"Does that hurt?"
"No.."
"What about now?"
"Just leave her alone."
"Come on, surely you agree this is fun?"
"Maybe for you, but you're shocking her."
"Both of you, leave it."
"I'm experimenting."
"And we've gathered she can stand that level."
"So I should try a higher voltage."
"Jesus Christ, stop it!"

With a red face, Emily looked down, now fully aware everyone in her small class was staring her way. She focused on finishing her notes whilst the boys beside her shifted uncomfortably. The boy on her left, a registered mutant who possessed levels of static control, was sniggering quietly, whilst the boy on her right, a mutant who, like herself, had avoided registration, and who know chose to keep his mutant abilities on a quieter scale. Emily passed the boy a smile and turned back to her notes.

The boy, Oliver, returned her smile and carried on quietly minding his own business like her always did. The two of them had joined the safety of Xavier's school at the same time, Oliver saving Emily's life in the process. Of course, she promised him she'd do the same one day, if it ever came to that. Both of them were sure it never would, but then again, the gift Oliver possessed, could easily be twisted into something horrible.

In the quietness of the lesson, a rumble could be heard. Much like a jet, it disappeared after seconds, yet it soon returned. The group slowly rose from their notes and even their lecturer, moved from her spot at the front and shifted towards the window. Before their eyes a jet drifted down slowly from the airspace above them and landed gently in the courtyard, crushing plants in its way. By now, half the school's eyes would have been fixed on the black metal aircraft, yet their attention would have shifted immediately. Upon landing, a man stepped out. Leather clad and baring one eye patch.

The students remained quiet and watched as their lecturer disappeared from the classroom in a flurry of white hair.
"What you reckon that is?" Emily asked, peering from behind one of the blinds.
"Not a clue."

Avery was laying in on one of the couches when she heard the rumbling. She sat up, her black hair in her face as she jumped up and ran to the window. She looked out and smiled. She knew who would be coming. Her friend had told her so. She pulled out her phone and dialed her father's number and put it to her ear. "Dad? Its Ave...ya, they are here Logan. What do you want me to do?" She nodded then said "Got it Dad, I'll call when she gets here. Love you, see you when you get back" She hung up and headed to the class she was suppose to be in, slipping in and standing by Emily. "So, who are the guests messing up the flower beds?"

Wolf stood in the office, watching Agent Colson work. He sighed and said "YEs Wolf?" She said "I should have gone with them. The X-men don't like random visitors like this....like Logan and Gambit for example." Colson looked up and looked at her, then said "Fine...you can meet them there" He looked down and said "Just don't get into a fight with..." HE looked up and she was already gone. HE said "Why do I bother..."

Emily turned quickly and almost jumped in shock.
"Not a clue." Oliver commented, noticing Emily hadn't replied yet. Clearly she was still in shock over their friend's suddenly reappearance. "I've never seen anything like it before." He stood on his tip toes, squinting to find logos or decals. "It's a jet, American, but that's all I can tell."

"Any ideas yourself?" Emily asked, having recovered from the sudden shock. Carefully adjusting any excess issues, Emily turned to Avery and waited. "Could be government? Wouldn't be a private investor, the Professor would have asked them to arrive by car."

Avery smiled and said "only one group I know of has those jets..." She turned around and said "friends of dads...shield"

Wolf walked out of the jet, the other agents not seeing until now. She smiled and said "hello agents. Did you all miss me?"

"Shield?" Emily asked, watching the jet again. Her eyes flicked over to Oliver as an unusual silence wiped over him. Both his eyes shone a milky white, almost as if he'd left the room.

"Supreme Headquarters, International Espionage, Law-Enforcement Division." He commented, both eyes returning to normal. "SHIELD." Still Emily looked confused. "They're government. Though I don't know what they would want here."

"How do you know that?"
"Is it really that important?"
"Kind of."
"I used to help my brother hack before i met you."

Oliver avoided the question anymore by turning his motives towards finding out. Packing up his belongings, he tossed Emily her bag and made his way through to the hallways.
"Any idea why they're here?" He asked Avery.

Avery shook her head and siad "Nope, but I bet I know one of them. She's a friend of dad's. They call her the Shadow Wolf. Shes a mutant like us, but is stronger like dad and Cycolps" She followed the pair out of the room, keeping looking out the windows as people started to walk off the ship

Wolf was leaning against a tree as the agents walked off and she waved at them. "You guys are really slow" One of the agents sighed and said "Wolf? What are you doing here?" Wolf smiled and said "I'm here to make sure you guys don't mess this up"

"Alpha class." Oliver commented, knowing Emily probably wouldn't understand the level of certain mutants powers. "They're the same level as the Professor, and Aurora. Powerful but with hideous flaws."

"Like yourself?"
"I'm afraid I would be beta." Oliver commented.
"Yes, but your power is useful."
"In the wrong hands, it's useful."
"Who are the wrong hands?"
"These guys, maybe."

The two of them walked down a set of stairs and towards a congregation of students who stood huddled together by one of the doorways that lead to the courtyards outside. Emily gave a frown and moved along to a spare window seat. Her concentration and stress was apparent, even more so by the long strip of blood that fell from behind her ear.

Avery put her arm around Emily and focused. Her powers much like her fathers, fast healing. But she could share her healing powers with those who she touched and that's what she did for her friend. She looked at her and asked "Does that help?" The front doors opened and Wolf walked in with the agents behind her. Wolf smiled and took a deep breath. "Its good to be home..." She leaned against the wall as the Shield Agents walked in, winking at Avery when she saw her.

Oliver quickly laughed, amused by both Avery's actions and Emily's brief attempt at mentioning she was okay. It was a flaw in his mutant ability, highly stressful situations, well they opened old wounds, deep ones anyway. It was almost like a healing gift, however, she healed at an normal rate.
"Thank you." Emily muttered, running a hand over the section that surely would reopen in moments.

The man in leather was already half way down the hall, stopping in front of the man who started it all.
"Professor, I understand you know exactly why I'm here."
"You are a clever man."
"Then you know exactly what I want. You also know I have every power available to take what I want."
"I also know that you will. However, it will not come from my students."
"There is a threat out there bigger than you can understand."
"And you think an army will help?"
"No. I already know it will help." Fury walked closer and handed a selection of files down. "You'll find, in here is a selection we've already had our eyes on."
"Some of these aren't registered."
"We have more eyes than you'd realise."

Avery nodded but didn't move her hand. "Just relax, Em...leave that to me...everything is going to be fine. Wolf is here"

Wolf walked over to the pair, resting a hand on Charles shoudler. "Nick...lets take this into the office. Not in front of the kids. You freaked them out enough as it is..." She looked at Charles and said "I'm here to make sure things go smoothly for both sides. If you want them out, I can do that" It wasn't a threat, just a promise to a man who had realyl saved her. She looked over at Avery and nodded. Avery nodded and said "Hey guys, lets go take a look at their ship, maybe we can take it apart" the studnets headed outside, Wolf shaking her head at the agents who wanted to stop them. One was reaching for his pistol, a reflex and Wolf's eyes glowed. "Touch that and you won't walk for a month. With either leg"

Oliver took hold of Emily's hand and squeezed.
"You don't have to register if you don't want to. You know that.." He muttered, turning his eyes away fr Fury and the rest of the teachers. It was true, the Professor had already told them this. He then turned to Avery. "I think we should stay here, after all, I want to know what's going on." He commented.

"This will go well for both sides." Fury added, resting his hands behind his back. "I require you to call all the students into the gym and I'll talk to them all there, along with those who I need."

Avery waited till the others were outside before saying "of course we are staying....I just wanted to give Wolf a chance without all of us staring at them" wolf shook her head and said "you'll scare them Nick. Like I tried to tell you before, a lot of this kids don't have powers that would ever get them into a fight. Why don't we talk to the team first, then go from there? Like Scott summers and storm. They have done this sort of thing before. Charles help me out here" she looked at the bald man, hoping for his final say

Fury gave an inaudible sigh and turned to look at the gathering students.
"Regardless of how long you want to draw this process out, I have a list here of those SHIELD are interested in. I would suggest cooperating better." He flicked through the files once more and turned as Professor X guided them down a hall towards his office.

Oliver, again, disappeared behind white eyes, before returning with an expression of elation and happiness.
"Stark works for SHIELD!" It was a sudden realisation and he started to click things together. "If they have the Avengers. Why would they want us? Unless they are researching. But he said he needs an army. Which in turn would imply there's a threat. But any normal threat, they had SHIELD agents and the Avengers, one of whom is a god... Jesus Christ."
"Ollie- what's wrong?"
"It's a mutant threat. A powerful one too. If they had to come to this school for a mutant army, chances are, it's a powerful mutant threat. There's no way, depending on what it is, the Avengers can stop them."

Avery cursed and said "If Fury is looking here, that means he is desprete. I wonder who he is looking at..." She looked at the other two and said "Shall we go find out?"

Wolf walked next to Fury as she said "You forget how to talk around kids, Nick....you were starting to scare them" She looked at him and said "Why do you need the kids anyway? Just send me and the X-men in, we can handle whatever threat has you so worried " She went ahead and opened the door for Charles's office, letting both go in before her.

"That is above your classification level. I would suggest you hunt around like dossier four did." He commented, handed the pile of files. The majority of those were easily registered as either alpha and beta mutants. Inside the forth file, she would find a picture of a small boy, dark brown hair stood next to a chopped boy not much taller than himself. A name, Oliver Pike, a brief description of his estimated height and weight, home town, known affiliates, known skills, past, and his mutant ability. The latter of which was strange: eidetic memory and an ability to absorb knowledge and memories. Perhaps it wasn't a fighting mutation, but in the right hands, Oliver had the ability to become quite lethal.

Oliver turned to look at Emily once more, who's ear was bleeding once again, as well as a small cut on the edge of her lip. He nudged her side and soon enough, she regained the same guarded faqade she usually had and wiped away the blood. He waited until the SHIELD agents and their teachers disappeared down the hall, before following after them

Wolf read thru the files, seeing faces she had seen before. She stopped dead when she saw Avery Logan's file come up and she looked at nick. "You have got to be kidding me. Logan's daugher? You know he will never let you have her. Right?"

Avery grabbed Emily's hand, giving her some of her healing power again as they stopped in front of the closed door just in time to hear Wolf's comment. Wolf dropped the files on Charles desk, looking upset. "Fury, you can't be serious. They are kids. Charles, say soemthing already"

"Avery, it won't help." The reopening of wounds which seemed to come and go with Emily was the side effect of her 'gift'. Perhaps it was a gift, especially with the high pain threshold and toleranance. It would explain why her name and picture were on the third dossier. Emily could have easily shown Avery had the stress levels been high enough. She followed behind Avery, running along side her.

"He has no choice in the matter. They are all old enough to decide for themselves, they will chose and should they say no, I have a few on standby should that occur." Fury said, his hands behind his back as usual. "Look, your team of Xmen do not possess the power together that these select mutants hold. We have a heavy mutant threat and I need a high level team. Who are not already trained to think one way." He added. "Call them all into the gym. Their names, that's something you already know. Call them and I can be out of here before any of students catch wind of this."

Avery stopped them and listened at the door, not liking what she was hearing. "WHere's dad when you need him...."

Wolf glared at him and said "Fine...but I am not letting any of them get into something they can't handle..." She looked at Charles and said "A lot of help you are...I'll get the kids into the gym..." She headed for the door, the kids getting out of the way as she burst thru the door and stormed by them.

"Others?" Oliver murmured, unsure of what that meant. If SHIELD had brought others, it either meant other mutants that worked for them, or- Oliver's face lit up. "Stark could be here?" He'd admired the man a long time, seen a fair few of his blueprints, all of which he could remember piece by piece. He stumbled backwards as the door flew open, bumping into Emily. She caught him quickly and the two of them stepped back.

Avery moved back with the pair, wolf walking by them. "Wolf? What's going on?" Wolf waved them with her and said "you guys can help me gather the other students...fury will explain everything in the gym.." She looked mad and Avery looked at the other too. "She's not normally like this.."
