Co-GM: @WriterRaven Accepting Applications Until: I get an off day next week or so to start. RP Size: - 8-9 people (including GM and co-GM) RP Genre: - It's Pokemon. OK, It's Modern Pokemon, a darker version of Pokemon with Slice of Life and Crime elements (and it will be using all the updated facts, so Fairy types and the new moves are all in.) RP Post Frequency: I'm not picky, but I'd like things to be up within 1-2 weeks. Waiting is what killed this the last time. RP Post Size: I'm actually really light for an Advanced GM, two to three solid paragraphs is fine, since I know the battle ones will make up for a lot. Collab posts are heavily encouraged, since it allows for much more dialogue to be contained in a single space, and I like seeing dialogue abound. Skype is a big help for that and I'll encourage the sharing of contact info between all successful applicants. GM Notes: So Indigo is an RP that I ran on the old site for a solid three and a half years, although it was limping along during the last year with half the roster pretty much non-existent. We barely got into the Lavender Town story arc before it basically died, and I had everything all planned out so I really want to get to at least Celadon this time around. As such that's a lot of existing content that I will be using during the course of this RP with obvious tweaks to fit the new cast. Now I know at least half the people from the old site have moved onto here, so they will have priority signup slots but I would love to see some new blood in here. I think it would make the distance between falling to the ghosts of Lavender and potentially getting to the climatic end of what I had planned. --- Setting: The RP is set approximately 10 years after the events of the original Red and Blue series of games. Many of the original characters and NPCs are still in place but they have grown with time into their existing roles. The native Pokemon of Kanto has expanded with the migration of Johto Pokemon and Kanto is experiencing a new era of prosperity. However there are rumblings that not everyone is thrilled, and that seedy characters are looking to revive the long-defunct Team Rocket to cause mayhem and destruction in the real world. Mechanics: I'll say right now this is a story based RP, not a D&D-esque rolling system to determine success. The writer controls their own fate within the guidelines below. Pokemon Catching: I will allow a person's starting Pokemon to be any Pokemon from any region whatsoever as long as it is the first stage of an evolving Pokemon that is not a pseudo-legendary (no Dratinis or Larvitars. Almost want to say no Riolus either, since I know I'll get at least one.) The list of Pokemon available for capture will be limited to the first 251 Pokemon (Kanto/Johto), because I don't want to keep track of over 700 different buggers across multiple game routes. Once the group enters a Route where there is the ability to capture Pokemon, I will post a list of the available Pokemon in the OOC section. Each trainer will be allowed to capture one Pokemon per route. Some Pokemon will be marked as Rare and if you want to capture one of these Pokemon you will have to give me a good reason as to why you desire to have this Pokemon (mostly to curb everyone getting Clefairys or Dratinis. I expect things to be as realistic as Pokemon can be). Catching will be done in a post that you write up and unless you really want to have your character to fail, you'll likely succeed in capturing it. Pokemon Levelling: Levelling will occur at my discretion and usually it will be based on how active your Pokemon is in your own interactions. I usually give about one level per mention in a post, although I can tailor it at my own discretion if a Pokemon is at too low a level or getting to be too high a level for the surrounding area. The only use Charizard strategy was fine when you were 8, but let's be a little more diversified here. After certain checkpoints, usually after a Catching route or after a City's objectives are complete, I will post a level update, complete with the full roster and any move changes that may need to be made. Pokemon will have a maximum of 4 move slots available, but will be able to perform HM tasks without learning the specific HMs (because looking at a Pidgeot and saying 'That thing can't Fly' is silly). Pokemon Battling: While the move set is limited to the game mechanics, battling is more like the anime. You can get creative with how the matches go similar to how Ash was able to keep hacking his way to victory in the gyms. Again, against NPCs, you control the action and pace of the battle. When in Gyms, there will be an OOC post listing the roster of available Pokemon for battle and you choose who you'd choose to face. When it comes to battling against a fellow RPer, the outcome should be determined ahead of time and be somewhat realistic. No just claiming victory right off the back without their consent. Don't be a dick. Example Character Sheet: I will be using a different character sheet since I found that trying to guide the action with a character that is designed to not want to control the action is very tough to do, but here is a sample of what myself and Raven will be looking for on the sheets if we get this to the submission stage.
All right, I think that's everything for now. Any questions or comments, leave them down below and I'll do my best to get back to you as long as I'm not pass-out tired or drunk.

Name: Edgar Delano Age:18 Gender: Male Hometown: Lavender town Appearance: Edgar is rather tall at 6'2, and has a medium build with a pale complexion. He has fairly long brown hair, kept in a pony tail, and bangs that touch his chin. His eyes are brown. Edgar wears a large dark brown cowboy hat most of the time and also wears a light brown trench coat with many pockets, along with boots, and gloves on his hand. Personality: Edgar is laid back and enjoys just relaxing. He lives life to enjoy every moment of it, and tries not to stress out about things. His philosophy on life is 'just one day at a time'. He couldn't take the sullenness of lavender town, and tries avoiding depressing situations, which makes him not delicate with people who are down. He just doesn't know how to deal with them. His solution to anything he doesn't know how to deal with is to just leave it alone. He prefers being around happy people, and is happy-go-lucky himself. He's not serious about many things, and is lazy as a result. For Edgar, he just wants to relax, and have a good time all the time. Alot of this comes because Edgar is unsure what he wants to do. He likes travelling, but doesn't see how he's becoming anything, so he just doesn't think about it. He feels a bit ashamed whenever someone mentions their dreams, because Edgar doesn't have any, and feels bad about it. All he knows is he hated being in Lavender Town, and he wants to enjoy life. The best thing about life Edgar enjoys is the outdoors. He likes the scenery, and feeling relaxed. He feels cramped in very large cities, and is afraid of large groups of people. He's pretty friendly in small groups though, and the misses being around some company. He just wants to find a place he feels like he fits in, and find what his dream is. Profession: Currently just a Trainer, will change later to Berry Master. (Why doesn't he have a grass pokemon if he's going to be a berry master? Well you can't just laze around on the back of an Oddish all day, can you? :D) Talents: Edgar's pretty good at living off the land, enjoying the wanderer's life. He can tell what types of fruits and roots are edible and which are not. He's very creative, especially with his hands, making many tools with the little he has. His biggest talent is his ability at using berries. Inventory: A sleeping bag, a pocketknife, 3 energy powders, and a berry bag specifically for carrying the berries he often uses. The bag currently has 4 Sitrus Berries, and a Pecha Berry. Starter Pokemon: Onix- Named Gaia- lv 5- F Ability: Sturdy Moves: -Tackle -Harden -Bind -Curse Personality: Gaia is extremely curious pokemon, which often causes her trouble due to her massive size. She adores Edgar and doesn't mind him riding on her back. Biography: Edgar grew up in Lavender Town, close by the Radio Tower that was the cemetery. His family, when he was younger, worked in the cemetery. They often payed respect to the pokemon in that tower, and would often take Edgar along. The Ghastly in the tower often played tricks on Edgar, enjoying spooking him. Edgar hated going, despite his parents talking about how the pokemon's spirits would repay the respect he payed them. His mom loved Ghost pokemon, and liked the tower because of that. His parents threw a fit when the cemetery was torn down for the Radio Tower. Edgar was not too torn up about it, and celebrated the radio. He liked the happy tunes. Edgar always had a happy-go-lucky attitude, and hated how everyone in the whole city seemed to be depressed allthe time. Lavender town was not a place where Edgar could feel like he could just enjoy himself. To escape it, he often was found north of town on Route 10, climbing around on the rocks. One day his parents tried taking him to the Soul House where the graves had been moved, and he flat out refused, and went north to enjoy nature a bit, ending up around Rock Tunnel. He accidentally fell down a shaft of the cave and quickly became lost. After wandering for what seemed like hours he ran into an young Onix, who kept eyeing him. Edgar was afraid at first, but remembered his parents line about being respectful to pokemon and them remembering it. He offered the pokemon an Oran Berry, and asked the pokemon if it could show him where the exit was. The Onix eyed the berry for a minute, then looked back at Edgar before quickly snatching it. It nodded it's head, and took off. Edgar ran trying to keep up with the massive pokemon, before jumping on it's back. The Onix seemed surprised, and curious at the human on it's back, but continued all the same. At the entrance Edgar gave him the rest of the berries he had on him, before heading back home for the scolding of his life. He came back to the cave a few weeks later, to see if he could thank the Onix that saved him. He found her, and started a habit of visiting the Onix and giving her berries. Eventually he nicknamed the Onix Gaia, feeling weird just calling her Onix. It surprised Edgar's parents when his Onix started following him home. Edgar eventually decided he was tired of Lavender Town, and wanted to explore the world. He told his parents he wanted to leave. He lied to them and told them he wanted to become a great trainer, and became a champion. Really all he wanted to do was see the world, but he didn't think they'd let him do that. He officially bought a pokeball for Gaia, and started his journey. He initially went wherever Gaia would take him. During this time, he started studying the different berries of different areas. A few mishaps, and he started learning which ones would do what by watching the wild pokemon in the area. He started to feel guilty though that he wasn't becoming anything great like what he had said, and he started to head to Pallet town, the starting point of all great trainers. Even if he wasn't going to amount to much, he might as well give it a try. Notes/Other: *Edgar enjoys travelling by lazing around on the back of his Onix. *Edgar prefers keeping his pokemon outside their pokeballs whenever possible, even with a pokemon as massive as Onix. *Scared of ghost pokemon

Name: Fary Nitashi Age: 21 Gender: Female Hometown: Nimbasa City, Unova Appearance: Fary has dark brown hair, so dark in fact it's almost black, that she keeps in a messy pony tail while she's wearing her lucky plaid military stale hat. Her face is a bit longer then normal while her bangs lay just above her steel blue eyes. She doesn't really wear much make up. Maybe a dark shade of eye shadow but not blush and only gray colors of eyeliner. She is about 5 ft 6 in tall and wears a grayish blue shirt under her black short sleeved over shirt which is paired with her dark blue worn looking jeans and gray knee high boots over her jeans. She carries everything in her black, blue and purple backpack with her wak hanging out on the outside of her pack. Her Pokeballs are stored in a small light blue satchel that's next to her hips along with her Pokemon gear. Personality: Fary is warm and understanding to anyone and everyone. She loves Pokemon due to her life being raised around them and loves her best friend Aeris just as much. She's an intelligent, creative, wise cracking and witty person that loves to joke around and have fun, but is serious when she needs to be. She's laid back and at times can seem uncaring when really she doesn't let things bother her. She's bold and stubborn to the point of being combative when she feels something is wrong, or is being done wrong. She will also fight for her friends if they need her help. She does have moments of being lazy, and some times can come off as harsh when she doesn't mean to. Profession: Coordinator and Breeder. Talents: Cooking, making Pokemon food, grooming and First aid(Pokemon and human). Inventory:
  • $2000
  • 1 World Map
  • 1 Backpack
  • 4 Pokeballs
  • 1 Ultra Ball
  • 1 Sleeping bag
  • 1 Small Tent
  • 1 Drawing book
  • 1 Pencil Box full of drawing pencils
  • 1 box of artist grade colored pencils
  • 3 Antidotes
  • 3 Potions
  • Her father's book for Pokemon breeders and Pokemon nutrition
  • Her mother's book for Pokemon grooming and coordinating
  • Xtransceiver
  • 1 Kit for making Pokemon food
  • 1 Grooming kit
  • 1 Machete
  • Cooking tools (knife set, bamboo spoon, and a wak)
  • Change of clothes
Starter Pokemon: A female Zorua named Emily. Biography: Fary was born and raised in Nimbasa City with her mother Hanna, a coordinator, and her father Mark, a breeder. Fary spent her life learning how to be a breeder and a coordinator with her parents. She loved watching her mother in Coordinator events, and helping her father with the Pokemon he was raising. Because of her father's work, she was raised around Pokemon ever since she was born keeping them as pets; her first being an Eevee. Growing up her best human friend was Aeris from Driftveil City. The Mason family and the Nitashi family are very close. Fary and Aeris grew up playing together with Eevee. At the age of 5 Eevee evolved into Umbreon because of how much time they spent outside at night watching the stars. For years, Fary and Umbreon spend time around Nimbasa City until Fary was 11. Umbreon was walking around the city with Fary when it started to cough up blood and couldn't move. Fary ran home trying to get her family and Nurse Joy to help, but there was nothing they could do, Umbreon was dead within hours. She was going to leave to be a trainer at age 12 but the lose of Umbreon had crippled her will to go so she stayed at home to help her family. She grew close to other Pokemon but still wasn't over losing Umbreon even to this day. She was afraid losing another friend to a random illness but still wanted to help her parents as best she could. She was in a long term relationship with Grimsley that lasted 3 years. When he gambled away all of his families wealth she was their to support him and to help him with his addiction. When she was 19, when he was offered a place in the Elite Four he broke up with her. It was the day she came over to give him a Purrloin she breed just for him as a congratulatory gift. He lied to her saying that members of the Elite Four can't be in relationships due to the fact that he has to live his area of the Pokemon League, but that she will always be his Fary Queen. She didn't buy his lie for a moment instead throwing the pokeball with Purrloin at his head, and stormed out. On her 21st birthday her parents gave her a pokeball; inside was a Pokemon her father had raised for her to start her quest as a trainer. By then she wanted to be just like her parents, a breeder and a coordinator. Inside was Zorua; before she left Nimbasa City to meet Professor Oak she got to know her new Pokefriend and found she reminded Fary of Umbreon. She's still hesitant to fully befriend Zorua but was willing to try, for Umbreon's and her sake. Now her goal is to train and raise a dark based Pokemon team, including training an Umbreon. She left with Aeris heading for Kanto to meet professor Oak. Notes/Other:Fary doesn't like to keep Zorua in the Pokeball at all times; in fact, when set up at camp Zorua is out of her Pokeball and running around playing with Fary. Also, it's her goal to raise a Dragonite to the same high quality as her father did. She also wishes to open the first and only dark gym in Unova.

Name: Aeris Jessica Mason Age: 19 Gender: Female Hometown: Driftveil City, Unova Appearance: Aeris is 5 feet and 9 inches tall, Caucasian, slightly tanned, with red curly hair that reaches down to the ends of her shoulder blades and freckles all over her face. Over her bright green eyes, she wears glasses with a red frame on them, as she is near sighted. Her typical attire is something in bright colors, typically red or orange, but it can be any other bright color. She starts her journey from Unova to Kanto wearing a red shirt with short sleeves, a vest over her shirt in the same color as it, orange jeans and green sneakers. Various other brightly colored clothes have been packed. On her back she has a red backpack in which to keep all her things, and she wears a belt which has six slots on it for keeping Pokéballs on. She also has a red Xtransciever on her left wrist. Personality: Aeris is fairly hyper and is known to have big lungs, so she can talk forever before she has to take another breath. She springs from one thing to another, and is distracted almost easily, especially if it's something she's already interested in, like Bug type Pokémon. She can be very competitive at times, and protective of those close to her, almost surprisingly so for someone who appeared almost so bubbly and all over the place. Despite this, though, she's afraid of enclosed spaces because she is claustrophobic, and will become reserved and unable to do much of anything should she be put into an enclosed space, such as a cupboard of some sorts, or even a cave, no matter how big it is. Profession: Trainer Talents: Being a hyper person, Aeris is very active and fairly athletic, so she is faster than most normal people and a fair bit stronger. She has also developed a skill to understand Pokémon, not through words, but through actions, so she knows what most any Pokémon is trying to communicate to her, even one she's never met before. Inventory: In her backpack, Aeris keeps a sleeping bag for when she needs to rest outside, plenty of clothes to change into when she needs to, TM 57 Charge Beam which she has taught to Lisa, 10 Dusk Balls that were a gift from her father, and 5 Potions from her mother. Her Xtransciever is on her left wrist. She had also saved up a fair amount of money before the trip to Kanto, so she has $500 in her wallet, which is kept in a pocket on the inside of her vest. Starter Pokémon: Joltik, female, named Lisa. Has the ability Compoundeyes. Biography: Born and raised in Driftveil City, Unova, born to the breeders Eileen and Henry, Aeris was a third child, having two older brothers, one older by three years, James, and the other older by seven, Harry. Once she herself was about four years old, she became an older sister when their parents had their fourth child, second daughter, naming her Heather. Their parents were breeders, but raised their children to become independent and not have to become breeders like themselves. Harry was interested in continuing his parents' job as a breeder, learning to become one, and Heather showed interest as well at her young age, however James and Aeris weren't interested in breeding. Aeris was much more interested in the evolution of Pokémon, how it worked, the fascination of Pokémon becoming strong enough to change their form, how some Pokémon were affected by different things such as day and night, evolutionary stones and other various factors. That would be later in her life, however, once she would get closer to leaving for Kanto with her best friend, Fary. As a child, Aeris wasn't much different from how she would be as a teenager and soon-to-be adult. She was very active, very hyper, very curious about most everything around her. She loved hanging around with all the different Pokémon that her parents bred for various people, and themselves, playing with them a lot. She wasn't alone in doing so, though, since their family were friends to another family of breeders, the Nitashi family, who had a daughter about two years older than Aeris, Fary. It didn't take long for them to become friends, and soon they spent a lot of time together with each other and the Pokémon their parents bred. The two of them would grow up together as best of friends, going to the Trainer School in Striation City to learn even more about Pokémon. With a two year difference, they weren't in the same grade, but they still spent plenty of time together. There, in the Trainer School, Aeris learned even more about Pokémon Evolution, with one of her favorite books being made by Professor Rowan from Sinnoh about Pokémon Evolutions and how they worked. That's when she decided that she would become a Trainer and catch plenty of Pokémon to evolve them. Before she joined the Trainer School, however, when she was still just a young child, there had been an incident with her when she had gone with James and Harry to play inside Chargestone Cave like they had done a lot of times before. It was a cave relatively near them, and much more interesting than the one that had been made near their city. The three of them were playing around, this time playing hide and seek, with Harry seeking first, and while Aeris had gone to hide inside a crack in the wall, there was a sudden earthquake, not caused by a Pokémon but the Earth itself, and had made rocks fall right in front of the crack where Aeris was hiding. The crack didn't go very far, which didn't allow her to really move a whole lot. She called for her brothers, who came as quickly as they could and tried to remove the rocks, but were unable to due to the rocks being too heavy. They told her that they would go to get their parents and that she didn't need to worry about being stuck. Something took them a while to get there, though, and it was several hours before Henry and Eileen came with help in the form of some of the other residents of Driftveil. They removed the rocks from the crack and helped her out of there, but the damage had already been done. While she was fine physically, she had developed claustrophobia while being stuck there for so long without being able to move, having resorted to crying the whole time her brothers had been away. After that, she wasn't able to go into or through anything narrow, or she would just freeze there or start crying uncontrollably, calling for her parents. Her family did the best they could do to comfort her and keep her away from any narrow or enclosed spaces. It took a while before she would return to normal, for the most part aside from her claustrophobia. Once she was graduated from the Trainer School, her parents gave her a Joltik that they had bred specifically for her, as they knew she loved Bug type Pokémon, and they said that it fit her, being a little ball of energy and adorable. She thanked them for the Joltik, named her Lisa and put her in a Dusk Ball after showing her various types of Pokéballs to really be hers. Aeris and Fary continued to be friends after the Trainer School, and Aeris was there for Fary when she went through some difficult times, including after she got dumped by the now Elite Four member Grimsley. When Fary decided she wanted to go to the Kanto region, not long after she got a Pokémon of her own, a Zorua of all Pokémon, Aeris thought that would be a good place to start her profession as an evolutionary Trainer. And so, Aeris left with Fary for Pallet town, where Professor Oak lived. Notes/Other: Aeris will not stand for anyone taking her glasses off without her permission, and she's protective of both her Joltik, Lisa, and her best friend, Fary.

Name: Charles "Charlie" Delacroix
Age: 19
Gender: Male
Hometown: Goldenrod City, Johto Region

Appearance: Charlie stands at 5'11, a fair skinned type of mixed pedigree (Father being French-Canadian, Mother being African-American), with dark brown eyes and abundantly voluminous, puffy brown hair, usually wrapped into a crude ponytail with one of his mom's frilly scrunchies. With a thin build on an averagely athletic frame, Charlie wears a short sleeved blue V-neck, with faded "urban camouflage" cargo shorts, worn blue hi-top sneakers, a pair of long, shin-length blue and white striped socks, and a black C-Gear.

Personality: Charlie likes to consider himself to be a bona fide hardass (as his father likes to say), cold and calculated in his ways. In reality he's a bit of a happy-go-lucky goofball that tends to take value in his friends, as well as headstrong and proud whenever it's necessary. He's also more eager to help then he realizes, and smiles a lot more than he thinks. However, unless initially greeting someone, he usually won't be one to start up a conversation (usually this is even harder for him if the person in question's in his age group). It's a trait he's working on changing.

Profession: Trainer

Talents: Between a mix of the things his father taught him and the things he's figured out on his own, Charlie has found himself to be a fairly experienced survivalist, knowing many tricks to living off of the land. He's yet to have a problem with making his own fires, finding civilization, locating fresh water, making makeshift shelters, and hunting for food. He's also pretty good at climbing trees.

Inventory:
-5 Pokeballs (3 used; 3 bought)
-3 potions (originally had 5; 2 already used)
-Town Map
-$700 in cash, which he usually keeps in an old leather wallet
-Another outfit for colder climates (a grey knit sweater picked out and bought by his mother and a baggy, holey pair of blue jeans)
-An extra pair of underwear
-A multi-purpose knife/tool
-A sleeping bag
-Assorted toiletries (also packed by his mother, yet he rarely uses)
-Carried in a medium sized duffel bag that doubles as his pillow.

Starter Pokemon:
-A timid, female Cyndaquil, named Quinn.

Biography: A native to Goldenrod City, Charlie spent his whole life growing up there. He spent the entirety of his younger years waiting to be the appropriate age to be a trainer, and as he reached the optimum age of ten, he excitedly packed his things and rushed out the door...only to be promptly stopped by his overprotective mother, Dalia, and his stern, stoic, father, Samuel. Not quite ready to let their son go, they decided that he'd embark on his journey at an older age.

After school, he'd watch in envy as budding trainers entered hopefully into Whitney's gym, sometimes sneaking inside to catch a battle. If he didn't do that, he'd go outside the city, visiting the Day Care, admiring the pokemon left by their trainers (slightly happier whenever someone dropped off a Ponyta or a Mareep). While his mother worked as a manager at the Goldenrod Department Store, his father was one of the City's firefighters. Once he eventually (albeit reluctantly) completed school, his parents finally deemed him worthy (and old enough) to begin his journey as a pokemon trainer.

Upon giving him his duffel bag, multi-tool, C-Gear (he in return subsequently freaking out over how expensive it must've been to have it imported from the Unova region), and money as graduation gifts, they told him to work his way towards New Bark Town first, to talk to Professor Elm about his first pokemon. With one last hug from the both of them (and a plea to call often from his mother), Charlie excitedly began his trek, eager to start the long road ahead as a pokemon trainer. The trip was starting to form into a bit of downer, due to his lack of a companion (and all those poor youngsters he had to turn down when they found out he possessed no pokemon).

But despite the shortcomings, Charlie safely reached New Bark Town, where he obtained his first Pokemon, Pokedex, and Pokeballs from Professor Elm, re-re-deciding that his adventure starts here. However, Elm stopped him at the door (Charlie snidely remarking on how this happens way too much to him). He told him of one of his colleagues from the Kanto region, and how he was looking for trainers from regions other than his own for survey and how they'd match up against the Kanto League Challenge. Charlie frowned initially, seeing as he was looking more towards a gym battle with Whitney in his hometown, but quickly saw the positives in this rare offer, with new Pokemon and a whole different experience. He agreed finally, and with Elm's Lapras, the two began towards the region.

Bypassing Route 26 (Elm telling the budding trainer how he'd be able to come back here when he was much more experienced), the two successfully arrived in Pallet Town, where Charlie was shown and introduced to Oak. After the two Professors caught up, Oak told the trainer of the Kanto League Challenge, and of how they'd be much different than the gym leaders he's come to know in Johto. After which, Elm gave him a few last words of encouragement before departing.

Notes/Other: His father despises Fire-types and Electric-types due to his occupation (as he prefers and works with Water-types), and just doesn't know what his son sees in them. And despite their outputs on pokemon, neither parents ever owned one.

He's not necessarily taking everyone. Last time there were cuts as well. As of right now the only people that for sure have a spot are the GM and the co.

It's nice to dream, though, right? (: sorry if I sounded needlessly lax, just trying to start a conversation of some kind.

Misfortune is the story of his life; his father ran out on him as soon as he was born and his mother was slowly dying after giving birth to him. For ten years of his life he lived in an orphanage stationed in Lumiose City and faced the worst kind of abuse from the drunkard caretaker and the kids around him. Whether it was insults or physical beatings he still had a smile on his face though he wondered if his life was even worth it. At some point he was starting to believe that he truly was worthless.

On his tenth birthday he couldn't take the abuse anymore. When his caretaker finally entered a drunken stupor, he stole his keys to the building and ran like hell. In his life never had he ran this hard until now until he must've been half way across the city when he finally stopped running. At last, he was free from the god forsaken place, but now his life became harder; he was now a homeless child. He had to steal food from stores, eat from trash cans, and fight other homeless people for spots. It was truly a battle for survival. life was cruel and the experience had certainly hardened him, especially when he there were people who keeled over and died either from famine or disease.

At some point he was rescued by an old couple than ran a daycare center for pokemon and was raised by the old couple and as a playmate they gave him a Noibat that he would later name Phera. Years later he head off to the Kanto region to take part in the Indigo League.

Is this still open? I'd love to enter.
As stated above, applicants have a fair bit of time (roughly a week or so) to post their characters.
