"Protect once more!" Majin couldn't conjure another green shield and was blasted by Jiraiya's attack. The Hoopa was left knocked out. "Majin, return; Xeimei, I choose you!" Shiranui switched out the fallen djinn and sent out the legendary Xerneas.
Jiriaya was knocked back by the attack, but continued toward the opponent. He managed to connect, but Lim knew Jiriaya would likely fall after the next blow, leaving him with only Goodra, who was at a disadvantage.
"Misty Terrain!" Xeimei covered the field in mist just in time to receive another super effective hit. The mist made both Xeimei and Jiraiya immune to status effects. The Xerneas recovered more HP.
Goodra was hit and KO'd. Shrine was named the winner of the tournament. His picture along with the pictures of his six Pokémon appeared on the screen with the word "Champion" in a fancy gold cursive script. fireworks went off.
"Yeah, it was." Liam agreed over the roaring crowd and fireworks. Sycamore and Oak came over to the boys. They said they wanted to talk to them later that night.
The officials walked up to hand Shiranui a big golden trophy and Liam a slightly smaller silver trophy. Liam saw that near by Drasana was standing with Champion Dianatha, and three other people Liam took to be the other members of Kalos' Elite Four.
With that, the audience was slowly dispersed out of the stadium. Liam was curious as to what the professors wanted. He noticed that the Elite looked as if they were intrigued at the battle that both he and Shiranui put up.
