[IC] Yugioh: The King's Shadow

Serena nodded and said "good plan...my body can't move every easily anyway..." She tried to get up adding "feeling that gods energy...like fireworks thru all my nerves..."

Yugi fell against Tristan, his head feeling fuzzy as the others looked at him with concern. "I'm okay...just light headed is all...and my legs don't feel like staying up...right.." His legs buckled then, the young man falling forward.

[Jazz]

"I understand. Though as what you are describing. I do not think I have witnessed such a feeling before," Yami told her as he helped her up really to a point where he tried to give her a piggy back ride so she wouldn't have to use her legs to move. "I have not given anyone a piggyback ride before like Joey and Tristen have before. Even so it would not be wise to try and move so much.

Tristen caught his friend who had begun to fall forward before picking him up and setting his down on a chair. "Easy there Yugi. Just relax." Joey came over and sat down next to Yugi. "So you saw Yami right? How're they doing?" He asked while Marik walked over toward Adam as Seto was pulling up files upon files of the Dueling records from his past tournaments and skimming though the Duelists. "How's it going thus far?"

She smiled and said "If I can lean on you that would be fine. I just need to move my legs to get feeling back in them again...and I can see why you don't give piggy back much. Both of them have at least a head on you...but I've always liked shorter guys anyway" She put her arm around his shoulders and said "So...you get any answers or just more questions"

Yugi held his head and nodded. "They are both alright...they were speaking with a god...its why we couldn't get a hold of them..." Adam looked up and said "We have a good list to start with...if I just had one more thing to add to the list to thin it out that would be make this is a lot easier...Mr. Kaiba you find anything on your end?"

[Jazz]

Nodding toward her advise and what she needed, he wrapped an arm around her waist while his hands held hers that was around his shoulder though as to hearing how she likes shorter guys. Yami didn't exactly understand this, so tried not to think too much into it. Though the question he got made him think. "I believe we are getting somewhere, though he has me thinking about my heart and the King of Shadows. 'King of old....he has been at your side since you took the throne...only recently returned to your side...and your heart is just as close'. The god said that Hathor could help me figure this out if I were to search my lost memories. Plus we have a lead. I say this has done good for us."

"Well I guess that could make sense. It wouldnt be unusual with all we have been through." Joey commented. Seto leaned back within his chair before standing up. "Alot of duelists from around the world. When it comes to what you are looking for you are asking the wrong person. So I am having my computer sort them out as to what we are looking for." He said to Adam without having turned to talk to them. "Mokuba. I need you to transfer the sorted Duelists to Adam to look over. I would recommend helping him. I am not one to look for certain traits within such competition." He advised.

Serena nodded and said "I'm curious about the heart thing...what if they don't mean actually...what if its a figure thing? You know how the old story myths used metaphors" She flinched as her legs worked out the numbness.

Mokuba nodded and moved over to do what he asked, Adam rolling his neck. "Thanks kiddo...fresh eyes will help..." Yugi looked up at the group and said "I'm alright...just light headed is all...I haven't done that in a long time..."

[Jazz]

Yami shrugged as best as he could. "Maybe. We will know when we find her and be able to ask our questions. That is if she will be willing to see us." He walked at Serena's place while on their way toward Kaiba Corp.

Seto nodded back toward his little brother watching him do as asked. Seto slightly turned the seat to look over to Yugi. "Good to know, though I would advise straightening up soon. As soon as we get what we need, heading back would be better of plans seeing as how we need to be ahead of our enemies." Seto advised which was a bit rare. Marik nodded. "I agree. We wouldn't want to linger too long here. Did Yami say anything to you about what Thoth and himself talked about?" Marik asked Yugi.

Serena looked at him and said "She will see us...the fate of both worlds depends on it..."

Yugi nodded and said "Only a little...but the important thing was that the gods don't want this to turn into a full out war...but fear that's the path its going to take...Yami has to find his heart before Apep does...he said it was closer to Yami then he knew..."

[Jazz]

Yami didn't say anything but agreed with her. Continuing their slow walk toward the hideout, knowing that going toward Kaiba Corp was just a flat out bad idea right now while he Serena was needing rest. Yami was alright but he needed time to think about all this. Have an idea or clue as to what Thoth told him.

Marik looked thoughtful about what Yugi told him about what the messenger god said to Yami. "Closer to Yami than he knew....? I wondered how that is so..." Seto turned back to the screen as they were having the names printed and set as a backup for Adam. "We have a few minutes left before the backup and the printed copies are ready."

She looked aver at him and said "You have something on your mind...any thoughts come to you about what the god told us?"

Adam nodded as he laptop started downloading everything they needed. "I will send word to the Bikers, let them know we are going to be on the...hold on" He turned to another screen and said "Kabia...you weren't expecting guests were you? Because your silent alarm just started going off"

[Jazz]

"Not yet. It seems i am no closer to solving this by thinking over. There is so many things it could mean. Though i understand how he would need to speak of these clues in such a way. When i sealed myself away i gave clues to the puzzle. Hopeing one day when i was needed again, i would help the world all ooverto defeat Zorc. Knowing that the seal would not hold forever." Yami explained. Looking around every now and again as they walked. "It seems this answer holds within our buried past." Yami glanced his gaze to her to check on her, stopping to adjust and help them be as comfortable as possible before continuing their trek towards the hideout. He would hold out till them. He then pressed a button on the ear piece that was given to him by Serena. "Adam? Im calling to check in. We're heading back toward the hideout."

The CEO frowned. He looked to see where the silent alarm was being triggered and pulling the video feed up on a bigger screen.

Adam hit his ear piece and said "We will head there soon...we have some company here that triggered the alarm..." Serena looked at Yami and said "It must be the Hunters...they could have tracked Seto and the others." Adam looked over at the screens as three hooded figures came into sight. He frowned and said "We need to get out of here...I would rather not get into a fight here"

[Jazz]

Yami nodded, acknowledging Serena's guess while they walked. He knew they would be able to take care of each other as a group, but as proven the Hunters were a challenge too. "All we will be able to do is wait for their return. Helping them would be wise but the wiser would be to head back, tend to you and and be prepared for our upcoming visit. It is up to them." The former pharaoh pressed the button on the comm piece. "I understand. We will await your return." Yami hated not being able to help. It was against all he stood for. But this he knew was not much within his favor.

Seto almost let loose a growl while watching the footage before him. He was highly annoyed with this and started closing things down. "Mokuba, the vent under the desk lead the way. It will hold and you all can fit. Move!" He ordered them with the evident annoyance in his tone. He was planning to stay behind for a moment as he locked the doors to buy them time. Marik had his sister and Odion go first, before he went, Joey followed after Yugi and Tristen followed Tea. Adam would receive blueprints on the building and the camera footage around it.

Serena cursed and said "I hate we can't help...Yami? Am I losing it or is that..." She pointed and waiting for them was a small brown fur ball with huge eyes and clawed hands. She stopped, blinking hard. "Please tell me you see that too or I think I hit my head harder then we thought..."

Adam was helping Seto close things up when the doors started to shake from being slammed on. He looked over at Seto and said "You should go ahead. I can finish up here...I'll hold them back till everyone is thru"

Yami sympathized with her on her comment. He wanted to help but they weren't close to Kaiba Corp and Serena wasn't in any condition right now to take on the hunters. His thoughts were stopped by her uncertainty and the small furball before them. "Kuriboh?" He called out to the furball that he seemed familiar with. He didn't know another Duel Monster that was a small brown furball with huge eyes and clawed hands other than his small companion.

Kaiba didn't answer Adam at first, his annoyance growing as time passed, then again who wouldn't? "Like it or not, you aren't deciding what I'm doing. We're getting out of here before they catch us and thats final. Unless you have experience in the game of Duel Monsters, I'm covering our exit." He told him, preparing his Duel disk having drawn some cards and placing three cards in the spell/trap slots and summoned Saggi the Dark Clown in defense mode and played Kaibaman in attack mode. He smirked, daring them to try and get through this. "Lets go. We don't want to be here for this." He told Adam, walking over toward the vent and waited with the smirk still on his lips and a dangerous one indeed.

Kuriboh cooed and floated over to them, rubbing against Yami's cheek. Serena blinked and said "You two know each other?" She looked at him as Kuriboh cooed again and floated down the alleyway, pointing the way. "Any idea what his wanting us to do?"

Adam was finishing up the last code and lock up and then turned to Seto and said "I do...but at the moment I will leave it to you" He ran over to the vent then stopped when he saw the video feed and saw a man at the main doors. "Its him...Drake..."

[Jazz]

Yami chuckled a little when Kuriboh and had come over and rubbed against his cheek. He knew this was a greeting and his way to tell you how he felt. Yami had ignored her question to watch the fuzzball start his new found leadership to pointing out the way. "Yes. He wants us to follow him. Where to is unclear but Kuriboh has never lead Yugi and I astray." He told Serena as he then continued the trek and following Kuriboh. Yami was silent a moment while they followed Kuriboh, glancing to Serena and then to Kuriboh once again. "I've known Kuriboh since I have been around Yugi as a partner. He has always been a friend and ally that many have underestimated and time and time again, Kuriboh has proven that even the smallest of creatures can turn the tides within a duel when given a chance." Yami told her.

Kaiba was about ready to go in the vent with him when Adam stopped to look at the screen. He let his slight curiosity get the better of him when he looked at the same screen and knew exactly who was there. He wondered what this man was up to and thought rather came to the conclusion that he was behind this intrusion. They needed to get out. There was no way he was going to let him and Adam get captured. "Come on! We need to leave, now lets get going before the door comes down!" Seto barked. Drake could wait. For now.

Kuriboh cooed again as they walked and Serena asked "You seem to have relationships with many different creatures...how does that work when they are from the shadow realm?"" She paused for a moment, testing her legs and nodding to him that she could walk on her own again.

Adam didn't seem to hear him at first, staring at the screen and muttering softly "Why are you doing this brother..." When Seto walked over and grabbed his arm Adam jumped and said "What did you say?"

[Jazz]

Yami stopped with Serena as she test her legs, letting go when she nodded to him so she could walk on her own again. He started walking again when she was ready, following Kuriboh. "I believe that comes from our connection through our duels, our adventures together. One who weilds the Milennium Items is also a bridge between both this world and the Shadow Realm. Maintaining balance between the two. Since I have had a bond with Yugi, he two can do this, but he has had a bigger connection through his cards as I have come to do as well." He explained to her.

Seto growled when he didnt seem to listen but was getting curious if these two were related. He would find out later. "Lets go! We dont have time to stay and try to connect any dots. Get a move on before they break the door down!" Seto barked as he to pull and push Adam to the vent. They had no time to b awestruck an Kaiba was losing his patience fast.

Serena nodded as the fur creature stopped and cooed again and pointed to a building across from the street from them. Serena blinked and said "Isn't that Pegsus's main office building? Why would he bring us here?"

Adam shook it off and followed Kaiba, grabbing his bag as Seto opened the vent. He jumped in after Seto and shut the vent behind him. "I'm sorry...I didn't think they would send Drake..." He started to move forward as they heard the door smash in.

[Jazz]

Looking to Kuriboh whn he stopped and pointed, Yami came up next to the small Duel Monster and looked to what he was pointing to Pegasus' main office. Whatever was going on, Kuriboh seemed to want them to coe here for some reason. "I do not understand myself but it seems Kuriboh wants us to go there to check or visit Pegasus. Either way, we should be on our guard." Yami looked back to Kuriboh and smiled, kneeling before next to him and placed a hand on Kuriboh's fuzzy head only to then stand. Yami started his walk toward Pegasus' office.

Kaiba rolled his eyes while he was getting Ada out, making sure that Adam came into the vent with him. Feeling a bit more calm now that they were out an getting out, Seto heard Adam's apology but it only made him frustrated even more. There an explosion and the power was turned off. Seto felt satisfied by this. "Forget it. It doesnt change the fact that he was there. Just deal with it and move on."
