Every year at Christmas my family gathers at the same place for two weeks. All of the descendants of my great grandfather Harold Schmidt meet at a retreat center in the middle of the woods that he owns.
Unlike most family Christmas gatherings, however, ours holds special significance to the planet. Not only is it a place to meet long-lost relatives, but for two weeks it is a place for the strongest people in the world to meet and get to know each other better. See, Grandpa Harold was America's first super hero, and most of the family followed suit. Most of us have powers, but you don't need powers to be super.

Family tree:
Harold Schmidt's first wife: Angelina McCloud
Son of Harold and Angelina: Frank Schmidt
Daughter of Harold and Angelina: Kennedy Schmidt
Harold Schmidt's second wife: Jenny Wilhelm
Daughter of Harold and Jenny: Penny Schmidt

Family Rules, as enforced by the elders (Harold, Jenny, and the kids):
1) Keep secret identities and super identities separate, especially other family member's identities.
2) Never fight secret ID verses super ID.
3) Family gatherings are neutral territory. Keep your conflicts away from them.
4) Family only at family gatherings. This protects us all.
5) Never kill family.

Name: Harold Schmidt

Gender: Male
Age: 101
Appearance: Grey Hair, wears a suit everywhere, uses a black mahogany cane with a stun gun built into it.
Super appearance: Retired, but used to wear a WWI army outfit with a flag on the helmet and back.
Skills:
Job: Real Estate Mogul
Powers: Adaptation Level 4 (That which doesn't kill him makes him stronger. He will adapt to hostile conditions, but it takes time. After the conditions are over it goes dormant until needed.)
Personality: Nostalgic, He remembers a time when not only was their no computers, but most people didn't have power in their houses except for lighting, and he isn't afraid to talk about it.
History: He found out he was special when he was a teenager and he got beat up for standing up for a girl in class. After the first beating it didn't hurt as much, and soon, it didn't hurt at all.
His dad died in World War I when he was young, so he made a copy of his dad's uniform and put flags on it, to show people he stood for America. He then went out and hunted criminals to stop them from hurting people.
Just before WWII, when new heroes and villains were starting to reveal themselves instead of just being rumors, he met Psychotic Sam, the man who would soon become his archenemy. Sam only wanted the voices to shut up, and he found that they were quieter when he hurt people. The fact that he had super strength and invulnerability made him that much more dangerous. Over the years Sam's attempts to hurt or kill Adapter made him far more resistant to damage than he used to be.
In '41 Harold went to England to try and help in the war. There he met Angelina, a Secret service agent with a secret of her own. Not only did she have wings and could fly, she also had a sky blue aura which could absorb damage and the ability to project that aura around melee weapons for extra damage and to make the weapons take less damage. They fell in love and, when the war was over, they moved back to the US with their son, Frank. She got pregnant again and, late in '46 gave birth to a daughter, Kennedy.
Psychotic Sam found out about Adapter's family and, while Angelina was still in the hospital recovering, he murdered her. Harold went after him, but this time Sam threw him off the top of the Statue of Liberty, paralyzing him. It took him almost eight months to recover from the injury, and when he went after Sam he found that Red Seraph, Angelina's brother, had killed him.
For the next few years he tried to raise his kids and keep up his crime fighting, but he was starting to wonder if it was worth it. But in '49 he met the White Witch, a sorceress who would draw on elemental forces for the highest bidder. He protected her from the mob while she turned state's witness, and during their time together they fell in love. When she the situation was over, they got married, and two years later, early in '52, they had a daughter, Penny.
When, around the Vietnam war, he decided to hang up his cape, he invested what he had in real estate, and eventually became quite rich.

History: The grand daughter of Britain’s first “super hero”, the Crimson Gent (who worked for Scotland yard and had a red aura and could project it into energy blasts from his hands) she joined the war effort as a nurse when Britain came under attack from the Nazis. There she met Adapter, and left the other nurses to help drive the Nazis out of her country.
After the war she moved to the US with her husband to raise their son and soon had another child, this time a daughter. Before she left the hospital, though, a man came to her in her hospital room and, surprisingly, he knew who she was. Her aura wasn't strong enough to protect her against a super strength enhanced machete blow, and she died.
She was avenged by her brother, Gabriel, AKA Red Seraph.

Unfinished elder character sheets will be finished eventually, but if you've got any ideas, feel free to make suggestions. Also, I've got to actually design the resort for us. I know it needs a cafeteria, a gym, sauna, several pools (including one with a 12" bridge across it for team building exercises), cabins, and a paintball field. It'd also be good to have a teleporter room, a giant hologram generator (to hide us from the outside) and our own generator.

This RP uses a 1-10 scale for powers, with 1 being "scientifically provable, but barely there" and ten being "Superman".

I'd be happy to join this but can you give us an idea of what positions are available to take? Who has kids? How many? A family tree?

So far I've only written the family tree for Harold and his wife and kids. I know my character will be one of Frank's grandkids, but that's it. I've drawn the family tree so far and posted it to give us an idea who's who. You can be anyone that they would let attend, such as a descendant or spouse. You can be an invisible three year old if you want, as long as you're a family member.

I got this idea at a family reunion, while wondering why no one did the family lives of superhumans in superhero shows. I'll add some intrigue, but mostly it will just be character development for now.
