Name: Opal Yelland
Age: 25
Gender: Female
Appearance:
Canon, AU, or OC?: OC
Universe of Origin: One Piece

Personality: Opal is extremely greedy and is not scared of using harming methods to get what she wants. She also loves to eat all sorts of things, including really strange things such as plastic, wood, or even some kinds of metal. This is possible due to her ability. She enjoys toying with her adversaries, usually by faking a wound caused by them.

Abilities/Weapons: She ate the Suraimu Suraimu no mi devil fruit (Slime slime fruit) and became a slime woman. Her body is composed of acidic slime and she can create acidic slime from her hands as well as alter it's consistency. She can alter the acidity of the slime as well as it's color.

She often uses a pistol made with a metal that can resist the acidity of her body. She does not use bullets. Instead, she loads the pistol with her own slime and fires it simply by forcing that slime out of the pistol. She also has a sword, made with the same metal of her pistol, although she rarely uses it.

Backstory: Despite acquiring her powers at the age of 10, Opal didn't used them until two years later when she finally joined a pirate crew due to fear of not being able to control them. Despite being ordered around for the first years, Opal finally became strong enough to dethrone her captain and rule over what would be known as the Smiley Slime pirates. Over the following years, they became more and more famous, stealing everything they could without worrying about others. Soon, they had an amazing bounty on their heads.

One day, after pillaging a small island and acquiring a strange object, they found themselves ambushed by three navy warships. While the warships weren't there for her crew, it was clear that they would destroy any pirate they found on their way to the destination. Opal gave the order to retreat. Despite her strength, her small vessel was no match for three warships. During their escape, they were hit head on by a storm and fell pray to a whirlpool. This was going to be the end for them... except... it wasn't. As soon as the ship reached the middle of the whirlpool, everyone lost their senses and did not notice a large beam of light enveloping the ship. When they finally regained consciousness, they noticed that the storm had subsided and that they were all alive and well. They began chanting and cheering, but Opal was different. She looked up. It was night time. When they had entered the whirlpool, it was starting to become morning, but now, it was a night dark as coal. And there were... not one... not two... but five moons? And one of them with a massive crater? And the swaying of the boat... What a minute... There was no swaying... Opal ran to one of the sides of the boat. She couldn't believe it... Sand... Sand everywhere... On the other side... Same thing. Sand... No sea in sight.

The other pirates, after watching Opal's actions, finally realized the same thing. They were in a strange land... And they had no idea how to leave.
Faction: None. For now...

Um... how acidic?

She is able to control it, but I think her top acidic level would be that of sulfuric acid. For now. I intend to make her stronger as the RP goes on.

Ooh, maybe you can alter the acidity so that it's so high Opal becomes basic! There's a lot of cool chemical mucking about you can do with a character that can change their pH levels!

Yes, I do intend to make her go base as well, but that will be for later on.

That... does not actually clarify, given how important the concentration is.

I'm not going to say that I have any knowledge of chemistry, because I don't. That being said, I did made some research on the subject since this character's abilities are abilities that I've used in many many characters. Sulfuric acid, when mixed with water, is able to completely dissolve skin and tissue in about 12 hours, and in 2 days, the bones will also have melted. This is the acidity that I would like to have on my character.

Diluted sulfuric acid is not really acidic. If you want to have your character's acidic powers be strong enough to have a noticeable effect within seconds or minutes instead of hours, I'd recommend having a concentration around industrial sulfuric acid at most, since that's the closest to the Hollywood "melt paint off steel" acid you seem to be looking for.

The molarity of a liter of sulfuric acid is around 18 mol/L. However, sulfuric acid can be washed off somewhat easily and is largely halted by glass or plastic. Potentially, you could extend that to magical shields. It'll be reasonably effective against metals, immensely effective against electronics and bare skin, and almost useless against glass and magic shields.

If you want to be as acidic as a bath of acid-water, that's entirely up to you.

Thing is. She's not a liquid. She's a slime. Not so easily washed up. I also don't want to be really over-powered. I'll take your advice and go with the industrial sulfuric acid then.

So... do they have any weaknesses as an acidic slime thing? Since otherwise... they seem to be a logia, and unless I'm misremembering things, that makes attacking them essentially pointless.

I was asking in the interest that there might be something more readily available than industrial quantities of cleaning products; bleach was my first thought.

Being submerged in water (the minimum amount is just up to your knees, so I'd say being submerged in two feet of water is sufficient to completely defeat her) renders any Devil Fruit user incapacitated. Likewise, magic force is capable of easily pushing them around. If nothing else, heat would dessicate or even vaporize gelatinous sulfuric acid.

Name: Pilcrow

Age: Looks to be somewhere around 19-28.

Gender: Male

Appearance: Pilcrow is very pale and short, standing at 4'08". His eyes are a dull brown, and he has a head of short, black hair that never seems to grow. Pilcrow wears a white vest covered in ablative plating, dull gray cargo pants, and does not wear shoes. Any weapons that he isn't holding seem to disappear, and reappear in his hands whenever he needs them.

Canon, AU, or OC?: AU

Universe of Origin: Cave Story

Personality: Pilcrow is a restless wanderer without purpose, trying to find out who he was. He doesn't talk much, but will reply if spoken to. He is altruistic, and is willing to help out people who ask.

Abilities
Arsenal: Pilcrow can carry up to 20 weapons with no problem. Don't ask where they go when he's not using them, he doesn't know either.
Analytic: Examining a technology-based weapon for a few seconds gives Pilcrow a good idea of how it works. Using it for a few minutes is good enough to be proficient in its use. With a few hours, he can master its use to a level that not even the weapon's creator could imagine.
Agility: While Pilcrow is not exceptionally fast, his reflexes are quicker than greased lightning, and he can make tactical decisions in less than an instant.
Flexibility: Pilcrow's body was built out of a special malleable poly-alloy, which allows him to survive being crushed flat, and to slip through tight spaces by reforming his body. His body can be regenerated with the consumption of large amounts of raw material.

Gear
Machine Gun: An weapon that fires large energy bolts at high speeds. Has to recharge its shots between volleys and has considerable recoil, which can be used to the user's advantage.
Polar Star: An extremely basic energy pistol, well-used by its previous owner. Looks incomplete.
Fireball: A small flamethrower-like firearm that fires superheated balls of plasma. For some reason, the plasma balls are able to bounce across the ground and up slopes.
Blade: A sword imbued with a strange energy. For some reason, whenever Pilcrow tries to swing it, he is knocked off balance and ends up cutting himself.
Air Tank: Less of an air tank and more of a small oxygenated forcefield, it keeps Pilcrow dry and comfortable while underwater. Also prevents drowning.
Helicopter: A bulky transport craft, its closest real-world equivalent would be a CH-47. Pilcrow is just barely able to pilot it.

Backstory:

@ToadRopes: I don't see any problems here, but be careful with how many characters you use.

@Dragonydas: I'm kind of concerned about how she can possibly be fought. If it takes hard-hitting magic attacks(since water's not always available and chemistry knowledge is not widespread), those are kind of likely to kill her which makes them kind of a no-go in an RP. In addition, now that she's gotten her acidity up I'm pretty sure everything but magical weapons or super-scientific shielded stuff are going to be incapable of doing anything to her since it'd just be damaged or destroyed. I can't accept this.

@Bohnham: Not seeing any issues really, accepted.

Industrial-strength sulfuric acid is not actually all that corrosive. If you set something in it for minutes at a time, it'll definitely corrode, but its main danger is the fact that it burns stuff. That's why people can store sulfuric acid at all instead of it just eating through the plastic/metal container it's being held in. The biggest danger with being splashed with sulfuric acid is if it gets into any electronics or touches your bare skin.
