"I'm sorry, babe."

She apologized, putting her hand on his and looking at him,

"Just thinking about my mom."

"Come on, let's get your mind off of it. Get that car fired up."

He says as he stands there.

Nodding quietly, Ele stood up and hugged Tyler before going to the bedroom. Leaving her phone behind, something inside of Ele told her that if she looked, she would find messages from her mother.

He grabs his coat and slips his shoes on, walking out to the garage to prepare the car to fire while waiting for Ele to come out. He checks the ignition, the connection on the turbo and the battery terminals. He sits down in the car and adjusts the seat.

Jogging out of the house, Ele had changed into her shorts again, but had taken one of Tyler's shirts and tied it behind her back to emphasize her small waist and her hair was in a ponytail.

Getting in the car next to Tyler, Ele smiled at him,

"I should really consider keeping a duffel bag here or something."

[Tyler Night]

"I have no problem with that."

He puts the key in the ignition.

"Should fire right up."

He turns the key, firing the car up. He gives it some gas then quickly lets off letting the blowoff valve open up with a hiss.

The Miata rumbled underneath Ele and she grinned happily at Tyler,

"It works!"

She cheered, clapping her hands and bouncing in her seat. Acting happier than she felt was helping, she was feeling better.

He smiles and revs it again this time holding the throttle down. As the turbo spools up the exhaust starts popping and banging, sending fire out from the hole left in the hood. He keeps it up for a few seconds and lets off. Looking over at Ele he smirks.

"Think that this car will be fun?"

"This is going to be amazing!"

Ele laughed, her eyes wide and sparkling with excitement. Reaching over she put her hand on Tyler's thigh,

"I think I'm really starting to understand why you do this. It's really rewarding!"

[Tyler Night]

He puts his hand on hers and chuckles.

"It is so much fun, you can tune these things to run how you want. I am thinking somewhere down the road I will do a twin charge system, turbo and supercharger together."

He lets the car idle a minute before shutting it off.

"Alright, I think that is good for now."

"Are we going to paint it soon?"

She couldn't help but ask. It was her favorite part of all of this, and it took all of her concentration so her worries seemed far away when she worked,

"I've been practicing with the airbrush, but if you want someone with more experience to do it that's fine."

[Tyler Night]

"We can start today. I need to order some of the pearl paints but can get started on the sanding. That will be an all day process."

He grabs a block sander and shows it to her.

"I won't be around for most the day but I will be back by 3 today. They are waxing the floors at my shop and that is a 6 hour job."

He walks over to the car and starts sanding it, showing her how to do it, sanding 3 or 4 times diagonally in one direction then coming back diagonally the other direction.

"It will take a while to sand the car, if you wanna start with the wheels, I have a sanding disk with a scuffing pad that you can prep them with. When I get back I will continue with you, that sound good?"

Ele nodded eagerly, wanting to be of some help in whatever way she could. It wasn't an exciting prospect to be alone while,Tyler was at work, but working on the tires would be time consuming at the least.

"I'll miss you,"

Ele said, going to Tyler and hugging him,

"But I hope you have a good day anyway!"

[Tyler Night]

"Oh I will. I will see you later though, gonna get an early start."

He walks to his truck and sets out to work. Getting to work at about 7 he preps for the day. He gets several work rushes during his time there before finishing up for the day. At 2 he closes down and begins heading home for the day.

Ele worked diligently on the tires, sanding them as Tyler had shown her, but it hadn't taken as long as she thought. By noon Ele was finished, and decided it was a good time to make lunch. When Tyler arrived home Ele had a roast chicken pesto pasta warming in the oven for him and she had cleaned the house.

When Tyler came in, Ele smiled from where she was washing pots and pans,

"Hey babe! How was work?"

She called happily.

[Tyler Night]

"Pretty uneventful, about 50 customers."

He walks into the kitchen and takes a big whiff.

"I smell chicken pesto. You use my jar pesto or make it yourself?"

He asks walking over to her at the sink, wrapping his arms around her waist.

"Jar, I hope that's okay,"

She said, smiling and leaning back into Tyler's arms while she scrubbed. Pausing for a moment, Ele turned her head and kissed Tyler on the neck,

"It's in the oven warming if you want it. I'm glad you're home."

"That is fine."

He smiles and kisses her cheek.

"I picked up some pearlescent paint so we can finish the wheels at least today."

"Great!"

Finished with the washing, Ele put the last of the pans on a drying rack and shook off her hands in the sink. She grabbed a dish towel to dry her hands and turned in Tyler's arms. She stayed quiet for a moment then rested her arms on Tyler's shoulders,

"You're really handsome, have I told you that?"

[Tyler Night]

"No you haven't but I could get quite used to it."

He kisses her cheek then asks.

"So, how much did you get done?"
