Ryland carefully guides Lily down the alley. There were at least two more young unique minds not far away. He tried detriment exactly where they were and who they were.

Karou let out a frightened yelp and stumbled away from the voice that had spoken up from behind her. Her eyes widened further when she heard the voice in her head. She took a few more timid steps away, looking every bit the child she was mentally as she held her doll closer to her."M-Mary wants t-to know i-if that was y-you? I-In our head?" She said so quietly it was almost inaudible.

"yes that was me." Vanessa said. "Im sorry if i scared you. It wasnt my intention."

Karou gave the other girl a wide berth, wary now. She saw two other people walk down the alleyway and whimpered, very uneasy around so many people. She inched away, crimson eyes darting around as she tried to look for a way out.

Vanessa turned and looked at the other people approaching. "Stop now. Your scaring her" She said standing in between the girl and the oncoming people. She looked back at the girl. "I dont think they are going to hurt you." She said. "Just stay calm."

"I'm sorry. We didn't mean to scare anyone. My name is Lily and I would like to help. May I approach alone." Lily asked softly. She had to stop Ryland to keep him from going forward. He wasn't sure thinking of the children, and how scary someone of his size could be.

Vanessa nodded. She looked at the man beside her warily. "Relax big guy. I wont hurt her.." She said. She looked back at Lily. "My name is Vanessa."
"What do you want from us?" She projected.

"Ryland please your scaring the girls. I don't think they'll hurt me." Ryland wasn't so sure but knew Lily wouldn't be leaving without talking to the girls. Still he wasn't going to leave her. Too many people were seeking her and not all of them were friendly. I do not want anything Ryland projected. [I] Other then to protect my wife who is determined to seek out people like you out. People that her father experimented on.[I]

Lily took a couple steps closer. Hoping Ryland would stay where he was. "I am looking for people that have special abilities. I believe you both have these abilities. I can help you to understand them."

Vanessa crossed her arms. "Well you may need to explain further. This one seems to be a bit more on edge." She said pointing back at Karou.
"and Ryland? I was talking to her. Not to you."
"Yea i know who you are, and i remember your father." Vanessa said to Lily. "and as for abilities, mine i believe is called telepathy. i can read peoples thoughts and project my own.."

"Please forgive Ryland. He thinks he should be in charge simply be ause he's military. My father experimented on several people, myself included. Only I didn't know it until last year. I'm only now discovering the extent of his e pediments. Anyway these experiments enhanced people's psychic abilities. The problem is the use of these enhanced abilities has major consequences . I want to find these people and help them deal with not only their abilities but the consequesences of using them. I have the ability to see the future, or precognition. I am hoping to find the people my father experimented on before its to later." Lily answered

"I see. Well then im in. Not like i have much else to do." Vanessa said. "But im not so sure about this one." she said looking back at Karou. "She doesnt seem to happy around all of us.."

"What do you say little one? Ryland is giving himsel a nosebleed trying to scan all the minds in the area. Will you come with us? Get out of the cold and get some food. "Lily offered her hand to the two girls hoping the younger one would accept the offer. She didn't want Ryland passing out. She would never get them home if he did.

Vanessa walked up and stood beside Lily, just staring at her hand. "No offense but im not 5." She looked back at Karou.
"its alright." she said softly trying to calm her down. "They wont hurt us."

Karou had remained silent throughout the entire conversation, still giving the people around her wary looks. She took a few hesitant steps forward, staring up at the lady with wide, innocent eyes. "N-No more m-mean people?" She asked in a quiet voice, hugging Mary closer.

"I know your not a child. I was hoping you could lead me back to the others. My husband might look mean child but he really is just a marshmallow. I promise no one will be mean to you again. We are all different there is no need to be mean to one another," Lily replied patiently.

Vanessa took Lily's hand. She looked at Karou. "It will be ok." She said softly.

Karou gave them a nervous look before she hesitantly stepped closer to Vanessa and held out one small, pale hand.

"Wonderful. Thank you both for your trust." Ryland heard Lily say. He would be glad to get her back to the house. He was glad she had found three young people to help. Hopeful they would keep her busy and indoors for awhile. He was uncomfortable with her being so exposed. Ryland had wanted to bring some of his men along but Lily had insisted that would make it harder to get the others to trust them. Looking at the ones they had found Ryland knew she was right. He was glad it was only a few blocks back to the house.

"Let's get back to the house." Lily winced at Ryland gruff order. She understood his consern, but really he needed to be gentle. These were children not soliders. It wasn't their fault that she had chosen go out tonight. It was her fathers. Ryland often said that the night belonged to the ghost walkers. Lily knew people like herself and Ryland would be more comfortable in the night where their difference would not be so obvious.

Grumbling under his breath Ryland lead Lily and the teens back to the mansion. He hope the trip would be worth the effort. While he understood Lily's guilt he didn't like her endangering herself to make up for her father's crimes. Of course it wasn't like they could put an ad in the paper. They had to seek the others or hope they come to them seeking help.
