," She started off, playfully, "How about you make it look like their utensils are attacking them? That'd be one surprise." Long as you don't hurt anyone.

"Maybe I could help," Shannon started off, "I was going to save this for later, buuut... my power is basically manipulating clothing, or the materials they're made out of. I think I can do something, but, for once, I'm out of ideas."

In case anyone did realize it was them, Deborah would be one step ahead of them... Unless it came to the Cerebral types.

Jake & Gabe Valos.

Jake nodded and smiled at Lynn, "Thank you." He said politely as he can. He was right when he theorized she had some decency. Other than that, she ignored the Valos - Honestly, that was for the best. One snide comment gets directed towards each other and something will jump off. Speaking of jumping off, Jake hadn't noticed the situation between Poppy and Gabe, until well, the girl was running away in tears. That made him cringe slightly. He spoke in Portuguese to Gabe, "Ainda mais difícil em pessoas como sempre, hein?"

Gabe really didn't care about Poppy, the chick was told the truth, and she didn't like that? Not her problem. It was probably better for the bitch to carry on anyway. Everyone else had important things to do. Gabe's eye turned towards Jake's when she was addressed, "Não minha virilha de fogo a culpa não é informada. Algumas pessoas só precisam manter a boca fechada. "

"Mas, vamos tentar jogar bonito. Não queremos fazer inimigos, afinal de contas." Jake replied.

"Você sempre diz 'Vamos jogar bonito' e olhar onde que tem-nos!"

"... Para a frente?"

Gabe rolled her eye, and kept quiet. She didn't care for the conversation anymore, even as yet another kid walked up.

Other than that, they were largely uninterested in the conversation. They just let the conversation go on.

It seems that luck would be on Red's side today, since most of the teachers and staff of the Academy were busy with greeting the first years. Thus he was able to find a good hideout to go on with his not-so-healthy hobby.

He got his small pouch of Van Nelle hand rolling tobacco out, along with rolling papers and slim filters. He was a loyal supporter of both rolling tobacco and Van Nelle, a Dutch brand. After swiftly rolling his cigarette, he quickly lit it with a Zippo lighter of his own and took down a good sip of smoke which went down to his lungs. The word satisfaction was almost visible on his face. Always alarmed for a passing by staff member, he enjoyed the cigarette he craved for hours, also examining his surroundings as he did so. He noticed that the Cafeteria was connected to two buildings, although he didn't have the slightest idea that these were the dormitories. The buildings in the West Wing which he recognized were the gym, the hospital, the shop, the library and a second cafe. He couldn't identify the detention room, the Garden and the tower.

"Talk about resources...So many facilities and the buildings look brand new. Whoever is running this place must be getting really good funds. And why shouldn't he? It's a superpower collection center here. It wouldn't be impossible that students of the Academy could get jobs at governments as agents." Red thought.

He decided to make a recap of all the important information he had about the island. He took down a last sip of his cigarette, put it out with his shoe and closed his eyes, motionless. That's how he entered his memory hall, from which he entered his different memory chambers. Scanning through the chambers, he found all the info concerning the Academy.

"The Academy is surrounded by a wall, probably to protect it's occupants from the wildlife. It is an enormous facility and I am currently certain that it accomodates a gym, a library, a hospital, a shop, an auditorium, an arena, a detention center (from the principal's speech), a reception office, the docks and two cafeterias. It is safe to say that dormitories for the students and staff, classrooms and a place to train one's powers also exist. The Academy's invitation is not limited to age, gender, nationality or personal background, thus one could possibly meet the son of a king to a crook, as long as he had powers, thus the main factor for an invitation being to possess one. The principal's name is Darell Dellamorte, but I don't expect to find any info by Googling him. Conclusion: Estimated percentage knowledge about the academy - hardly 1%. Further information is vital."

After finishing his analysis, Red exited his brain Hall, after storing all the information he currently had to one of the rooms he could quickly access so as to limit the time he needed to access them again in the future.

Not seeing any point in staying alone outside, he decided to go to the cafeteria again. He wasn't gone for that long so the banquet was most probably not finished. Back in the cafeteria, he noticed that Poppy was now at the end of the table the others were, alone.

"Small line across her cheek, the eye being the source, most possibly from a tear. The probability is even higher from the fact that she secluded herself from the others..."

He changed his initial plan to go back to his seat and instead took the handkerchief he had in his suit's chest pocket and politely offered it to Poppy.

"My father always told me that a lady should never cry...So i think you might need this, Miss. And please excuse me for not replying to your earlier gesture. My name is Red."

Sydney looked at at the two and smiled. "Yea I'm new. I'm not used to being around so many people with powers. It's a little weird." She shrugged replying to Dana. She then turned her attention to Theresa who had spoken to her afterward. "My hair?" She was a little confused at first. Most people thought her hair was stupid. After all not only was it pink but it was styled in what people would call a gothic or emo type of hair style. "Oh, um thanks." She said after deciding to simply take the compliment. She moved onto the next topic presented to her. Where she came from. "I have lived in a lot of places though I currently reside in London, England. I have a hair salon there." She shrugged. She hadn't lived there long enough to catch the accent and she had moved there shortly after the death of her grandmother from the good old state of California.

She had saved every last penny she had earned from her previous jobs and had even graduated early and gone into cosmetology school. Sydney had worked hard for what she had accomplished. The only reason she had left was because she had to learn how to control her ability a little better and so she had left the control over her shop to the control of another one of her employees. She was sure the only reason she had been invited to she school was because she was technically, if she hadn't graduated early, supposed to still be in school. She looked at the girls and smiled. It may not have been easy for her to start a conversation but once one was started she had no issue communicating.

Felix Karrde
Standing next to the girl who introduced herself as Nikki, Felix sheepishly repositioned himself so that he should've been facing her, if it weren't for the matter that he kept turning his face away. So, doing as best he could to dive in, he just let his first uncliché remark skip out. And then he kept on going.

Muttering, "I'm doing good enough, ya know." He raised the back of his hair with a free hand, "I mean, as good as it gets taking a boat to an inescapable school for molding society's only noteworthy underclass and overclass. I'm just hoping I learn to do something more than I could on my own, as long as I don't end up throwing baseballs at j-walkers I should be alright." Then he stopped talking, raised his chin, and looked at her, "But how are you?"

"Well, Henry, as you know," the lizard man said, cracking a smile. "I'm from Canada, came here..." He said, getting lost in thought for a moment, counting back the years. There was last year, when he graduated, the year before that, when he caught the biggest shark on record in the academy waters, the year before that with the Dolphin rehabilitation effort that the school had done for charity, the one where he banged that one hot chick... It had been a while. "Damn, eleven years ago. I feel old now, and I'm only twenty-two!" he said, half to her, and half to himself. He, looked over as Alex approached, and gave a small smile. "Good afternoon. Welcome to the academy. I'm Dr. Olin, or just Henry. Whichever you refer to me as is your choice. I respond to both." He said, giving a warm smile to the girl. She just had this aura of friendliness to her. He wished he saw more of that. Most of the students he had seen had very negative outlooks on things. He couldn't blame them, but it was nice to see something different. It was a breath of fresh air. He was about to say more when Jaska spoke up. "Oh, yes, of course Jaska." Henry said, standing up out of his seat and to his full, gargantuan height.

"I'll be back in just a few." He said, and was off, quickly returning with another plate of fish, but this time holding a wine glass of champagne . He set it down in front of Jaska. "If you want more after this, just go over and get it. Tell them Dr. Olin sent you." he said. "Excuse me, everyone. I need to go and address some other students. If I don't see you all again today, have a wonderful evening, and I hope you enjoy your stay here on the island." He said, giving them a smile. He sipped his beverage, before moving away. His tongue flicked casually behind him. He smelt smoke in that area, and he could guess why. But he couldn't do anything about it yet. One of them could potentially control fire, or smoke. And he hadn't seen any of them smoke yet, so he technically couldn't do anything about them yet. He was sure Vespera would've noticed him flicking his tongue every few seconds when he was in the area. The woman tended to have a knack for noticing things he did, as he noticed things she did. It was an unspoken respect between predators. She might consider him an apex, but he knew full well the lines of their unspoken food chain were blurry at best. He wouldn't be surprised if she challenged him to an arena battle in a few days or weeks.

Dana and Theresa were relatively easy to find. All he had to do was find the wheelchair, which was harder than you'd think at first, but he was able to figure it out after a few seconds of searching. As he approached, he noted a pink haired girl. She was thin, and had a good complexion, and was what most would consider beautiful. He felt like most of the people around were either hideous or handsome. Eh. He knew full well which of those categories he fell into. He was one handsome gator! "Dana, Theresa! Long time no see girls!" he said, announcing as he took a few steps forward. He didn't want to surprise them. He placed his free hand on the top rail of Dana's wheelchair, and took a small sip of his champagne. His eyes, which had currently been looking at both Dana and Theresa (one eye on each girl), looking over to Sydney, and focused on her. "And who might this be?" He said, giving her the most suave smile he could give for a lizard man. He probably failed miserably, or looked like a dork. Oh well, nothing broke the ice better than causing someone to laugh.

Morrison always enjoyed the boat ride to the island. It gave him time to catch up with any old friends he saw or talk to newer students who were often nervous or unsure of the academy itself. While there wasn't much to do but talk or enjoy the warm weather it was good enough to keep a blind person content along the way or at least enough for him. He listened to all of the conversations he could while moving about the ship as far as he dared to venture, and it reminded him a bit of his first year. Of course he had been going for quite some time now but the place felt like a second home to him and he never felt any less glad to be back from the break.

When the crowd rushed to get off the large boat he usually stayed at the back of them because as good as he was at navigating crowds it wasn't something he liked to test with a bunch of cooped up teenagers trying to get off the boat at mach 2. He was rather glad to get a break of all the nervous energy of a good portion of the new students and with all of them in the auditorium it gave him time to deal with his stomach which had reminded him of the banquet. It didn't take particularly long for him to get into the cafeteria and getting himself something to eat took less, though he avoided the chicken like the plague, but once he was satisfied with his plate he really didn't feel like sitting down for a bit so he walked around giving a wave or nod to whoever noticed him.

Morrison had his fill after a little while and decided to see who was at some of the tables or what was going on at different ones because the first day was always full of interesting conversations and/or interactions between the new students and older ones. It took sometime but he recognized a couple voices from what appeared to be a rather crowded table with people coming and going, most seemed to be talking with each other and the few who weren't were most likely waiting out the others. He moved on after a bit of listening, he never once moved his eyes in anyone's direction out of silent courtesy, which he noticed another table with three girls two he recognized and one he didn't. What he did notice was just how calm and toned down the new girl was which rung oddly with him but he decided not to think too much about it though the mention of a prank, sometimes he was glad his hearing was so sharp, made him chuckle quietly.

Morrison moved over a few feet upon hearing the rather familiar voice of the large gator man, whom he had met a few times and liked to call Swamp-Thing as a good natured jest, with a couple others he knew and once again a new student had started chatting them up, or most of them probably he wasn't there long enough to know. He decided to discard his plate which had been empty for a little while as he took in some of the nearby conversations realizing if anyone had been looking it would be pretty obvious he was just hanging around. It wasn't a huge deal if someone did notice him because anyone who knew him wouldn't be surprised by his listening. Likely he would come back to see if someone called him over, he rather preferred not to interrupt an ongoing conversation but he was patient enough to wait for the moment.

Poppy

Only when she was a good twenty feet away Poppy began to think about things like where she was going to go now. She didn't know her way around the academy so she should probably take another seat. The further end of the table from Gabe seemed like as good spot as any. Her hunger still hadn't returned so she didn't bother to get more food. Instead she put her elbows on the table and supported her head with her hands as she waited for the meal to get over with. Saline droplets rolled off her chin and formed a tiny pool on the table bellow.

Why me. All she wanted to do was go back to the house and forget all of this. Have the servants tend to her needs. Mask the void within her with material wants. Poppy had given up on trying to be happy long ago, at there she was comfortable. But now she had no where to go. I hate this school. Something obscured her already limited vision.

It was that boy again. Poppy blushed as she took it from him. She turned away and hastily dried her tears. When she pulled it away she was horrified to see that some of her makeup had come off on it. "No I'm the one who should be apologizing, my makeup seems to have soiled your handkerchief..." Poppy sniffled. Her nose wrinkled. Something smells like ass. Nothing that she would dare say aloud, especially since she realized it must have been him. That's why he left. No matter, he was treating her very nicely and that was more than she could say for the others thus far.

"Maybe there's a bathroom to rinse it out!" The one person that is decent and this happens. Hopefully he has another... Then she realized that she still hadn't introduced herself. "Oh and my name is Poppy. "Thank you and sorry again."

Vespera

When Vespera saw the boy who later introduced himself as Felix approach she tensed. Sure enough he butted in replacing Red as her current biggest annoyance. Worse was that after answering her question Nikki turned her attention to him. She clicked her fingernails against the table once then looked up and down it once as she waited.

There was nothing of too much interest. Her gaze rested on Henry a hair of a second longer because her instincts told her he was the biggest threat. However she knew that everything was not as it seems. He nor she were not the most powerful mutants here. Thus the reason for her cloak and dagger antics. In her mind the academy and the world for that matter was dog eat dog and she was willing to do what it takes to be on top. For now that meant playing nice. An opportunity would present itself soon enough, it always did.

What an idiot was Vespera's initial impression after hearing what he had to say. People who use slang any words, even more so ones as short as 'you' sounded uneducated. Furthermore she found his analogy of throwing baseballs at j-walkers particularly distasteful. Speaking of which she spotted Red coming back in. He stopped over by where the sheltered redhead ran off to. Maybe he'd stay over there, that'd suit her just fine.

The movement under Nikki's clothes didn't go unnoticed. This gave Vespera an idea for if and when her patience ran out.

"Keep it...so the next time you feel depressed, you will remember that at leasyt you have a friend...of course you might need to wash it first. And you have cute name, Poppy! Pleased to meet you too!" Red replied in an encouraging tone.

Experiencing pain was something that occured quite a few times in his life, even worse when he was forced to remember it for life. So at least he could make others feel at ease whenever he could help it.

"I am aware that someone from the group over there miht have hurt you in a way or another, but I am pretty much sure that all of these guys are good deep down. Of course there are people that I still haven't talked to yet, but we won't find out unless we go over there again. The girl over there is called Nikki and from what I know she is friendly. Now, I am pretty much sure that you would prefer a female friend during your stay here, so why don't we join the others and give her a chance to get to know you? You two will certainly gget along!", he said to her and offered his hand.

Alex swallowed a large mouthful of food as Lynn introduced herself. It was barely an introduction, the girl had only stated her name, but Alex thought it was much better then being blown off. She had even gotten a nod from her, which was even better then just getting a name. It was also acknowledgment. At this point she didn't really care about anyone else at the table, just Lynn and the totally badass lizard guy she was sitting next to. Alex shoveled another forkful of food into her mouth, pausing for a moment to appreciate the fact she was eating food that was much nicer then the food she had at home. And even though her and Lynn had barely exchanged any words to each other, Alex already considered them buddies. And they also both had a big appetite, Alex liked that in a person.

And then Henry introduced himself, giving a lot more then just his name to Alex. She heard him mention he was twenty two, but not only that, he was also a doctor. She was pretty shocked from that fact, being a doctor was really hard and took a lot of time. Obviously, Alex thought, his super power must be brains. And if he was a twenty two year old doctor, he must be a teacher here. She found it odd that a teacher would be sitting at a table of students but to each their own.

“It's nice to meet you as well Henry! And thank you, warm welcomes are a treat.”

And shit was he tall, that must be a secondary power, or genetics. Alex didn't seem to be connecting the dots with the whole lizard thing. As he walked away she turned back to Lynn with a smile, scooping more food onto her fork. “Is this your first year too?” Alex asked, giving Lynn barely enough time to process her question and respond, began to speak again. “Oh man. I'm so excited for school I might burst!” Alex was visibly excited, her skin and hair began to glow brighter and her eyes were squeezed shut. And then all of a sudden the light died back down. “What about you? Are you excited?”

Nikki Biyung, & Amanda Daisy Blackmore.

"Umm.... I'm fine." Except not at all. Nikki honestly didn't know what to think of Felix right now. That one statement alone really didn't inspire Nikki. It was like he was trying to sound witty or clever, but failed. Throwing baseballs at jaywalkers... what? She scratched the back of her head. Vespera wasn't saying anything either... Ever since Red left, she was getting pretty uncomfortable here. Even more than when Amanda had her mouth open. Actually, she should take a note from Red and step out for a second. She pointed towards the door. "Umm... I'm going to step outside for a second, maybe get some food. I'll be back, if... you all are still here..." She dragged out her sentence. Taking steps out towards the door.

The very second Nikki walked off, Amanda blurted out, "Well, I'm tired of this place and everyone in it. Later losers." still grinning. She skipped after Nikki like a child.

Nikki stepped out the front door, she walked off the path, and leaned up against the wall. The swarm of insects dropped from under her clothing, and went about their way. Nikki felt a little bad for introducing more vermin into the school. She let out a sigh, closing her eyes and relaxing.

"Awwww, what's the matter, Nikki? You were doing so good." Amanda snickered as she walked up, swaying her hips. "You give up that easily?"

"No..." Nikki muttered, "... I just needed to get away from that conversation for a second."

"C'mon, tall dark and creepy, that lame kid, and the fancy-dancey kids getting to you?"

"Look, I just can't connect with them." Nikki rolled her eyes.

"... But you can always try."

"And..." Nikki was about to follow that up with 'fail', but realized she was being cynical, and knew it wouldn't go anywhere. Those people there... She couldn't connect with them, they were far different people, and she knew it. Those weren't the people she could make into friends. Because, to them, she was nothing but a random girl. Unremarkable and forgettable as they come. She put a end to that train of thought. "You know what? How about I just sit out here for a minute?"

"Sure... I'll stay out here too. Not like I'm the wallflower." Amanda took one last jab at Nikki, before leaning up against the wall, crossing her arms.

Dana Lucile Alcott, & Theresa Sindel Obott.

This was a pretty dull conversation so far. All they were doing was making small talk with zero direction.

Fortunately, their old friend Henry decided to approach them holding a bottle of champagne (Definitely not for us). Dana started laughing, her relationship with Dragonfly was good, and so was Theresa's. They got along due to their combined friendly personalities. "Oh hey, Henry." Dana said with a smile, looking up at Henry. "I hope that's not for us, sorry, but AA says I need to stop." She joked.

"This is Sydney, a new student." Theresa introduced Sydney. Dana's comment on Henry's champagne was met with a chuckle, it was physically impossible for Theresa to get drunk. Then Theresa realized that no one had introduced Dragonfly, since she introduced Sydney, what the hell, "This is Henry, a new teacher here. And don't worry, he only eats small children."

Dana giggled.
