Hello, and welcome to the world of Earth! This is the same Earth you have come to know and love, yes the very same one. There are a few differences that you might not remember... such as the year. It is the year 2068. Here, new technologies have appeared all throughout the world. One of the most interesting, and the most successful, was The Fourth Dimension. In Japan, there was a technology center who was enthralled by the thought of seeing the Fourth Dimension. They then thought there could be more, such as seeing it, smelling it even. With technology rapidly improving, they figured it would only take them a few years to invent a simulation of their dreams. They finished sooner than they expected, and with a much more different technology than they had planned. It was no longer a simulator, but rather, a procedure. People are now capable of having procedures done to allow them to interact with the Fourth Dimension. Not everyone can interact with all aspects of the Fourth Dimension, each person can only interact with one. Sight. Sound. Smell. Taste. The technology helped with everyday life so well, absolutely everyone in the world had it done. Even poor people! No one decided what they got, but no one cared either. What they got they used, and it worked better than all of their other senses combined! But, an unseen horror has risen. No one suspected this day would come, but it has. Due to literally everyone in the world messing with the Fourth Dimension, monsters have appeared where the technology was invented, in Tyoko Japan. These monsters are literal Fourth Dimensional Beings. If you can't see the Fourth Dimension, you can't see them. And almost no one can see them. Those who can seem to be their first targets. Then those who can hear them. Then smell. The monster have appeared more and more, and not one has been killed. Japan has tried sending in soldiers to do the work, but not even tanks could stop them. The only hope for the world are a band of new heros! New heros that can not only see, but also hear, and smell, and feel them! These heros appear to be everyday people, but years after their procedures they start to interact with the fourth dimension in more ways than one. Their combined abilities allow them to do things no one else can. Including fight back. It is up to these new found saviors to stop these monsters! Will you help them, or let humanity fall?

1. No Powergaming. This means don't control other characters without permission, or complete understanding. 2. No Metagamin. If your character doesn't know it's happening, pretend it doesn't exist! 3. No Godmodding! I can't stress this enough here. Our characters are STRONG, but not gods. Remember, even the army has had problems with these things! 4. Be nice! 5. You MUST pick your first ability. You can, however, choose to start the RP with all of your abilities. This has been 'ruled out' get it? Haha! Yeah. Okay. You may pick UP TO TWO abilities! Remember, everyone may only have one ability... but they've learned this second ability later in life, as they are special. 6. Mention the Fourth Dimensional Toe Cheese to be accepted! This is to prove you've read the rules. 7. What moderators say, goes! 8. Rules are meant to be written, more may be added without notice! You will be notified.

Fourth Dimensional Powers

Sight Sight is the rarest ability of all. Very few have it. Those who can see in the Fourth Dimension are capable of seeing many things. They can see through walls, though it may be hard to distinguish what they are seeing. They can see new colors that other's cant. Sound Those who can hear have a powerful gift. They can hear sounds better than most, and are capable of reading weak minds. They are capable of hearing sounds others cant. Energy Fourth Dimensional energy is another rare gift. It is not quiet hot and cold, or physical and ethereal touch. There is another form of energy not comprehensible. Most call it Magic, but that is too simple a term. Smell Smelling is very common to those not blessed with the ability of all Fourth Dimensional powers. Smell can be used to locate any type of object, or person. Even if you haven't smelled it before, you will instinctively know where it is. They are capable of smelling smells others cant. Taste Taste is the most common and useless ability there is. It is possible for those with taste to know what effects something will have, and be immune to most poisons. Those who can taste the fourth dimension are capable of tasting new flavors others cant.

Quick question. What age must a character be in order to get these extra-dimensional senses? Or, just give me an age range on what's acceptable to RP. That'll probably be enough information I need to get this app done tonight.

There is no age limit. I forgot to mention this, but children born after adults with these alterations may have these abilities. I plan on having a few kid characters, and a few young adult characters myself. Though any age is acceptable. Most of my characters will be around 23 though.

Kurano

Kurano is 5'6" tall, and generally wears the vest, tie, and white button-up shirt with black pants get-up. His eye color is brown, and hair generally disheveled. He normally wears grey tied shoes, and wears a watch with constant reminders on study, food, and class times routinely sounding off. His eyes normally have dark shadows under them from the constant nights he spends staying up to study. Fourth Dimensional Power: Sound. Not unlocked all of his powers. Bio: Kurano is a college law student, attending Waseda University, a very prestigious and highly respectable University within the Shinjuku Tokyo region. Kurano was gifted the dimensional power of sound inherited from his mother. His parents weren't the wealthiest, leading him to live a more modest lifestyle growing up. His conflicts with the snobs at Waseda tend to happen often. He's fairly hard-working and serious, shown through his intensive studies into graduating as quickly as possible and becoming a lawyer. Though, growing up in a humble family has given him a chance to realize just how gifted he truly is. Being a student at Waseda caused him and his family to be a target of the local mob, and he's usually pestered often from his usual route between his classes and his apartment. Kurano genuinely tries his hardest to be nice to others, though normally ends up being rude in some way. He uses his power with as much responsibility as possible, trying to hone it so that he could hear an approaching danger much easier. Most of Kurano's life was spent in the shadow of his uncle, a successful businessman who would stop at nothing to make sure Kurano was set in life, him not ever having a child and likely will never have the possibility either. Kurano was trained in various important aspects of what's needed to "make it" in life. Coercion, looks, and most importantly, how to make money. He very normally conflicted with his uncle, only wanting to inherit the family business. He only recently took up smoking, as a way to escape the constant stress of the world and classes. He had heard recently that those with the power of taste could easily develop fourth dimensional toe cheese.

These are two character's I've used quiet a bit, so they are both fleshed out. Naoto's two sisters are also commonly used, and I might make applications for them later if I plan on using them within the RP. This is a new dynamic I'm working with though, having Naoto be Kassy's enemy, as usually she is his grandparent from an alternate future reality. lol. Here's my first application. It's a character I've used a few times, and I've decided to go with an adult version of her.

Kassy

She is the woman on the left.

Kassy is 5'0", and is very underweight. She wears a two-part blue dress, an underpart that is a very dark blue, while the over-part is a much lighter color. She wears a necklace with a small helpless dragon on it around her neck. Her hair color is naturally blond, and her eye color is naturally blue. Due to her Fourth Dimensional control over Energy, her eyes turn Purple when she is in control of her powers. Fourth Dimensional Power: Energy. Has not unlocked all of her powers. Bio: Kassy is a homeless girl, and without parents. He parents died after she was born, due to an energy surge within her mother. The doctors in the room were badly injured, but the mother and husband were killed by the outburst of power. Luckily for Kassy, her mother was capable of controlling her powers enough to save her from the destruction. Kassy grew up without parents, moving from foster home to foster home throughout Tyoko Japan. Sadly, girls were almost never picked in Japan, except for people visiting from other countries. The day Kassy was chosen by a nice couple from America, she had an energy outburst. Her magical powers were strong enough to hurt her new mother and father, who disowned her after the attack. On top of the injury, Kassy was injured as well, so badly as to send her into a coma for many years. She has been in her coma since then, and has protected herself from being disconnected with her magic. Anyone who attempted was hurt by her magic, allowing her to live long enough until one day she could wake back up in the hospital. After Kassy left the hospital, she was a full-grown adult. She had no idea what to do with herself, since she couldn't go back to the orphanage. She didn't know how to get a job, or where to live. She's wandered the streets, taking what she absolutely needs, but never tryingto hurt people. It hasn't worked well for her, as she is now wanted by the police. She isn't very keen on the idea of going to jail, and has even defended herself from them once, avoiding the cops and injuring several.

Here is my second application, it is a relative of Kassy I have used before, but this time he will be a cousin instead of a grandchild.

Naoto

Username: Teknonick | Character Name: Naoto Tsuyo-sa Taiyō | Character Age: 23 | Character Gender: Male Appearance: Naoto is 5'8", and weighs a healthy weight. He has strong features, though not pretty by most Japanese standards. He usually wears a black t-shirt, with a thick heavy opened dark grey jacket over top. He usually wears baggy jeans and a belt. His shoes are designed for running in for long distances, and are a very dark color. His hair color is black, and his eyes are a dark hazel. He has a big black dragon necklace around his neck. Fourth Dimensional Power: Sight. Has not unlocked all of his powers. Bio: Naoto is a police officer in Tyoko Japan. He's gone from odd-job, to odd-job, most of his life. But he eventually found himself liking the law and helping keep order. His two twin sisters are both proud of him, and always tease him about how they never thought he would get the job. His older twin sister works as a politician, while his younger works at a local zoo. The three of them live together in a big apartment they have all worked together to afford. The three of them are all very close to each other, and Naoto sees it as his job to protect his two sisters at all cost. Naoto is usually a good cop, doing his duty, following his orders, and not arguing with his superiors. He is well known for his use over his ability, using it to it's full potential to help solve crimes. He has been waiting for a promotion for weeks now, and was recently sent on the case of a homeless girl who had defended herself against arrest. He has no idea who she is, but he does have a wanted poster of her. Little does he know he's hunting his own cousin, who is willing to attack him, even if he isn't willing to attack her.

Once we get a few more people to join the roleplay, we can get things started! I plan on all of us starting out at a convention, where something goes wrong. At that point, our characters will be introduced to the main plot, introducing them to a plan on stopping the monsters by bringing them into a group with missions designed to stop the monsters. I hope most RPers will attend it, or be arriving pretty soon after the start of the role play, as pretty soon after we start I'll get right into starting the action!

Oh shoot, I forgot to check the average list. xD I'm used to the RPs where everyone is 10 feet. Edited both. Kassy is now 5'0", 2 inches less than average, and Naoto is 5'8", 2 inches more than average.

Username: Unraveller | Character Name: Kristof Brandt | Character Age: 37 Years Old | Character Gender: Male Appearance: Kristof is quite a muscular man of German descent, he stands at a sizable 6'1" and appears as a quite imposing man due to such however, the large man's face always has a kind gesture a heart smile and a warm and welcoming demeanor, a dark brown beard that is kept rather short is the only bit of hair to be found upon his head. It is easy to tell that the man had never worked an easy day in his life, for his body seems sculpted magnificently. Fourth Dimensional Powers: Smell and Taste. Perhaps useless separate, however, when combined one can enjoy grandiose meals such as Fourth Dimensional Toe Cheese Bio: Kristof Brandt, a man of raw physical might and staunch personality. For as long as he could remember Kristof has been a laborer, working one menial job to the next essentially picking things up and putting them somewhere else. In time he became quite good at such physical labor. For years Kristof lived like a dog under a strict regime from his perfectionist family who constantly doubted the man for his lifestyle. Sure, he was unlike them and all of their college degrees, but he had found a different kind of perfection, not of mind, but of body, of soul. Eventually Kristof came to meet a woman, one who enthralled him so as to spirit him away from the droll life once lived. The woman, a ringleader for a famous circus that traveled the world far and wide, offered Kristof the position of a strongman. Without a single ounce of doubt, he accepted, and was welcomed with open arms. After years of some of the most rewarding work and travel that Kristof had ever had the pleasure of committing to the pair married, a ringleader and a strongman. Unfortunately what seemed like a most beautiful future quickly became horrid. As shortly after Kristof's wife fell gravely ill never to recover. A lingering depression came over the man, he felt broken, hollow, empty. A final show was booked for Tokyo Japan, Kristof had known of numerous new technologies sprouting up, in fact, during the circus's last visit to Japan his wife somehow convinced him to go through with a procedure. Gaining the ability of smell and taste allowed him to enjoy countless meals as if even dog food were a fine cuisine, of course, those were more peaceful times. Quickly brushing up on his linguistical skills the strongman headed out with the circus for a final act in memorial to his wife. Kristof eventually came to realize that his wife would not want him to endlessly mourn her death, but rather celebrate her life, a resurgence of emotion and memories came to him as he preformed his final act in front of a grand audience. Kristof is a man among men, who often lets his demeanor and muscular fortitude do the talking for him, he has the capabilities for fine arts and strives to help everyone around him reach a certain perfection in at least one trait. A softhearted and kind soul he does not hesitate to place himself in danger's way if it means the protection of someone close to him. There we go! I hope every thing seems in order, if you need anything changed or have questions please do not hesitate!

Awesome app man, I find that character very funny! His height might be a slight issue, mainly for other characters... but it's alright. German average height is around 5'10" or so, so you're only three inches above, which isn't bad at all. So! Forget I had an issue with height. It's alright! You've written out your character pretty well (You forgot to remove the <>, but that wasn't obvious that you had to remove it), and I don't see any flaws. The style of character is funky and different, but that shouldn't be too much of an issue. It will be good to have a strong character (Like Naoto) in the group, since they'll be able to pound the monsters like dust. You're accepted! Thank you for joining, I can't wait to get started!

Thanks a ton! I was aiming for a bit above average, a strongman circus performer seems to be an archetype that would require a large and bulky man. <>s have been removed. Is there anything else that we should know? As a foreword I am new to forum based role-playing, so if I screw up or anything along such lines please help me out, I am certainly not new to the actual idea of role-playing so do not worry too much in that regard. I'm excited, so once again, thank you.

Oh, hey, nice. Awesome character, I can't wait to see the interactions. Giant muscly Russian man amongst a crowd of teeny Japanese skinny people. Forum based isn't much too different, though interactions with other people does tend to differ between most other types of roleplaying. Also, there tends to be a lot less pressure to post in forum role-playing, unless of course you're the GM and need to get the plot moving. Btw, Tek, how many more people would you say we need before getting an IC up?

Keima would be classified as a young adult, and Nu is close to being a young adult, but I get what you mean. What I mean is a character younger than 13. Someone with very little to no judgement, barely knowing what's right and wrong, and really just having to cope with taking on serious responsibilities and growing up mentally in that process. I caught myself on the verge of a pointless tangent there. Not going into that territory though. I just noticed something. Is the way you're spelling Tokyo intentional? With Tyoko. Or is this just a fantasy version of Tokyo, that's not actually Tokyo but may as well should be?
