Name: Marie Eyler

Age: 19

Gender: Female

Race: Sub-Mutant.

Appearance:

A curvaceous young woman, with a decent amount of muscle and padding.Marie’s pale flesh is criss-crossed with scars and burns, and her face itself bares several grizzly war-wounds from days gone by. She has track marks up her arms from past flings with the needle, and her eyes are permanently tinged with a bloodshot-like glassiness. Her left eyes has a glowing blue iris, hinting at its mechanical nature.

Personality: Sly and sarcastic, Marie tries never to take herself too seriously, and has learnt not to rush through life. Like so many others who walk the road paved by ashes, Marie’s harsh upbringing has desensitised her to the world around. By 21st Century 1st world Standards she would be considered an anti-hero, bordering on a villain, but in her current circumstances she’s just another lowlife trying to get by.

History: Marie grew up amongst a band of scavengers and junkers, working out of the great copper wastes. The refugees came from all walks of life, but were united by their desperate circumstances and need to survive. Marie’s people established trade routes with some Kahrenvel’s many Prospector Guilds, supplying scrap metal and salvage at horrendously discounted prices in return for safety and protection.

Whilst the majority of the scavengers were able to swallow their pride and look the other way whenever raiders came to steal their earnings, Marie was quite the hot-head, and quickly grew sick of being pushed around.

When Marie tried to stand up to the raiders they shot her in the side of the head, before dumping her out in the badlands; leaving her to bleed out amidst the sprawling wastes of scrap.

Against all odds, Marie’s dying husk was happened upon by a cult of tech-savvy thrill-seekers from the D.I.T, who scooped her up and patched her back up; regrowing the left side of her face, and replacing her destroyed optic with an augmented mechanical eye.

Marie’s next few years were a blur of drugs and pain. She became the favorite plaything of her captors; who would pump her body full of narcotics, before using her to placate whatever desire needed tending to. Eventually, the young girl became far too weak and disfigured for the cult, who were quick to spit her back out into the wastes of Kahrenvel.

Succumbing to the experimental radioactive drugs that coursed through her veins, Marie began to mutate, becoming less human with each passing day. Whilst not a full-fledged mutant, Marie’s irradiated state was enough to earn her a spot in the Mutant Kingdoms, amidst the Bloodspitter Clan.

Full of hate and rage, Marie excelled within the Clan, becoming one of their most prized scouts. Despite her new prominence, the young woman always felt out of place amidst her near-animalistic clansmen, and it wasn’t long before she stowed away in the night; taking a sizeable load of weapons and supplies with her.

Marie happened upon the settlement of Nod; a safe haven for mutants and humans alike, although a crime-ridden one at that. Marie put her tracking skills to good use, and has set herself us a Private Investigator, working out of a small office within the dank and grimy streets of the dark city.

Name: Taryn Rill

Age: 28

Gender: Female

Race: Human

Appearance: Standing at an even 6', Taryn is a willowy, nearly ephemeral wisp of a thing. She is boyishly figured, long-limbed, and very slender. Her coppery skin is peppered in do-it-yourself tattoos and branding and she sports a thick lazy hawk in her honey-brown hair, embellished with beaded braids. She has a long, angular face, with a sharp, straight nose, dark eyes, and a full, circular mouth. She tends to wear tightly-fitted clothing as her base with scraps and looser apparel thrown over top.

Personality: Taryn is all wry smiles, saucy remarks, and playful banter. She doesn't take much seriously and the more serious something is, the less likely she is to pay it the attention it deserves. At least on the surface. She's a clever person, if one that is constantly trying to avoid any form of responsibility. The thing is, she doesn't have affiliations and doesn't want them, but is always worried she's going to get dragged into them. Being non-comittal has, so far, been an effective survival tactic for her. She's introverted, doing just fine on her own and making few friends. The ones she does make, however, she holds tightly to. She collects things, whatever the flavour of the week is, and hates it when people touch her stuff. She keeps her life very private by putting up a veneer of shallow friendliness and play.

History: Taryn was on her own even before she was on her own. Born to a single-mother, the eldest of three girls, she quickly became responsible for her younger sisters. She was a huge help to her mother in raising the family, and was out working, scavenging, trading, and gathering from a young age. When her mother began to show signs of mutation, Taryn had to make the difficult decision to take her sisters and leave. Despite her sorrow, their mother knew it was for the best, and sent them off with gifts and what little she could give them for their survival.

Time passed and life was difficult for the young girls, Taryn was only 12 when they first left their mother, and she learned the ways of the world quickly and harshly. At 23, her younger sisters being 17 and 15, Taryn was out doing a trade when her small village fell prey to an invasion of The Federal Union of Kahrenvel. By the time Taryn returned, it was over and all that remained were the bodies of those who refused. Her sisters were not among the dead, and so she could only assume they had been taken by the faction. She searched for them for weeks, following rumours, but she was not a tracker or hunter, and as weeks turned to months, the trail grew cold. Taryn lives now for herself. She refuses to join any faction and dodges them as best she can. She is always listening for rumours of her sisters, but she holds little hope.
