[IC] The Hobbit/LotR: There And Back Again (Elvenqueen and Megara)

The twins seemed a little unsure about this suggestion, but they supposed they would have to go along. They couldn't expect Bilbo to do it on his own....or could they?
Kili grinned slightly at the hobbit as that exact thought crossed his mind.
"Well, actually, as our official burglar we thought you might like to take a look into it."

Bilbo looked at them and said "by myself? How can I bring back two horses on my own?"

"Mountain trolls are slow and stupid, and you're so small they'd never see you!" Kili explained.
"We'll be right behind you." Fili promised, nodding as he took the two bowls from the halfling, passing one to his brother. "If you run into any trouble, hoot twice like a barn owl and once like a brown owl." he instructed as the two dwarf twins gave Bilbo an insistent push towards the troll's campsite. When he turned around again they were nowhere to be seen. Now he had no choice but to go and try get the ponies back.

Bilbo sighed and started walking, trying to remember the difference between a brown owl and a barn owl. Slowly he made his way to the camp, seeing the horses tied up by the far tree. He swallowed and slowly made his way over to them, praying he wouldn't be seen.

"I don't like 'orse, never 'ave." grumbled one of the trolls as Bilbo got closer. "Not enough fat on 'em."
"Well, it's better than leathery ol' farmer, all skin an' bones 'e was. Still pickin' bits o' him outta me teeth." commented the cook as he stirred the pot. All three trolls paused to look as the younger troll sneezed into the pot they were cooking from.
"That's lovely that is, a floater!" exclaimed the other troll.

Bilbo made it to the horses and started to untie the reins, praying that the trolls wouldn't see him. Or smell him. He got them loose and started to move back into the trees, closing his eyes thinking it would help him not be seen.

Unfortunately for Bilbo, the noises which the ponies made when they were freed alerted the trolls to his presence and exclaiming amongst themselves, the great beasts all blundered towards him in unison. Each tried to grab hold of the hobbit all at once and it was undoubtedly not going to be a successful endeavour for them; Bilbo was much lighter and quicker than they and could easily avoid their massive, grabbing hands.

Bilbo slapped the back ends of the horses and they took off, Bilbo running the other way to give the poor creatures a chance to get away. He screamed and ran away, ducking and rolling to get away from the trolls. He started to hoot in any different way he could think of to get aid.

"Grab it!" shrieked one troll while the other exclaimed back towards his counterparts.
"It's too quick!" somehow in their unco-ordinated blundering, two of the trolls had managed to herd Bilbo towards the third and corner the hobbit there, allowing the third troll to seize the hobbit by the ankle.
"What are you then," he demanded in his slow, drawling voice, "an oversized squirrel?!"

Bilbo tried to get free, dangling in the air like a mouse caught like a cat. "I am a Hobbit! Now release me right now!" He looked around, trying to see if he saw the two dwarfs coming to his aid, but he saw nothing.

Gandalf looked around and said "Where has Bilbo gone? He should have been back by now..."

"A hobbit?" the trolls did not seem to know what kind of creature that was. Though to their simple minds it didn't matter really, they had only one agenda.
"Can we cook him?" one of the other trolls spoke up what they were all thinking. But before they could make any move to dunk the poor hobbit into a pot, out of the bushes leapt Kili, swinging his sword at the foot of the nearest troll who squealed and hopped on the spot.
"DROP HIM!" the dwarf proclaimed loudly, glowering threateningly at the mountain trolls.
"You wot?" exclaimed the one that had a hold of Bilbo, as if he did not understand the command.
"I said, DROP HIM!" Kili repeated, swinging his sword around for dramatic effect, threatening to attack them again if they didn't comply.

"Thorin! Come quickly!" cried Fili as he ran up to the group. "It's Bilbo! He's been captured by trolls! They stole some of the ponies, he tried to get them back but the trolls have got him and we have to help!"

Gandalf got up and said "Why was he alone trying to get ponies back from trolls?!" He looked at the sky and muttered something then said "Aid the hobbit, I have something to tend to..." he ran into the woods as the other dwarfs jumped up into action.

Bilbo was trying to free his foot, looking at Kili. "I don't think that is going to help much, Kili..." He said softly, sighing as he hung there

Kili shook his head slightly but before he could explain that his brother had gone back for help, the other dwarves all leapt out from behind the trees at Kili's back and charged straight at the trolls, shouting out dwarvish war cries and fiercely swinging their weapons at the beasts.

At first it looked like the dwarves might have had the upper hand, but unfortunately Bilbo managed to once again get re-captured by the trolls. While two of them each held the hobbit by a leg and an arm, the third shouted to the dwarves savagely.
"Lay down your arms, or we'll rip his off!"

Bilbo tried to pull free but it was hopeless. He looked at Thorin and shook his head, trying to tell him not to risk the others for his stake. He looked around, now seeing Gandalf wasn't there with them. He tried to pull free again, fighting back tears of anger to put everyone at risk like this.

Having no other choice but to drop his weapons to save Bilbo's life, Thorin threw his sword down onto the ground at his feet with an angry growl. Following their leader's example, the other dwarves did the same. The trolls then seized all of them and tied most of them up in burlap sacks, while a few of the others they tied to a large branch which they suspended over the fire as a skewer.

Now that they had secured such a large amount of dwarves to eat however, the trolls could not agree upon exactly how the dwarves should be eaten. One thought that they should simply just eat them as is (because he was hungry enough and had waited long enough already!), the second insisted they should sit on them and squash them into jelly, while the third was of the mind to sautee them over the fire with a seasoning of sage.

Bilbo was trying to think of a way out of this, then it hit him. Bilbo cleared his throat and said "Oh no, you don't want cook them like that. Its very unclean...and you won't get all the worms out that way. They all have worms in a terrible matter" He looked at Thorin, raising his eyebrows and making a face that said play a long if you want to get out of this.

"Worms?! We don't have worms!" Kili and the other dwarves yelled angrily at Bilbo in protest, feeling betrayed that he would say something like that about them, since they hadn't caught the gaze he had thrown in Thorin's direction.

Rolling his eyes angrily, Thorin gave Kili and the other dwarves below him a sharp kick to warn them to play along as the hobbit was trying to help, and they quickly changed tactics.
"I've...got worms as big as my arm!" Oin announced loudly.
"Mine are the biggest worms, I've got huge ones!" Kili declared somewhat proudly, hoping it was convincing enough.

It seemed to have had the desired effect, for now. The trolls looked positively disgusted and had dropped poor Bombur who had been picked up and was about to be eaten "boots and all" just as he was.
"What would you 'ave us do then?" asked the troll who was named Bert. "Let 'em all go?"

Bilbo nodded and said "I believe it's your best course of action. Worms can spread thru touch, and you all may be at risk. You should let us go before it's too late and then wash your hands for a good hour before cooking. Just to be safe"

The trolls still seemed wary and Bert narrowed his eyes again.
"You fink I don't know what yer doin'? This here little ferret, is taking us for fools." the troll bellowed, jabbing at Bilbo angrily with his soup ladle.

Bilbo flinched then said "I am a Hobbit! Food is one of the things we never joke about. We hobbits are all about healthy eating, and being clean and most of all...safe in all of our doings. And I am trying to keep you fine trolls from getting sick and dying from worms eating your insides"

Gandalf was hiding behind a large rock from close by, watching the sunrise. "Just a little longer..."
