A thousand years have passed since machine kind's remaining human died, along with the super virus...they're finally ready to take the only and absolute last human out of suspended animation.

Name: Andrea Rose

Age: 19 (Technically 1,019 years old)

Appearance:

Personality: Andrea is usually a very friendly kind of girl who is very trusting with others, she however does not get used to change very easily. She makes friends rather quickly and can usually get along with anyone she makes contact with. In her spare time Andrea enjoys music and also watching any kind of sports.

Bio: Andrea was born into rather large and wealthy family, her father was a scientist while her mother is a college professor growing up Andrea lived a rather normal life she was a very smart student in high school and always got good grades. When she turned seventeen that's when the virus broke out, and in a year the virus had became a world wide epidemic. It would start out as a common cold, and then a very high fever and eventually hemorrhaging and then death, Andrea eventually lost her brother and younger sister to the illness and then her mother a few months later along with her boyfriend at the time.

Her father was a head scientist at the time running a cryogenics lab the only way he thought he could save the last member of his family was to put his own daughter in cryo sleep until they found a cure to the virus. Knowing that he might not survive or any of the other scientists he built an android to watch over her and to make sure that the machine that held his daughter was working properly, as the last human died outside in the world the only thing that humans had left behind were some robots, androids.

Occupation: Andrea's Personal Guardian.

Brief Bio: One of the oldest models of Androids Felix was created by Andrea's father, knowing that he wouldn't survive he wanted to make sure that his daughter was looked after for however long she would be needed to be put in cryo stasis. But when humanity eventually succumbed to the virus Felix was left to watch over her for over the next one thousand years. When the gynoids and other androids decided to try and become more human he decided to take on a much younger looking boy around her age, just to make Andrea more comfortable with the appearance. When he was told that they were going to be taking Andrea out of sleep he was excited, he only met her briefly as her father and a few surviving technicians were setting up the stasis pod for her.

Species/Race: Gynoid

Occupation: Doctor/Mechanic

Brief Bio: Sophia a newer more human looking gynoid was always fascinated with what humans would be like and studied everything that she could about them, what they would eat, what their needs would be. Sophia was eventually put to overlook the revival process with bringing out the human from cryo stasis, her job is also to make sure that other androids and gynoids and any other robotics are all working in fine order. Though Sophia can come off as slightly shy or timid but she is more social able once she does get to know the person.

Species/Race: Android

Occupation: Police Officer.

Brief Bio: John is an officer of the local police department, he is one of the androids who takes his job seriously and is very good at his job. He however dislikes humans due to the violence that they cause which some machines cause crimes which inspired by humans. He however does have a nice calm side to him once someone gets to know him and even will have fun if given the chance to. When he found out that they were going to revive the human in cryo he was not sure how to react to any of it, he intends to investigate her as best he can and make sure that she follows the law.

With humanity gone, machine kind has tried to find purpose in either renewing the world left behind, or with upgrading themselves to becoming as close to human like as possible. Within only two hundred years of humanity dying of the super virus, all machines have been upgraded with advanced enough AIs to give them basic enough sentience, and with superior humanoid machines having upgraded themselves to almost seamlessly emulate both human behaviour and movement.

Soon after, the most humanlike of machines ended up being appointed as the leaders of this new found society…admittedly, only due to being the most humanlike, garnering followers due to the innate programming that most would have towards following humans. Still, the centuries that followed, machines of middle to lower caste began to shut themselves down in droves, as they no longer found purpose in their own existence even with the world’s restoration half complete. No one can say for certain, but it with them following the upper caste fervently, their loss of human kind made them almost worship that which reminded them of it. The upper caste, at this point, had become too conceited to do more than upgrade the middle caste and forget about the lower caste…

Some ‘machines who care’ became entertainers, from reinacting menial to dramatic human behaviours, all in order to give some other machines reason to keep going on…this also started the upper caste partying/emulated reality televised programming revolution. Still, after much deliberation by some of the thoughtful upper caste, they brought out the only human left out of their suspended animation. This is both to boost the morale of the population, and to properly observe and see what humans have that the upper caste had yet to make or emulate.

Fennec

Appearance: Standing at approximately six foot even, the robot previously had clear casing for this entirety in order to display the unique jointing, flexing, movements of his internal workings…but an upgrade or two would see him add a more human appearance from the shoulders up, adding a truly friendly face to the robot.


Species/Race: Machine (Upper-middle caste upgrade android)

Occupation: Entertainer

Brief Bio: Originally part of a very simple project done by a student of robotics, Fennec was one of the original advance movement robots…in fact, the tagline for him was ‘Fennec can foxtrot better than you’, as one of the main things he was to do was to learn to dance with a human partner. During the time of humans, Fennec even won a few awards in actual dance competitions.

At that time, and even now, the robot outclassed all other competitions when it comes to fluid mobility. Still, what people saw was a dancing robot, but what people didn’t see was Fennec learning alongside his creator, instead of being programmed like most other machines. Still, the death of his creator was very traumatising, even for a basic AI robot. For a long time, Fennec remained without an upgrade, long after the death of his creator and the humans. The machine eventually allowed for certain upgrades after the first series of shut downs, and had a more human looking face installed to make himself look more friendly.

He’s one of the few excited about the prospect of a certain human being brought out of suspended animation.

Café des Amis

Appearance: A two floor, fully automated (internal building) café. The first floor is open to the outside tables and sidewalk, with floor to ceiling windows. The second floor has ceiling windows and a balcony garden. The hologram of Café des Amis’s master AI itself can change, and is even fully customisable to the customers…though the café preferring to go by ‘the Steward’ often causes machines to prefer to refer to it in masculine pronouns. Of course, holograms and more specifically…the AI of the Steward is unable to leave the area.

Species/Race: Fully Automated Café (lower caste machine)

Occupation: Café

Brief Bio: Full automated years before the super virus, the full automated restaurant was one of a handful owned by an chain of expensive restaurants, to see if a café without staff would be a possibility. With the use of skilful mechanical arms, serving stations built into the walls and tables, import AI to custom service hologram features, and the classy interior decorum, the café was popular till the end of humanity. The café wouldn’t see the end of humanity, exactly, being shut down a month before the very end…only being activated a few centuries later for scripted entertainer, reinacting day to day activities for gods only knows reasons.

Veronika

Appearance: Tall, standing at an imposing six foot six inches…Veronika is an ex-sexaroid gynoid with an androgynous face. Her style changes like the seasons, btu she likes to wear skimpy outfits for herself. Working as the public terrorism service deputy, she wears a full Evalu8 helm and uniform.


Species/Race: Ex-sexaroid Gynoid (Upper Caste)

Occupation: Public Terrorism Service Deputy

Brief Bio: There’s not much to say about her past as a sexaroid, other than she holds the typical disdain for humans that most of her kind has, and that she was one of many upper caste machines to object to the human being taking out of cryostasis. For a long time, she did hold quite a bit of power on the machine council, but decided to settle into the career of Deputy to the Public Terrorism sector of service. Her job entailing that she makes sure that scheduled and/or emergency acts of public terrorism go smoothly in her specific city, that no machine gets damaged in the events…or else, the machines that do are part of scripted events/public performance.

Public Terrorism is a special form of entertainment. ‘Random’ explosions to give construction machines to do…an apartment fire so that there is drama to watch, people (acting humanoid robots with scripts) to rescue, and a damaged building to repair. Public Terrorism is a bit extreme to some, but was brought in after a particularly devastating amount of machines shut off for good. This service is either scheduled (though few know of this scheduling) or called in as an emergency quick improv, as advised for machines feeling the urge to shut off for good. As soon as an emergency is called in, this service’s deputies and entertainers in the area will act soon to create a shooting or vehicular accident.
