Robert was once again, impressed with how detailed she was just on the first day on her research mission. As he walked, he smiled a bit. While she was telling him Gibson's strategy, he was going over his theories on what he did, and some were right, some weren't. Gibson was good, he had taken down other organized crimes before... But Robin Hood and the Merry Men were not something you can stop by following text book rules. They didn't come from a silly little movie. Maybe tomorrow he could make work a bit more interesting. Then she went on to talk about, well, himself, and he couldn't help but smile behind the mask.

"I think you're giving Locksley a bit too much credit." Robin said, looking over at her. "But if you think he's a threat... I'll look in to it. He's good, I'll give him that." He turned to look over at her. "Good job. I'm once again impressed... I can see that you're up for the task of helping the poor, and stealing from the people who don't deserve it." Robin nodded, looking her up and down. "Nice coat by the way." He added.

"Now that you've now are going against the federal agency, you should know about a safehouse. There's a small church on the south part of Manhattan. A man named Father "Friar" Tuck runs the place, and gives everyone in the Merry Men a place to rest when on the run. All you have to do is give him the code phrase: You Get what you Give. He'll know instantly, and you'll be alright. That's only if you're in trouble, though."

"Keep on finding what you can on the guy... And maybe stop by that church, you might see some familiar faces there. I'll see you around, Marian." He gave a nod of his head to her, and then parted ways with her, in to the not so populated streets of New York.

As he was walking away, he got a call from his phone. Checking it, he saw Gwen was calling him. "Romeo's Pizza." Robin said jokingly. "Robin. Cassie is gone."

"What?" Robin asked, picking up his pace to a run.

"I used the restroom, and when I came back, her stuff was gone... She was asking about Robin Hood earlier, and saw your files, and I think she's going to do something dumb...!"

"Alright... Try to track her phone." Robert said. A minute later while still on the line, Gwen spoke up. "Got her. She's... At some clothing store... Oh no. A silent alarm just went off... The Police are on their way." Gwen gave her the address of the area, and Robin booked it to the motorcycle he parked a couple blocks away (Some of the Charity funds went to Merry Men's equipment), and raced towards the place where his dumb cousin was at. At the same time, Guy Gibson was on the way there too, with a squad of policemen, thinking they finally will be able to catch a Merry Man.

She impressed him again. Her heart was soaring and nothing could take her down at this moment. She was on cloud nine and helping people! Marian’s father would surely regret not allowing her to join the police force and fight for good in that sense; instead she was fighting against her father to help the poor. Isn’t it interesting how children never truly du e what you want them to do?

She listened closely to the safe house information and nodded; maybe that wasn’t the best sign that Guy seemed to know that some people like the Merry Men would have a safe house. But who would suspect a church. Though back in the olden times, a person would run into the church and claim sanctuary for safety. It’s only ironic and logically that they would seek the safety from everything in a church. But when he said he would look into Robert Locksley she nodded in agreement. “Please do, I do think he could become a problem.” She commented before giving him a smile and a nod. “Good bye, have a good night.”

Her walk to her car was pleasant; the sun was setting and gave a glow along the streets of New York City. Climbing into her little car, she began to go down the street humming to herself. She was an official member of the Merry Men and now she could finally help people in the way she’s wanting to. Finding herself nearly dancing to the music she got lost in it as she turned the corner and slammed on her breaks turning her car sharply; nearly hitting a small figure in black.

Jumping out of her car, Marian’s blue gaze landed on a horrified young girl, “Cassie?” She said in shock. “What are you doing running around in black on the streets of New York!? You should be home with Robert. What are you doing?!” The young girl seemed so stunned to see the blonde haired lady that she just stared at her and it wasn’t until the flashing police lights showed up and guns pointed at the two of them that Marian held up her hands and realized, with a death glare to Cassie, that the young girl had stolen something.

Cassie was going to get it when they got home, oooohhh he wasn't a lecture type of guy, especially to his cousins, but he was her supervision while she was in New york. And Robert is going to give her the biggest "I'm so disappointed in you" speech of all time. He was still in his uniform, he heard the sirens of the police cars, but when he got to the store that she robbed, he cussed silently as to see that she wasn't there, but a lot of police officers. Before they could spot him, he booked it down the street, glancing back and forth on the sidewalk to see where she ran off to.

He finally found her. on a street corner, hands out with officers pointing guns at her... It was too late for him to change, it was too late for him to leave the area, and it was too late for him to talk his way out of this... Shit. Marian was also there. Robin Hood blared a horn though to cut through the police cars surrounding the two women, stopping right in front of them for their protection. He stopped and glanced at Cassie and Marian to make sure they were alright, then at the four police officers, who were a bit shocked to see this. "Is that...?"

"Brad Pitt? No, but don't worry, I get confused with him alot." Robin replied bowing his head a bit towards the police officers. Of course they were so shocked that they didn't know what to say. Its not every day THE Robin Hood purposely gets surrounded by police officers. But they didn't have enough time. They would soon remember that he is the most wanted man in New York, and he would most likely be asked to surrender. He had no intentions of doing that.

He climbed off the bike, and held out his hand towards Cassie, who stared at it for a moment before realizing what he was asking, and she handed him the items she stole just recently. Not bad for her first robbery. An expensive watch, two necklaces, and a pair of shoes. Robin took the items and held it out to the police officers. "I was hoping we could get off with a warning tonight?" He asked, the officers still held their weapons out. Robin sighed. "Alright, then..."

When becoming a wanted man, and a master thief, fighting had to come natural to you. Robin was a very talented archer, but when you're close range, that weapon doesn't do so well.. so another skill he had to pick up was hand to hand fighting. Knowing how to disarm someone up close, and not killing them (That wasn't Robert's style).

He threw the items towards the police officers, and then stepped forward towards the closest officer. He grabbed the officer's wrist, twisting it slightly so she could let go of the firearm, and then he dismantled it in a sweep swoop. He had light fingers. He then rolled off her back and kicked a man in the stomach, making him lose his balance and hitting the cop car. He hit the ground and rolled when the other two officers started shooting, but he kicked in one of their legs, taking the gun, and then slamming the butt of it in the other officer's wrist. They would all get bruises here, of course, but nothing serious. He wasn't here for that, and it would make him look like the bad guy.

out from his belt he pulled out a police baton, and looked at the officers. "We're going to leave peacefully now, alright?" He asked, then turned his attention to the girls. "Get to the safe house, I'll meet up with yo--" Another gun went off, and Robin fell to his knees with the largest amount of pain he has ever felt. His side was on fire, and he cussed himself out in his mind, forgetting that he didn't dismantle one of the guns. "Go! Now!"

He couldn't go with them. If he did, they would tag Marian's license plates, they would open fire on the car, and they would be wanted criminals for helping Robin Hood. Right now, they were people Robin was helping. They won't get penalized for that (well, Cassie would be charged with robbery... but he was sure they would forget about her since he was here).

He leapt over on to the opposite side of his motor cycle for cover, and he pulled out a very classic a cliche item: a smoke bomb. He quickly climbed on his his bike, and drove hard and fast, making as many turns as he could, going in to alley ways, and when he absolutely made sure he wasn't being followed, he made it to the small church Friar Tuck owned. He parked the bike a couple of blocks away in an alley, and he soon remembered that he had a bullet in his side.

He made the trek to the entrance of the church, and as he stepped in, all he could mutter was "Father..." but he trailed off, falling to the ground. Although his clothing soaked up all the blood he was losing, he still had lost a lot.

What was this crazy girl doing? Why was she out in a city she didn’t know, with the cops chasing her down and pointing guns at her? The death glare was intense and even Cassie’s shoulders dropped as she made eye contact with the angry blonde. Not only was Cassie going to get her butt chewed out but Robert was as well. Why would he let her go out by herself?! Or maybe he didn’t know, he could be working late at the office and she snuck out. Either way Robert was going to get a piece of her mind when she saw him again about leaving his cousin unattended. Even though she’s 17; it is New York City and New York City has its temptations.

A horn blared and to her shock, a motor cycle flew between the two cop cars and stopped in front of the two girls. Hands up, she turned her attention to the driver to see it was Robin Hood. What did he want? Why was he here? Her face scrunched in confusion as he turned his attention to Cassie and held out his hand. What? What was going on? Ooohhh… after seeing the things that Cassie pulled out of her pocket and handed to Robin, her glare got even more stern. Why was she doing this? Did she have an obsession with Robin Hood as well… wait, what?

When Robin went to the police, Marian went straight to Cassie and grabbed her by her arm. “What on earth do you think you’re doing?”

“That’s…”

“Yes we’ve established who he is, you know who I am and unless you want to get introduced to the cops you better tell me why the hell you’re running around New York City stealing stuff? Did you think you wouldn’t get caught?!”

“I just wanted to meet Robin Hood…”

“Stealing we’ll get you thrown into jail before a moment like this happened. You’re not going to meet someone, especially like him by trying to mimic what he does…”

The girl’s attention moved to Robin as he hollered to them. But the gunfire is obviously what got to them. Unlike Cassie who nearly jumped out of her skin towards Robin to help, Marian shoved her backwards, yanked open the car door and forced the bickering seventeen year old into the car. “Be safe.” She said quickly as she dashed around her small vehicle and jumped into the driver’s seat. Without anything else said or interrupted, her car roared to life and sped off.

“YOU’RE GOING TO LEAVE HIM THERE?!” Cassie screamed at Marian as she struggled to find the door handle in the expensive car.

“Cassie you don’t understand the situation that could have happened if we stayed…”

“HE WAS SHOT!”

“And if we would have stayed we could have been shot or arrested. He can escape better if we’re not around. DO YOU KNOW NOTHING?!” Marian snapped harshly to the young girl who suddenly got quiet. “If you honestly wanted to be part of the Merry Men, you should have gone about it the other way. You’re stressing everyone out.” Her body tensed as she drove, her hand tightened against the steering wheel as she turned the corner and started south.

“Isn’t the south section of New York City dangerous?”

“Nothing is more dangerous than how pissed off I am at you right now.” Marian said darkly as she stared straight ahead in the drive. The drive was silent until they reached the church. Climbing out, she parked around back and slammed the door shut with anger. “Get up the stairs, now.” Marian thumped after the climbing teenager and opened the door to the church.

A man came up to them in surprise. “Welcome, what has brought you to the church today?” He asked softly, a gentle smile upon his face.

“Forgive us for the intrusion father. We are meeting a friend here for safety I was told to tell you, you get what you give.” Marian said as she shut the door behind them.

“I see,” The Friar said with a nod and a warm smile, “Come with me.” With that he led the young ladies to a back room and inside where there were tables, chairs, couches and other things to help one relax. Robin wasn’t kidding when he said that the Friar allowed them to lay low. Attached was a bathroom with a shower and blankets and pillows were neatly folded in the corner. Every church had a kitchen, for most Father’s lived within them.

A gentle gesture allowed the ladies to enter before the Friar stepped back out into the church taking in a deep relaxing breathe. That was until the front door opened once again; many lost souls find their way to his church so he wasn’t surprised to see someone else entering. What he didn’t expect was to find his friend nearly falling through the door. “Oh no. HELP!” He shouted to the people in the back and he took off down the walk way to the door. “Robin, Robin I’m here, it’s okay. I’ve got you.” He spoke in a calm manner to avoid sending the injured young man into a panic.

Marian and Cassie were soon to the men, Marian took one of Robin’s arms and the Friar took the other while Cassie led the way. “Miss,” Friar said to Marian as they laid Robin down on the couch, “Please get some wet towels and in the medicine cabinet is some cleaning supplies with a needle and thread. Can you retrieve them for me?”

“Yes of course.” Marian said and she was off.

Reaching up, the Friar pushed the hood back from his face, revealing the closed eyes of the young hero. “My friend, you always come injured and never to visit.” He said softly with a smile upon his face, reaching down he rolled up the fabric to reveal the bullet. It was stuck out and visible, which was a good sign that he didn’t have to dig for it. “Child.” The Friar said, address Cassie who held back a look of disapproval for being called a child. “This will be a lot of blood and he will be in a lot of pain if he returns to consciousness. Can you hold him down whilst I work?” All Cassie could do was nod and placed her hands on Robin’s shoulders. Upon Marian’s return, the skilled Friar went to work.

An hour had gone by and many towels covered in blood were put into the washer before the Friar declared him done and fixed. Marian and the Friar went into the laundry room where replacement clothes hung for means of a disguise and began to talk. Cassie was left unattended with the masked vigilante.

Her gaze moved along him, he had been through a lot and she had wanted to know so badly… her temptation got the best of her and her hand rose up, slowly and gently pulling down the handkerchief that had covered his face… what she saw was… was….

Robin was in and out of consciousness a few times before going through the very small operation that had to take place. He would have replied to Friar Tuck, but the searing pain in his side made him unable to really put words in his mouth... Marian was helping him to a table, and he saw all the concerned faces, and as his hood was pulled away he lost consciousness. He was too out of it to mention not to take off his mask to Tuck, or the two women, he just hoped that no one would get the idea... But he was wrong. He came through a bit later, opening his eyes groggily to see his cousin staring down at him, completely shocked at what she saw... Was she still amazed that Robin Hood was here? He tried to sit up, but he winced in pain and laid back down, looking over at Cassie.

"R...Rob...?" She muttered. and Robin Hood nodded. "yeah, Robin Hood. In the flesh..." He said with a weak smile, but the smile soon faded when he saw his handkerchief in her hand. She knew who he was. "Shit..." Robert said, closing his eyes. "You're Robin Hood?! Why didn't you tell me!" She demanded. "Because you ran away to New York to rob things on the off chance that Robin Hood, a masked man you never met and haven't seen ever before, catches you robbing something before the cops so you could somehow join his team of criminals." Robin said rather simply. Cassie shook her head. "I would have gotten away..." She began.

"Is that why I got shot?" Robert asked, taking back the bandana and tying it around his face again. "Come on, Uncle Rob! I was pretty good! You have to admit!"

"You stole from a store just to get our attention. You didn't do it to donate to the poor, you didn't steal from somewhere that really could spare a couple articles of clothing, and although you managed to snag a few things, you got caught. There's a lot you need to learn before you can just join-- Which i'm not saying you will. So don't get any ideas." Robin said, pointing a finger at her. "If I had someone to teach me... Wait... John... and Gwen... Are they...?"

"Yeah, but we aren't discussing this right now. You're going to pretend that I'm not your uncle, and that you don't know me. Because Marian doesn't need to know. Not yet anyway..." Robin began, and Cassie nodded. "No problem..."

Robin was bare from the waist up, but bandaged on his side. He didn't know when Father Tuck learned how to do this kind of stuff, but he wasn't complaining. He gave him enough meds and enough treatment for the wound to feel tolerable. Soon enough both Friar Tuck and Marian came back, holding fresh clothes for him, and a green hoodie. "How bad was it?" Robin asked as Tuck handed him the clothes. "A minor injury with your status." He answered. "The bullet went in, but not too deep, but running around and driving didn't help with the blood loss."

"Huh... Thanks for the patch up." He looked up to see Marian. "And thanks for taking her to safety. Not the best way to spend your night..." Robin said with a smile behind his mask. "But you can't say it wasn't exciting, right?"

He slowly sat up. "Oh, Father, this is our newest Merry Man, Marian Anderson."

"yes, I know. We had a lovely discussion. I have to say, its a surprise that the police chief's daughter is willing to help us..." He was pretty much saying "I hope you know what you're doing, Robert." But Robin nodded. "I have friends everywhere, father. The police chief's daughter, a priest, all i need is a Rabbi and I can start a really bad joke."

“My child, you’re new to Robin’s cause.” The Friar said gently to Marian as they worked together to put the cleaning products away and start a load of laundry to help clean the blood covered clothing.

“I am father, I’m Marian Anderson; new recruit.” She said with a smile before looking over at the Friar who seemed to show a slightly bewildered look upon his face.

“You’re the daughter of the police chief.” He said, to which he received a nod. A smile moved across the man’s face as he looked back down at his work. “Blessed be the Lord, allowing us to have such a person to help with the cause. Tell me my child, do you wish to help the poor?”

“Yes father I do.” Marian said with honesty; giving a good nod and a small smile across her face as she finished putting the supplies away. “I’ve always wanted to; it’s been a passion of mine for quite some time but I’ve been denied to do so by my father. He didn’t want me to be a police officer and he knew I’d never want to be a lawyer; so I stayed in the court system…”

“This is a risky way to help the poor…”

“I’m aware of that Father, I’ve made my choice and will stick to it through thick and thin.”

The Friar stopped what he was doing and turned to face Marian. “I’m glad to hear that my child, because this could end up calling for a lot more than you know. Please, be mindful, be cautions and most importantly, never lose faith.” With that the two exited the back room to meet up with Robin and Cassie once more.

Marian was a bit twitterpatted seeing Robin bare chested. Her breathe caught in her chest and she felt her face explode into a red color. Small coughs of shyness left her as she shifted from side to side holding her purse; when he turned to talk to her, her blue eyes moved up to look at him though she wasn’t sure why she was suddenly embarrassed and/or shy but it happens. “Excitement is for sure.” She said with a small laugh, Cassie giving her a confused look before a quick look of understanding moved across the seventeen year old’s face.

“As much as I’d love to stay and chat,” Marian said reaching over and grabbing Cassie by her arm. “I have to take this one home and give her cousin a piece of my mind.”

“Wait, it wasn’t his fault…” Cassie began to defend Robert as Marian started to drag her out of the back room.

“Robin, Father; I will see you both later…” She called from behind her as she yanked the girl along.

The car ride was a heated discussion over what caused Cassie to be out and do something so stupid. Cassie defended Robert to the bitter end, stating that he knew nothing about her leaving and didn’t know that she was going to steal anything. “I bet he’s running the streets of New York City looking for me right now.” She said defending him, the only problem was that neither one of them had the ability to contact Robert because they didn’t have his cell phone number (needing Robert Locksley’s cell phone number… did Marian ever think that would be something she would ‘need’? Not in a million years). And apparently Marian couldn’t hit a single green light on her way back to the city.

“Tell me how to get Robert’s house or I’m taking you to the police station for the night.” Cassie’s jaw dropped as she looked at the driving blonde who just kept her attention straight ahead. “Those are your only choices.” She said shortly before Cassie finally started to give directions to Robert’s house. Again, they hit every red light attempting to get there.

Parking in the guest parking spot at the apartment complex Marian climbed out and Cassie reluctantly followed suite. “If Robert isn’t here, we’re sitting outside of the door. And if he is here he better be stressed to high hell in worry about you or he’s going to get a piece of my mind.” She said sharply to the girl wagging her finger. As they climbed the stairs, Marian’s rage dropped; her worry subsided knowing that Cassie was home, Robin was okay and the police will most likely be too bamboozled over the fact that they shot Robin Hood that they would forget about Cassie and her. There probably was a party at the station, thinking that if he was shot someone would have to go to the hospital for help; and they’d know exactly who it was. Or at least be able to narrow it down to suspects based off of the hospital report. That and, the cop that shot would probably get some form of raise. It’s the closest any officer could ever gotten Robin and they hope it won’t be the last. Hell, he had to be the hospital right?

Marian’s hand rose and she gave the door a shift knock. “Robert, Robert is Marian… I have someone here for you.” She said shooting Cassie a disapproving glare.

“I saw the way you looked at him…” Cassie said playfully, a smirk across her face and her gaze shooting up to Marian. Her face instantly turned red and before she could retort, the door handle began to move.

Uh oh. He didn't plan that. Both Robert and Cassie glanced at each other with a bit of fear in their eyes as she talked about taking her back and having a word with Robert himself. If only she knew... As they exited, Robert leapt off the table (cursing a bit from the pain of his side), and shoving his clothes back on. "I'm assuming that's a relative of yours?" Tuck asked casually. "Yeah, my cousin. And now she knows that I am Robin Hood, and although she wants to, she can't join the Merry Men, and Marian is going to kick my ass if I'm not there in time--"

"I understand, Robin. I was in a wonderful marriage for 20 years, I can see the wrath of an angry woman a mile away." He said half jokingly. Robert quickly shook hands with Father Tuck. "Thank you for everything, I'll put in a bit more of a donation this week for you--"

"that isn't necessary, my boy--"

"See you soon!"

And with that, Robin Hood tried to get to his bike as quickly as he could. As he half limped, half ran, he dialed Gwen's number. "Hey, I need you to stop all the traffic coming to my place! Marian's on her way and she's VERY pissed off at me!" Robin explained. "Why is she mad at you...? Are you hurt?" She asked. "I'll tell you all about it later, but I can't talk now! Thanks bye!" He hung up as he got to his bike, and in a couple of seconds, he took off down the street.

The streets were easy to go through. He didn't want to take the quick way home, because he knew that Marian would be taking that route, but with the amount of red lights she's going through, and the amount of fast shortcuts he could take with the bike, he wasn't too worried about that. He made it home in record time, though. He parked his bike in a lot close to the apartment, and made it to the door, openeing it and closing it with lightning speed. Of course both Gwen and John were there, and had faces of concerned as Robert held his side.

"Rob, what the hell--?"

"I'll tell you later!" He said as he ran in to his room to change in to something that Robert Locksley would wear. He agreed on a nice dark blue sweater, and jeans, and just when he was done, the knock on the door was heard. The wound was holding, but he had to change it soon due to the fast movements and running everywhere... Great. he made it to the door, opening it to see a very red faced Marian, and a shocked Cassie to see him here so quickly. "Cassie?! Where the heck were you?!" He demanded, trying not to move to much due to the pain. "We have been looking everywhere, we were almost gonna call the cops!!!" He exclaimed, and then turned to Marian. "How did you find her? Is she alright? Are you alright? She didn't give you too much trouble, did she?" Robert asked with convincing sincerity, although he knew the answers to all of them.

There was a second conversation that went on in the car and that was Cassie begging for Marian not to tell Robert. ‘Please, I won’t do it again! I promise!’, ‘I have to tell him.’, ‘Then you’d have to tell him about how you shoved me in the car to escape from the police while Robin Hood beat the hell out of them.’, silence had filled the car as Marian took in her point. If she didn’t tell Robert the whole story then she might as well not tell him the story at all. The debate of whether to tell Robert the whole story or not lingered in her mind until the hand turned and the door opened.

Her blue eyes shot up to Robert as she listen to him fire off a million questions. Looking over at Cassie as Robert finished talking, she turned her attention back to him. “I nearly hit her with my car. The streets of New York City are incredibly dangerous. So I shoved her back in the car and brought her back.” Cassie was right, if Marian told Robert about the fact that they both knew and met Robin Hood, she’d have to deal with the backlash of him, who is currently trying to hunt down Robin Hood, and possibly more of Guy trying to talk to her about it. Plus Cassie most likely doesn’t even know that Robert’s on the Robin Hood case… he’s one of the last people Marian wanted to know that she had any sort of connection with Robin Hood.

“Look Cassie,” Marian said turning to face her. Reaching into her purse she pulled out her business card and a pen. “Here’s my cell number, if you want to run around New York City and not be with your uncle, call me instead.” With she handed the seventeen year old her business card with her cell number on it and shoved her inside the house before turning her attention to Robert.

She opened her mouth to give him a piece of her mind before closing it tightly. If she grilled him for questions, he might grill her for questions about why she had been gone for so many hours and when Marian found her and blah blah blah. If she lied to Robert, he’d most likely know or at least figure it out… “She’s fine. I didn’t actually hit her; just got my breaks changed recently so that’s’ good.” Pulling out her cell phone she opened up her contacts page and hit new; after typing in his name she looked up at him. “If Cassie’s going to make a habit of being out and about with you, I think it would be a good idea that I have your contact phone number in case I almost run over her again. What’s your number?” Here's that 'never in a million years' scenario playing out already. Funny how life changes so much.

Robert moved out of the way for Cassie to rush in, giving a glare as the two made eye contact. Even though she was glad she wasn't hurt, she robbed a place, got Robert shot, and he knew that there will be a lot more attempts for her to try and "help" him. Marian was obviously pissed off at Robert, and he was mad that she was mad. How would he know that she would try and sneak away to steal a bunch of stuff?? Well, she was related to him... and he does that but on a whole other level. He didn't feel like getting yelled at for being a crappy guardian when he didn't really ask for this. Not only was he trying to keep a teenage girl at bay, he's also trying to keep his butt from going to prison, stealing from millionaires, and trying to be a lawyer again. He has a lot on his plate.

When asked for his number, Robert nodded and gave a sigh. "Sure." He gave her his number, and didn't really try to explain himself. She was his responsibility here, and he didn't want to make the excuse of being a guardian to a 17 year old girl who was a lot like yourself. He hated that Cassie was so much like him. "Thanks for bringing her back. She will be spending the rest of her visit in New York sightseeing the inside of her eyelids and her room wallpaper." Robert said.

The pain to his side was starting to get worse, John and Gwen were listening to the conversation from behind the wall, giving Robert many expressions as the conversation went on, and he was sure it was time to call it quits before he passed out from exhaustion. "I'll see you tomorrow at work." Robert said before closing the door, and turning to see John and Gwen about to ask a million questions.

And so he started to tell the tale of how he recruited Marian, saved Cassie, got shot, and revealed his secret identity. Both were shocked, confused, and angry at the turn of events.

"Look, Cassie knows now, but she's not to know anything else. I'll talk to her tomorrow, and I'll clarify everything with you guys tomorrow... But right now, I have to change my bandages, and sleep." And with that, Robert trudged in to his room, spending some time in his bathroom treating the wound he obtained, and then bandaging it up with his surpluss of medical equipment in his house... and then he fell on his bed, and he was out immediately. Tomorrow should be a very interesting day, and he was sure Guy had a lot to tell Robert once he finds out that Robin Hood was in a gunfight with a bunch of cops. Hopefully Cassie and Marian would be safe from the media.

“Alright I’ll see you tomorrow.” Marian said with a nod as she put her phone away and turned from the door. Well, it happened. She now had Robert Lockley’s number in her phone. Unlike any other time; she’d consider that a bad thing; but not this time. This time it wasn’t a big deal for her; he had proven to be less of a jerk and more of a, well general nice person. Hard to believe right? Even as she walked down the stairs, she couldn’t help but look over her shoulder and question exactly what was going on up stairs in that apartment.

Climbing into her car she started home, feeling all the more stressed about the situation. That was too close, she was at the scene and if anyone recognized her, her father would have a cow. But there were so many people with the same car as her in the big city and the guys looked like people she had never seen before; maybe there’d be too much celebration and staking out the hospital inspecting anyone who showed up with a bullet wound that they’d forgetting about the thief and the escape to really care. That would make life so much easier!

It felt great to be home but that didn’t stop her from tossing and turning at night in concern for Robin. Hopefully he was alright; hopefully he’d take it easy and heal on his own. Hopefully…
---

The next morning the blonde woke up and grabbed her phone, her attempt at sleeping was nearly non-existent and worry got the best of her. How’s the bite? She texted him, knowing full well she’d be talking about the bullet. Sure, even if he didn’t get back to her until the evening, at least he’d know she was concerned like a good person would be… a good friend… a good team mate… a good girlf… no! Stop! None of that! Marian threw her blankets off her bed and climbed off the fluffy bed.

That same morning, Cassie was at Robert’s door. “Uncle Rob! Uncle Rob I know you’re mad but please listen! Listen! You may know a lot but I know something you don’t know!” Bang bang bang. “First off, you’re going to be late for getting ready for work if you don’t get up now. And secondly!” Her voice dropped as a smirk moved across her face. “Marian likes you. In a non-creepy sort of way… just like you like her.” Oh yeah, she was pulling that card with him. There was no doubt that Marian found Robin Hood attractive but that would be a good ego boost for her uncle to hear.

Getting ready, Marian was back in her office at 9am like normal. Her phone sitting next to her computer on silent awaiting a text back to make sure he was okay. Hopefully… maybe, maybe he was still sleeping and recovering. Her lips wrapped around the silly lid of the coffee cup as she sat in a white blouse and black skirt staring at her screen. It’s a long shot but hopefully no one caught wind of her involvement last night; especially with how much the office was exploding about the news that Robin Hood got shot. God, I hope he's alright...

Robert gave a soft moan as he turned in his bed in the morning, listening to Cassie bang at his door. He also didn't like the intense pain that he had in his side, but he was sure it wasn't infected. He was still in his Robin Hood attire--well, his bottom half at least. He didn't move when she said that he was going to be late, but what did get his full attention was the second thing she said. Marian likes him? He leapt off his bed (ignoring the pain), and opened the door. "How do you know this stuff? How do you even know my schedule?" Robert asked her, Cassie simply shrugged. "Its pretty obvious, Robin. and you always leave the house at 8, which means that you have to work at 9 to get there in time." She concluded, eyebrows raised as if he was going to ask her to join the Merry Men that second. Robert closed his door, and made his way in to the bathroom.

After a while Robert eventually came out of his room in a nice fitting suit, a dark green shirt underneath and a black tie. His hair was neatly done, his eyes were baggy and sleepless, but that's what you get for not only being a vigilante, but a lawyer. He walked to the kitchen to find coffee already waiting for him, and Little John. "What the hell happened, Rob?" He asked. "I complication. Ask Cassie." Robert said as he chugged the coffee, searching the pantry for any sort of food. "How bad did they get you?" John asked. "Pretty good, but Tuck was able to get the bullet out of me." Robert replied. "I got some stitches, and its bandaged up. Hurts like hell, but I'll get through the day." He added, chowing down on a pop tart.

"Gwen gathered a few of the tech guys and made sure that no one found out about Cassie and Marian." John began. "Good, we don't need Marian getting investigated, and the police trying to take away Cassie... Tell them thanks for me... and thank you for not beating the crap outta me." Robert added, walking for his suit case. "You're lucky you've been shot or else I would."

"I'll try to settle things in the law firm. I bet Gibson's all giddy about the news." Robert said with a sigh. "I'll talk to you later when I get back." He said to Cassie. "That's right, little lady. You're under house arrest." John said, puffing out his chest. "Uncle Rob, I can help--"

"Goodbye!" Robert said before closing the door.

----

"No need to worry about me. I've never felt better." Was Robin's reply to Marian's text. When he saw that he got one, he smirked a bit. He didn't forget what Cassie said about her liking Robert--well, Robin Hood, but he was the same guy! He didn't want her to text him during the day just in case something happened, but he also didn't want to make her worry. So that was the best response in his eyes.

"Locksley!"

Robert sighed. He literally just limped in to the firm, and now he had to act like he wasn't shot. He stood up right, pretending to look up from something busy to see Guy walking towards him. "We got some blood samples from the shootout." Guy said. Robert wanted to say that Robin Hood never fired a shot, but he held it back. "yeah? That's great!" Robert said with a smile, walking to his office. "Once the results get in, we just need to arrest the guy." But he knew the results wouldn't come in. He knew the small amount of blood would be gone in some "freak accident". "If all else fails, we checked every hospital for a guy with a gun wound. We've narrowed down the searches, and sent the profiles to you to examine. At this time you know more about this guy than any of us." Gibson said. "Keep me updated though." And with that he was off, making a phone call. He was sure that he got yelled at for not catching the guy when surrounded by cops, but he didn't let it show. He was determined to find him. Poor, naive Guy.

He started limping again to release the pain as he was walking alone, but then put up the act again while passing Marian's office, giving a small smile and nod as he passed, then continuing to limp to his office. It was time to get to work.

The young blonde reached over and checked her phone to see that she had received her unnamed number that was from the one and only Robin Hood. A small smile curled the corners of her full lips as she closed her phone and went into her work. Typing away on her computer she translated her typing from the court case with Robert into a more understandable document then herself. Smiling as she did so she clicked away at her computer, her head bouncing to a beat of her own music as she focused on her work.

After a while, she found herself zoning out a bit before she turned her head, seeing the body of Robert Locksley moving past her door. She returned his small smile and nod with a set of her own before looking back at the computer. Her fingers paused on the keys as she thought more about Robert. Robert Locksley could be a real problem and if Robin Hood couldn’t see that he was a problem, maybe he knew something she didn’t know… or maybe he just wasn’t aware of how dangerous Robert could really be.

If Robin wasn’t going to take Robert as a threat maybe she shouldn’t worry. Then again… the blonde stood up from her chair, eyes fixated on the screen in front of her. Robin probably didn’t know much about the lawyer business and even if he knew the slightest bit, he’d be most likely to be worried about Robert. Taking a moment to breathe she walked over to the window and pulled it open, her office wasn’t the biggest but she was lucky to have a nice window even though it was a view of the streets with car speeding by on the heavy traffic streets. Though she couldn’t argue with the nice breeze that blew in through her window whenever she opened it; her hands wrapped gently round the open window ceil as she took on the fresh, well somewhat fresh, air of the outside. The wind moving her hair around her face she took a moment to relax and think…

Her moment was interrupted by a voice, “Marian.” She turned around at the window to see Guy Gibson standing in the doorway of her office holding some papers. “You look refreshed this morning.” He said with a bright tone to his voice as he entered the room after receiving the gesture to enter. “I have some exciting news.”

“Oh yes? What is it?”

“We have a blood sample from the shoot out last night with Robin Hood,” Marian bit her tongue so she wouldn’t respond back with the fact that Robin Hood never shot a gun but that was something that needed to be left unsaid, not to mention he didn’t seem to know that Marian was at the scene to begin with, thank you Robin! “And they finally sent over the documentation on the possible matches for the blood sample. I wanted to share it with you.” He said with a sense of innocent handing her the thick file.

“This is a lot of papers for just a blood sample.” Marian said as she attempted to pull out all of the documents with one hand.

“Well it’s police reports from the shootouts and documentations from the hospital with current bullet injury people that were admitted last night.”

“Oh wow.” She said in surprise as she finally got all the papers out. As one could see, her hands were rather small compared to how many papers she had attempted to pull out in one time. The struggle was intense as she finally got out all the papers, only to have a truck fly by the window and shoot in an intense breeze. “OH NO!” The blonde shouted in distress as the papers flew from her hands and took off out the window. Without missing a beat, the blonde jumped out the window and began frantically reaching for the papers as they flew through the air.

“Marian!” Guy shouted with a laugh before following her out the window. Marian through apologies left and right as she tried to grab papers that took off into the air but all Guy could do was reassure her that everything was fine and that they had other copies in Robert’s office; “It’s okay, really.” He said with a bright smile as the two wondered back inside looking through the retrieved papers to see they were mainly the police reports. “Don’t worry about it.” With that they entered inside and Guy left to make another phone call.

The other papers were in Locksley’s office… As she walked towards his office, she stopped at a mirror to check her hair, teeth, make up and made sure she looked professional and maybe… a bit flirty. He had to know something and maybe, he’d be willing to share. Or she could get her hands on the paper.

“Hey Robert,” Marian said leaning against the doorframe of his office, her arms crossed under her chest and her ankles crossed at her feet. Her long toned tan legs relaxed slightly as she held her balance on her heels before pulling herself off the wall and walking ever-so-slowly inside, her arms dropped gently to her side and her hands went to her hips. “How’s it going?’ She asked in a soft voice.

Of course his moments to himself were cut off a few minutes later when Guy walked in to his office. He was in the process of "looking" through the Robin Hood case, but also looking at other case offers he received since he's been back in the attorney gig. All the files that Guy had given him earlier were already sorted out, and Robert replaced important pieces of information with more boring and unspecific pieces of paper. He also took some pain meds to help ease the pain, and it was doing wonders... That was until Guy made his appearance, holding new files. "We got the documents and blood samples from everyone shot last night." Guy said proudly, handing him the papers. "What have you found on the guy so far?" He asked, Robert shrugged. "I know he premeditates his plans of attack to a tee. It also has to be more than one man doing all of this, and they aren't average joe robbers." Robert gave him information that they all should know by now but have yet to confirm. Robert took the files.

"Well he's not getting away with this. We've set Agents with the richest people in New York that he hasn't robbed yet." Guy said, and as he was talking Robert noticed that he held another file of the blood samples. Great. Robert nodded and tapped the files against his desk. "I'll get to work." Robert said. Guy nodded. "I'm giving this one to our boys in the the crime scene division." Guy said as he walked out of his office yet again. Robert casually glanced at the papers by flipping through them, and then placing them on the corner of his desk. Of course Robert wasn't in either the blood sample test, or the hospital records, but he didn't want these people in trouble because they think that they are Robin Hood.

He heard yelling coming from an office, and then saw an upset Guy walking by talking on a phone. What the hell happened? He leaned back in his chair, pulling out his phone and sending a text to John saying that they had new info, and that he'll bring it back. He wasn't expecting the "Hey Robert" come from his door, making him jump a bit as he looked up. And man, never in a million years would he expect this image.

Marian was standing and looking at him in a way that would make a lot of men speechless. But there was a red flag. She never came in to his office unless she absolutely had to. Cassie's words came in to his head talking about how Marian liked Robert, yet it occurred to him that she most likely liked his alter ego. "Just working on the Robin Hood case... Is there something wrong?" Robert asked, eyebrow raised.

Why didn't Robin consider Robert a threat? She'd hope Robin would have done a little more research into who he was up against. Robert wasn't exactly an easy person to deal with, in and out do the courtroom, though he's gotten better, she had to admit that. Maybe not out loud but she was willing to admit that inside. But he was too good at his job for him to be taken as lightly as she felt Robin was... Maybe that was her job. She was getting to now Guy and reporting back to Robin; maybe he expected her to do the same thing with Robert, he just didn't feel like it needed to be said.

Feeling that was a safe conclusion. She continued on her casual walk into the office. Most girls strive to have the coy grace that Marian naturally excelled at and she showed no wrong step as she closed the gap between her and Robert. Stopping at the edge of his desk, she placed her hand gently upon the glossy oak. "Something wrong?" She repeated in a light questioning tone. "No..." Pause, "Well yes, but no..." She found herself moving against the desk leaning her butt against it and rested her small hands on the wood.

"It's nothing big... Or major. Just--- kinda wondering." She was having difficulty looking at him for some reason. Was this a good idea? Well... How else was she going to find out more about him and what he's found out about Robin Hood so she can throw him off the trail. At the same time, Robin might get mad at her... But Robert shouldn't be overlooked. Plus... As much as she didn't want to admit it; she had a good time with him on their 'not date'.

"If you had time, in the near future for..." Her blue eyes flicked back to him as she crossed her ankles and gripped into the side of his desk for balance. "Another 'not date'?" With that she pulled herself from the desk rather quickly.

"So yeah..." She said quickly back way her way towards the door. "Just---think about it. No rush and if... You don't want to--- that's okay too. Just--- a thought." By the time she finished stumbling over her words she was at the door frame. "Okay, bye!" With that she took off down the hallway to hide in her office with her door shut.

Really? This girl could shoot better than most people on the force, her hand to hand combat skills were wonderful, she's smarter than people give her credit for and normally a smooth talker with an unmatched charm that could make men crawl at their feet. And here she was, stumbling over her words like a fool to... To Robert Locksley!! What the hell?! Was she actually---nervous and unable to be flirtatious? What happened there!

The blonde sat at her desk leaning back in defeat in her chair. Her nervousness probably got the best of her and he'd not agree to anything with her. Her free hand tapped on the wood of her desk between he phone and her mouse while her other rested on the arm of her chair. Well that wasn't how she expected it to turn out... Good job you idiot!

Robert had a lot on his plate. He had Cassie to watch over, he had a criminal organization he was running, he had to lead the police off the Merry Men's trail, he had to stare the man in charge of the Robin Hood case in the eyes every single day and produce a fake smile, and now he had to worry about Marian... In more ways than one. Marian walked to his desk, her body pressing against his desk, and her hands playing with the texture of the desk. Robert's eyebrows were raised, Robert watched her try to find her words. He was fairy concerned. Was she alright? Did she get with something? Did she forget her coffee? But at the same, time, Robert was kinda enjoying this. It wasn't often Marian Anderson fumbled over her words, especially with Robert. Their conversations usually ended with Robert saying something and Marian replying with a much more polite way to say "Jump out the window."

So now, as she was leaning against his desk to show off every single perfection in her body, avoiding eye contact, and fumbling for words, Robert came to the conclusion that she was being nervous because she was starting to actually warm up to the new Robert. Before he could even reply she showed herself out, leaving Robert to lean back and smile... Until feeling the pain of his wound. So for the rest of the day he couldn't stop smiling. He was invited to another "not date", he pulled another fast one on Guy Gibson, and his reputation was slowly coming back to him.

Robert debated a lot of things though. Having this not date with Marian could be dangerous. But then again, it was even more dangerous for her to be helping Robin Hood as a part of the Merry Men... But like always, his love for that woman was way more intense than anything. He would never admit it to her, but he was truly in love with Marian. Her passion to help others, the way she stood her ground, her intelligence, her beautiful blonde hair, piercing blue eyes, a body carved by angels... But the thing that he probably liked about her most of all was that she was herself. She had nothing to hide, she wasn't a vigilante, the son of a corrupt lawyer that always had to put on another face to hide his facade. She was pure, and there will never be a time where the beast doesn't fall for the beauty.

He would probably never have the chance to say any of this to her. What with him potentially going to prison for life if he was caught, or just the fact that he had a long list of lies and if she found out it wouldn't be great... But Robert was going to take a chance.

Robert left his office to go home, and saw that Marian was still in her's. He made a gentle tap on the door and opened it slowly. "Hey, I was just seeing if you were serious about 'not' going on a date with me. And if that's the case, I have two tickets to the baseball game on Saturday. It'd be a perfect opportunity to not go on a date with you. I definitely wouldn't be picking you up at around 5 that night so we could watch the game and get some late night dinner afterwards. If that does or doesn't interest you, just let me know tomorrow. Have a nice night." And he gently closed the door, and walked towards the exit of the building. He had a much better time talking to Marian, but he's had years of practice to talk to someone he's had feelings for.

Marian couldn’t take herself out of her office the whole day because she was so embarrassed. Though Guy found no reason not to enter her office; he’d come by to say hi, he’d chit chat with her for a bit and he’d even bring her some coffee. She nursed on that all day in desperation to move through the day and hope her embarrassment would be over. She didn’t even stick around long enough to see what his reaction was to her statements and she was half regretting doing so. Simply because she wanted to see what he would say and now she was chickening out.

It was on more than one occasion that the blonde put her head against her desk debating on what exactly she had asked Robert and if it was a good idea or not. There was a third time that the blonde pulled her head from her desk and stared at her computer screen, her hands tucked under her thighs as she stared blankly at her work that needed to be done. Well so much for completely anything today, she felt like she made a complete fool out of herself and now she couldn’t focus.

Her head jerked up hearing the knock on her door and she pulled her hands from under her before placing them on the arms of her chair. Turning, she found Robert Locksley poking his head in. It was a nice change from Guy continuously popping in and out of her office. As he spoke to her, her full lips curled into a small closed lip smile but all she could do is nod in a response to his ‘have a good night’ comment.

The next day went smoothly, she felt less embarrassed. Actually she felt excited, happy and she was going to give him information that he might be waiting for. The blonde waited until a half an hour before the office closed to walk by Robert’s office. She stopped, why was she so nervous, she shouldn’t be. Taking a deep breathe she rose a small hand up, the one not holding the papers and knocked. Slowly but surely she opened the door and poked her head inside. “Hey.” She said, grabbing Robert’s attention, surprised to her Guy was in the room with him. She gave Guy a small nod of acknowledgement before turning her blue gaze to the man she came to see. Sticking her free hand in through the crack of the door she pointed at Robert. “Don’t be late.” She said with a nod before leaving and shutting the door.

-----

Saturday arrived and the blonde spent most of her morning and afternoon getting ready. Holding up different outfits to her body, feeling rather silly doing so but still throwing things behind her. Why was she stressed? It was just Robert. It’s not like she actually liked him or something… she just, had to know what he knew about Robin Hood; and throw him off the trail… which means that, going out on a date, no a not-date’ with him right? That’s… logical. At least that was the blonde’s excuse as she tossed the fifth outfit aside.

She didn’t want to admit it to anyone else including herself but she was really enjoying her time with Robert Locksley, He seemed like he had changed and that was really all she could ask from him. He was such… well such a jerk. And now he seemed nice, respectable, playful and fun. He came across as somewhat of a sarcastic-smart-ass but not a jerk and she was enjoying it. Between their run in at the bar to working together again, it was nice to see this new side of him and maybe he wasn’t as bad as he used to be. Maybe that’s why Marian could be around him, maybe that’s why Marian waned to… go out on a date with him.

Finally settling she let out a long sigh. A pair of white short shorts and a female fitted dark blue jersey labeled for the New York Yankees and a baseball cap over her head. Her feet were a pair of simple sandals and her clock clicked to 4:55pm. She lived in a small house just outside of the hustle and bustle of the city but Robert knew that already. Now, as she attempted not to stare out the window, the blonde waited.

Although Robert had a lot on his plate, he obviously thought of Marian. When he got home he knocked on Cassie's door. "Hey." Robert said as he walked in. She was on her laptop, her face glared at him for a second before going back to the screen. "Silent treatment eh? I'll play along." Robert gave a fake glare and crossed his arms, occasionally glancing at her then at the ground. He made "hmph!" noises when their dark green eyes made contact until Cassie couldn't take it any longer. "You're such a dork." Cassie said with a very small hint of a smile as she looked back at her laptop.

"Hey, silent treatment's over." Robert replied quietly. Before he could say anything, Cassie spoke up. "Do you know what they say about you?" Cassie asked, looking at her Uncle. Robert tilted his head a bit, his eyebrows scrunched together. "What?" "Do you know what our family says about you every family reunion, or get together, Christmas?" She asked with a bit of anger in her voice. "Granpa always says that he hopes you learned your lesson. People call you the disgrace of the family. They joke about how you were probably sleeping in a gutter in New York defending people in court for free." She said bitterly. Looking up at him again. "I would get into fights with our relatives. I knew you weren't a disgrace... You were my role model for the longest time. You rarely showed it, but you're smart, and brave, and you cared about people more than money."

"Before I came here I thought I'd find you as a bum living off some dude's couch scraping by for money. Now I'm sitting in a guest room in a nice apartment, where you're not only a lawyer, but now a infamous criminal doing more for this city than anyone... Why didn't you ever visit? Why didn't you come to a family reunion and prove to everyone that you weren't a disgrace? That you know what they've been saying and they are dead wrong? Why dress up and rob from people every night?"

Robert wasn't expecting this kind of lecture from Cassie. Ever since they were kids they were close, and although the thoughts came to him when he first was broke, he never thought about what his family thought of him. "Because... Robert Locksley had nothing to prove." He finally said, giving her a small smile, patting her leg.

"When I was beaten, when I went bankrupt, and got fired, I looked back at what I did, and I didn't feel regret a single action I did... Well, a few things I regretted with a beautiful blonde but that's not the point. If our family couldn't respect the sacrifice I made, then to hell with them... But I'm very glad you still had faith in me. I wondered if anyone still thought about me back home."

"My dad still likes you too, you know. And Gray and Vic." Cassie said with a smile. Gray and Vic were cousins of theirs. "And I bet Grandma would have missed you the most..." Cassie said looking back down. "You think so? I bet she would have killed me herself if she found out I got shot." Robert laughed, then loosening his tie.

"Look, Cass. When I started this whole Robin Hood thing, I didn't think I'd be doing it for long. I did it to get back at a group of very bad people at first, and when I saw how much it impacted the place, I had a fantasy of helping. This isn't the only way to help out, especially for most of us. This is such a dangerous thing to do, everyone who joins knows the price they'll pay if we are caught. We don't do this for ourselves or the thrill of breaking the law... We are people who have no other options and are very very very good at stealing from people who don't deserve it. You've got a whole life ahead of you, Kid. Recent events have made it very difficult for us. We could go down at any minute, and I really don't want anything bad to happen to you. If you still want to stay with your Uncle Robin for a little while, I'd love to have you, but no Robin Hood business for you, and you gotta update your parents on how you are." With firmness in his voice, Robert nodded, and although Cassie wasn't really happy with the news, she made a nod.

"Oh, and guess who's going on a not-date with Marian this saturday?" Robert said with a stupid grin on his face, Cassie's eyes went wide. "You asked her out?" She asked. "Well, no... She asked if she wanted to not do something sometime, and I invited her to not go with me to the Yankee game.... And she hasn't replied yet but you know. I always have you to take if it doesn't go well." Robert said with a shrug. Cassie looked very confused. "So... you're not going with her?" Robert nodded with another smile, and that made her even more confused. "I'll order some pizza for dinner then we'll watch that one Ninja Warrior show thing John keeps telling me about, sound good?" The green eyed man asked as he stood up and walked for the door. "Sure." Cassie said, putting her laptop away. Robin smiled and left the room. He fixed his relationship with Cassie, now he just had to figure out the next big heist for the Merry Men, get rid of these hospital records, and not freak out too much about how Marian was going to respond to their Not Date.

---

The next day was nerve racking. Not only did constantly try and look around for Marian, but Guy decided to work the case in his office today. They couldn't find the hospital records. Robert gave the story of how he accidentally dropped the papers last night and the janitor must have threw them away. He wasn't happy, and the more he lost leads the more he became more cautious and smart. He did a background check on the janitor to make sure, and even gave a skeptical look to Robert, so most of the day was them going over and over what they know and don't about this Robin Hood. They had a whiteboard, police reports, sketches, and Robin would very stealthily take a part of evidence, or make up a convincing story to change a feature on the sketch or last known location. It was exhausting, especially with a bullet wound in your torso.

"Hey." Guy said in the middle of their cases. "You know Marian Anderson, right?" He asked, leaning back in his chair. Robert shrugged and nodded. "I've worked with her in the past, yeah." He said casually, taking a sip of his cold coffee.

"I think she likes me." He said with a nod. Robert almost spit his coffee all over him... But didn't. "Is that so?" He asked, a bit of poison in his words. Guy nodded. "Yeah, she's been asking a lot about the case, always getting in close, laughing at my jokes... I don't tell her much obviously, but I enjoy her company." He said with a grin. Robert tried very hard to force one.

"Well she is very passionate about this kind of stuff... Just be careful man, her brain is just as beautiful as her face." Robert said with a grin, getting back to work.

Their shift should have been over soon, but he had a feeling he was going to be stuck here for a while. His sleeves were rolled up, his hair messy, coffee cups on the table as the two paced and talked about the whole "firefight" that went on two days ago, when a knock on the door was heard, and Marian's head popped in. Robert stopped and looked at her, and his heart nearly exploded as she pointed to him and demanded him that he won't be late. Robert gave a nod and salute to her as she disappeared, and although Robert was very happy, he only told Guy that it wasn't a date or anything, and Robert enjoyed the look of relief on his face, and the reality of what was going on.

---

Robert Locksley pulled up in a gray BMW, for today's occassion he wore a blue Yankee's jersey, some worn jeans, Nike sneakers, and a baseball cap (mostly used to try and catch a homerun later!). A perk about running around being a thief in the night: he was in very good shape. Robert walked up to the front door of her house, and knocked loudly, putting his hands in his pockets as he waited for a response. He looked at the view of Manhattan from her house. Such a beautiful city, and yet it was going through some hard times. He heard the door open to see yet again the angel that was Marian. His brain rebooted for a second before giving a grin.

"Hey, not here to pick you up right at 5 o'clock. Just like I promised." The man said with a grin. "You look... stunning." Saying that was an understatement. To avoid the awkward moment he put himself in, he motioned over to the car. "My friend let me borrow his ride for the day, he's the only man I know that owns a car in this city. Hope you're ready for this not date, I have a feeling it'll be better than the first."

As Marian waited she checked her hair, straight as an arrow even with the Yankees baseball cap on her head and her makeup, simple but sparkly. Why was she taking so much time to take care of herself when she wasn't even sure what this was; well it was a "not date" right? Which is just two people who are learning to tolerate each other are going out on some form of event. In this case it was a Yankee's game.

Her phone echoed in her house and she dashed to it, pulling it up from the table with anticipation that Robert might be canceling on her. Her heart was still due to the thought of him canceling on her... Was that... That a bad thing? The text was from Guy Gibson asking what she was doing in the evening. She responded with she had plans and left it at that as she shoved her phone into the pocket of her jean short shorts. Now he was suddenly giving her attention. She mentally rolled her eyes at the though. He was a nice guy; cuter and older than her and charming and handsome, and intelligent but... Well, Robert...

Her mind was cut off in thought as the knock came on the door. She went to the door but stood at it, staring at the oak for a moment as if contemplating whether she was going to open the door or not. Her hand reached out before she jerked it back; was this a good idea... Of course it was! And as much as she didn't want to admit it, it was good for more than just the reason of figuring out what's he knows about Robin Hood; but she'd have to be stealthy, Locksley was smart.

There was an extensive moment of silence between the two, simply because she didn’t expect him to look as good as he did outside of a suit. She swallowed slightly and felt her face turn red at his comment about how she looked and she broke her gaze from him. Staring at the floor she waited for him to say something else and when he did she looked back up at him with her intense blue eyes. Her lips curled into a smile before he looked towards his ride then to him. “Shame.” She said playfully at him, “I was expecting the heel-toe express or a tandem bike and here you come in a car, a BMW no less. Tisk-tisk.” She shook her head at him before giving him a cheeky grin.

She followed him to the car after locking her door and was surprised to see him holding her door open for her. “Oh well, thank you.” She said in a sincere tone before climbing into the car and settling into the seat buckling herself up. When he got in she turned her attention to him with a grin, “Did you just happen to get lucky or did you know I was a fan of the Yankees? On a ‘not date’ knowing I’m a fan would say you did your research and actually paid attention, which would be weird you know…” She said playfully as she propped her elbow up on the window, small talk never hurt right?

Robert couldn't help but smile at her comment on walking, giving a shrug. "Be careful what you wish for, we can always ditch the ride and ask your neighbors if we could borrow their kid's bike." Robert said jokingly. He didn't know how well this night will turn out, to be honest. It could end in a lot of bad ways, but there were the good ones, and so far it wasn't turning out so bad. She turned around to lock her door, and Robert couldn't help but look at her. Could you really blame him? He backed away slowly, and made his way towards the car where he opened the passenger side door for her to climb in to. Upon receiving a thank you, he nodded, with a smile stuck on his face. "Of course." He replied, closing it before climbing in to the driver's side of the car.

Her next comment made him laugh and shake his head as he started to pull out and turn onto the road. "Funny story actually. While rummaging through your garbage the other night I heard you talking in your living room about how much you love the Yankees to one of your friends. So I bought some tickets from 'Rip-Off Rick' and here we are." Robert said, obviously joking.

"There was a client I had that worked at Yankee Stadium, and he gave me a couple tickets for this game as a thank you... And I remember a few years ago, there was that huge court case involving the pitcher for the Yankees, and I remember you freaking out about it, and being a huge fan girl and trying to record the case so you'd get the chance to meet the guy." That happened years ago, not many people would remember that, but Robert did. "That and you have a game day calendar, Yankee coffee mug you keep your pens in, and depending on whether or not they win, you come in to work the next day happy or extremely pissed. A lot of people took the hint and kept away from you when they lost, but I guess I never figured it out." Robert said with a small smile. It was Old Robert's job to mess with Marian, an elementary school way of showing feelings for someone. It never ended well for him.

"Today will be a good day, though. The Yanks are on a streak recently, and everyone's voting for them to win. It'll brighten the mood on our post game dinner that I'm not taking you to." Locksley's green eyes shined brightly as they drove, his tone casual and "matter-of-fact". It truly was going to be a good day.

The smile on his face was surprising. It wasn't the cocky arrogant smile that would typically appear in his face when he would approach her. That 'I'm better than you and I know it' smile seemed to be replace with a playful and happy smile she wouldn't have guessed to see on Robert Locksley's face.

"Well, now I'm making it way too obviously that I have an emotionally attachment to the Yankees. It might not be the best idea to take me to a game. I could get rowdy and loud; maybe even obnoxious." Her head rolled to look over at him with a large smile on her face. "I should also warn you I have no intention on acting like a 'lady' today." Her arms rose up as she did quoted with her finger when she said lady. "This is a not-date which means I'm not out to impress you so it's a few beers, a couple hot dogs and a large amount of fries." She gave a heart filled laugh as she looked forward and stuck her hand out the window to feel the breeze. "Oh and I want a giant foam finger, I've never gotten one before!"

"Don't worry though." She said as they pulled into the stadium. "I'll save room for dinner." Poor Marian was like a kid pulling up to Toys-R-Us she was filled with so much excitement. Had she not buckled up and she'd probably climb out the window before he parked. "To be honest, this is my first time at the stadium." She said with a hint of awe in her voice; well, this was a hell of a 'not date'.

As soon as Robert turned the car off the blonde was out the door and standing in the parking lot staring up at the stadium with big blue eyes. Upon the door shutting and the car beeping locked she turned to see Robert approach her, without much warning she grabbing his hand and turned, "Come on!" Her voiced was filled with giggles and excitement as she rushed towards the entrance feeling her adrenaline pump from--- from the game right? Or was it from holding onto Robert's hand and yanking him along as they weaved through cars. Upon their arrival at the booth she dropped his hand and slid hers into the pockets of her shorts lightly bouncing up and down; she was excited can you tell?
