Quick Synopsis; God(s) died, along with most of the world and the surrounding universe. Demons flood onto the last remaining continent, seeking our complete extermination, and the only thing that can protect us are the Wild Gods; humans imbued with the powers of God(s). Once a year the power seems to seek new hosts, and that time is upon us.

You will be a Wild God, a new deity granted the power to fight monsters, and protect the last bastion of humanity. Will you fall or flourish? Will you bravely face the beasts, or blindly flee back home? Will you hold the monsters at bay, or will you be the one to finally end their advances?

Go ahead and show some interest, and let's find out!

So at this point you may be asking yourself; but what can I //do// in this roleplay. Short answer; anything you want, it’s a roleplay. If you can scheme up a way for it to happen reasonably, it can happen.

That being said here’s a quick list of things Wild Gods are encouraged to do;

Now considering the world is mostly gone some things are a bit different. The names of some things have changed. Some things that didn’t exist(or we didn’t know about) have come into play. And some places have been renamed, so let’s cover that;

And of course there’s places. These I’ll update as we visit new areas, if we get that far;

Now that that’s out of the way let’s talk about character creation. Your character is a Wild God, and for the most part you’ll have freedom to make them however you want. The one big point you need to pay attention to, however is their domain. A domain has to be narrow; for instance ‘Ants’ would work, but not ‘Insects. ‘Engineering’, but not ‘Science’. ‘Hatred’ but not ‘Emotion’. Furthermore; while you’re free to choose something like Stars, or Killer Whales, or the like be aware that the universe is gone. Stars have all blinked out and you would feel something was missing, able only to use the basic Wild God skills. With rare beasties there may be only one or two left, and you may not be anywhere near them… So think before you choose.
Aside from that keep in mind that your characters were human until days before the start of the RP. This means they look human, it means they don’t have full control and understanding of their abilities, and it means that there may still be some disorientation from their heightened skills.
When filling out a character sheet please use the template provided below;

Explanation

And last but not least, before I forget it, The Rules;

That’s it.
Welcome to the OOC.
If you’ve got questions, comments, or concerns post them here.
If you just want to get to know your fellow RPers I encourage you to chat.
Hopefully we’ll get the IC started once I start getting more character sheets in.
Good day;

Just to help people decide on their chosen deity, what about something that might be far more numerous? Like choosing "canines"? Or maybe even dogs?
How many of those are left?

Most common animals are still around. There are still dogs, and cats, and birds; while not as numerous they're about as proportional to the remainder of mankind as they were proportional to the initial numbers. There are TONS of insects. A fair number of wild reptiles and canids survived. Animals that were on the endangered list before the End are gone, or very near to it. There's two lions left, but an NPC has that Domain. Two zoos survived the End, so there's a decent enough variety and if people have a question just let me know.

Keep in mind; there still being something doesn't mean it's particularly helpful at any given instant For instance; there may be a large remainder of dogs, but that doesn't mean they're all near you. You could empathize with and command any nearby,empower them with your Radiance, but you won't be able to just summon them all from across Million. At least; not to start. Keep in mind we'll be playing New wild gods. We'll have an effective range on abilities, to keep it from becoming too much too soon. I.E.; don't get caught without a means by which to employ your Domain readily at hand.

:=:=:Name: Mortimer Murdoch

:=:=:Alias: The Collector, Page-Gazer, Four-Eyes.

:=:=:Age: 28

:=:=:Race: Caucasian

:=:=:Gender: Male

:=:=:Appearance: Mortimer stands at 6'4" with a runner's build, thin-limbed and with good posture. His skin is very fair which contrasts his dark hair grown in a short, slicked back style and well trimmed short beard. His eyes are the blackest shade of brown and hidden under round glasses with a thin frame. He tries his best to maintain a neat appearance and generally dresses in layers up to a full 7-piece suit, preferably Italian design in dark color schemes. Anything he carries, usually books, are in an old black leather messenger bag slung across his shoulder.

:=:=:Symbol(s): A silhouette of circle-frame glasses, more ornate versions show them resting on an open book.

:=:=:Alignment: Lawful Neutral

:=:=:Weapon(s): Pens of the highest quality he can find. He is never left without one.

:=:=:Domain: Literature, the written, written language.

:=:=:Application(s):
-Active: Written words, while plain, hold amazingly powerful and vivid imagery. Mortimer can manifest this imagery into a tangible form, but destroying the material written on in the process.
-Passive: Has the ability to decipher any written text or code, no matter how foreign or limited.
If he has read something once, he can rewrite an exact copy.
Speed-reading, page-for-page the fastest alive.
Lastly, things written carry a weight of meaning that he can pick up on, so he can sense any text nearby no matter how hidden.

:=:=:Followers: Scholars and avid readers of all kinds. Any who wish to be followers must be literate.
*Update*Also, each of his followers pay him tribute of one book or a more rare document upon joining.

Rarely is there not a rotund rat around, and sinister spiders slink through every single crack in the sidewalk or ceiling.

BB; Your CS looks good, and I appreciate the self-limitation provided by destroying the written material, makes it so I'll have to police you a bit less.

Should have my own character up some time this evening, then I'll start work on the IC, which I'll release when those who showed interest submit a CS or back out.

Gamerscribe, are you attempting to arouse me to an alliteration altercation?

;=;=; Name: Matilda Plum

;=;=; Alias: Walker of the Between

;=;=; Age: 24

;=;=; Race: Caucasian

;=;=; Gender: Female

;=;=; Tall and thin, prefers simple clothes. Sweaters, loose, comfortable pants. Large, thick-rimmed glasses and long brown hair in a single braid. Has less-than-admirable posture, and pale skin from years spent indoors.

;=;=; Symbol: Two pillars, with a star stretched between them.

;=;=; Alignment: Neutral.

;=;=; Weapons: Sai, Bidents, tuning forks...

;=;=; Domain: All that lies in the space between.

;=;=; Applications:
-- Active:
Radiance Field: Can project a radiance field between objects of similar size and type, as long as they are within a certain distance of each other relative to their sizes.
Travelling: Can travel between the between spaces. Sight, eventually perception based limitations.
Blessing: Her followers can gain the ability to create radiance fields between their own hands, or each other. They can enter and hide between objects, although sufficiently strong demons could breach this protection if she is not personally bolstering it. They can also offer prayers to her at any between space.
Summoning: End-level skill. Summons "That-Which-Lurks", the otherworldly thing that is native to the Between Space. May induce incomprehension, an infinitely echoing wet-clicking noise, and a grand case of the heebie-jeebies. Willful, disobedient, carelessly destructive.
-- Passive:
Perception: Eventually, omnipotent knowledge of all "between spaces" in a proximity to her. This proximity grows as she becomes more familiar with her ability.
Communion: The space between spaces is empty to normal humans. Not so much to the God of Between. There is a thing that lives there, a thing that lurks, a thing that communicates. It is a poor, talkative conversation partner. Stumbling upon this skill unlocks the ability to summon the entity. This ability, once unlocked, is always on.

;=;=; Followers: All those who see patterns in the chaos of the world, who find the space between spaces. Conspiracy theorists, obsessive-compulsives, the sharp-eyed and wide-minded.

Let me know if it needs any fine tuning. I've never RP'ed a god before.

Whatever would warrant such wild words of wanton speculation?

Irregardless of the answer; your character sheet looks by and large acceptable, considering you added 'eventually' to some of the more advanced abilities(had you claimed them off the bat I'd have simply said no). In regards to this creature, 'That-Which-Lurks', I'm not inherently against it(it's fairly clever, as things go) but I will be messaging you in private to establish whether or not it's reasonable and making sure finite limitations are placed upon it if I do allow it.

:=:=:Race: Caucasian
:=:=:Gender: Female

:=:=:Symbol(s): A river twisted into a knot.
:=:=:Alignment: Chaotic, trying to stay Good
:=:=:Weapon(s): Knives, ropes, illusions
:=:=:Domain: Madness
:=:=:Application(s):
-Active: Can induce hallucinations or heighten emotions to the point they override reason.
-Passive: Anyone around her is affected by her abilities, but to a lesser extent. What appears to her victim as a horrific demon might look to a bystander like someone in a Halloween mask. Likewise with her emotional manipulations.
-Drawback: She isn't immune to the bizarre world growing in her mind, and neither are those around her. Jennifer and anyone other than a Wild God who stays close to her will find their mental health decaying, albeit very slowly.
:=:=:Followers: The insane, outcasts from society. Nobody in their right mind.

Verily, t'was your vivid vocabulary, voluminous with vim and verve.

Sure, I'm up for hashing out the details on That-Which-Lurks. Just let me know when and how.

Geminironin: Thank you for the repost here, I appreciate it as it will make my job a bit easier.

Journeyman: Congratulations, cheers, and crude whooping of celebration are in order my cunning and crass competitor in the contest of collective alliterative communication.

After all; we got all the 'That-Which-Lurks' business sorted.

Accepted.

Perhaps; however, that's not entirely accurate and I do so hate to be imprecise.

There's also the small fact that I don't care if I get a large amount of players, I simply want a handful of decent people who will stick around.

Anywho; IC should be up tomorrow or Sunday depending on what life throws my way. And my own CS will be up some time this evening I believe.

I am excited for this and to see Arven, whom I assume is your character. I also added to my character that his followers pay him books as tribute. I took it as they are slightly more sparse in the post-apocalypse. I also plan to reference very real ones if given the opportunity.

Heh; Arven is not my character. I mean; not my main. He's sort of the super NPC, overseeing things. I'm excited to be able to use him, and hope that he comes across the way I want... Anyway; I'm running him but he won't always be around.

I actually have a Wild God in mind, albeit I've made it so his usefulness is a bit limited.

Books are more sparse, yes. Everything is. I'd love some real-book references. Always nice to be able to add to my reading list.
