Hello!

I just wanted to let you know that I may be a bit sparse through the next couple weeks. I have 2 midterms this Wednesday and finals on December 5th and 7th. Ill try and post when I can still :)

I'm all rested and ready to get back into the game :P

I figured we should work out a plan/direction for Splinters before we get going again, that way we can move the story along a bit better?

Sounds like a good idea to me. What ideas did you want to see in the story first of all?

Well, I know before we were going to have Daniel and Avery fall in love while Amelia would be kind of the triangle for Daniel, representing what he had always wanted. There are also the pieces of eight that Avery are hunting so we can use that and have some urgency for finding them, that keeps Amelia away from shore/being taken back to her family as well as provides opportunity for love and adventure. Outside of that i'm not soo sure what do do kind of 'along the way'.

What would you like to see?

That's about what I see, adding Avery trying to find out where her curse came from and her powers growing and trying to remove the curse before the demon side of her takes over.

The pieces of eight are small gems right? As opposed to a Spanish dollar?

Yes they are. To give more info, they were the pieces that were used to seal a demon of the sea, using the sins and darkness of humanity as the cage. But that was years ago and now that man kind has become darker, the pieces are losing power on their own and becoming parts of the demon, which is why if a normal human touches them the darkest part of them comes out. Avery is trying to get the pieces together to the pirate lords of now to redo the seal and then hide the pieces so no more will be hurt...

Does that make more sense now??

She had about 3-4 in her possession right?

I'm just trying to think of some crafty way to find the rest. Like in Tortuga they could come across a rowdy drunkard who has the gem as a ring from his deceased wife or something. They could catch a whisper of mermaids hiding one and so they go to try and find the mermaids, etc.

She has four yes. We will mostly find them in places that are cursed or evil tainted...like other pirate crews or twisted leaders of sorts.

hmm alright... so lets start with this (obviously we can play with it);

- Spanish Pirate attacks
- We win
- Daniel/Avery/Amelia things (Daniel learns more about Amelia and gets closer with Avery)
- Decide maybe the best thing would be to find a place to make birth for a bit.
- Come across a rather dark feeling, welcome looking island. Go there.
- Corrupted tribe of people, they have a piece of eight (5)
- interact with people (fight? cannables? friendly but misguided person of power?)
- Leave sneakily, otherwise they will kill us
- Get away on a high tide
- At sea for a quiet while
- Daniel begins to fall in love with the sea, Amelia begins to become a jarring reminder of what he should like, Avery soothes that, he feels guilt.
- Mundane joys of sea-life
- Avery's condition worsens slowly but steadily
- Scarlet is beginning to run out of supplies, need to stop to get more
- Go to Tortooga
- Get supplies, send crew to enjoy the accommodations
- decide to spend the night in a tavern/inn
- find a corrupted English navel officer who is now being hunted for treason. He is fiddling something smallin his fingers in a rather obsessive manner. He seemd half mad. (6)
- New information; tavern known for brawls and murder
- people try to ambush small group (Avery, Bane and a few others), discover piece of eight and that the ex. officer acts as a mob boss in the tavern.

It's really rough but what do you think? Would you like to write the rest of finding the last 2 pieces?

I like this outline, but I'll wait to write the rest out until we see how things progress. I have a habit of picking a plot path then changing it when I see how the characters grow and change.
