most definitely! It's rather exciting. I am very curious to see where the story is going to go.

I don't mind if she shows up to interact with my character. :3

You can bring Rissie up to talk to Alex, maybe she see's Iris's fairy light on top of the Stock Pot Inn and goes to investigate.

It seems like there's a lot of mage characters, but it's actually fairly balanced.... Dillan, Oliver, and Alex are all completely non-magic. Anemos, Griga, and Zanya are all spellswords/spellfists with only Griga being an expert at both a combat skill and magic skill. Lynnette is the only spellcaster that doesn't have any other combat skill that can actually do damage. Arguably, Rissie and Teruk fall somewhere between those last two, since Rissie apparently doesn't carry her bow around and Teruk minors in pole arms and short blade.

Nonetheless, it's kind of interesting that Chanda's character is the only one that uses armor. Kinda makes it all the more concerning to know that only Rissie has Medical Knowledge. I was mostly surprised to see that there were hardly any classic warrior-types. Like the whole sword and shield business, you know? We don't really have any Berserkers or Warriors-- I'd say most of them seem to be like a variation of a magic using and non-magic using rogues, but I don't know.

I would simply categorize Lynnette as a Water/Shadow Mage. What would you categorize your character as?

I knew I should have given Teruk full platemail. I just knew it.

Teruk's a Forest/Shadow mage with high mobility, like in the last game. Being a Deku means he shouldn't be taking hits at all if he can help it, otherwise terribad things happen on account of him being a midget that probably weighs twice as much as my army boots.

It's too bad I couldn't use my Darknut character for this. He rather hates magic since he's utterly defenseless against it. And knee-deep water. And lightning.

I prefer my characters to be able to dodge a hit rather than being able to take them.

Alex is swift and calculated, if she's doing her job right then her opponent won't have a target to hit so amour is kinda useless, it would just slow her down. She can take a couple of blows when nessesary depending on the weapon but her strength comes in staying ahead of her opponent.

By the way Alex has a minor in med knowledge, when she almost got her throat slit someone had to stop the bleeding.

FM, if no one else is playing o talking to my character anytime soon then I think I'm gonna schedule a paid job for her. Does the Blackmarsh Circus have anything valuable?

Yeah... Playing Dark Souls has only cemented my preference for dodgy characters over tanky ones.

Oh man-- that's right! My bad. I forgot about Alex's skill in Medical Knowledge. Still wondering what you would classify her as though.

The whole concept of Light Armor is that's it's supposed to be light... not necessarily tanky. I definitely wouldn't consider leather armor to be all that hindering.... But if you're a character that likes to fight with their body instead of a weapon, then I guess it makes sense since you'll want your body to be able to move as freely as physically possible. I'm just not so sure it would be the best idea to associate Light Armor with the inability to dodge attacks or "be ahead of an opponent".... It's just going to suck when you're fighting a high-skilled character that does have a weapon-- particularity a really powerful weapon. But I dunno. I wasn't trying to say that those of you who didn't pick it need to defend your reasons why (because it's fairly obvious why you didn't) but I just thought it was interesting how there weren't very many classic Hero type characters. I'm just beginning to wonder if they're a dying breed....

As for the Circus.... Uhmmm, nothing like extremely valuable. Maybe some individual members of the troupe might have some valuables. People like Lynnette and Madame Fanadi would have their fair share of jewelry and gems. Fyer and Falbi might as well. They would keep them mostly in their rooms at the Inn or else in a chest around where the tent is being set up. The later would definitely be guarded by troupe members, however-- all of whom would be experts of thievery themselves.

And Rissie's got no skill in armor cuz why would she need armor? Her grandparents probably don't even have any lying around, and it's not something that one can learn from a book!

In all honesty Alex doesn't use amour cause I ran out of skill spots, I had to but the sciemtar on minor even though originally it was going to be her signature weapon.

How I would classify her...

Lonely, she takes things to fill the hole in her heart caused by feeling like nobody would care if she turned up face down in a ditch. After her sister died it just got worse, then it was a means to stay alive, now she feels the need to steal to satisfy her sister's last words "Live your life sis". Even all these years later Alex is still grieving.

Though as I write this it occurs to me that you wanted a generalized four word description.

I'd go with traditional rouge. Her moral compass is severly skewed though she does have her code.

Oh, if we're just going for 3 or 4 words, then Rissie's a Chaotic Good Shapeshifting Bard, I suppose xD

I'm getting a post up tonight, think I will try to steer Rissie to Alex.

Hey Chanda, FM, You guys didn't go into detail in the opening post about the fate of the Great Fairies. I assumed in my post that they are not around anymore but if that's wrong I can alter it.

I entertained the idea of creating a classic "knight" type, but, and I'm not sure why, a circus performer/roving vigilante seemed like a much funner prospect.

Anemos is definitely a "wind-monk" sort in combat, Wind/Bo combos are undeniably his modus operandi.
With a balanced combination of major acrobatic and athletic ability, he strikes quick and he strikes ruthless: In this way he's a lot different from Imprisoning War.
He isn't afraid to break a few bones if it means putting an enemy down, although he's still a none-lethalist at heart.
Because he insists on not killing, though, the acrobatics and athletics help him in becoming difficult to hit when it comes toe-to-toe.
That's also why he doesn't have any real armour training, though, because his combat style revolves around being quick, agile (which is also something that goes into his performing) and expertly versed in the use of his weapon, and is based on the idea of not giving the enemy the time or opening to attack.
The problem being that he's totally open to damage from a quicker opponent (lacking in armour skill and blocking skill), and he hasn't much of a chance when it comes to taking magic head-on, either. He's also not great at a distance, but fortunately he's good at disappearing (thank you, major in sneaking.)

Archetype wise, I suppose if I had to describe Anemos he'd be a "battle ready monk", although that's not factoring in the whole alter-ego thing, in which case Batman.

Oliver, being everyone's favorite character and undeniably the hero of this story, was built with survivability as the primary objective. Having the highest athletics skill in the current cast, he is able to flee from most conflicts if need be, but his superior stamina also allows him to fight longer than most everyone else too should he have his back up against a wall. His expert fleeing capabilities are bolstered by a major skill in acrobatics should he need to engage in le parkour, but this also gives him the edge in dodging attacks in combat (which is once again complimented by having the best athletics skill). In case he needs to hide instead of run, he has sneaking as a major skill. As a last resort, should he by some strange freak accident need to take a hit, I gave him light armor as a major skill to give him more bulk. Thievery was just a trade skill I threw in to flavor up his backstory.

As a specific counterbalance to prevent him from being #godmode, I also allotted his only means of damage output in his lowest tier, with one of the most skill intensive weapon types (long blade) as his weapon of choice. You're welcome. Unless "steel hummingbird" has recently become a character class, I don't think Oliver fits any established archetype.

I'm thinking that I may timeskip to the Prince's arrival soon if that's alright with everyone. If we could all get to some sort of resting point so our characters can "exit stage left," that will be great. The Prince's procession will begin at the south gate, go around the Clock Tower, enter North Clock Town, go through the park, and then end in front of the mayor's residence. After the prince is formally "received" by the mayor, he will give his speech, after which the ceremony will end and he will begin negotiations with the mayor in private.

Archetype for Dillan... "Enigmatic Fun-Loving Inventor."

And I'd be fine with a time skip. I don't think anyone was trying to talk to Dillan right now, anyway.

I guess I'd call Griga a... Wind/Electric Magic Brawler? I don't really know, but that sounds pretty close.

Also, I'm okay with a time skip, once others are ready.

I'm good for a skip after they've interacted, then! Not like there's much else to be done, pre-Circus.

Where is he at exactly? I'm assuming that since he saw their faces he's someplace ahead of them instead of behind. They might just pin up a flyer next to the wall he's leaning against and hand him a flyer.
