He has access to the Libris family wealth, providing him with a near unlimited amount of funding from sinful ways and more information about people to the point that he knows some people better then they know themselves.
Edoric is cocky and teasing, but it come from good reason with his skills and background. If he wasn't enjoying his life of crime, he would easily be amongst the most noble and charming of society, not that he doesn't display some of those qualities in his criminal path. He enjoys making plans and will come up with multiple backups and contingency plans so even if you ruin one part of his plan, he'll easily have another ready. He also enjoys showing off magic tricks for fun.
