9am- Friday 1st August 1997
Caroline’s feet shuffled across the hardwood floors, soles scuffing the wood with petulant squeaks muffled by the rustle of cloaks and half stifled yawns. A sense of resignation bound them together; packed like penguins as they oozed towards the elevators, reluctant runners on the last leg of the morning commute.
Her breath caught in her throat, tendrils of icy mist rising around her despite the regular flash of flames as wizards and witches burst into reality. Shifty eyes glittered in the firelight as they searched for an adversary, taught faces relaxing as they gratefully burrowed into the crowd. More than cold kept the group together, a tension stretched over them like clingfilm pulling them tight, holding them close.
These were not days to be alone. You Know Who, the name hung round their necks, a lead weight pulling them down, the crowd a sea of bowed heads staring fixedly at their shoes. Even the ceiling seemed sorrowful, teardrop shapes and downturned mouths of pure gold twisting and undulating across a sky of deep melancholic magenta.
Without warning she trembled, rubbing her arms to disguise it as a frostbitten shiver, even as she allowed herself to be carried into the elevators.
The office seemed normal. The senior testers huddled around the coffee pot, eyes closed and heads bowed over their cups in silent prayer for a speedy end to the day ahead. The juniors held court on the other side, wide eyed and bouncy as they discussed the activities of whoever was currently enduring the wrath of yet another nocturnal excursion into youthful debauchery.
Looking at the centre of the bunch, her eyes widened as she found her usual bleary eyed culprit of a Thursday morning, wide awake and head already bent over a dusty tome and she advanced on him with playful exuberance, creeping forward as he remained intent on his work.
The desk gave a dull thud as she slammed both hands down but didn’t draw a wince only a wary glance from below his fringe as he looked at her with weary glazed eyes that seemed strangely distant. If he was on something it was something she hadn’t seen before and with this lot she thought she had seen it all.
“Caracus, I thought you told me that Wednesday nights at The Coven was worth the agony”
He looked at her slightly bemused before giving an unnatural smile his voice short
"Not last night,wasn't feeling it"
She clasped her hands in mocking pride her voice high and eyelashes fluttering
"They grow up so fast"
"Shut up" His face contorted with a dull snarl words tearing at her in a tone she wasn't sure was sarcastic. He immediately returned to his work and she turned to the group with a questioning eyebrow raised
"Who shoved an owl up his nightshirt" she whispered and Kay,his roomate, gave a shrug of her slender shoulders, blonde hair rippling in the candle light
"Dunno, he's been a cock all morning, Daz think's he's on troll bogies"
Caroline snorted
"Don't be ridiculous, troll bogies can't give you a high"
A smile twitched across David's thin face, emerald eyes sparkling with a familiar glint of mischief
"Exactly, wouldn't you be pissed if someone sold you them to you?"
She gave a small shake of her head to flop down at her desk chair with a wan smile. Not even 9 o Clock and she was already at it ; everything was back to norm... no....she shook her head,desperately trying to clear the creeping sensation that everything was far from normal.

A little introduction to the concept
This was the basis of an rp that myself and The Dookie Nut took on as a 1v1 however unfortunately for personal reasons I could not continue it. As such she shall be my Co-gm in this venture.
Having got my life in order I wanted to resurrect it and bring some new characters in to support it and help it grow.
I am looking for another 3-4 active players to take on the role of a Ministry Witch or Wizard, powerful or weak, toilet cleaner or auror all are welcome. I'll take one foreign wizard in the group but it needs a full justification.
If we only get 1 extra player we will still continue it with just the 3 of us so please don't be shy. The format of this rp allows charactors to be added at any time so this rp will remain open as long as possible.
What to expect from this rp?
I'm looking to create a freeform rp where the story is dictated by you. I have a beginning point and a very vague ending point and potential twists in the middle but really the story will be up to you and in particular how we strike at the death eaters will be up to you...
Want to mobilise a muggle army.... game on... Want to go overseas to recruit foreign wizards give me an hour to create an appropriate npc and lets do it.
If we have multiple good suggestions we will do them all.
I won't stray away from combat and dueling but considering we are few against many straight up combat is Ill advised. We will need to be subtle and the main part of the story will be the planning of our attack the subsequent issues it throws up which means interaction bonding and charactor development will be pushed to the fore
Like any rp I hope to take our charactors on a journey that will make them or break them
GM Rules and Guidelines
1. Don't be a dick- this covers no godmodding no controlling other people's charactors without permission... No uber invincible charactors
2. Post once a week at least, always happy with more- I would rather you spent a week then cooked up a gem then took an hour and provided something substandard. Collaboration posts are encouraged just let us know what's going on
3.too much going on-let us know and we will work around it.
4. OOC or Pm discussion is encouraged got an arc for the story you think would be awesome- share it- I have a story lined up for us and can easily bring us back to my eventual ending place wherever we go. At the end of the day I think this will be better if we really run wild with it and see where it takes us.
5. Canon- I will be going from the HP books 1-7 not the films and not Pottermore- I find everyone is comfy with this and it leaves us lots of room for interpretation on this particular story arc. You want to bring in pottermore facts that's fine share them in the ooc first so we all know before you post.
6. Post length- it's quality not quantity. I've found that writing together helps everyone improve through new ideas and inspiration. Write to the best you can and hopefully together we can all feed off each other.
