I'll list out weapon stores if anyone takes inventory. It'll be up to you guys if the citizens go armed. Like I said, the rules at Nathanson College are for you to develop.

Alrighty, thanks for the answer. Pro Aly would not want citizens carrying weapons around. That could end up badly. But if we get raided, they having weapons would better protect them. THE DECISIONS!

I think we'll try and start sometime tomorrow. Even with the numerous characters coming in, there's still forty or so people at this college, so I'd be happy to accept new characters even once we got rolling.

There's a lot of creativity on display here, I'm really looking forwards to this one!

How many kids do you think will be at the start? I counted six kids on the CS's so would that be all the known kids at the start or will it be vague?

Good question. Probably some of the cannon fodder other NPC refugees brought kids with them. Sadly, though, I'm not sure how many children would survive the initial disaster- even the 20% that are left alive might not have the strength, wherewithal, or life experience necessary to escape zombies getting up, cars crashing, or massive fires breaking out. They would only have blind luck to depend on. Probably a number of the children at Nathanson College are with people they had never met before Black Friday, adults whose conscience dictated helping out a child.

There's a grim thought.

Let's multiply those six by three, so out of the fifty-four people at Nathanson College eighteen of them are children. That work for everybody?

Anyway, 18 children would do. Hisashi would be delighted, since he was a pediatrician.

Man, I should've created my 10 year old dictator XD. 18 out of 54 is quite a large minority. That's 1/3 of the population.

That sounds like a good number to me as well.
With the large number of kids it could cause an incentive for certain things. Like a school to teach the older kids to survive in the new word, and a nursery if theres infants and babies in the group. Also the moral question of on whether the children should grow up faster or let them be kids.

1/3 of the population being children does seem fairly high, given the situation I just described. I think I'll stick with that solely for the storytelling opportunities it provides, like Katakon pointed out.

Let's just say there was an NPC (let's call her Caitlin) who heroically went out of her way to pick up a few kids in trouble.
