Roleplay thread <HERE>


"For whatever reason more and more super-powered individuals have been reported from all around the world, and while many are using their new-found powers for their own ends some have volunteered to join the international..."



This roleplay is a turn-based combat simulator using multi-part missions and scenarios where heroic characters use their technological, biological or magical abilities to fight crime, overcome metahuman opponents and solve simple puzzles (such as how to prevent a bomb blowing up the building they're currently standing in.)

Each player will take on the role of a human (or near-human) character who has somehow recently discovered they have superpowers, and have volunteered to help protect the world.

I'll be using a modified game system based on the one developed by @Behemoth542 for his BattleCorp™: Combatant Creator roleplay, with a few alterations to increase the narrative scope of the system:

@Eklispe It'd be very similar to BattleCorp™, but with more narrative provided on my end to frame the scenes, and more 'real world' targets to take down rather than topiary.

@rush99999 Looking good overall, but just a couple of points I'd like you to consider.

Stats: Health 17 / Defence 4 / Attack 4

Since you get +5 Health for each Skill Point spent Jacoby's Health should now be 25, rather than 17

Skills:We are the champions: Jacoby play's a tune on his magic guitar that inspires his allies and increases their stats by 25% for 4 turns. (Energy cost: 4)

If this power is going to last for 4 turns then it's a little too cheap. I'd say make the cost 8 Energy, or make it variable at 3 Energy/Turn

Since Abilities only work on the turn they trigger, any lasting effects would require a Status Effect to be activated. How about making it work something like:
We Are The Champions: Cost 3/Turn; Jacoby plays a tune on his magic guitar that inspires his allies, triggering the Inspired status effect which increases their Attack and Defence stats by 25% while active.

Jacoby would be able to maintain the music for four rounds before running out of Energy, but would then have to stop and rest before playing again.

Pretty much. I also tweaked her 'Up, Up and Away!' Ability so that it uses a status effect now granting her protection.

Would you guys actually mind if I played a character as part of the adventure as well as being the GM? I promise I won't give them any special favours or treat them any differently from the rest of you.

Also, I'm planning the first adventure to be a bank robbery, but with some extra twists which will act as plot hooks for future adventures.

If anyone has ideas for plots, villains or scenes they'd like to be included in the game, please feel free to PM them to me. All suggestions will be taken into consideration, and the only reason something will be turned down flat will be if there's already something too similar already in the works.

Speaking of which, the first villain is already designed and waiting to go, but won't be revealed to the party until we reach the right moment in the plot.

Oh, I'll be metagaming. Expect me to be sending secret orders and plot tips via PM to players to keep things interesting.

Depending on who you're playing as they'll also be situations where the villain may be able to get the upperhand on certain power sources, genders, alignments, races and ages. Everything I've asked for on the CS will be important in the ongoing campaign at some point.

I'm going for the Flanker role, which I take it is the equivalent to a ranged striker for this game. :)

Stats: 40/ 6/1
Skills: Stone skin, Urban Camouflage

I think you may have overspent on Skill Points. We have to pay 2 Points for each of our Abilities, as well as using them to increase Health and Defence.
