Adrian just sighed. This just had to happen, didn't it? Add to the list of reasons...

"No, I'm good, I know how it all goes." He turned to the taller one, the guy who'd caused the... well, simply put, the trainwreck. "You should probably get out of here before something worse happens. Come on." With that, he grabbed the other Trainer by the arm and forcibly marched him out of the building, Magnus in tow. Once they'd left through the open front doors, he let go.

"Sorry about that, but it was better that you got out of the Lab sooner rather than later. There have been several incidents, all of them during League registrations, when the old Prof misinterpreted Gary's name," Adrian explained. "Each one usually coincides with a sharp increase in the difficulty of the Viridian Gym's challenge... he's not gonna be happy if he remembers you when we take on the last of the Gyms." He gave a brief grimace. "Honestly, I figure Oak should've been retired years ago. By force if need be. The Lab and the League would both benefit from a replacement."

It then occurred to him that the other guy probably didn't even know who he was. "Um, sorry, I should introduce myself. Adrian Manuka, of Celadon. The little guy is Magnus."

"Pff-ff-ff-ftpscccrnk!" Were among the unusual noises escaping Charlie's person. Upon witnessing the outburst of a world renowned league champion via the antics of a Pokemon professor with terminal onset poo-brain, the bushy haired trainer had to put a hand over his mouth and reel away from the others to stifle back his hysterics. He was failing, noticeably, and had to relocate Quinn to the top of his head to free up his hands. Said hands were used to cover his mouth, a much more physical alternative to block back laughter. Tears began running down his face by time Adrian and the latecomer departed. He figured that was as good a time as ever to take his own leave, before Gary turned his white hot glare towards him.

Charlie quickly began towards the entrance. "Yeahpfft I got the gist thanksforthepokedexthough" He quickly added before scurrying out. Once he was clear away from the lab his laughter was released in a series of heavy breaths and squeaky guttural warbling that left him mostly silent, but his mouth agape. When his fit ended and he could stand up straight again, he let out a big breathy sigh. "Whoo...oh Arceus, never thought i'd see that in person!" With his composure fully regained, he joined the other two trainers, one warning the other about the consequences of enraging a high profile gym leader.

"Didja ever see the one that went viral?" Charlie interjected. "It was a TV interview where Professor Oak did it live! They had to cut the interview short after Gary practically tossed his chair at the camera and attacked the interviewer!" The thought of seeing the video made him chuckle again. "Ohhh shit..." He let out another satisfied sigh. "Thank you for that, late guy, it was a real treat seeing that in real life!"

Adrian moved to introduce himself and his Pokemon. Charlie only felt it natural to do the same. "And i'm Charlie Delacroix. And the cute little ball of shyness on my head is Quinn." She barely reacted to hearing her name, and wondered why he kept giving it out to strangers.

As the Viridian Gym Leader tore into him, Erik stood stiff, paralyzed in the fear of doing anything more to raise the temperature of the white-hot fire being spit his way. Katya tucked herself in behind her trainer, not sure of what she could do to ease the situation. Fortunately someone else behind him had a bit more presence of mind to pull the Sinnoan out of the reach of Gary Muthafuckin' Oak. As the pair skedaddled out of the lobby, Erik finally snapped out of his trance long enough to listen to his presumed savior, as well as the looky-loo who had peaced out right after them.

Erik could only rub the back of his neck, doing his best to avoid the still perched Pokemon on the back. "I didn't mean to do that though...I just thought I broke the thing already." He had his Pokedex out and was checking the holo-screen to make sure nothing was cracked or anything. Luckily the annoying experience with the X-transceiver was not repeated this time. Everything was in working order. Erik's confidence on the other hand was still struggling to come back online. "He didn't have to go so crazy about it..."

Introductions were to be had though, and the other two gentlemen made their names and partner's known. "Right, um, I'm Erik...MacKinnon. I'm from Veilstone, out in Sinnoh." He pointed up over his shoulder to the now emerging Roselia, who was satisfied that these new people did not wield the same kind of fury that Gary did. "This is Katya."

Katya waved her blue rose-adorned limb at the two other trainers, ignoring the fact that she should likely be somewhat leery of the Fire-type on the head of the other boy. That thing looked far too sleepy to be troubling. "Rose!" She offered in greeting.

"So do we have to stay here?" Erik said, still looking back at the lab. "I don't want to stay here any more."

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Gary took the silence of the other three trainers to indicate that there would be no more questions. "Good, now get out of here. Don't let the Pidgeys crap all over ya."

"OH SHIT! OH SHIT!"

Gary turned back towards the lobby, where he heard the cries coming from the Professor. "Gramps! Gramps, what is it?"

"Oh shit! Come help me! The toaster isn't working right! Get your Arcanine to cook this bagel for me! It's too cold, oh shit!"

"Grrrrrr..." Gary could barely keep his eyebrow from twitching out of control. "Everyone out. Now."

Aeris watched in silent amusement at Gary raging at the new name his grandfather had picked up from one of the other trainers, and was very childish about whenever Gary cursed, though she knew well not to do anything that would make him turn his anger towards her. She might be hyper and her attention easily turned towards something else, but she wasn't stupid enough to make someone who was already angry even angrier.

When he addressed them to go, Aeris was quick to grab Fary's arm and drag her outside, calling back to Gary and Oak "Thanks for the Pokédex!" and joining the others who were already outside. She heard the late trainer, the one who had made Gary so angry, introduce himself and his Pokémon, and she thought to do the same, letting go of Fary's arm before she introduced herself.

"Hi!" she said in her usual hyper tone which was usually a little loud. "My name is Aeris and this little ball of fun is Lisa!" She pointed towards the small Joltik on top of her head. "Joltik!" Nice to meet you! she said to the Roselia. Lisa already considered all the new Pokémon she'd met from the other trainers her friends, and she was looking forward to meeting more.

"I don't know about you guys, but I'd rather just get out of town as soon as possible to meet new Pokémon! It's gonna be so fun!" Aeris was bouncing with each step, already slightly ahead of everyone else.

"So do we have to stay here? I don't want to stay here any more."

"I don't blame you, after the less than spectacular introduction to the League," Adrian noted, his voice light and cheery to try to lift the mood. "But yes, we can and should make a start on the road. I know the way, follow me." With that, he led the way down the stairs, intending to retrace the path he had taken to get to the Lab in the first place.

"So, if I'm the only one of us from Kanto... I guess I should go into a bit of detail on what we're up against. For the first couple of Gyms, I mean," he quickly clarified. "I did some research, to see what people were up to these days, and I think Gary's speech was packed full of exaggeration. First on the roster is Brock, up north in Pewter. Everyone calls him a colossal pushover. Although, to be fair, I'm hardly surprised. Rock-types aren't particularly threatening. Unless he imported some from overseas, any reasonably well-trained... hang on a sec. Magnus!"

Beep! Caught in the act yet again, Magnus sheepishly dropped from the streetlight from which it had been siphoning electricity, and returned to Adrian's side. The Trainer gave his Pokémon a look, then turned back to the others.

"Sorry, he gets out of hand sometimes. Anyways, where was I... right. Brock. Pushover. Pretty much anything that isn't a Normal, Fire, or Flying-type will thrash his team." The small group of Trainers were passing the docks as Adrian concluded his half-explanation, half-ramble.

Finally catching Pallet town in his sights, Lyle gunned it down the road as fast as he could, with Drumroll in tow. His uncle had been kind enough to help him get to Viridian city...but left the rest of the way to him. As he put it, Lyle would have to do alot of traveling on foot as a trainer, so walking to Pallet town would help him get used to it. Still, Lyle really didn't mind. After all, he had a pretty good running speed, and he knew Drumroll could keep up easily once he got started, he'd been able to get there in a flash!

Lyle skid to a stop at the entrance to Pallet town, out of breath. It had taken him longer than he thought it would to get there and he had burned through a lot of his energy at the start. Still, he was confident that that energy would return quickly if he took a moment. Besides, that didn't matter for now since he had made it! He would have jumped for joy right then and there if he hadn't been catching his breath.

Of course, he had forgotten that Drumroll was right behind him... at least until he smashed into Lyle's backside and knocked them both over, sending them both sprawling.

"Ooowww..."

"Mmmaaa..."

After laying there for a bit, Lyle and Drumroll finally got the energy to work on untangling themselves from each other. "Be honest D, are you trying to use me as a Knock down practice dummy?"

"Ma, hit ma maku ta hita." Yeah, cause you're the prefect Dummy for it.

"Yeah, yeah...", he said, as they both got off each other and finally got back up. Instantly, Lyle's mood perked up and he stated, "So, where should we go to get our Pokédex?", holding his hand up to block the sun while looking around enthusiastically. Despite looking into being a professor, Lyle had never really seen a professor's laboratory before so he really had no idea what it looked like...but, he could guess. Of course, it helped that Drumroll seemed to think so too.

"Maaa...Ku hita?", Drumroll said, obviously in a better mood and pointing to the Oak laboratory. Um...Maybe that building?

"Of course! That makes sense." He responded before rushing in the direction of the building, with Drumroll hot on his trail. Once he opened the door, and dealt with getting knocked flat by Drumroll again, he poked his head in and looked around, saying, "Hello? Is anyone here? This is where i can get my pokédex, right?"

Charlie's expression twisted into a bit of a grimace as Adrian gave a brief rundown of what to expect out of the region's first gym leader. "Pretty much anything that isn't a Normal, Fire, or Flying-type will thrash his team." "Really...?" The bushy haired trainer pouted.

"So pretty much the only Pokémon I have won't be enough against the first gym leader. Good to know." He replied in disappointment. Quinn didn't take the news any better, and began to whimper some into Charlie's ponytail. He brought the mouse into his arms to comfort her. "Shhshhshh my child, don't listen to his harmful words." He cooed and petted her in a overly dramatic fashion, the way a socialite tends to their toy Froufrou. There was no real hostility in the boy's words or actions, he always enjoyed playing up a situation with exaggerations and playful reactions.

"So basically i'll have to catch something else in order to have an advantage in the rock gym. Hopefully we'll run into some good encounters on the way to Pewter city." He added, making sure to keep up with the Kanto native.
